2. How Unionism Has Impacted the Airline Industry in Us
How unionism has impacted the Airline industry in US
Penn State Harrisburg
Abstract In the wake of a sizable slump in demand driven by economic downturns,
terrorism attacks (especially the events of September 11, 2001) as well as increased
competition from low cost carriers, many incumbent U.S. airlines have been
attempting a fundamental restructuring of their operations. Many would argue that a
central element in this restructuring should include an overhaul of the labor
management relationship. This paper presents information regarding labor unions in
the airline industry of the US, in order to analyze and then summarize main points of
how they have impacted and affected this industry overall.
1. Overview of the air ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were major concerns regarding increased industry concentration of a few
dominant carriers controlling the market. As the airlines began to face a
deregulatory reality of competition and the resulting pressure on cost containment
during the early 1980s, airline management put pressure on labor to provide the
airlines with financial relief, in order to survive. Reducing labor costs appeared to
be the strategy of choice for many carriers in the drive to maintain a competitive
position in the industry if not only for mere survival. Despite the carrier pressure on
airline labor in the deregulatory era, the airline industry remained one of the
strongholds of traditional industrial relations. Union density was estimated to be at
39.5 percent in the late deregulatory period between 1983 and 1997. On the other
hand, representation rates reached almost 50 percent during this regulatory period
5(Hirsh and Macpherson, 2000). Many believe that deregulation leads to an erosion
of union effectiveness, while regulation leads to increase in union effectiveness.
Despite the change in regulation of the industry, relations and negotiations between
airlines and their labor unions continues to be conducted in accordance with the
requirements of the Railway Labor Act (RLA). This act was passed in 1926 after the
railroads and their unions agreed to set in place a legal framework that
3. Active Voice
Voice:
In simple words, Voice (in other words (but rarely said) is also called, diathesis) is a
term that describes the relation between an action (verb) taken by the subject, the
subject (the one who performs the action) and the object (the thing being acted upon).
Active Voice:
Active voice is most commonly used verb. Active voice is where; the subject is the
one who performs an action (verb), while object is the thing being acted upon.
When the subject performs an action, the verb is in Active voice.
For example:
The mouse ate the cheese.
Here, the mouse is the subject, ate is the action (verb) and cheese is the object.
Since the subject is doing an action, we say that the verb is in active voice.

Rita writes a letter.
Here, Rita is the subject, writes is the active verb and letter is the object.
Sarah has written a book on her family.
Here, Sarah is the subject, written is the active verb and book is the object.
Uses of the Active Voice:
Active sentences are more direct (This proves that the subject admits that he was the
one who did the act) and engaging for the reader. The sentences are shorter and allow
you to express an authoritative tone. And they are also often less confusing and
ambiguous.
Passive Voice:
Passive voice is where; the object is suspected to have done an action (verb) and the
subject is the thing being performed on.
When the subject is the target for an action, then the verb is in Passive voice.
For example:
The cheese was eaten by the mouse.
Here, the cheese is the subject, eaten is the passive verb and mouse is the object.
Since the subject is the one being suspected for the action, we say that the verb is in
the passive voice.

4. The Supreme Court Decision Roe V. Wade Essay
Soc 116: Memo #1 The supreme court decision Roe V. Wade that legalized abortion
in the United States was decided in 1973. Over 40 years later, abortion is still one
of the most controversial issues in our society. What is it about a woman s right to
choose that is so polarizing for so many Americans? And what keeps this social issue
at the forefront decade after decade? Religion. Religious beliefs and practices
influence views on abortion. Individuals with higher levels of commitment to
religious groups tend to oppose abortion at higher rates than those with lower levels
of commitment (Liu, 2009). According to Pew Research, 54% of White evangelical
protestants believe that abortion should be outright illegal. Amid those who believe
abortion should be illegal in all or most cases sixty one percent attend church
weekly, fifty six percent say religion is very important and fifty four percent have a
certain belief in a personal God(Liu, 2013). With such statistics it is easy to see how
influential the role of religion plays in those who believe abortion should be illegal.
These statistics can be stretched even further to show that it is through group
interactions, particularly in religious interactions, that women learn group beliefs. As
a result, these beliefs impede a woman s ability to choose. The choice to have an
abortion is a constitutional right that every woman should be allowed to make at her
own will. It should be her own merits and decision making that brings her
5. Dreams In The Priest s Tale
Medieval people were deeply interested in dreams and visions. Dreams were an
essential part of daily life, and people speculated about what they dreamed about.
They took from bible stories to speculate what those dreams were about. Because
of this, the medieval Dream Vision flowered from the period, as people generally
accepted that dreams could convey wisdom and knowledge to the reader. The Nun s
Priest Tale by Chaucer is a prime example of this genre, as it reinforces the
importance the dreams and how ignoring the dreams could have dire results.
The importance of some people s dreams caused them to change their former ways
of life, often helping them in the long run. In 1149 an Irish Knight goes to Cork, and

