High School Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "High School" may seem deceptively simple at first glance, as it
appears to be a familiar and straightforward subject. However, delving into the intricacies and
nuances of high school life can prove to be a more challenging task than anticipated.
One of the initial challenges lies in avoiding clichГ©s and generic statements that fail to capture
the essence of the high school experience. The risk of producing an essay filled with overused
phrases and superficial observations looms large. To create a compelling and unique piece, one
must navigate through the sea of common themes associated with high school, such as
friendships, academic pressures, extracurricular activities, and personal growth.
Furthermore, the difficulty intensifies when attempting to strike a balance between personal
anecdotes and broader reflections on the high school environment. Sharing personal experiences
is essential for authenticity, but it requires careful consideration to avoid becoming overly self-
indulgent or disconnected from the broader context. Finding this delicate equilibrium demands a
keen understanding of the target audience and an ability to weave individual narratives into a
universal tapestry.
Additionally, the task involves delving into the multifaceted nature of high school life,
acknowledging the diversity of experiences that students undergo. A successful essay should be
inclusive, capturing not only the common struggles and triumphs but also acknowledging the
unique challenges faced by different individuals. Addressing issues such as cultural diversity,
socioeconomic disparities, and varying academic pursuits adds layers of complexity to the
writing process.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the seemingly straightforward topic of "High School" requires
finesse and depth. It involves navigating through the pitfalls of clichГ©s, finding the right
balance between personal anecdotes and universal themes, and addressing the diverse
experiences within the high school landscape. Writing such an essay is a nuanced task that
demands careful consideration and creativity.

Restaurant Literature Review Paper
Part 1 Theoretical Framework
1.1 Literature Review
1.1.1 Market Segmentation Market segmentation is a marketing concept, and it is
based on the customer needs and wants. The objectives of the concept is to let
customer satisfy with what they wants and to understand of customer preferences and
produce the product and service. Customer satisfaction is an important factor for the
restaurant because it is how they going to survive in the restaurant industry. Basically
to understanding of the social, economic and, to a limited extent, psychological
location of the consumer (Salim, A, T., Rahmat, H., Karuthan, C., Mukesh, K. 2012).
The objectives are to let the satisfaction level become higher which based on
effectively and efficiently. To identify the market is by a variety of technique and
methods, there is market segmentation and target segmentation. To identify the target
market need is also part of the development to create satisfaction for the customer.

It is differentiate based on different type of services, price offered, market
orientation, type of establishment, variety of menu, food specialization, style of
operation and ownership (Lawson, 1994 in Othman and Don, 2008). Basically in
Malaysia, casual dining and fine dining restaurant are included in full service
restaurant based on (Euromonitor International, 2012c) because it provides waited
table service for customer (Gregoire and Spears, 2007). Meanwhile fast food
restaurant consider as quick service restaurant because they produce quick order,
quick production and quick pick up. Nowadays, in the food beverage industry have
many different type of restaurant raising up, it is because changing of lifestyle.
Therefore, there is a good opportunity to growth on different restaurants. Food service

Once And Future King Theme
The Once and Future King The Once and Future King was an interesting book to
say the least. There were many themes I noticed throughout the novel. Each book
in the novel told of a different theme, which gave the novel its appeal. The Once
and Future King has many themes that all come together to tell of a great tale. One
major theme I noticed in book one was the theme of learning. Wart was a young
boy that did a lot of things. He also made a lot of mistakes and sometimes didn t
follow instructions. It was important for him to learn because the land would soon
be his. He also was taught mathematics and chivalry, as this very important at that
time. Most kids grew up and became knights. Learning is the only way to go if you
expect to become king. Wart is young now and has a lot to learn as he will soon
become King Arthur. Learning to me is important, as it is the only way to progress
in life. It was best that Wart learned at a young age. Another major theme in book
one was the theme of pursuit. Pursuit was shown in many ways in book one also.
Wart went out hawking, which led to many new discoveries. Arthur followed the
hawk deep into the forest. He was chasing the hawk, but soon got sidetracked. These
sequence of events led him to meeting King Pellinore. The king is troubled too and
eventually runs... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Time has to be the most important theme in the entire book. It takes time for any
task to be completed. Merlyn knew the future, but intended on living in present day.
He knew in time Wart would become King Arthur. As stated in book four, the king
wished he could go back in time to maybe change or experience something he had
not before. In books three and four there is a lot of talk about time in different forms.
Some moments discussed the talk about time and how much they had left in that
certain situation. Time is very important, as you never know how much you have

The Parents Role in School Shootings Essay
When children commit a horrible act such as a school shooting their parents often
look for someone or something to blame rather than looking at what role they, as
parents, may have had in the tragedy. The often targeted entertainers, video game
developers, teachers, drug companies, and writers are rarely, if ever, responsible for
such tragic outcomes and, unfortunately, often become victims as a result of lawsuits
filed in an attempt to place blame on them. The parents of dangerous children must be
scrutinized and sued alongside every other entity being blamed for the heinous crimes
that children commit.

Littleton, Colorado, killing 15 people, including ... Show more content on

Before the 1999 Columbine tragedy, there was the 14 year old boy in Paducah,
Kentucky who, in 1997, went on a shooting spree at his local school. Parents of 3 of
the shooting victims filed lawsuits against 25 media companies seeking $130 million
in damages, citing that the shooter, Michael Carneal, learned how to shoot a gun by
playing video and computer games. The lawsuits further implied that violent movies
and internet pornography were to blame for the boy s behavior (Holmstrom, par. 6).
In both the Columbine and the Paducah, Kentucky cases the parents of the shooters
were sued on the grounds that they should have known, and prevented, the tragedies
from occurring. According to an article written by Mark Walsh regarding the Paducah
shooting, a state law negligence suit named 45 defendants, including McCracken

the employees of the McCracken County School District was dismissed by Judge

employees should have never been put in the position to have to defend themselves

Shortcoming In My Writing
Another shortcoming in my procedures for writing was not utilizing a person or
program to proof read my papers. So it became, during a session of self deprecating
humor with a friend I made mention of a hard fought after average grade that he
remarked of using an Internet proofreading service. Of course, I loosely took it under
advisement, however, I mostly scoffed it off I already spent too much time on the
papers. But nonetheless, I looked into the service without success of finding the
unicorn free proofreader that would change my writing. In the act of me challenging
his unicorn, he decided to show me the site. Low and behold, it was as he described,
it gave grammatical, spelling, vocabulary, and other writing advice based off my first

