I found the best research by including “World War” and “1914-1918” as a subject or
keyword in Advanced Search on most of these databases. Where the option is offered, I
would counsel you to search only full-text so that you can focus their time on
understanding the research, rather than tracking down full texts elsewhere. Also, the
resources that return the most results for the topic of World War I and literature on the
EBSCOHost site are Academic Search Premier, ERIC, and Newspaper Source, though the site
searches numerous other databases as well (just select “Choose Databases” near the top of
the page where EBSCO lists which databases are currently being searched).