While Chanticleer is talking to Pertelote about how the dreams he believes are true,
he eventually thinks otherwise. Chanticleer says that woman is man s joy and
happiness, for when I feel at night your gentle side,. . .I am so filled with joy and
happiness / that I defy all visions and dreams (Chaucer 211). Because of Pertelote,
Chanticleer takes no warning to the possibility that what he dreamed might happen in
the future. Pertelote did not say anything about it, except that she said Chanticleer
should go back to sleep and not worry about what was to come, And fear no dream!
(Chaucer 207). Pertelote influenced Chanticleer to disregard the dream and go
back to sleep. And because Pertelote makes a big deal about living in the moment,
and not worrying what was to happen in the future, Chanticleer s dream becomes

fox an opportunity to strangle him: [He] began to crow as loud as ever he could.
And Mister Russell Fox at once leapt up, And took hold of Chanticleer by the
throat, and bore him on his back towards the wood (Chaucer 215). His dream
becomes true all because he became ignorant about a small dream he once had. If he

Kate Chopin (1850 1904), an American author, wrote two published novels and
about a hundred short stories in the 1890s. Most of her best known work
concentrates on the lives of sympathetic, intelligent women. Many stories ended up
being published in high status magazines such as Vogue and American Press
Association. Chopin s novels were mostly forgotten after her death in 1904, but
several of her short stories appeared within five years after her death, some were
reprinted and people started to read her stories again. Since 1969, numerous scholars
have written about Chopin s life and work. Feminist critics have had a massive

interest in painting, does not rely on her husband financially anymore, moves into a

politicians, and they want a whole different kind of governor. They prefer to hear

advantage. Along with his amazing speeches through his campaign, he used more
than $10 million of his personal wealth and a relentless throw the bums out battle

Arnold must have been confident that he will be able to keep his promises in

unachievable for him to accomplish his tasks without raising taxes. Wasn t he

12. Analysis Of Social Inequality In Battle Royal By Ralph...
Social inequality seems to be more common in places you will not expect. The story
Battle Royal By Ralph Ellison explains that a young boy grows up to learn the harsh
reality of being an invisible man. The author does this by putting the main character
in the story, though situations that make him realize that he is diminished from
society. The meaning of the story is supported by the setting of where different
things take place throughout the story. Places such as the main ballroom played an
important role. The ring of where the battle royal took place between the classmates
can also be looked at to see how the narrator explains his point. Towards the end is
when the main characterpresents his speech in a harsh environment that forces him to
push his boundaries. These three settings throughout the story help the reader
understand the meaning of the story that social inequality can make someone become
an invisible man. According to the story Battle Royal by Ralph Ellison, the settings
differ between different parts of the story. In the beginning when the passage states
It was in the main ballroom of the leading hotel... was told since I was to be there
anyway, I might as well take part in the battle royal to be fought by some of my
schoolmates as part of the entertainment (Ellison 205). The main character finds
himself having no choice but to do what he was told without a say about whether he
would want to or not. This form of obedience of social class between the African
Americanboy and white men happens throughout the story. Ralph Elision continues
to explain that the form of entertainment was to watch the kids fight brutally in a
bloodshed battle between African school boys. It all began when he was invited
into the hotel ballroom that he would begin being told what to do or what to say or
act. The way the room was set up, put a boxing ring in front of a row of chairs from
all three sides. Immediately after the main character arrives to the boxing ring is
when he faces a new challenge that he must overcome. This fight between classmates
has him worried that he might not even get a chance to give his speech. The author
implies that the setting of the boxing ring can intimidate anybody if there were

At the beginning of the war all the major combatants had a place in code breaking
establishments, all of which would experience explosive growth during the war.
[173] These agencies would then go on to provide critical information during the
war to provide information needed to combat the Axis. One of the most important
needs for espionage was in the deciphering of the ENIGMA. [176] This was used
to code and decode German messages sent and received between commanders and
such. [176] It was very hard to decipher the ENIGMA because of the way it was set
up. [176] What made it so difficult to decipher was the process by which a letter in
an original message was transformed into a different one for the transmitted
message. [176] The process involved, among other things, three motors in each
machine that were chosen from a set of five. [176] Each of them had twenty six
settings, and a plugboard, which connected the keyboard letters to the lampboard
letters. [176] For example the first time the L key was pressed a B might light up,
but because the rotors turned further entries of L on the board would not produce
another B but rather other letters. [176] US intelligence along with help from other
countries was eventually able to make a duplicate machine that would help them in
decoding messages. [177] Without help from espionage in this instance the US and
their allies would be susceptible to unknown attacks and movements of armies
without having a chance to