Just get it done Patrick you ll do alright, you will not get a great grade, but it will
get done and then four more papers to go, so that s what I did and what became of
it, an average grade as expected. That s when I noticed another factor came into
play; I started writing a draft paragraph at a time and using the proofreader followed
by making the corrections and leaving the paper at that for the day before revisiting
the paragraph for review. Furthermore, I would come back the next day read the
objectives of the assignment and the previous paragraph to see that it complied
before moving forward to the next paragraph. In conclusion, the implementation of a
few different techniques and tools discussed in this reflection has improved my
ability to write effectively and produced vastly improved results. As for the
disciplines, I feel a better grasp of the disciplines of social and natural sciences as I
moved through the subjects than I initially had when I wrote the first assignment for
the course. Furthermore, this experience and the lessons learned during the course
will provide a stable platform as I move forward in my continued education and

Physical Changes Of Aging Research Paper
As we get older we go through physical changes such as our voice, our mobility, our
vision, our hearing, and our balance which are just a few physical changes that
occur. But one change that many of us, especially women, dread about as we age
is our appearance. As we get older our skin loses cells, collagen, fat and the elastin
fibers that make our skin texture smooth and supple, thus creating visible changes
such as wrinkles, crow s feet around the eyes, dark circles, sagging skin, hallowing
of the cheeks, frown lines, and the drooping angle of our mouths. Our appearance,
especially the way our face looks like, is something every woman, young and old,
stresses about. Women, and men too, want to stay and look young forever. In
western culture and around the world beauty is defined by the media and its
various platforms. When we see in the media older celebrities such as Halle Barry,
Catherine Zeta Jones, Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie and various other beautiful
celebrities we are conditioned to think that this is what aging looks like and what
we should be striving for. There is a social pressure that is created because of this. As
we age, our appearance is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

does not need to be young to make lifestyle changes. Young and old can make these
changes at any time. It is never too late to choose to change and improve the quality

Richmond was a segregated city, and Ashe lived in a poor, black neighborhood. Jim

Americans to inferior amenities; and Ashe grew up swimming in colored pools.
Social mobility was very limited, and lynchings still occurred. Moreover, African
Americans weren t even guaranteed some of America s most fundamental rights,
including the right to vote. The Virginia constitution banned blacks from voting from
1902 to 1965 and they had little political power. There were no black city

Creating Social Connection
In the article Creating social connection through inferential reproduction: Loneliness
and perceived agency in gadgets, gods, and greyhounds by Epley, Akalis, Waytz
Cacioppo the researchers conducted three studies. The purpose of the studies were to
examine if loneliness was significantly correlated with the anthropomorphic mental
state, if social disconnection increase belief in some religious agents or actions, and
whether the likelihood of attributing humanlike mental states or traits to pets would
be greater among people induced to feel social disconnection than among people not
so induced. Researchers made three hypotheses, one for each study. The first
hypothesis was that loneliness was significantly correlated with the anthropomorphic
mental state ratings, the second hypothesis was that participants in the disconnected
condition reported stronger belief in supernatural agents than participants in the other
two conditions combined. The last hypothesis was that participants in the
disconnected condition were more likely to select one of the three social connection
traits than were participants in the other two conditions combined. After completing
the methodology, it was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the article by Epley, Akalis, Waytz Cacioppo, it can be concluded that there is a
relationship to fill the gap of human social connection. What did the lonely human
do to humanize their pet? This could help explain the relationship between the pet
and human. Perhaps some participants are just normal pet owners, and some take
their pet t work, dress them up in human clothes and even read them bedtime
stories. Understanding this information will allow us to know how far a person is
willing to go to fill the gap. To expand even further upon the idea researchers could
examine the cause of loneliness and divide the participants into categories to draw

The protagonist is confronted by a strong moral argument when he agrees to help
participate in a burglary, but the stakes rise when two people end of up dead. Now
he has to cover up his involvement. It s a solid dilemma for a taut thriller.
The plot is driven by the protagonist s goal to keep his involvement a secret from
the police and the woman he cares for. The stakes are high. If caught, he loses his
freedom. The stakes are also personal. He could lose the woman he loves and his
chance at redemption. Overall, the plot is a good set up for conflict, tension, and
inner character struggle.
The theme seems to be driven by life choices, and by the idea that the choices one
makes will have grave consequences. While the moral dilemma is strong, the script
would benefit from more development.
The story opens with the protagonist Bobby being released from his position as a
baseball player. It s a bit vague regarding why, but sets the idea that he has failed.
The story also opens for Bobby more like a drama vs. a thriller. In fact, the opening
focuses a bit more on Michael than it does on

After interviewing freshman Maycee Davis she have learned a lot of interesting
facts about her lifetime achievements and goals. Davis was born in Fort Wayne,
Indiana, but soon after moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. She was raised in a single

Luther s Father Stand Alone Summary
To provide an overview of what the Allotment Policy was, it was also known as the
Dawes Act. As mentioned within class discussions, it was named after Senator
Henry Dawes. This policy allowed Indian people to receive a portion of land.
Indian tribal land would be divided into small sections or allotments. These would
be for Indian families or individuals. When it comes to how many acres will be
provided, it all depends on who it is. The amount of land granted to each family is
160 acres. On the other hand, 80 acres will be given per individual. Orphans who
are under 18 years of age, can only receive half of the land an individual would get.
In that case, they receive 40 acres. Once the allotment was processed and completed,

