3. What is a meridian ?
Meridians include meridian channels and associated collaterals.
The humans main meridians have 14 in total, separated as:
Three hand yang channels ：
•Taiyang Small Intestine Channel of Hand
•Yangming Large Intestine Channel of Hand
•Shaoyang Sanjiao Channel of Hand
Three hand yin channels ：
•Taiyin Lung Channel of Hand
•Shaoyin Heart Channel of Hand
•Jueyin Pericardium Channel of Hand
Conception Vessel (Ren Mai) Governing Vessel (Du Mai)
Three foot yang channels ：
•Taiyang Bladder Channel of Foot
•Yangming Stomach Channel of Foot
•Shaoyang Gallbladder Channel of Foot
Three foot yin channels:
•Taiyin Spleen Channel of Foot
•Shaoyin Kidney Channel of Foot
•Jueyin Liver Channel of Foot

8. Are your meridians in good
flow?
Self check ：
•pale white or dark face
•dark lips, purple or dark tongue, stagnation points, Ecchymosis
•lazy speech, fatigue
•often have palpations, strong heart beat, chest discomfort
•abdominal tension
•pain in the limbs ， numbness
•Menstrual disorders
•Hand Foot coldness ， cold limbs
•male lower abdominal tension, perineum or Testicle bulge or discomfort, frequent urination,
weak urine flow.
If you have more than three of the listed symptoms, consider a weak flow of the meridians.

10. Are your meridians in good
flow?
Self check ：
•gentle massage your body from up to down ， if there is pain ， it means this part of the
meridian is not in proper flow ； especially the location around the inside of the elbow ， if
there is pain or stiffness ， consider about the “Shaoyang Sanjiao Channel of Hand”“Taiyang
Small Intestine Channel of Hand”stagnation in the channels.
•use one hand and press tight your wrist for one minute ， relax after ， feel if there is a
feeling of heat flowing to your tips of the finger ， if so the hand channels are open.
•use your hand to press the Jiquan point ， if there is numbness in your small finger ， it
means the heart channel is open ， if there is pain or no feeling ， heart blood vessels show
weak flow and needs to be regulated.
•use a fist and massage along the lower back ， if your feet are becoming warm ， it means
the Governing Vessel (Du Mai) and bladder channel at the back are functioning well, if your
bottom and knees feel hot ， it means the channels are blocked.
•lie on a bed and gentle pinch your abdomen skin, if there is no pain, the location shows no
curve leading inside ， it means the channels on this location are open.

methods ， common methods such as meridian points focused Tuina

13. How to regulate the meridians
The regulation of meridians is a complex field which until nowadays
uses strong research done by Chinese medicine researchers.
Today we would like to share some basic understanding about
nourishing and regulating the meridians with you!
“for the abdomen use sanli point, for lower back apply the weizhong
point, for the head location use lieque point, for the face locate hegu
point” ， Point explanation: zusanli, weizhong, lieque, hegu. Apply
these four basic points for problems at different locations such as the
abdomen, lower back, head and face. Treat pain, tension ， numbness,
loose stool, constipation and more. Often press these points, gaining
good function and results! Let’s have a try!
Generally used points for preventing health ： zusanli, hegu,
sanyinjiao, xuehai, shenmen, mingmen, jiquan, laogong, baihui,
guanyuan.

15. The Hegu point (LI 4) 合谷
Meridian: Yang Ming Large Intestine
Meridian of the hand
The Location of the point: On the dorsum
of the hand, between the first and second
metacarpal bones.
The Indications of the point: Treating
Headache, pain in the neck and eyes,
treats stuffy nose, toothache, sore throat,
fever and high temperature and other
symptoms.

16. The Zu San Li point (ST36) 足三里
Meridian: Yang Ming Stomach meridian of
the foot
The location of the point: On the anterior
lateral side of the leg,3 Cun below Dubi
point (ST 35), one finger from the anterior
crest of the tibia.
The Indications of the point: abdominal
tension, gastric pain, vomiting, diarrhea,
dysentery, deficiency, constipation,…

17. The Lie Que point (LU 7) 列缺
Meridian: Tai Yin Lung Meridian of the
hand
The Location of the point: On the radial
side of the forearm, proximal to the styloid
process of radius, 1.5 Cun above the
crease of the wrist.
The Indications of the point: Headache,
common cold and cough with dyspnea,
weakness and pain in the wrist.

18. The Wei Zhong point (UB 40) 委中
Meridian: Tai Yang Urinary Bladder
meridian of the foot
The location of the point: At the backside
of our knee, in a depression between the
tendons
The Indications of the point: diarrhea
and abdominal pain, lower back pain…
