2. Implications Of Improper Protein Folding
Implications of Improper Protein Folding in Alzheimer s Disease Stephen Sewell Schreiner University
Dr. McGinnis Biochemistry Fall 2012 Abstract This paper is a brief review of the understanding of
Alzheimer s as it is generally seen today in the medical field, by scientists, physicians, and other
healthcare providers alike. It examines the main hypothesis for the pathogenesis of the disease and the
physical changes that the disease causes to the brain. The paper will then detail some of the treatments
that are given to the patient. These include the drug related and non drug related treatment options that
are available, and discusses at what stage of the disease that they are used. Introduction Alzheimer s
disease is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the loss of memory and other cognitive
abilities essential for the function of a healthy human being. Neuropathologically, the disease is
characterized by the presence of neurofibrillary tangles and senile plaques, impaired synaptic function
and cell loss.1 There is a major loss of cholinergic, noradrenergic, and dopaminergic neurons while at
the same time there is an accumulation of free radicals and oxidative stress, leading to lipid
peroxidation and neuronal degeneration in the tissues of the brain. Not only are there major
physiological changes in patients with Alzheimer s disease, but with these changes come cognitive
symptoms as well. These include disruptions in memory, language, thinking,

3. Robert Redford And Nolte Pros And Cons
Honestly, it s incessantly difficult to describe either Robert Redford or Nick Nolte as elderly given the
fact that many of us grew up watching these Hollywood giants on the big screen. Since the 1960s and
70s, both Redford and Nolte have amassed a impressive catalog of respective roles that we frankly
don t have enough time in the day to fully explore. Still, films like 48 Hours (Nolte) and The Natural
(Redford) will never get old and will withstand the test of time. In any event, aging is inevitable, and
plenty of once dominant actors refuse to give up the spotlight, along with doing what they love which
has prompted the release of a plethora of old timer centered films over the years, ranging from

Much of it doesn t necessarily appear as easy feats, either what with the Appalacian Train being a
brutal grind that only a minuscule number of hikers fully conquer. Plus, it s full of danger, too
conveyed on several occasion in which the duo must face harsh weather conditions, unstable
environments, and inquisitive bears. As one might expect, such insufferable conditions open the door
to plenty of sarcastic deflections. Nolte s character, in particular, is full of charming, comical quips
that will provide lots of laughter and light hearted moments the most memorable of which revolves
around his interaction with a plus sized woman at the laundromat. The interaction between the
characters is far from noteworthy, although the aftermath and paranoia that envelops Katz is likely to
illicit plenty of laugh out loud moments. Outside the near endless amount of comedic occurrences,
which is comparable to what would happen if Grumpy Old Men met Wild, the story itself tends to
faulted due to a lack of purpose and extreme transparent. The main reason behind the adventure is
mostly unclear, even though it would appear Bill is attempting to create new memories that he can

In 2013 Netflix progressed exceptionally well under the leadership of CEO Reed Hastings, who co
founded the company as a mail order movie rental business in 1998. Over the years, Netflix has, of
course, evolved into an on demand internet streaming company. In 2013 the firm saw its stock triple,
and in September the same year it counted a whopping 40.4 million subscribers. This ascent may well
be due, at least in part, to one of Hastings most successful innovations: in 2013 he launched original
TV shows Orange is the New Black and House of Cards on Netflix, to much acclaim. Some industry
experts have noted that people are turning their backs on cable since they can get their favorite shows

Did the NHL lockout have a negative effect on the organization?
The National Hockey League (NHL) lockout began on September 15, 2012 at 11:59 pm when the
NHL went into a labour dispute with the National Hockey League Players Union (NHLPA). As the
NHL season was supposed to start on October 11, 2012 it did not happen. Fans started to grow very

Analytical of Business Tools
The SWOT analyzes shows the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the NHL lockout.
7. The whole point of the SWOT analyze is to help out a business in fixing their weaknesses and pushing
with their strengths. They can turn opportunities into strengths for the organization but have to be
careful about the threats shown. In this case the NHL strengths is that they regained their image by
ending the lockout and showed fans that they have the ability to work out a deal when times got tough.
Though this lockout was seen badly to many people, some see it as an opportunity with rejuvenated
fans. Since the lockout lasted for so long many fans were eager to watch hockey so when it finally
comes back tickets sales may be higher because more fans will want to attend. The next business tool
that I used was a profit graph during the previous lockout and the years before the lockout. This will
show the NHL what they have to fix coming into the end of this lockout. Since there was a great
increase in the teams that lost money after the 2005 lockout, they will have to somehow get more fans
to come whether its from lowering ticket prices or giving deals to fans so they will come to more
games. This chart gives them an overview of how the economy of the NHL was before the previous