Some tribes may include the Cherokee and Hopi. According to our class lectures,
there was an outrage due to the allotments. The Cherokee who are from Oklahoma,
expressed their thoughts in front of Congress. Due to the strategy used when it
came to the Allotment Policy, the land was difficult to farm on. In class we had
discussed how the profits of all the corn produced would only make a slight dent
within debt. As a result of bad crops growing, the debt started to accumulate. It was
thought that the entire system was rigged. The allotments became a checkerboard.
The meaning behind the term checkerboard, is that Indian families or individuals
were becoming surrounded by White settlers who claimed open land. The goal of the
checkerboard was to break up the Native American communities. Not to forget, the
Hopi had petitioned that they needed more land due to infertility of the soil.
Although they tried to voice their opinions, feedback or answers were never given
back. Eventually, they had given
Analysis Of Through The Tunnel By Doris Lessing
In Doris Lessing s Through the Tunnel , Lessing uses imagery in order to show the
audience that the transition from childhood to adulthood is a quest in itself. Lessing
reveals that Jerry s quest isn t just to swim at the bay, but is to become a man by
suggesting that swimming through the tunnel represents manhood and to become
like the boys at the bay who Jerry idolizes as being men. It is evident that Lessing
incorporates explicit overtones into her writingbecause in the text It s All About
Sex... Foster explains, imagery is just a part of the much older tradition identified
by Freud/Westen/Frazer/Jung about lances and swords and guns (and keys) as
phallic symbols, chalices and grails (and bowls, of course, also) as symbols of
female sexual organs. (3). Therefore, Foster concludes that other objects can
symbolize sexual organs, and that objects that can be filled tend to represent female
sexuality. And Lessing incorporates this philosophy into her short story by writing,
All night the boy dreamed of the water filled cave in the rock, and as soon as
breakfast was over, he went to the bay. (6). Therefore, Lessing uses the imagery of
the water filled cave that going through the tunnel is symbolic for having sexual
intercoursebecause the tunnel represents female sexuality, because it can be filled.
Furthermore, Jerry quite literally has a wet dream, further suggesting the explicit
nature of the real quest. However, Lessing shows the audiencethe difficulty of this
goal

A Case Study of One Student s Approach to Reading The Divine Image
Hypothesis
When Marielle, an English 2 student, was given a series of critical thinking tasks,
her first response to the poem, The Divine Image, by William Blake changed as she
followed the direction of each task and built on her previous understanding of the
poem. I describe her responses to the eight learning paper tasks and her dissection of
the poem for hidden meanings.
The Tasks and Various Interpretations
For each learning paper, Marielle was given eight different ways to interpret
The Divine Image, by William Blake. Learning paper 1 asked her to read the poem
out loud, write down any ideas that came to mind, then write a summary of what the
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For learning paper 2, she had to reread the poem, then detect and define key words
that made a strong impact on her. What Marielle did was define some of the words
she felt were strong Mercy, Pity, Love and Peace. She then reread the poem and was
asked to reinterpret it. After she identified key words, she felt that this poem is
trying to reinforce the importance of being kind to others and treating them as God
would. Mercy, Pity Peace and Love are being reinforced as necessary human
qualities. She looked up the literal meanings of the key words, wrote them down, and
added comments next to the definitions. After defining and commenting on these key
words, her opinion differed.
I am able now to see the correlation between the title the Divine Image and the song
itself. The divine image is expressed in its human form through the actions and
feelings of Mercy, Pity, Peace and Love. The Divine Image is referring to God,
humans can be Godlike by performing these four feelings and actions.
She now felt that humans were considered Divine only if they use Mercy, Pity, Peace
and Love. In the beginning, though, she felt that one had to treat others with the same
respect like God and that the characteristics were simply important for humans. Even
though her opinion changed, she didn t use the dictionary s literal meanings to write
a translation of the poem, rather she constructed her version of the poem with the
words of the
Analysis Of The Book The Hardy Boys
The Hardy Boys series written by various authors, all under the pseudonym
Franklin W. Dixon has been around for a very long time. Their first appearance
was in 1927, and they have survived numerous reboots and reprints since then. Part
of their charm, especially for kids, is that, unlike Sherlock Holmes and other
popular detectives, they are teenagers. Like their readers, they have school, chores,
and church on Sunday. This essay will focus, as far as plot is concerned on the first
book The Tower Treasure, the differences between the Hardy Boysand typical
detective fiction, as well as on the cultural impact of the books. The Tower Treasure
begins with the sons of private detective Fenton Hardy running an errand for their
father. The errand and their lives are almost cut short, however by a speeding car that
nearly runs them off the road. They survive the incident, and continue on, completing
their errand successfully. They then detour to the farm of Chet Morton, a school chum
of the Hardy boys [who] lived on a farm about a mile out of Bayport (Dixon 14).
On the way to Chet s they discover the car that almost killed them overturned. They
examine the wreck to find that it has been abandoned. Upon arriving at Chet s, they
discover that his jalopy, the Queen has been stolen. They drive into their hometown
of Bayport, where they run into Callie Shaw. Callie accuses Chet of lending his car
to someone who then hit her and ruined a cake she was carrying for a neighbor. They

Misrecognition, Pleasure, And White Identity In Kipling s
Kim
A brief examination of the essay The Unbearable Whitness of Being:
Misrecognition, Pleasure, and White Identity in Kipling s Kim will prove that Tim
Christensen is correct in his argument that Kipling represents the Ideal White as a
European free from ego and a sense of oneself, who can sympathize with the
colonized. During Kim s conversation with Colonel Creighton, he is told a very
important piece of information, that he is, not at anytime be lead to condemn the
black man. I have known boys newly entered into the service of the government who
feigned not to understand a talk or the customs of black men. Their pay was cut for
ignorance. There is no sin so great as ignorance. Remember this ( Kipling 120 2004).
This shows the governments... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

in the lama s grip. A low murmur of horror what up from the coolies some of whom

prime example of what Kipling would define as non ideal whites. The French and
Russian duo obviously has no sympathy for the Lama and Kim as they rip the holy
relic out of the Lama s hands, they are also not educated in the cultural background
of the country they are in, as they do not relies that their porters are Buddhist and
that they have just committed blasphemy. This combination of ego and ignorance
results in a tremendous backlash in the form of angry porters and results in the
defeat at the hands of Kim.To wrap up, these events show that Tim Christensen is
correct in his argument that the ideal white constructed by Kipling is one who is
free from ego and a sense of oneself, who can sympathize with the colonized. A brief

Important Quotes From Things Fall Apart
6. Among the Igbo the art of conversation is regarded highly, and proverbs are the
palm oil with which words are eaten. The use of language in the Igbo culture
compared to Western culture is very different. In America and most of Europe
sentences tend to be direct and focus on getting a point across. The Igbo however,
use what we would consider inefficient small talk in every interaction so much so that
it is tradition. That is what diffuses tension when Okonkwo s father Unoka owes
money because they talk about friendly subjects, specifically through proverbs, and
eat before discussing how much Unoka owes. This helps to create a nonviolent
interaction. Although this contrasts to our own culture, it also holds a similarity.