Utagawa Hiroshige. Shono hakuu (Light Rain at Shono), number 46. 1832 1833.
This piece of artwork is known as a woodblock printing, the style of this is both
representational and realistic. It is representational and realistic since it displays
Shono during a rainy day while it also displays the people hiding underneath their

were used by Utagawa to create this printing were woodblocks, ink, and color on
paper. When Utagawa created this piece of work he had to be careful and precise
with the details on the wood blocks. Woodblocks were especially difficult when
made with different types of colors. When making colored woodblock printings
you were required to use one wood block for each desired color, you would also be
required to have accurate precision printing and intricate carving skills. This type

plain apparel they wear and the manner in which they interact with each other.
Furthermore, the Amish people are just viewed as an attraction for people and the
privacy of the community is not respected. Tourists flood the Amish communities in
the hopes to catch a brief glimpse of the families working or children playing. In
addition to the invasion of personal privacy, the increase in tourism opens their
children to the materialistic mainstream of outside society. If the children get a
glimpse of how the outside world interacts they may not want to stay and become
baptized, making the future Amish
21. The Jaguar Smile Summary
In The Jaguar Smile we see a number of actions that are considered to be political
behavior, based on the definition and examples provided by Dr. Munroe. One of
the more easily identifiable political behaviors that we see is the revolution itself.
This is a major political behavior, it was the people s way of saying that they are
done with the Somoza government and they are ready for massive change. A
second political behavior that we see in The Jaguar Smile is voting. Voting is
mentioned more than once in the book, and evidence of people voting can be
observed in the epilogue. As Rushdie is on the airplane leaving Nicaragua, he has a
conversation with a woman name Silvia. In this conversation, Silvia admits that

government, while under the Reagan administration, saw the Sandinista s rise to
power as a threat to the security of the U.S. The reason the U.S. felt threatened by the
rise of Sandinistas is due to the U.S.S.R. supporting the Sandinistas. The U.S. feared
that Nicaragua would become a puppet state for the Kremlin, which would then
destabilize South America in an attempt to push the U.S. out and help the U.S.S.R.

this, the U.S. decided that it must act in its own best interest, which is called self

22. Reoccurring Feature In 20th Century Fashion
A reoccurring feature in 20th century fashion was how the shape of the female body
looked. Trying to find different, innovative ways of manipulating and displaying the
curvature of the body.
Between 1900 and about 1907 has become an extension of the late 19th century for
fashion. Women were still wearing constraining, tightly laced, whalebone corsets
to exaggerate the shape of the female torso as it was very admirable to have a well
rounded figure. During this period, women s clothes were very feminine with a
high use of soft colours, such as lilacs, typically the designs were very floral. The
dresses covered women from the neck down and were highly decorated with a lot
of jewellery. It was considered very fashionable for blouses to be garnished with lace
or frill trimmings and to have big skirts that trailed ... Show more content on

In the second half of the decade, ladies felt a lot more liberated with more women
going to college and university. As well as the votes for women campaign which
brought more independence. This showed in the clothes that they wore as dresses
became more practical, allowing women to take part in more sports and physical
activities like cycling. The dresses were shortened, still touching the floor but
without the trail, and more pleats were added so that movement was easier.
Although, a lot of men did not like the newer flowing dresses, French designer Paul
Poiret was an exception. Poiret elevated fashion as he was keen to get back to the less
corseted, natural shape of the body through dresses. He was well known for his use
of vibrant, warm colours and combining art in his designs. Losing the corset meant
that clothes were less tight on the waist, as an alternative keeping the high waisted

Leo Tolstoy was an acclaimed writer of his time. Finding his love for writing in
early adulthood he had time to grow and flourish with each book he wrote. Tolstoy

evidence is not only used for electronic crimes but also used to accuse any type of

As computer related crimes started increasing during 1980s and 1990s, the law
enforcements agencies started creating special investigation groups. These groups
helped in detecting evidence for the crimes. FBI created a team for computer
analysis and response in 1984. Through 1990s the demand for these kinds of
groups increased. In 2001, the British National Hi Tech Crime Unit was arranged to
deliver National framework for computer crime. The significance of digital forensics
is that, they believe almost 95% of the criminals leave at least minute evidence that
could help in resolving the crime using digital forensics. In the recent days, the
criminals are smart and they know the technologies used by the Police/ FBI to
resolve the crimes. So the criminals are becoming smart in committing crimes. They
are using advanced methods to escape from the crimes. They are using encryption
and other data hiding techniques. The traditional methods cannot search if these
techniques of data hiding are used. In order to recover the data we could use digital

the collected data using forensic tools, and then analyzing the result after examination

