Teachers should be excited to learn and continue learning themselves in order to motivate students. They need to teach students how to interact with others face-to-face and develop people skills, which are important for being globally competitive. Having passion for their subjects and instilling curiosity in students will help students become the future leaders that are needed.

- 4. TEACH STUDENTS HOW TO INTERACT • Students need to be able to interact with people • Theyshould not always rely on technology • They should be comfortable having a face-to-face meeting

LEARN TO LIKE PEOPLE • Our teachers need to have the ability to like people • With this they can teach their students that it is important to forge relationships with people to be globally competitive • Students must know that people skills are just as important, if not more, than computer skills.
- 6. HAVE PASSION • Studentsshould know that they need to be globally competitive • They should know what this means so that they want to learn • Once they decide to learn they will be that much closer to being the leaders of the future that America needs.

- 9. CLASSROOM EXAMPLE • Setup a pen pal program in the classroom so that the students can communicate with people from other cultures and get to know what life is like for them. • Thiscan include letters, text, video conferencing or any other form of communication.
- 10. REWARD • Reward yourself in knowing you have taught the next generation of global leaders and learners. • Students can be proud in knowing that there is a place for them in the larger world and that they are ready to meet it.