In Northeast Nigeria, where the book Things Fall Apart takes place, the terrorist
group Boko Haram is constantly causing the governrnent trouble. Whether it s when
they kidnapped over 200 girls from a school, kidnapped and trained child soldiers, or
just this March attempted to bomb a Mosque. Not to mention how Polio and
malnutrition are indirectly being worsened by the group. However, the similarity to
20th century Umuofia is uncanny. This is because both Boko Haram and the Igbo
share the same fight, that against western culture. Boko Haram actually translates to
Western education is a sin. Although it s not their full, official name, it is it s slang

beliefs to all of Western society, largely gender related. Not all people share equal

group, although they are terrorists and the Igbo were not, you can see that people are
still fighting against the same change in that area, even if it s under a different
Battle Of Normandy Turning Point
The Battle of Normandy was a battle in World War II and a huge one in World War
II. This battle was one of the turning points in the war that eventually led to the end
of the war, and has become known as the start of the end of war in Europe. The
Battle of Normandy was a battle that lasted two months, starting on June 6th, 1944,
and reaching the end of the battle at the end of August of that year, 1944. The
Battle of Normandy took place on French Soil at Normandy beach. This first day of
the battle is referred to D Day by many people. During 1944, before the battle
started, it was referred to as Operation Overlord by the Allied leaders. There were
many countries fighting in the battle. The countries that fought in the war for the

What Is Fourier Transform
Accordingly, the magnitude of energy density produces the spectrum of function,
which is commonly indicated as color plots. To investigate the signal around time t of
interest, window function has chosen that is peaked around t. Therefore, the
modified signal S_t (П„) is short and its Fourier transform is called short time Fourier
transform (Satish 1998). The principle of STFT is to divide the initial waveform
signal into small segments with short time window, apply Fourier transform to each
segment. However, due to the signal segmentation, this method has limitation in time
frequency resolution. It can only be applied to analyze the segmented stationary
signal or the approximate stationary signal, but for the non stationary signal, when...

A continuous wavelet transform is expressed as: Where x(t)is the waveform signal, a

is a zero mean oscillatory function centred around zero with a finite energy,∫_(

via the scale parameter a and translations via the time parameter b, wavelet
transform of a waveform signal decomposes the signal to a number of oscillatory
functions with different frequencies and time (Jardine 2006). Similar as Fourier
transform decomposes a signal into a series of complex sinusoids, the wavelet
transform decomposes a signal into a family of wavelets. The difference is that
sinusoids are smooth, symmetric, and regular but wavelets can be ether symmetric
or asymmetric, sharp or smooth, regular or irregular. The dilated and translated
versions of a prototype function are contained in the family of wavelets. The
prototype function is defined as a mother wavelet. The scale parameter a and time
parameter b of wavelets formulate how the mother wavelet dilates and translates
along the time or space axis. Different types of wavelets can be chosen for different
forms of signals to best match the features of the signal. The flexibility of selecting
wavelets and the characteristic of wavelets make wavelet transform a beneficial tool
for obtaining reliable results and
Franklin s The Way To Wealth
Franklin exposes in The Way to Wealth one of the main American myths: the way
to wealth is based on hardworking and effort; both lead anyone to success. In this
text, Franklin gives his readers valuable advice to obtain this objective. It is a short
and straightforward text in which its author achieves to treat a quite complicated
issue in a very effective way: the text s structure and its aphorisms are the keys to
this. Franklin s intentions are clear: he wants to share his knowledge on how to
become a man of success. He is perfectly aware that a complex text, with much
philosophical or economical load, would not be convenient for the purpose, and that
to reach a major audience it needs to be the easiest to understand as possible. That is
why, in this text, he makes use... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Franklin uses the fictitious author of his Poor Richard s Almanac, Richard
Saunders, as the main character of his narration. This character was already known
and respected as an advisor for personal improvement at the time The Way to
Wealth was published. He is the narrator of an anecdote: he finds a group of people
asking for advice about taxes and their economies to a wise old man, Father
Abraham, who uses Saunders as example, and uses his guidance to illustrate and
help his interlocutors. The authority given to Saunders as an expert in the field of
personal improvement is reinforced by the constant repetition of as Poor Richard
says indicating that those precepts are given by him a specialist figure in the field.
Franklin transmits his knowledge and ideas through two fictional characters who are
highlight regarded in the narration: Father Abraham is consulted by his neighbors,
and Saunders is directly quoted by the former. Therefore, he accompanies his

Letter To Lululemon Essay
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter today. Lululemon is a store, which I
visit often, due to the clothing being modern and popular. However, I am writing
you today to address a problem I ran into at your stores and to propose a possible
solution.
I noticed that Lululemon clothing prices are marked up a great percentage than
what a fair price would be. The fabric advertised is a special mix, Luon. However,
after completing research, many brands, such as Athleta and Adidas, use a similar
mix and their pants are lower in price. This would not be so much of a problem for
Lululemon if the quality matched the price. Yet, there have been complaints from
Lululemon customers where the clothing displayed pilling or sheerness after just a
few washes something I too have experienced. A customerexpects good quality from
their clothing, especially if they are willing to spend a large amount of money on it.
I have a proposal to solve the problem. A successful solution would include the
criteria of being affordable for everyone, creating a competitive market with athletic
brands, and maintaining the quality of clothing.
My solution is to lower the price of the clothing to match the quality. This would
create a fair price that would compete with other athletic clothing stores. On the ...

With this solution being said, there are potential objections. First of all, it could be
argued that Lululemon would lose money by lowering the cost of clothing. This is
not necessarily true as people already buy the clothing at the current price. Therefore,
lowering the price would theoretically increase the sales dramatically, which in turn
means Lululemon is making more money. A second objection is the fact that the
pants are expensive due to the brand name. While this is true, having an even slightly
lower price would attract more customers and grow the brand

If children don t learn self control methods, they can be at risk of continually
making the wrong decision due to past behaviors that have become bad habits.
Taking a glimpse at the 32year children with poor self control, they appear to be

financial roadblocks. Looking over the observation of self control gradient concluded
that children with low self control had worse health, more wealth, more single parent

