ABSTRACT
I thought it would be fun to fling things like raw eggs and rocks with a catapult. Guess
what, it was! By flinging these items I tried to find out if heavier things would travel farther than
lighter ones. Basically how force effects motion.
With the catapult as the force, I sent items soaring, after weighing them, and then
recorded how far the items travelled. This showed me how Newtons Three Laws of Motion
work.

Social Worker Career Report
In America today, about 92,500 job openings in the department of child, family, and social work
currently exist (Career/Technical, 2015). According to O*NET OnLine, the expected projected
growth is 5 to 8% (2015). In 2014 this career had an average of 305,000 employees. Individuals
in this field must have great comprehension, listening and perceptual skills. This Department of
Labor site also states that the median wage for this career field is $42,120 annually. To become a
social worker one does not need extensive education. The choice to become a social worker will
positively impact many individuals. To be a social worker one will help people solve and/or deal

Reflective Role As A Senior Support Worker
My role as senior support worker is to work alongside management to provide an effective
service to vulnerable adults with mental health living in the community; it is important to offer
professional leadership and positive team work skills. At the beginning of my employment as a
senior support worker in mental health there was minimal knowledge and experience in
supporting vulnerable adults within this specific area, however CQC fundamental standards
which everyone in health and social care can expect remain transferable. Please find attached an

In part I of the psychology in media project I reviewed the article Why Young Girls Don t Think
They are Smart Enough written by Sarah Jane Leslie and Andrei Cimpain. The authors of this
article explored the psychological research they conducted along with Lin Bian which is aimed at
discovering the underlying cause for the disparities between men and women across academic
disciplines. In the media article published in the New York Timesthe authors concluded that
stereotypesare mainly to blame for these disparities. They also noted that these social stereotypes
start affecting girls as young as the age of six, and that the shift in thought is drastic. In a more

The writers do also state alternatives for the results of studies one to four, among them that boys
are held back which may inflate confidence and women s modesty norms. They also give reason
for why these alternatives are not possible. The writers omit writing about the alternatives all
together in the media article. All in all, I believe that both works are very well written informative
pieces. Both are concise, easy to read, and very get to the point. The main difference is that the
media article pushes a call to action by stating suggesting methods in which we can change how this
brilliance=males stereotype is affecting young girls. This is definitely an understandable difference
due to the fact that the media article is directed towards the general public, while the science
journal is mostly directed towards the scientific community. I believe that the writers did a fantastic
job in the NY times article, however I believe that the article would have benefitted from using more
real life anecdotes to show the extent to which this brilliance=males stereotype can affect women.
Altogether, I strongly agree with both the media article and the scientific journal, something has to
