The Bandra-Worli Sea Link is an 8-lane bridge that connects Bandra in the western suburbs to Worli in central Mumbai. At 5.6 km long, 3.8 km of the bridge is over the sea. Construction of the sea link began in 2004 and it was inaugurated in 2009, providing an alternative route that reduces travel time between Bandra and Worli to just 7 minutes. The complex construction project involved engineers from over a dozen countries and cost over 1,600 crore rupees to complete.