The children who had developed self controlled from childhood to young adulthood

Prostitution, Drugs And Money Laundering
Prostitution, drugs and money laundering are all tied together in the underground
world of the public crimes arena. In fact, acts are all influenced by the political,
economic, and social relations intertwined with organized crime resulting in violence,
public health issues, and money laundering schemes. Markets can be found online, on
the streets, and through legitimate and illegitimate practices. The very nature of
prostitution and drugcrimes are considered victimless crimes, resulting in collateral
damage against the innocent, but each criminal act can harm the innocent in various
degrees. Drug addictionhas affected all classes, races, and ethnicities for all time
around the world. Drugs have not only been used for medical and religious purposes,
but they are also illegally manufactured, smuggled, and distributed globally on the
criminal market due to technological advancements today. One might say this harm is
only affecting the individual user, but this is simply not true. Drugs use leads to
addictioncausing mental and physical damage to those who use them. However, the
power of addiction often leads to other heinous crimes and theft to support the habit.
Antidrug legislation and policies have been used to control the drug problem by
implanting stiffer penalties for drug offenses even in small quantities. Nevertheless,
the manufacture and distribution of large quantities can carry a sentence of 10 years
to life and $4 to $10 million dollar fine. Although
Essay about St. Francis And The Franciscan Admonitions
St. Francis and the Franciscan Admonitions
Francis of Assisi was born in 1181, and was taught to read and write in Latin as a
young boy. In 1205 Francis had a vision; this vision was interpreted to be a message
from God to repair the church. After renouncing all of his belongings and receiving
blessings from the pope, Francis set out to preach with his new order of monks,
known as the Franciscans. To preserve the religious vocations of his brothers, Francis
created the Admonitions. They were written during the foundational period of the
Franciscan order. The Admonitions are instructions created to emphasize important
virtues such as obedience, poverty, and humility.

that they are completely unworthy of the grace that God pours down upon them.

In chapters The Humble Religious , Compassion for One s Neighbor , and Patience
Francis main focus is on the virtues of humility and obedience towards one s
acquaintance. Those with humility seek to discover what others have to offer. They
are intrigued by how others think, and how others feel differently from them. One
should not expect more from his neighbor than that of what he himself offers to
God. Patience can be defined as one s ability to endure delay or remain calm when
faced with difficulty. A man has as much patience as he does then and no more . As
written in Francis Admonitions Patience , patience can only be tested when one is in
a situation of discomfort and hardship .
Another chapter in Admonitions is Good Works Must Follow Knowledge. In this
chapter Francis gives a deeper explanation to Saint Paul s the letter kills, but the
spirit gives life . As Saint Paul s explanation can seem vague, Francis gives us a more
understanding viewpoint. The letter alone brings condemnation to the person who
rejects it. However, when the Spirit in a person s heart accompanies this letter,

Analysis Of The Movie The Woman Of Black
On the 31st of March we watched the Woman in Black at the Fortune theatre in
London, as part of our unit two assessment. The play is about Arthur Kipps who
tells the gripping story of the terrible events he survived when he encountered the
woman in black. He learns about the death of Mrs Drablow and travels to the town
of Crythin Gifford. Here he meets many petrified faces, too scared to about the

Jennet Humfrye had a child unmarried and was forced to leave her child with her
sister Mrs Drablow, years later Jennet plans to run away with her son but before
she able to, the tragic event of his death occurs. Due to the unbearable grief Jennet
suffers from a terrible wasting disease leading to her death. Instantly after her death
she returns as the Woman in Black and haunts the people of the town who are too
afraid to speak of her name. After hearing this story he leaves the town, many years

Essay On Gunpowder
Gunpowder otherwise known as black powder is infamously known for its
notorious chemical explosive capabilities. The physical reaction of the powder to an
open flame, is argued to be the earliest known chemical explosives in the history of
human evolution. The invention of gunpowder originates back to the 142 AD ancient
Han Dynasty alchemist, Wei Boyang. Like all Chinese alchemists, Boyang wanted to
discover an elixir of life that would render the user immortal. In his elixir, Wei
Boyang utilised the exact 3 ingredients in gunpowder, resulting in the accidental
discovery of gunpowder. Although Boyang was the first to ever write about the 3
ingredients of gunpowder, he did not realize what the reactions could do. His first

The discipline of chemistry can explain the unique reaction that gunpowder has.
Essentially, black powder has a fuel, an oxidizer, and a stabilizer. The carbon fuels
in the charcoal burn to create energy to be used while strictly needing a constant
supply of oxygen to do so. Potassium Nitrate is an oxidiser, which provides more
oxygen to the burning fuels resulting in a more vigorous chemical reaction, then
creating more energy in the process. Sulphur stabilisers this reaction between the
Potassium Nitrate and the Charcoal Potassium. The nitrate, sulphur, and carbon react
together to form nitrogen and carbon dioxide gases and potassium sulphide, the
expanding gases that give the propelling actions.
Gunpowder revolutionized the Chinese military. Flying fire arrows, mines,
flamethrowers, rockets, grenades and cannons gave the Chinese the upper hand in
expansion into countries like Mongolia. The early development of gunpowder
weapons also meant that the military had to shift from Calvary into more infantry
based. Horseback riding with loud and unpredictable heavy weapons made it
difficult for horses and its riders to fight during battles. The first fire lances , were
first recorded to have been used at the siege of De an in 1132 by Song forces
against the Jin, arrows were attached with a burning tube of gunpowder attached to
the shaft. Flying fire arrows were miniature rockets. Later in 1127 AD, McGill
University professor Robin Yates, states that the
Essay On Similarities Between The Rome And Han Dynasty
Rome and China were some of the oldest and most well known countries in the
ancient world. The Han dynasty was a long lasting dynasty in China s history, and
the Roman Empire had a long and strong rule. Like the rules of these empires, the
falls of these empires were very impressive. Several similarities to the falls of these
empires are apparent. One is the fact that they were both invaded by other tribes that
threatened their power. Another was the government corruption that weakened them
from the inside. And the last, yet very common is historical societies was taxes and
economic reasons.
Apparent strongly in both empires near the end was invading tribes. The Roman
Empire had been suffering from intrusions by German tribes for many centuries.
They had both endured many wins and defeats until one force would scatter and
weaken the roman empire once and for all. The deciding force in this scenario was
the Huns. Afraid that the Huns would attack them, the Germans sought refuge in the
Roman Empire, with Rome begrudgingly agreeing to let them settle on some empty
land. Neither side held up the bargain, however, and they ended up fighting in 378
C.E. in the battle of Adrianople. This battle was considered as one of the most
decisive battles in history. The Huns also effected the Chinese in the Han dynastyas
well, in a way. These battles took place in the Han Xiongnu War. Starting around 133
B.C.E., the Xiongnu fought the Han in the western area for nearly 2 centuries until
Analysis Of Unwind By Neal Lassiter
Although the population of the world is upwards of seven billion people, society
is still an extremely unwelcoming place for people struggling with their lives.
Important figures such as Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., or Abraham Lincoln
stood up for issues like slavery, peace, and racism that no other person would care
about. Even with the incredible advances they made in humanity though, there are
still an unbelievable amount of conflicts between races, gender, and overall

it used for entertainment while staying true to the facts. Creative non fiction follows
the lines of telling a factual event in a very creative manner; whether it is using
dialogue, description or the format that it comes in. Television shows however, have a
different approach in them when it comes to telling the information. The TV show
that I chose as representing creative non fiction was Law and Order. This TV show
includes everything that makes a something nonfiction. It includes Journalist ideas,
which would be considered the facts of the story, it has dramatization and it
sometimes have a lesson learned or a social problem that needs ... Show more content

