BarnieMAT – Memory Array Analysis
Processing and
Presentation Software
Tools for Memory Array
Analysis
• Analysis you never dreamt before
• Extensive set of processing functions
• Best-in-class viewers
• Innovative filtering engine
Powerful Processing Framework
Processes multiple measurement data
o Import from a wide range of file formats or from
BarnieDAC
o Storage and processing of bitmaps, cell lists, 2D and
3D distributions, generic tables
o Fast, optimized access and algorithms for bitmap
processing
o Up to 64 Gbit arrays, up to 256 levels per cell
Interactive analysis and script-based analysis
flow automation
Open architecture to user add-ons
implemented in C++
Extensive Set of Built-in Functions
A wide range of processing tools are available
for extracting key information from the
measurement data via data reduction
o Conversions
• ...extraction of a distribution from a map...
o Operations
• ...cell per cell difference of two maps...
o Overlays
• ...block level fail density map...
o Compressions
• ...vt average per page...
o Pattern recognition
• ...automatic identification of neighbor bit fails...
o Trace-back
• …show topologic position of the distribution tail…
Best-in-Class Viewers
Topologic view of the content of the array in
2D and 3D representation, analog values are
color coded
Parallel zoom and map of two or more maps
Bookmarking of critical cells on a map
Consultation of 2D and 3D (galaxy) distributions
with on-the-fly statistical data calculus
EXCEL-like histogram view of tables
Innovative Filtering
Processing functions supported by a powerful
filtering mechanism (which cells to consider in
the processing results and how to group them)
o Filter can be a map or list object
• Ex: fail map can be used to consider only failing cells
o Filter can be described by an FDL formula
• Separate result per wordline excluding every 64th bitline:
◘ “SPLIT = WL AND ( BL % 64 ) <> 0”
• List cells on even bitlines with VT higher than 1.2V
◘ “( BL % 2 ) = 0 AND DATA > 1.2”
o FDL formula can be displayed with the map viewer
