This presentation as part of iMoot2010 online conference provides an overview of the Moodle-related services offered through Education Network Australia (edna). It takes a tour through adult learning courses, and professional association communities in edna Groups, plus online projects for K-12 teachers and students in OzProjects. It shares what we have learned about Moodle and users in 5 years of supporting Moodle courses and communities.
me.edu.au provides Australian education and training professionals with an online profile and networking space. Members of the education community are encouraged to use me.edu.au to create an online professional profile, connect with educators who have similar interests, share resources and publish ideas and opinions. me.edu.au puts the individual at the centre of the service and encourages them to collect, connect and publish beyond faculty, institution, state and sector boundaries.
What has sparked this interest in ePortfolios and school libraries? Partly the introduction of a Personal Learning Plan for South Australian senior secondary students, combined with increasing discussion on ePortfolios in Australia and worldwide, and the ongoing debate about 21st century information literacy.

Entre el 1 y el 3 de septiembre del 2011, en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, se desarrolló el III Coloquio Latinoamericano de Biopolítica. En el evento se dieron cita académicos, investigadores y estudiantes provenientes de países tales como Colombia, Brasil, Uruguay, Venezuela, México, Argentina y Chile. En la ocasión, más de sesenta asistentes firmaron una declaración pública en apoyo del movimiento estudiantil chileno, encabezado por Adrián Cannelotto, rector de la Universidad Pedagógica de Buenos Aires.
Reflecting on what has happened to Higher Education in 2020 in Australia, in responding to the pandemic, may seem a bit premature to some. But on the other hand, we need to learn these lessons quickly as there are no guarantees moving forward. Thankfully many of us have had reasonably robust technology enhanced learning environments to fall back onto. But let’s face it, this hasn’t always been elegant as it could be. So, reflecting on some of the things we have learned in 2020, it is worth distilling some thoughts as we move in to 2021, particularly around TEL and the funding environment for HE. Let's do a SWOT and see what others think too.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

The optimization of hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems plays a pivotal role in utilizing natural resources effectively. This initiative not only benefits humanity but also fosters environmental sustainability. The study investigated the design optimization of these hybrid systems, focusing on understanding solar radiation patterns, identifying geographical influences on solar radiation, formulating a mathematical model for system optimization, and determining the optimal configuration of PV panels and pumped hydro storage. Through a comparative analysis approach and eight weeks of data collection, the study addressed key research questions related to solar radiation patterns and optimal system design. The findings highlighted regions with heightened solar radiation levels, showcasing substantial potential for power generation and emphasizing the system's efficiency. Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Optimizing the design of solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems as examined across diverse climatic conditions in a developing country, not only enhances power generation but also improves the integration of renewable energy sources and boosts energy storage capacities, particularly beneficial for less economically prosperous regions. Additionally, the study provides valuable insights for advancing energy research in economically viable areas. Recommendations included conducting site-specific assessments, utilizing advanced modeling tools, implementing regular maintenance protocols, and enhancing communication among system components.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
Water scarcity is the lack of fresh water resources to meet the standard water demand. There are two type of water scarcity. One is physical. The other is economic water scarcity.
2. Benefits
-Offering OER content to students makes education more affordable to all.
-Sharing resources fosters collaboration amongst faculty.
-Increased collaboration can promote better teaching practices.
-Content that is published and shared with a wider community will be revised and
could become richer as it gets used in different ways.
-Education becomes more accessible, which could have a positive social impact.
3. Challenges
-The more OER content becomes available, the harder it gets to refine searches
and make sure the content is accurate or pertinent.
-Identifying the validity of licenses online (credibility of sources) can be
challenging.
-The attributions text could be distracting below images or content if there is too
much being cited.
-Part-time community college faculty do not usually get financial support for duties
outside of their contracted teaching hours. Creating OER content is time
consuming and would be free labor.
-