8. Great White Sharks
The great white shark also known by its scientific name, Carcharadon Carcharias is one of the most
feared and dangerous creatures in the world. Great white sharks descended from their ancestor who
was the Megalodon and it was the largest shark/fish that lived during the prehistoric times. It had a
similar appearance to the great white shark and was three times the size of it. Great white sharks are
blue/grey on top and are white below, there are also one of the biggest shark species measuring at up
to 5 9 metres in length and can weigh up to 5000 pounds. Great white sharks are known to humans for

These shark s colouring enable it to blend with the ocean and to become camouflaged, this helps the
shark to not be seen by prey and allowing it to have a better chance of attacking its prey. The great
white shark also uses its incredibly fast speed to travel through water and catch prey. They can reach
top speeds of 24 km/h and this is due to their body design similarly being shaped like a torpedo. These
sharks also have a caudal fin, having a large top part and small bottom part. The design of this caudal
fin enables the shark to have balance as they swim through water. Another adaptation that helps it hunt
prey is its great sense of smell. The great white shark has a sharp sense of smell, which enables it to
detect small amounts of blood in water from 5 km distances. This type of shark is also known to have
the best electroreception. The electroreceptors and lateral line canals are found in the head to the snout
of the Great white sharks body. These features enable sharks to detect the movement of other animals
nearby in the water using their electromagnetic field. These sharks have also learned how to maintain
body temperature warmer than the surrounding water. To achieve this they use nerve fibres called
ampullae. All of these adaptations help these incredible creatures to adapt to their environment they

10. The Importance Of Cultural Imperialism
The Kiowa are a Native American people who have been greatly impacted by cultural imperialism.
They were forced to adapt to western culture, and in this many of the Kiowa people were converted to
Christianity. Christianity is said to be a very important aspect of many Native American cultures still
today, but the way in which Christianity is portrayed and practiced in such societies, including that of
the Kiowa, stays true to both the religion itself and their Native practices. The Kiowa are said to have
kiowanized Christianity. The Kiowa version of Christianity is said to differ from the white man s way.
This means that they believe in God, integrate their culture and lifestyles into Christianity, and they
also relay the importance of their religion in a different manner. They use their native language in their
hymns, and these hymns are comprised primarily of those elements that pertain directly to Kiowa
culture. In the text Lassiter states, Kiowa hymns give life to a unique Kiowa experience, preserve the
language, and affirm and ongoing (and continually unfolding) Kiowa spirituality. This reveals the
effectiveness and importance of the integration of Christianity and native Kiowa practices. Language
has been a central focus of anthropological interest for many reasons. List three reasons and discuss
why they are important. Think about language in broad or general anthropological sense when

11. A Report On Motorcycle Training Environments
This study is conducted at a hospital in Brazil. It is taking a look at the same issues other countries
around the world are having with motorcycle accidents. Just like the rest of the world, Brazil is stating
how the amount of motorcycles on the roadways have increased over the last few years. Like all other
countries people are looking for a cheaper easier mode of transportation. This study looked at the
amount the insurance companies had to pay for motorcycle patients who wear a helmet to the ones
who did not. They found that on average the amount spent on medical care for a no helmet patient was
$5.5 billion. For the patients that wore a motorcycle helmet the price dropped to $3.3 billion. They
also noted that the chance of survival increase with wearing a helmet then without, with a Glasgow
Coma Scale score of 8 or lower and less likely to die from their injuries. I believe that studies like this
need to be incorporated into motorcycle training environments, informing the riders on all the facts.
Even with me leaving a place that has a mandatory helmet law, and going to a state that doesn t
require helmet use, I will still wear a helmet every time I ride.
The main protective equipment used in motorcycling is the helmet. While there are different
manufactures they fall into three main categories. There is the full face helmet the covers the head and

running, jogging, and dancing. Basically, anything that has to do with having to wear shoes. All types
of people can use/ wear my product. For example, amateurs or professionals could use my product,as
well as disabled or even first time users!
Similar Ideas and designs
Similar products to mine are the waterproof rainboots. There s not an exact or any design that will me

modern shoes. They were mostly had simple colors like brown and had rubber o plastic. My design in