For instance, TV shows are able to take creative non fiction into the visual side.
Although written forms of it can be visual too but TV shows are able to put names
to faces, which can be more persuading in TV shows such as Law and Order.
However, there is always that concern to whether or not if what is on TV is real.
That proves another shift that may be a huge difference, which is the fact of how
true are TV shows. Nowadays, shows may have creative plots and circumstances
that may not have happened, which does not reflect creative non fiction. Then again,
it may have. For instance in one episode of Law and Order, it referenced the
shooting of Trayvon Martin, however they did it by tweaking the scenario, which

Justice Department was investigating the company s March 2006 agreement with
Canadian generic drug manufacturer Apotex. The agreement was intended to delay
the Apotex s release of an inexpensive generic version of Plavix.
Under the terms of Bristol Myers ill conceived agreement with Apotex, BMS
offered Apotex $40 million to halt production of the generic Plavix until June 1,
2011. This date was five months before the Plavix patent was set to expire. Bristol
Myers also agreed not to release its own non branded Plavix until six months after
Apotex began to sell its generic version of the blood thinner. When asked to approve
the agreement, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and state Attorneys
General objected to these provisions. They labelled the Bristol Myers concession
anti competitive because it assured that Apotex would be the sole market vendor of
cheap, generic Plavix for at least six months. So, Bristol Myers Squibb agreed to
remove the anti competitive provision from the contract. Nevertheless, the FTC
began questioning Apotex regarding the revised agreement. During these questioning
sessions, Apotex told the federal regulators that Bristol Myers had given Apotex
private assurance that it would not release a general version of Plavix to the market.

However, delving into the intricacies and nuances of high school life can prove to be a more challenging task than anticipated. One of the initial challenges lies in avoiding clichГ©s and generic statements that fail to capture the essence of the high school experience. The risk of producing an essay filled with overused phrases and superficial observations looms large. To create a compelling and unique piece, one must navigate through the sea of common themes associated with high school, such as friendships, academic pressures, extracurricular activities, and personal growth. Furthermore, the difficulty intensifies when attempting to strike a balance between personal anecdotes and broader reflections on the high school environment. Sharing personal experiences is essential for authenticity, but it requires careful consideration to avoid becoming overly self- indulgent or disconnected from the broader context. Finding this delicate equilibrium demands a keen understanding of the target audience and an ability to weave individual narratives into a universal tapestry. Additionally, the task involves delving into the multifaceted nature of high school life, acknowledging the diversity of experiences that students undergo. A successful essay should be inclusive, capturing not only the common struggles and triumphs but also acknowledging the unique challenges faced by different individuals. Addressing issues such as cultural diversity, socioeconomic disparities, and varying academic pursuits adds layers of complexity to the writing process. In conclusion, crafting an essay on the seemingly straightforward topic of "High School" requires finesse and depth. • 3. Once And Future King Theme The Once and Future King The Once and Future King was an interesting book to say the least. There were many themes I noticed throughout the novel. Each book in the novel told of a different theme, which gave the novel its appeal. The Once and Future King has many themes that all come together to tell of a great tale. One major theme I noticed in book one was the theme of learning. Wart was a young boy that did a lot of things. He also made a lot of mistakes and sometimes didn t follow instructions. It was important for him to learn because the land would soon be his. He also was taught mathematics and chivalry, as this very important at that time. Most kids grew up and became knights. Learning is the only way to go if you expect to become king. Wart is young now and has a lot to learn as he will soon become King Arthur. Learning to me is important, as it is the only way to progress in life. It was best that Wart learned at a young age. Another major theme in book one was the theme of pursuit. Pursuit was shown in many ways in book one also. Wart went out hawking, which led to many new discoveries. Arthur followed the hawk deep into the forest. He was chasing the hawk, but soon got sidetracked. These sequence of events led him to meeting King Pellinore. The king is troubled too and eventually runs... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Time has to be the most important theme in the entire book. It takes time for any task to be completed. Merlyn knew the future, but intended on living in present day. In books three and four there is a lot of talk about time in different forms. Some moments discussed the talk about time and how much they had left in that certain situation. Time is very important, as you never know how much you have

  • 5. The Parents Role in School Shootings Essay When children commit a horrible act such as a school shooting their parents often look for someone or something to blame rather than looking at what role they, as parents, may have had in the tragedy. The often targeted entertainers, video game developers, teachers, drug companies, and writers are rarely, if ever, responsible for such tragic outcomes and, unfortunately, often become victims as a result of lawsuits filed in an attempt to place blame on them. The parents of dangerous children must be scrutinized and sued alongside every other entity being blamed for the heinous crimes that children commit. Before the 1999 Columbine tragedy, there was the 14 year old boy in Paducah, Kentucky who, in 1997, went on a shooting spree at his local school. Parents of 3 of the shooting victims filed lawsuits against 25 media companies seeking $130 million in damages, citing that the shooter, Michael Carneal, learned how to shoot a gun by playing video and computer games. The lawsuits further implied that violent movies and internet pornography were to blame for the boy s behavior (Holmstrom, par. 6). In both the Columbine and the Paducah, Kentucky cases the parents of the shooters were sued on the grounds that they should have known, and prevented, the tragedies from occurring. According to an article written by Mark Walsh regarding the Paducah shooting, a state law negligence suit named 45 defendants, including McCracken County...teachers...who allegedly failed to interpret warning signals [referring to a paper that Carneal had written depicting a fictitious school shooting] that 14 year old Michael Carneal would go on a murderous rampage (Walsh, par. 4). The case against the employees of the McCracken County School District was dismissed by Judge William Shadoan, citing, We cannot expect those teachers and administrators to be psychiatrists, lawyers, psychologists, or physicians (Walsh, par. 15). These school employees should have never been put in the position to have to defend themselves against such