Microsoft has equipped the organizations with the Windows server operating system
and other server tools like Exchange Server, SQL Server, SharePoint Server, etc. In
addition, there are inbuilt server tools like DNS Server, DHCP Server, File Server,
and Active Directory to create a complete networking infrastructure inside an

Let us suppose a case of a large organization has fifty different departments, each of

wants them to complete this task in four days without a hit to the daily demands of
troubleshooting the computers, managing the networks, seeing the logon/logoff, and

Two times world wars in the previous century have made a huge impact on every
field, triggering the development of economics at full swing. Some ideas that
intended to overcome the old theory and explain the shock were born at this time;
for instance, view of Macroeconomics by Keynes and new thoughts by Hayek. Karl
Polanyi (1986 1964) concentrated in this research indicated the new perspective
with regard to present and future world. The huge impact made Polanyi write his
main work in 1944, The Great Transformation (hereafter TGT). His first work

In wide meaning, economic history includes anthropology for him, so the
economic history was the bud of Polanyi s anthropological study. He acquired
fame as an anthropologist, because he stressed anthropological analysis after TGT;
for instance, Trade and Markets in the Early Empires (1957), Dahomey and Slave
Trade (1966), Primitive, Archaic, and Modern Economics (1968), and Livelihood of
Man (1977) . All of these are about anthropology and he got a famous as
Anthropologist. However, these works did not mean that his interest really shifted to
anthropology, from modern social economic issues (Pearson 1977) . The turn is just
surface and pretended. Indeed, although his anthropological works were brilliant, his
estimation as an anthropologist has become weaker and weaker today; in other
words, more researchers consider Polanyi as a social scientist. Then, how was his

Civil Rights Movement or 1960s Civil Rights Movement (sometimes referred to as

35. Pieta In The Toilet Film Analysis
Terminal affliction dramas have been a long trope in films, with such classics like
Love Story, Bright Star, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Biutiful and Sunny; either
handling the subject manner in an understated manner or wringing all the dramatic
juice out of it for all of its worth.
It is definitely used as an easy in for audience sympathy, which some filmmakers
have taken advantage of to the point that there have been some horrific films like
My Sister s Keeper, P.S I Love You, Restless and of course, Me Before You. Those
are examples that are exploitative, insistent and borderline offensive.
So, when I was planning to watch Pieta in the Toilet, I was a bit nervous as to how the
film would turn out. But I had an open mind when I read that the director of the film,

fantastic direction, top notch performances, a well written script and indescribable
cinematography that is reminiscent of the cinematography in Linda Linda Linda

First off, the direction. As mentioned earlier, director Daishi Matsunaga had directed
documentaries before this; one being about an actual famous artist, and it clearly

throughout the mundane settings like a swimming pool or a hospital, Matsunaga

36. Essay on Political Drama in Henry IV and Henry V
Political Drama in Henry IV and Henry V
The contention that Shakespeare s histories are in fact political drama appears to
fall uneasily on the ears of modern readers. One reason for this could be the fact
that we, as a society, have blurred the connotation of politics to the vaguest of
notions narrow at times, yet far too inclusive. A young reader is likely to view
politics as election and debate, a sort of ongoing candidacy. Indeed, this may be a
valid modern definition, if somewhat limited. For our purposes, however, this
definition is not sufficient to establish a starting point from which to examine
Shakespeare s presentation of political drama.
If we define politics as the acquisition and exercise of the power ... Show more