However, RNG is going to need to find a way to deal with Faker s large and deep champion pool, so
perhaps the best option would be a safe, comfort pick. Ezreal will be a hotly contested pick for both

for the supports, Wolf tends to favor the ranged supports such as Karma, while Mata has taken Nami
multiple times. Although, what we have seen in the first game played between RNG and TSM is that
Mata on Alistar is a terror of the bot lane, so it is imperative that SKT either takes it off the field, or
finds a way to stop it from taking control altogether. Predictions for this match will ultimately reside
in the ability of RNG to overcome the dominant force that is Faker in the mid lane. The only problem
with this strategy is that teams who do so often need to make sacrifices elsewhere, leaving Duke in the
top lane and Bang in the bot lane to pick up the slack and carry the team to

It is designed to feel like a pacifier that helps to familiarize the child with the process of wearing a
device in their mouth every night. This initial device is typically worn anywhere from one to four
months before moving on to the next step. Daytime wear and extended treatment time could be
recommended depending on the child s specific habits and their severity. Step 2: Ortho Tain® for Kids
During the second phase, a device specifically sized for each child is also worn at night. It works to
gently guide the incoming permanent teeth into the appropriate places, correct jaw relations, and
expand the arches to make room for the larger incoming adult teeth. This helps to eliminate and
prevent any improper dentition. This device is worn for only about two to five months before the final
phase of treatment begins. Step 3: Ortho Tain® for Kids Once the child has at least four permanent
teeth in the mouth, the third and final treatment begins with a device used to accommodate the
incoming adult teeth. This is a vital stage in our treatment process because as the adult teeth are
forming, the gum tissue fibers are beginning to anchor these teeth in the mouth. When using this third
phase of treatment, the Perfect Start System ensures the adult teeth erupt into their proper position and
the natural fiber bundles are able to form, therefore locking them into the correct alignment. This

influential and shameful institutions in the history of America. From the proliferation of chattel

By exposing Southern hypocrisy and the absurdity of slavery, Twain s novel was pivotal in affecting
Americans perception of black freedmen after the Gilded Age. For example, when Huck befriends Jim

20. Artificial Intelligence And Artificial Technology
The discussion of artificial intelligence is ultimately based on the development of computers. As early
as 1930s, Turing, a scientist, tried to make an intelligent machine in his short life in accordance with
his computational theory and even hoped to prove his theory Any wisdom. After all, it was nothing but
an extremely complicated operation. All of Turing s explorations focus on wisdom, while the concept
of artificial intelligence (Artificial Intelligence) was co sponsored by John McCathy and Marvin
Minsky. They also co founded MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, the world s most influential
scientific research facility. If Turing s Wisdom Machine focuses on using the machine to implement
one of the six major human intelligence functions, such as vision, language, learning, computing,
reasoning, and cognition, Minsky argues that the problems facing the development of artificial
intelligence is that if the machine has not yet solved the problem of human beings, because once any
problem can be solved by the machine, human beings will automatically remove the field of artificial
intelligence to explore. Back to the scientific point of view, you want to make a clear change in
artificial intelligence, the first point is to clarify the complexity of the human brain, and then can be
analogy. From a scientific perspective, how complex is our human brain? An average human brain has

she resigned from her executive position and sent an email to the co chairs to affect that change.
The issue within this conflict is based on the question of who should welcome the audience to the

they want the same things. With regards to my conflict with Priscila, we both wanted to assume the
position of welcoming people to the event. Priscila and I belong to the same student advisory council
where we volunteer our time as council executives. In this conflict, Priscila wanted her opinions to be

24. Similarities Between Land And Landscape In Gil Paris
PEOPLE AND LANDSCAPE. The relationship existing between society, land and landscape is
complex. People s attitudes continuously reflect in their behavior, notably patterns of consumption via
existing recreational activities, as well as in their expressed preferences. Society attaches great
significance to land. As evident in the movie Midnight in Paris, Gil Pender an American Screenwriter
falls in love with the Paris landscape while he visits his fiancée. He has possession of the idea of

being conducive to the existing internal conversations unlike moving ships, trains or planes. A
correlation exists between the things we have ability to see and the thoughts we develop in our minds.