Physical Changes Of Aging Research Paper As we get older we go through physical changes such as our voice, our mobility, our vision, our hearing, and our balance which are just a few physical changes that occur. But one change that many of us, especially women, dread about as we age is our appearance. As we get older our skin loses cells, collagen, fat and the elastin fibers that make our skin texture smooth and supple, thus creating visible changes such as wrinkles, crow s feet around the eyes, dark circles, sagging skin, hallowing of the cheeks, frown lines, and the drooping angle of our mouths. Our appearance, especially the way our face looks like, is something every woman, young and old, stresses about. Women, and men too, want to stay and look young forever. In western culture and around the world beauty is defined by the media and its various platforms. When we see in the media older celebrities such as Halle Barry, Catherine Zeta Jones, Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie and various other beautiful celebrities we are conditioned to think that this is what aging looks like and what we should be striving for. The protagonist is confronted by a strong moral argument when he agrees to help participate in a burglary, but the stakes rise when two people end of up dead. Now he has to cover up his involvement. It s a solid dilemma for a taut thriller. The plot is driven by the protagonist s goal to keep his involvement a secret from the police and the woman he cares for. The stakes are high. If caught, he loses his freedom. The stakes are also personal. He could lose the woman he loves and his chance at redemption. Overall, the plot is a good set up for conflict, tension, and inner character struggle. The theme seems to be driven by life choices, and by the idea that the choices one makes will have grave consequences. While the moral dilemma is strong, the script would benefit from more development. The story opens with the protagonist Bobby being released from his position as a baseball player. It s a bit vague regarding why, but sets the idea that he has failed. The story also opens for Bobby more like a drama vs. a thriller. In fact, the opening focuses a bit more on Michael than it does on

  • 13. Luther s Father Stand Alone Summary To provide an overview of what the Allotment Policy was, it was also known as the Dawes Act. As mentioned within class discussions, it was named after Senator Henry Dawes. This policy allowed Indian people to receive a portion of land. Indian tribal land would be divided into small sections or allotments. These would be for Indian families or individuals. When it comes to how many acres will be provided, it all depends on who it is. The amount of land granted to each family is 160 acres. On the other hand, 80 acres will be given per individual. Orphans who are under 18 years of age, can only receive half of the land an individual would get. In that case, they receive 40 acres. According to our class lectures, there was an outrage due to the allotments. The Cherokee who are from Oklahoma, expressed their thoughts in front of Congress. Due to the strategy used when it came to the Allotment Policy, the land was difficult to farm on. In class we had discussed how the profits of all the corn produced would only make a slight dent within debt. As a result of bad crops growing, the debt started to accumulate. It was thought that the entire system was rigged. The allotments became a checkerboard. The meaning behind the term checkerboard, is that Indian families or individuals were becoming surrounded by White settlers who claimed open land. The goal of the checkerboard was to break up the Native American communities. Not to forget, the Hopi had petitioned that they needed more land due to infertility of the soil. Although they tried to voice their opinions, feedback or answers were never given back. Eventually, they had given
  • 14. Analysis Of Through The Tunnel By Doris Lessing In Doris Lessing s Through the Tunnel , Lessing uses imagery in order to show the audience that the transition from childhood to adulthood is a quest in itself. Lessing reveals that Jerry s quest isn t just to swim at the bay, but is to become a man by suggesting that swimming through the tunnel represents manhood and to become like the boys at the bay who Jerry idolizes as being men. It is evident that Lessing incorporates explicit overtones into her writingbecause in the text It s All About Sex... Foster explains, imagery is just a part of the much older tradition identified by Freud/Westen/Frazer/Jung about lances and swords and guns (and keys) as phallic symbols, chalices and grails (and bowls, of course, also) as symbols of female sexual organs. (3). Therefore, Foster concludes that other objects can symbolize sexual organs, and that objects that can be filled tend to represent female sexuality. And Lessing incorporates this philosophy into her short story by writing, All night the boy dreamed of the water filled cave in the rock, and as soon as breakfast was over, he went to the bay. (6). Therefore, Lessing uses the imagery of the water filled cave that going through the tunnel is symbolic for having sexual intercoursebecause the tunnel represents female sexuality, because it can be filled. Furthermore, Jerry quite literally has a wet dream, further suggesting the explicit nature of the real quest. However, Lessing shows the audiencethe difficulty of this goal

For learning paper 2, she had to reread the poem, then detect and define key words that made a strong impact on her. What Marielle did was define some of the words she felt were strong Mercy, Pity, Love and Peace. She then reread the poem and was asked to reinterpret it. After she identified key words, she felt that this poem is trying to reinforce the importance of being kind to others and treating them as God would. Mercy, Pity Peace and Love are being reinforced as necessary human qualities. She looked up the literal meanings of the key words, wrote them down, and added comments next to the definitions. After defining and commenting on these key words, her opinion differed. I am able now to see the correlation between the title the Divine Image and the song itself. The divine image is expressed in its human form through the actions and feelings of Mercy, Pity, Peace and Love. The Divine Image is referring to God, humans can be Godlike by performing these four feelings and actions. She now felt that humans were considered Divine only if they use Mercy, Pity, Peace and Love. In the beginning, though, she felt that one had to treat others with the same respect like God and that the characteristics were simply important for humans. Even though her opinion changed, she didn t use the dictionary s literal meanings to write a translation of the poem, rather she constructed her version of the poem with the words of the

