In this work I will talk of a curious animal that is the beaver, I will talk of it’s habitat; in the habitat I will talk about their “house”, than in which food chain’s/web’s it is inserted in. I will also present some behavioural and structural adaptations. And finally, I will talk about their population.
I hope you lear a lot of things, trough this work, if you have an questions just send an e-mail.
4. BRIEF INTRODUCTION
In this work I will talk of a curious animal that is
the beaver, I will talk of it’s habitat; in the habitat
I will talk about their “house”, than in which food
chain’s/web’s it is inserted in. I will also present
some behavioural and structural adaptations. And
finally, I will talk about their population.
I HOPE YOU ENJOY!
6. HABITAT
Beaver live near rivers and lakes.
If there is desflorestation in the places that the
beavers live, they can die because they don’t have
food and if they don’t cut wood their teeth will
grow and they can die because of pain.
7. HABITAT
The can build to types of houses: one can be den
near the rivers and lakes the is a “house” in the
middle of the water to protect they contruct a dam
to protect their house.
13. CHARACTERISTICS
Beavers are mammal. They eat normally at night,
they are big in size and they are semi aquatic
rodent.
There head and body measures between 60 and
100 cm, their tail is between 20 and 30 cm and
their weight is normally 27 kg. They normally
live 24 years.
14. ADAPTATIONS
1. They can eat underwater, this helps them in the
winter to eat inside their lodge.
2. They can stay underwater for a long time, because
they have a huge lungs, and a large liver to store
oxygenated blood.
3. They have a large chisel shaped to cut the trees.
15. ADAPTATIONS
4. They produce a castor oil that the beaver’s make,
they pass this oil trough their body with their
grooming claw, this makes their skin waterproof.
5. They have a clear eyelid, this protects their eyes,
this helps them to have a good underwater vision.
16. ADAPTATIONS
6. They have a thick, flat and heavy tail to store fat for
heat, they also use it to warn their family that a
predator is coming and to scare the predator (they
beat it with force and many times in the water).
7. Valves in ears and noses, that close when they are
underwater.
19. POPULATION
Beaver poulations were decreasing because their
skin is very good to make clothes and more people
hunt it for it and because of desflorestation at the
moment they are protected.
21. CONCLUSION
In this work I learned many things about beavers,
learned some new adaptations like their
waterproof skin and their special valves in the
ears. I founded that they can contruct large dams
and that they have many predators.
I HOPE YOU HAD ENJOYED!