Unfortunately, too often he is playing to the wrong audience. Richard disdains his
own populace as a base court (III.iii.180), preferring instead the flattering members of
his inner retinue. He seems to envy Bolingbroke his courtship to the common people
/How he did seem to dive into their hearts/With humble and familiar courtesy (I.iv.24
6), but would never think to mingle with them.
Henry, on the other hand, has learned well from his father s example, as well as
from his own experience. In his famous Saint Crispin s Day speech, he inspires his
soldiers by proclaiming himself one of them: For he today that sheds his blood with
me/Shall be my brother (IV.iii.61 2). It can be assumed that Shakespeare s
presentation of the young Prince Hal in the two parts of Henry IV is designed to
reinforce this idea of Henry as a man of the people. Hal s youthful escapades have
taught him a deep understanding of the human nature of the citizens he must rule,
making him wise beyond his years (Rosenblum 133 4).
Unfortunately, if Richard ignores the need to maintain the admiration of his citizens,
he also overlooks his need for the support of the nobility. The historical Richard
angered Parliament with his extravagant household expenses (Hollister 314), which
required extraordinary taxation of
37. Morality And Its Effect On Society
Morality is compatible with politics, for it is the people who create politics and in
them rest morals. Morality itself rest in the individual, and as such is interpreted in
various ways; when put together it is only natural that the definition of morality as a
whole is simplified and thus individual interpreting is compromise and also, a
consensus is reached. As discussed in the Apology and elaborated in Crito, Socrates
stance is moral in nature but is in line with politics, in relation to today s issue of
marriage equality; that is the law is made and must be obeyed and when you
involve independent thinking the political sphere will begin to fall. For equal
marriage in the US it is simply an understanding of what marriage is in the eyes of
the government, and that is: a contract between two individuals who feel that a life,
legally, together is beneficial to them in some ways. Moralityis a personal idea of
what is genuinely good and bad, (whereas ethicsis concerned with how and in what
way one acts) morality is in line with in what is good and bad for that person. This
being the case, each individual is subject to two areas of acting, the first is morally
or in themselves and the other is in the public realm, and thus who they understand
what is good in themselves they will proceed to act in some way in the public
realm. It is in the public realm where morality and politics collide, for the laws of
the land are not always in sync with one s own understanding of
38. Rousseau General Will Analysis
In Basic Political Writings by Jean Jacques Rousseau, Rousseau talks about general
will. The general will is perhaps the most difficult concept Rousseau had to face.
Rousseau explains that the general will relates to sovereignty. Sovereignty is a state
that govern itself. Here Rousseau says, I therefore maintain that since sovereignty is
merely the exercise of the general will(Rousseau, pg.153). The general will is the
common good for the state as a whole. The common good is when it benefits
everyone. Everyone can vote on issues and other matters. Rousseau says, It is
therefore essential, if the general will is to be able to express itself, that there should
be no partial society within the State, and that each citizen should think only his own
thoughts (Rousseau, pg.156). The United States is one of many countries around the
world where the general will is present. In Rousseau s book, Rousseau emphasize
how important the general will is.
Here Rousseau says: As long as several men assembled together consider themselves
as a single body, they have only one will which is directed towards their ... Show

According to Rousseau, laws should benefit the people and should be applied to
all members of states. Laws should be followed because in order to keep the
loyalty of the people. To keep the loyalty of the people good laws must be
established. Rousseau says, Good laws lead to the making of better ones; bad ones
bring about worse (Rousseau, pg.199). This can be true in some ways. Take the
presidency in the United States. In the United States Constitution, the president is
only allowed two terms in office. First the Constitution was formed to help develop
the United States then after many amendments were added to the United States
Constitution, the twenty second amendment was added to prevent the leader of the
United States to assume ultimate power. A positive and a positive could only result

The white blouse is also a basic item in male costume, tightened at the waist with a
woolen sash or leather belt. This is usually worn with narrow, white trousers. A
typical piece of headgear for men is the hat made of lambskin, black felt, or straw
depending on the time of year and the local tradition. Romania preserved a significant
number of traditional customs and celebrations manifest within the strong community
of the village. Ceremonies dedicated to the significant moments of one s life (birth,
wedding, death), to natural cycles (such as solstice, equinox, harvest, springtime) or
to the big religious celebrations, follow the same archaic mythical rituals they did a
thousand years ago. Even though preformed in 21st century in villages marked by
modernization, such traditional rites haven t diminish their prestige. They still
provide viable answers to how to live in harmony with the environment and
community, that the present social and economical system cannot furnish.
During winter solstice, when the sun is weak and frost and dryness take over,
Romanian peasants conceived ceremonies to help the Sun and Nature to overcome

40. Taking a Look at Evolutionary Psychology
Evolutionary Psychology is a practice of social and natural sciences that studies
human characteristics through the lens of modern evolutionary theory. This is
exactly what Dunbar and his colleges attempt to do with the family in their book. The
discussion of the family has to start with defining what parentinvolvement actually is.
The authors of the book Evolutionary Psychology use Robert Trivers definition from
1972 that states, any investment by the parent in an individual offspring that
increases the offspring s chance of surviving at the cost of parent s ability to invest
in other offspring . This means that if a parent of a individual uses any of their
resources to help improve their child s chance of survival, meaning... Show more

