The document discusses integrated crop management strategies for cotton. It recommends dividing the cotton growth period into three windows and focusing crop protection efforts accordingly. Natural enemies should be conserved in the first window using botanicals, biologicals and other natural methods. The second and third windows employ integrated pest management combining natural, biological and selective chemical controls. Proper scouting and only using pesticides when economic thresholds are reached are emphasized. Maintaining good soil health through organic matter and reducing chemical fertilizers is also recommended.

We provide the soil with free-living microbes, some of which contain symbiotic manners. Microbes with symbiotic manners work closely at root level to help the crop with nutrient uptake.
Once applied to the soil, the microbial network introduced by WellCrop products naturally multiplies and increases the health of the soil and plant, creating deeper and denser root systems.
By strengthening the health of the soil and helping the plant take in more nutrients, we increase growth and development without the need for chemical inputs.

2. Cotton Crop Introduction
28-12-2022 Confidential- Exclusive for use of Shanmukha Agritec Limited 2
India is no. 1 in the world on the basis of area under Cultivation over 12 million hectares and
production of over 6.1 million MT of cotton with productivity of 469 kg lint / ha.
However, on the basis of productivity India is below the world average over 800 kg lint /ha. and
other leading cotton growing countries in the world like China, USA, Brazil & Pakistan.
Key issue in cotton cultivation is small farm holdings and farmers growing multiple cotton hybrids
leading to admixture & contamination at the farm gate leading to poor quality of cotton
Weak cotton value chain linkage is another key issue

What Is Window Based Cotton Integrated Crop
Management Strategy ? Key Elements :
Divide the cotton growth period into 3 windows :
Window -1 : 10 days before sowing to 45 DAS ( Days After Sowing )
Window - 2 : 46 DAS to 100 DAS
Window – 3 : 101 – Crop termination
Design specific & focused actions for each window
In the first window give emphasis on soil health and conserving natural enemies of pest by judicious
selection of crop protection tools ( mainly Botanicals/ Biological / Cultural / Mechanical ) through Integrated
Pest Management approach.
In the second & third window give emphasis on Integrated Pest Management by judicious use of Botanical
/Biological / Mechanical / Chemical tools.

Base Your Soil Health Strategy Based On Soil Test :
Why Soil Test Is Important ?
Helps to know the nutrient status of your soil.
Helps to plan what nutrients to be given.
Nutrient requirement will vary based on soil & crop.
Helps to know if your soil is building up salts.
Helps to know if your management is improving or degrading or maintaining your soil.
However soil test report will not tell you about the biological health of your soil like :
- Amount of Soil Organic Matter
- Soil Microbial Activity
- Diversity of Flora & Fauna
- Organic Matter Decomposition
- Soil Borne Pathogens
7. By increasing the Organic matter content of the soil ( Carbon Content).
Carbon is the food for the micro organism in the soil

28-12-2022 Confidential- Exclusive for use of Shanmukha Agritec Limited 20
All sucking pest nymphs & adults suck the sap from the leaves, flower and develop specific symptoms,
impair photosynthesis & reduce seed cotton yield significantly if not controlled in time.
Aphids, Jassids, Thrips & Whitefly also transmit Virus and Mycoplasma diseases for which there is no
chemical control. Complete control of insect vector is the only way of containing the virus / Mycoplasma
diseases.
Aphids and Whitefly also secrete honey due like symptoms on lint and on lint of opened bolls which
deteriorate the quality of cotton lint and make it sticky causing problem in spinning machines to produce
yarn.
Mealy bug if unchecked can lead to complete wilting of plants.
Sucking pest can be controlled by use of bio stimulant products like Danik or Botanical product like neam or
any systemic insecticide.

28-12-2022 Confidential- Exclusive for use of Shanmukha Agritec Limited 25
Bollworm damage the reproductive structures of cotton plants viz. Squares, Flowers & Bolls causing
significant economic loss.
Spodoptera damages leaves as well as reproductive structures of cotton plants.
Management of cotton boll worms can be achieved by timing the application of right products at the right
stage of the insect pest viz. Egg stage or early larval instars ( 1st to 3rd instar ). Later instars are difficult to
control and may require high dose.
Specific Pheromone traps can be used to monitor for control of Pink Bollworm or Americal Bollworm.
Control can be achieved with Botanical products, Bio-Stimulant product or Chemical Product.

Plant Diseases Damage & Control
Different foliar fungi ( Alternaria, Colletotricum, Ramularia cause leaf spots, Boll Rot, mildew & die back
symptoms in cotton.
Bacteria like Xanthomonas malvacearum cuases leaf spots, blacking of branches called black arm or rotting
of bolls.
Soil fungi like Fusarium, Verticillium, Cephalosphorium, Rhizoctonia, Myrothecium can cause wilt and rotting
symptoms in Cotton
If left uncontrolled it would lead significant damage with significant reduction in yield and some times
complete death of the plants
Based on the climatic conditions farmers resort to prophylactic application of contact fungicides to prevent
the attack of the diseases. Systemic fungicides are used to control the diseases after the disease is set in.
Growing resistant varieties, biological and chemical products can be used judiciously to manage the
diseases in cotton.

Nutrient Deficiency In Cotton Plants
All plants including cotton express nutrient deficiency
symptoms.
Based on the symptom expressed the nutrient
deficiency can be identified and that specific nutrient
can be given to overcome that deficiency.
Not addressing the nutrient deficiency can lead to
significant reduction in crop yield.
Shiva Shakti Biotechnologies Limited offers number
of macro and micro nutrient products that help in
managing the specific nutrient deficiency in cotton.

38. Product : VIJETHA
• Vijetha which is a chelated multi-micronutrient mixture available both in liquid and powder.
• Vijetha comprises of all essential micronutrients in chelated form, all of which have a very
significant role in the physiological growth and biochemical processes of crop plants
WHAT IS CHELATION?
• It is a process by which a chemical complex is formed by joining together metallic bivalent
cation such as Zinc, Copper or Iron with certain organic chelating agents
• This complex forms a larger chelated ion, which reduces the ability of the micronutrient to react
with the soil, making the micronutrient more available for plant uptake
39. Product : Vijetha
Dosage & Recommendations
Vijetha EDTA Foliar:
NURSERY:
Vijetha can be sprayed on nursery plants as in case of
vegetable crops and other transplanted crops, so as to get
healthy and vigorous seedlings.
MAIN CROP:
Vijetha has to be applied @ 200 g per acre per
application with 125-150 Lts of spray solution to be
sprayed at 30-40 days after transplanting. The same
process has to be repeated at 60-70 days after transplanting,
so as to get higher yields and better quality produce.