Their first appearance was in 1927, and they have survived numerous reboots and reprints since then. Part of their charm, especially for kids, is that, unlike Sherlock Holmes and other popular detectives, they are teenagers. Like their readers, they have school, chores, and church on Sunday. This essay will focus, as far as plot is concerned on the first book The Tower Treasure, the differences between the Hardy Boysand typical detective fiction, as well as on the cultural impact of the books. Misrecognition, Pleasure, And White Identity In Kipling s Kim A brief examination of the essay The Unbearable Whitness of Being: Misrecognition, Pleasure, and White Identity in Kipling s Kim will prove that Tim Christensen is correct in his argument that Kipling represents the Ideal White as a European free from ego and a sense of oneself, who can sympathize with the colonized. During Kim s conversation with Colonel Creighton, he is told a very important piece of information, that he is, not at anytime be lead to condemn the black man. The use of language in the Igbo culture compared to Western culture is very different. In America and most of Europe sentences tend to be direct and focus on getting a point across. The Igbo however, use what we would consider inefficient small talk in every interaction so much so that it is tradition. That is what diffuses tension when Okonkwo s father Unoka owes money because they talk about friendly subjects, specifically through proverbs, and eat before discussing how much Unoka owes. This helps to create a nonviolent interaction. Although this contrasts to our own culture, it also holds a similarity. Even if it s not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 22. What Is Fourier Transform Accordingly, the magnitude of energy density produces the spectrum of function, which is commonly indicated as color plots. To investigate the signal around time t of interest, window function has chosen that is peaked around t. Therefore, the modified signal S_t (П„) is short and its Fourier transform is called short time Fourier transform (Satish 1998). The principle of STFT is to divide the initial waveform signal into small segments with short time window, apply Fourier transform to each segment. However, due to the signal segmentation, this method has limitation in time frequency resolution. It can only be applied to analyze the segmented stationary signal or the approximate stationary signal, but for the non stationary signal, when... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A continuous wavelet transform is expressed as: Where x(t)is the waveform signal, a is the scale parameter, b is the time parameter and П€(t)is the mother wavelet, which is a zero mean oscillatory function centred around zero with a finite energy,∫_( в€ ћ)^(+в€ ћ)в–’гЂ–П€(t)dt=0г Ђ—, and * denotes complex conjugate. By dilating via the scale parameter a and translations via the time parameter b, wavelet transform of a waveform signal decomposes the signal to a number of oscillatory functions with different frequencies and time (Jardine 2006). Similar as Fourier transform decomposes a signal into a series of complex sinusoids, the wavelet transform decomposes a signal into a family of wavelets. The difference is that sinusoids are smooth, symmetric, and regular but wavelets can be ether symmetric or asymmetric, sharp or smooth, regular or irregular. The dilated and translated versions of a prototype function are contained in the family of wavelets. The prototype function is defined as a mother wavelet. The scale parameter a and time parameter b of wavelets formulate how the mother wavelet dilates and translates along the time or space axis. Different types of wavelets can be chosen for different forms of signals to best match the features of the signal. The flexibility of selecting wavelets and the characteristic of wavelets make wavelet transform a beneficial tool for obtaining reliable results and

However, I am writing you today to address a problem I ran into at your stores and to propose a possible solution. I noticed that Lululemon clothing prices are marked up a great percentage than what a fair price would be. The fabric advertised is a special mix, Luon. However, after completing research, many brands, such as Athleta and Adidas, use a similar mix and their pants are lower in price. Yet, there have been complaints from Lululemon customers where the clothing displayed pilling or sheerness after just a few washes something I too have experienced. A second objection is the fact that the pants are expensive due to the brand name. While this is true, having an even slightly lower price would attract more customers and grow the brand

Like all Chinese alchemists, Boyang wanted to discover an elixir of life that would render the user immortal. The carbon fuels in the charcoal burn to create energy to be used while strictly needing a constant supply of oxygen to do so. Potassium Nitrate is an oxidiser, which provides more oxygen to the burning fuels resulting in a more vigorous chemical reaction, then creating more energy in the process. Sulphur stabilisers this reaction between the Potassium Nitrate and the Charcoal Potassium. The nitrate, sulphur, and carbon react together to form nitrogen and carbon dioxide gases and potassium sulphide, the expanding gases that give the propelling actions. Gunpowder revolutionized the Chinese military. Flying fire arrows, mines, flamethrowers, rockets, grenades and cannons gave the Chinese the upper hand in expansion into countries like Mongolia. The early development of gunpowder weapons also meant that the military had to shift from Calvary into more infantry based. Horseback riding with loud and unpredictable heavy weapons made it difficult for horses and its riders to fight during battles. The first fire lances , were first recorded to have been used at the siege of De an in 1132 by Song forces against the Jin, arrows were attached with a burning tube of gunpowder attached to the shaft. Flying fire arrows were miniature rockets. Later in 1127 AD, McGill University professor Robin Yates, states that the

The Han dynasty was a long lasting dynasty in China s history, and the Roman Empire had a long and strong rule. Like the rules of these empires, the falls of these empires were very impressive. Several similarities to the falls of these empires are apparent. One is the fact that they were both invaded by other tribes that threatened their power. Another was the government corruption that weakened them from the inside. And the last, yet very common is historical societies was taxes and economic reasons. Apparent strongly in both empires near the end was invading tribes. The Roman Empire had been suffering from intrusions by German tribes for many centuries. They had both endured many wins and defeats until one force would scatter and weaken the roman empire once and for all. The deciding force in this scenario was the Huns. Afraid that the Huns would attack them, the Germans sought refuge in the Roman Empire, with Rome begrudgingly agreeing to let them settle on some empty land. Neither side held up the bargain, however, and they ended up fighting in 378 C.E. in the battle of Adrianople. This battle was considered as one of the most decisive battles in history. Television shows however, have a different approach in them when it comes to telling the information. The TV show that I chose as representing creative non fiction was Law and Order. This TV show includes everything that makes a something nonfiction. It includes Journalist ideas, which would be considered the facts of the story, it has dramatization and it sometimes have a lesson learned or a social problem that needs ... Although written forms of it can be visual too but TV shows are able to put names to faces, which can be more persuading in TV shows such as Law and Order. However, there is always that concern to whether or not if what is on TV is real. That proves another shift that may be a huge difference, which is the fact of how true are TV shows. Nowadays, shows may have creative plots and circumstances that may not have happened, which does not reflect creative non fiction. Then again, it may have. For instance in one episode of Law and Order, it referenced the shooting of Trayvon Martin, however they did it by tweaking the scenario, which makes the story false. Thus, there is a sense of truth in shows, but there is always that film version that has to keep the visual additives as persuading as ever. Justice Department was investigating the company s March 2006 agreement with Canadian generic drug manufacturer Apotex. The agreement was intended to delay the Apotex s release of an inexpensive generic version of Plavix. Under the terms of Bristol Myers ill conceived agreement with Apotex, BMS offered Apotex $40 million to halt production of the generic Plavix until June 1, 2011. This date was five months before the Plavix patent was set to expire. Bristol Myers also agreed not to release its own non branded Plavix until six months after Apotex began to sell its generic version of the blood thinner. When asked to approve the agreement, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and state Attorneys General objected to these provisions. They labelled the Bristol Myers concession anti competitive because it assured that Apotex would be the sole market vendor of cheap, generic Plavix for at least six months. So, Bristol Myers Squibb agreed to remove the anti competitive provision from the contract. Nevertheless, the FTC began questioning Apotex regarding the revised agreement. During these questioning sessions, Apotex told the federal regulators that Bristol Myers had given Apotex private assurance that it would not release a general version of Plavix to the market.
