2. First shot is of the entire room, used to establish aspects of the song and artist. The video is a parody of the
film ’Coming to America’ which is set in Queens, New York City. This is related to the artist as he grew up in
the neighbouring area of Brooklyn and also refers to aspects of the song with its’ context of an unconventional
love song (as the film Coming To America is a type of Romantic Comedy). It relates to the song and genre as
Hip-Hop had much of it’s start and upbringing in NYC. This shot also displays the artist as playing more than
one character (similar to Eddie Murphy in the film) and also shows the featured artist as well. This multi image
of the one person is a display of editing.
Having the video based off of the film illustrates that the video will follow a form of narrative
having the ‘actors’ primarily as Action and Chance, as well as various background rolls.

3. The shot that introduces the song name is also used as a further
establishing shot, displaying New York form an aerial view.
The costume used is all taken from various scenes in the film Coming To
America. The costume used here is from the scene where there is an
attempted armed robbery at the fast food restaurant where Eddie
Murphy/Action Bronson works.

4. The camera cuts from one scene to another very quickly, the main reason for this
is so that the viewer can get a full set of scenes from the film and can understand
the narrative. However, there are some shots that are used more over others.
These are shots that feature either one person or two, both featured at various
distances and angles. This is used in order to create a variety of impressions.

5. There are many props used throughout the video such as a
mop, hairspray and various barber shop equipment. But the
biggest, and most recurring, use of props is the band that
appears in every chorus and both scenes throughout the video.
