Acumen Architects and Planners Ltd is a dedicated and promising planning, engineering &
architectural consultancy firm which had started its journey in 2006. it is a team of proficient and
dedicated professionals who have developed their skills and enriched their experience in the fields of
planning, engineering & architecture.
Our strength: Conduct and prepare pre-feasibility study, feasibility study, EIA & SIA study, economic &
financial assessment, need & demand analysis, digital survey, architectural and engineering design &
drawing, BOQ/estimation, bid/tender and DPP, RDPP. Acumen also studies on urban issues like waste
management, transportation, housing, water & sanitation, health sectors etc. Acumen has enriched its
strength in the field of digital survey (topographic survey, total station survey, RTK survey, and drone
survey), socio-economic survey (household survey and commercial survey) and technical survey (building
survey, geotechnical survey, hydrological survey, traffic survey and industrial survey). The others expertise
of acumen are to prepare master plan/ land use plan/ layout plan, waste management plan, drainage master
plan, water supply master plan, sewerage master plan, structural design with green building concepts,
electrical master plan, mechanical plan etc.

Background
1. Bangladesh faces frequent and severe flooding, affecting nearly 10% of its land
area annually, leading to substantial damage to property, infrastructure, and
agriculture, along with the loss of life.
2. The increased frequency and severity of floods in Bangladesh are attributed to
climate change, which has significant economic and social consequences, including
risks to public safety, livelihoods, and hindrances to economic development.
3. To address these challenges, it is essential to employ GIS technology to identify
and map civil structures in flood-affected areas, enabling effective monitoring and
facilitating disaster management.
Objectiv

The primary objective of this initiative is to integrate geographical and basic
information of civil structures built through the SRC-supported BDRCS program
into a real-time GIS-driven Open-Source map, focusing on mapping completed
infrastructure and ensuring regular updates by field teams, such as latrine
facilities, on a monthly basis.

Bangladesh faces frequent and severe flooding, affecting nearly 10% of its land area annually, leading to substantial damage to property, infrastructure, and agriculture, along with the loss of life. 2. The increased frequency and severity of floods in Bangladesh are attributed to climate change, which has significant economic and social consequences, including risks to public safety, livelihoods, and hindrances to economic development. 3. To address these challenges, it is essential to employ GIS technology to identify and map civil structures in flood-affected areas, enabling effective monitoring and facilitating disaster management. Objectiv e The primary objective of this initiative is to integrate geographical and basic information of civil structures built through the SRC-supported BDRCS program into a real-time GIS-driven Open-Source map, focusing on mapping completed infrastructure and ensuring regular updates by field teams, such as latrine facilities, on a monthly basis.
