My Beowulf and Archetypal Hero.

2.  The hero I choose was Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger
Games.
 She is a Hero in many ways and she also reflects the
characters of an Archetypal Hero.

3.  The call to adventure for her happened when she choose to
fight for District 12 in the battle.
 It was an adventure leaving her own home to go to a
strange land fight.
 Volunteering to go for sister was allowing her to go on this
adventure to an unknown place.

4.  Katniss’s left her home, family and friends behind to go fight
for a worthy cause.
 She left to go to a totally new and unknown place not
knowing what could happen.

5.  Katniss had a mentor called Haymitch.
 Haymitch guided her and protected her through the
adventure.
 He also warned her of the dangers that were to come her
way.

6.  Katniss crossed the threshold when she entered the tube
that led her to the battlefield.
 She crossed into a totally new, strange and dangerous
place that is very different from her everyday habitat.

7.  Katniss had a sidekick that stayed with her till the end
named Peeta.
 Peeta along with Katniss tried their best to conquer all their
competition and stay together defying the rules that stated
that one of them had to die.

8.  Katniss reflects the characters of an archetypal hero in so
many ways.
 She accepted to go on an adventure, left to fight for a
cause, crossed a threshold, had a mentor to guide and lead
her, and she had a sidekick to help her throughout the
journey.
