2. FAMOUS BAND LOGOS
To the left are some well known band/artist logos. Looking closely you
can see that some artists use just their name, logo, or a combination of
both. Logos sometimes develop overtime with the artist(s). Generally
the logo is a signifier that the audience can identify the artist(s) by.
These motifs are used across single/EP/Album covers, as well as on
merchandise, and on websites and social media accounts.
3. CREATING A BAND MOTIF
To coordinate with the music video I’m sticking to a red/blue colour scheme
with the band branding. To the left I’ve created five silhouette people
walking in to the distance with a blue/red glow to tie in with editing I’m
going to do on the music video. The red/blue glow also ties in with theme
of mental health. As in the music video, the band members will also glow
red and blue, representing that they are a part of the protagonist, being the
voices that they can hear.
The five people represent the four band members and the fifth is you, the
audience. Another reason for picking five is that odd numbers of objects
are usually preferred over even numbers in art and design.
Using Dafont.com, I was able to find a unique font for the band, as
audiences often recognise the bands/artists by their typography. I’ve kept it
in all in lowercase, italics and added a strikethrough to make it more
distinctive and eye-catching.
