1. Beat Sheet
My game “Achilles” is made up of one level; Mount Olympus, which is set in day time.
The story of the level is basic; Athena has told Achilles to reach the mountain top and if
he does he will win her heart forever. The only problem is that there are enemies on
the way up the mountain that Achilles must face; the progression is basic, just get to
the top before time runs out or the minotaurs get you.
I think it would take an average player about 2-10 minutes to complete my level; I say
this because when you die you go back to the start and time starts to build up the
more you die. The level is going to be made up basic colours such as dark & light grey,
white, black, brown and red because it suits the theme of the traditional 8 bit game
and the age the game is set in. The controls are basic too, left and right are controlled
by the arrow keys and jump is the space bar.
Hazards will be the minotaur pacing up and down each level which will be very
dangerous; if you touch them you will instantly go back to the start. Power ups and
weapons are not in the game as you use stealth to dodge the creatures instead of
attacking them head on. There is no bonus material or special prizes; only Athena is
the prize. The music will be a continuous myth/ancient jingle throughout the game
which will loop on itself, the start menu will have it’s own jingle and different actions
will have little sounds.
