7. Food Webs
● All communities of organisms are made up of 3
groups: producers, consumers, and decomposers
● producers – plants, plantlike single-celled
organisms (anything that does photosynthesis)
● consumers – animals, animal-like single-celled
organisms, fungi (anything that eats or absorbs
nutrients from another living thing)
● decomposers - earthworms, fungi, insect larvae,
bacteria (anything that eats or absorbs nutrients from
dead things)