The second circumstance for infanticide is if the child is born with severe
disabilities or deformities for the simple reason of is the child worth the
investment. Is involved in a child s life who is going to require more of an
investment that an average child, and still highly unlikely to reproduce worth it?
Twins are a similar circumstance. Parents have the dilemma of possibly of not
having adequate resources for both children at the same time. So infanticide could
be logical in this situation so the parents could invest heavily into one of the twins
to help ensure the best opportunity for the child throughout life as opposed to
dividing the resources in half. This leads into the last circumstance, which is just not
having the adequate amount of resources to raise even a single child. This practice
is exemplified to the rate of aborted children or children sent to orphanages in young
single women, or old married women who have had several children prior. Also
discussed is how unique the human family is. Human fathers are involved in their
children s lives more than any other species and humans are the only species where
grandparents exist. The explanation for these occurrences are that the human infant is
so dependant that it needs the support of more than just a mother, and even just the
mother and father in some cases. The occurrence of grandparents can also be
explained by the phenomenon of menopause. The human

Napoleon was not only a great leader, but also a great commander who like
Alexander the Great mastered generalship and all that implies. His ability to win
tactical engagements against his enemies by effectively utilizing all the principles of
war in his battles has had an influence on future commanders and the way they
approach warfare. The Battle of Austerlitz or the Battle of the Three Emperors did
two things: It brought an end to the Third Coalition and established the creation of
the French Empire under Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. Victory at Austerlitz was a
tactical success for Napoleon. Therefore, during the Battle of Austerlitz Napoleon

PRIVATE PRISON CORPORATION OF AMERICA Nowadays, we are facing a
major experiment in privatization. For example, private companies have entered the
business of managing public schools, or religious schools. Also, they even run in
prison industry. Among them is Private Prison Corporation of America, which is
growing fast in prison industry in the United States. Especially, immigration detention
business has brought up massive profit for Private Prison of America. Therefore,
corporation is planning to join other private prison corporations by making campaign

Also, the most important fact that Friedman would wonder is nearly half of all
immigrants detained by federal officials are held in facilities run by private prison
companies, at an average cost for each detained immigrant is $166 a night. That s
added up to massive profits for PPA, the GEO Group and other private prison
companies. There is no law violation in Private Prison Corporation because they make
a contract with government, federal agency who present the law. Another, Private
Prison Corporation is not committing fraud. According the text, there is no sign of
fraud in Corporation. They make money by signing contracts with state and federal
governments to house convicted criminal. Nevertheless, Private Prison Corporation
is violating moral custom because their net income is increasing mostly based on
rising immigrant detention and criminal immigrants. Therefore, the legislation or
lobbying would maximize profits for Private Prison Corporation. If the Law no.1
passes, it will authorize greater power for police to check and restrain illegal
immigrant until definitive determination of immigrant status. That can increase the
number of person arrested or imprisonment. Due to that increasing, the company will
be benefit by providing prison services, which are expensive. For example, they
charged $166 a night. On the other hand, the law no. 2

Growing up in a family that runs a construction supplies store, I completely
understand how important it is to invest in a dependable tray truck. Essentially,
having the right rig in your business will make it easier for you to ship your
building materials, such as cement, sand, glass fibers, and wood, to your customers
location safely and on time. Now, if you re currently in the hunt for a tray truck to
add to your operations, I know a couple of models that you can look into. I will
share them all with you, starting with my most favored: the Hino Dutro 616.
Impressively, this Hino working dog is one of the trucks that has received several
good feedback from operators. Let s figure out why by getting into its features and
capabilities below. Hino Dutro 616 Tray Truck: Key Features Reliable My family
actually had the chance to work with the Hino Dutro 616 before, and all I can say
is that it is truly a reliable tray truck. What powers it is a 4.0 litre intercooled turbo
diesel engine that can produce up to 150 horsepower. It also integrates a 5 speed
manual transmission that makes the rig easy to maneuver and drive around town.
Robust body Apart from the excellent power, the Dutro 616 boasts its robust body
as well. Measuring 4,530 mm long and 2,300 mm wide, its steel tray body is ROPS

If you will ask me, what I like about it is its dependability. For such a light duty tray
truck, it still has the strength to carry your building materials and deliver them to
your customers locations safely and on time. Another thing that I like about it is the
fact that it is budget friendly. Imagine, for only around $26,355 AUD, you can
already have a ergonomically designed rig that can serve as your partner on the
highway. Summing up, this Dutro 616 is a smart pick and a vehicle that is worthy of

44. Nuremburg Code Of Ethics Essay
The rights of research participants became a topic of concern as a result of the
Nuremberg Trials in 1945. After World War II and the Holocaust it was discovered
that Nazi soldiers conducted experiments on prisoners of war. Informed consent
from the prisoners was not granted and they became participants against their
wishes. These prisoners of war were not given a choice whether or not to participate.
People all over the world were outraged and the Nuremburg Code of Ethical Human
Subjects Research Conduct came into being. This code of ethics is the first of its
kind in our society to highlight the necessity of voluntary participant consent when
conducting research and investigations. Declaration of Helsinki In 1964 the World

This study again demonstrates the need for informed participant consent. In this
study participants were not provided with proper information regarding the study.
Although the subjects consented to being part of the study they were not told of
the true intent or purpose of the research. Participants did not receive the implied
treatment they needed to survive the illness. The men involved in the study were in
fact misled and were not presented with factual information to make an educated
decision regarding their participation. Subsequently, the news media broke the
story forty years later. Public uproar demanded an investigation. As a result the
study ended immediately and a higher need for informed consent came to light
once more (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2017). The need for
satisfactory moral and ethical laws was now at stake. The result of the Nuremburg
Trials and the Tuskegee Study resulted in the National Research Act (Pub. L. 93
348). This act was signed into law on July 12, 1974. The passing of this law
produced the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of
Biomedical and Behavioral Research (Department of Health, Education, and Welfare,
1979). The job of this commission was to pinpoint principles which involved human
participants and to provide the rules and procedures necessary to insure the safety of
research participants. As a

Around 7,000 years ago, people were found living on the Korean Peninsula. Many
tribes appeared in the Liaoning region of Manchuria and northwestern Korea. Rulers
ruled these tribes, the first being Dangun, the founder of these tribes and would begin
the Gojoseon dynasty. Town states became tribal leagues and eventually became
kingdoms. Three kingdoms were in existence at the time. The first kingdom was
called Goguryeo(37 B.C. AD 668) and was located central to the Yalu River.
Goguryeo was able to obtain large amounts of land from Manchuria and the Korean
peninsula thanks to Gwanggaeto the Great and King Jangsu. The second kingdom
was Baekje (18 B.C. AD 660) and was south of present day Seoul. Silla (57 B.C. AD

refugees from Goguryeo established the Kingdom of Balhae in south central
Manchuria. Balhae created a government system modeled after the Goguryeo
kingdom including its culture. Many Balhae were Goguryeo nobility and founded

a general who had served under Gungye, a rebel prince of the Silla Kingdom. His
goal was to reclaim lost territory in the Goguryeo kingdom. The name Korea came
from the Goryeo dynasty. Wang Geon was unable to reclaim lost territory, but he did

Change is inevitable and has become a way of life. To be able to adapt to the
changes is the biggest challenge of organizations to day, not only to survive but also
to ensure its growth and help to remain relevant in the changing times.

It also requires active collaboration and participation of employees and executives,
working as team and frequent and sustained communication about the need for
change.
Certain activities need to be undertaken to initiate and manage change. The first
activity is motivating people to change. People will be ready to change only when
they feel there is need to change. People can be made aware of this change by
sensitizing them to internal and external pressures for change, revealing
discrepancies between current and desired state. Resistance to change can be tackled
by communicating sufficient information regarding the change and outcome of
change to the members of the organization. Organization members should also be
directly involved in planning and change strategy.
The second activity consists of building a vision were the organization wants to be. It
describes the core ideology and an envisioned future which give a compelling reason
for employees to implement the change.
Political support should be developed by identifying the source of power and key
stakeholders.
Transition can be managed by activity planning, commitment planning and
management structures.
Sustained momentum of change is one of the crucial activities in changed
management. The momentum for change can be sustained by providing the requisite
resources for change, building a support system for

contacted with an infected individual. The process allows individuals who were
identified as being in contact with the infected individual to be anonymously

Treatment of sexually transmitted disease varies depending on the type of infection.
Some treatments are more invasive than others, but it is imperative to receive
treatment in order to prevent further transmissions of the infectious disease within the
community. Although some sexually transmitted diseases, such as syphilis, that are

transmitted disease can also lead to serious consequences. Long term consequences of
untreated sexually transmitted disease cause infertility in both women and men,
ectopic pregnancies and pain in the pelvic and abdominal area of the body. Syphilis

internal organ failure, brain damage, blindness and
50. Reflection On A Critical Incident In PGCE
Introduction:
The way in which we reflect upon a situation, shaped by the interpretation of a
significant event is defined as a critical incident (Tripp, 2011). Reflecting has been
crucial within my first two phases of PGCE as I have been able to value experiences
and make judgements to improve further. My home school practice was graded an
outstanding mainstream primary school (Ofstead, 2015), working 19 percentage
points above their local authority in reading, writing and maths (School
performance tables, 2017). The school s numbers are below average for free school
meals in the area and they have an average percentage of special educational needs
children. Pupil premium percentages are currently at 15 percent out of the 218
children on roll.
This assignment will further develop critical incidents that occurred throughout
phases one and two in my home school. School, subject and pedagogical
knowledge incidents will be critically evaluated against theories and practice.
According to Banks, Leach and Moon (2005) the professional teaching knowledge
vision consists of all three of these areas. A series of conceptual frameworks have
been used to critically analyse each incident further including: Brookfield s lenses,
Banks Leach and Moons model of reflection and Schon and Eraut (1995) reflection
on, in and of action.
I will primarily analyse my school knowledge incident. I have chosen this incident as
it required me to reflect afterwards about how the situation could have

Home Backup Generators Vs. Home Battery What are the most common reasons
why homeowners invest in home backup generators? Heating and air conditioning
are top concerns, along with running water and hot water. All of these items are
high load appliances and require a high capacity to start. These actions consume
significant power and could quickly drain a battery. There a number of ways
homeowners can prepare for a power outage. How would any product help me live

home without being connected to their community s standard power grid explore a
number of options to provide constant energy to their home. Often these options still

How much power output can a generator produce? The most popular Generac
generator model produces 22kW, which is commonly installed to power the entire
home, including all the most common appliances in a home, such as high load
central air conditioners, electric heaters, kitchen appliances, etc . Currently, the
whole house battery is a fledgling product with no full scale distribution network
or availability. Home backup generators by Generac, however, are supported by
more than 5,200 certified dealers and an expansive network of trained installers.
All back up systems are different and their effectiveness depends on how much
power your home requires. According to a recent article in Wired, a 7kWh battery
system would power an average home for 5.6 hours, assuming it is fully charged
when the power outage occurs. The practical runtime of the battery system was
estimated at 3 hours. The prime difference is that a battery is meant to store power
and a generator creates power. In a power outage, a generator can continuously
produce power; a battery can only distribute what has been

There are four different types of methods to be used by an occupational therapy to
treat their clients with motor control problems to enable clients functional movement,
and independence. These methods are Rood, Brunnstrom,
Neurodevelopmental(NDT) also known as Bobath s, and Proprioceptive
Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF). These four methods have similarities according to
their different perspectives on how clients are going to be treated with abnormal
tones. These four methods are very helpful for OTs/OTAs to treat their clients.
Examples of these dysfunctions are abnormal muscle tones such as; rigidity
antagonist and agonist are both working together, spasticityhypertonic; and flaccidity
Hypotonic, as well as different abnormal reactions of the client such as; inability to
do righting reactions, equilibrium reactions; and protective extension reactions. There
are also two types of abnormal reflexesthat the client might manifest if they have a
CNS dysfunction and those are Asymmetrical Tonic Reflexes for an Infant, and Deep
Tendon Reflexfor an adult. Incoordination of Dorsal Column, Basal Ganglia, and
Cerebellar are also examples of CNS Dysfunctions that the client might have. Using
these 4 approaches, such as rood s, brunnstrom s, bobath s and pnf, will help reduce
all of those abnormal patterns and normalize tone, posture, and balance.

Sketches
Edward MacDowell s To a Wild Rose from Woodland Sketches (1896) American
born, but European trained, Edward MacDowell is known as one of America s
prominent composers during the Gilded Age. With the rise of musical nationalism
in America, MacDowell composed Woodland Sketches in 1896, which comprised
of ten piano pieces whose titles refer to the American landscape and his personal
experiences. The most well known piece of the ten is To a Wild Rose. To a Wild
Rose highlights MacDowell s skills as a composer to harvest deep emotions and
impressions from the listener from a simple motive; however, it was also an
attempt for MacDowell to claim an identity as an American composer. In April
1876, MacDowell s mother took him to Paris to attend the Conservatoire, where he
studied piano with Antoine F. Marmontel (Pesce). Dissatisfied, MacDowell went
on to Germany in 1878, which helped further his career (Pesce). The beginning of
MacDowell s success as a composer came with the publication of his Erste Modern
Suite by German firms (Pesce). Edward MacDowell then married Marian Nevins, a
fellow American, and settled in Germany from 1885 to 1888 where he would
devote himself exclusively to composition (Pesce). Due to financial difficulties,
MacDowell would decide to return to America in the autumn of 1888. Upon
returning from Europe, MacDowell would perform a series concerts that led to the
rise of his popularity as a musician. It was typical for American composersto return to