25. The Tragedy Of Romeo And Juliet Conflict Essay
Extreme Conflicts Leads to Tragedy
The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare in 1597 and it is about two
teens who fall in love although they come from two rival families. Romeo and Juliet s hastened love
turns into a tragic ending and takes the lives of both lovers and many others. The death of the two
main characters is by far the most important scene in the play to show theme and this theme is that
extreme conflicts lead to extreme endings. Romeo and Juliet s death had the biggest impact on the
play in showing the theme and this is because of the following four reasons, the first reason is the
deaths ended a pointless and ongoing family feud, it brought back peace to the streets of Verona, it

Verona was becoming very violent due to the Montague Capulet feud and this is very prevalent even
in the very beginning of the book, for act I Scene 1 opens up with a fight scene between two Capulet
servants and two Montague servants. Luckily it did not result in the death of anyone, but it easily
could have and probably would have if it wasn t for Benvolio being such a peacemaker. Not all
Montague Capulet encounters were like this though, throughout the play many resulted in death and
this led to the prince saying that anyone who kills someone of the other side will face death. These
remarks by the prince shows that this feud was getting way out of hand and the prince realized this
and thought that this penalty would stop the feud; However, this did cool the feud down for a short
time, Romeo killed Tybalt day after the prince ruled that murder would result in death. In this case,
this shows that the two families would rather die than make up with one another and the death of
Romeo and Juliet ends all of this. after the death of the feud ends, and so did the

26. Similarities Between Harlem And The Weary Blues
The two poems entitled Harlem and The Weary Blues where both written in the time if the Harlem

hardships and the reality of their times. The two poems are similar in a way. They both take place in
Harlem and are both written by Langston Hughes. They both describe some type of sad but energetic
tone, also known as blues. They also tell a story and allows you to visualize the senses and story.
These poems both take place in the city of Harlem. The first poem entitled Harlem , gives it away. The
weary blues also takes place in the city. In the poem it says on the first stanza in line one and two Here

Emperor Kangxi: Valedictory Edict Emperor Kangxi was considered and still is thought of as one of
the greatest emperors in Chinese history. Kangxi s reign was longer than that of any other ruler in
Chinese history. One of his most notable achievements was uniting China after the turmoil upon the
collapse of the Ming. A main reason for the Chinese granting him the mandate of heaven or granted
the right to rule China from permission of the heavens was his knowledge and respect for Chinese
heritage and culture. Emperor Kangxi recorded a Valedictory Edict in December twenty third, 1717 as

In the Valedictory Edict Kangxi views death positively and as a relief from the everyday grind of
virtuously ruling an empire. One of his most virtuous traits is he does not fear death and is comforted
by the idea of relief from the responsibility of his reign through death once his sovereignty as a
virtuous ruler is completed. One of Kangxi s great tasks left to be finished is who is to succeed him.
He views this as a great issue, and as a good emperor cannot neglect it. Kangxi understands the weight
of his decision and I believe he truly wants what is best for China. The issue of an heir seems to be on
the forefront of his mind and this dilemma weighs heavily on his conscience. Kangxi states he wrote a
letter indicating his intention for an heir, but does not go into detail in his Valedictory Edict. There is a
record that Kangxi s son Yinreng was disinherited in 1708. There are stories that emperor Kangxi
heard from his officials, that when touring the country, Yinreng would recruit young men and women
as personal sex slaves as part of a major molestation scandal. This deeply saddened Kangxi and, while
on his death bed, reportedly appointed Yinzhen; Emperor Kangxi s fourth son. Yinzhen s claim to the

28. Accommodation Advantages And Disadvantages
Tips on choosing the best accommodation type for your trip this year
Who doesn t love getting away from everything for a relaxing excursion? Whether your idea of
relaxation is heading to the quiet of the Lake District to hike to cosy country pubs or you much prefer
a city break to enjoy the hustle and bustle of a busy town choosing the right accommodation is key to
your happiness.
There are plenty of accommodation options, too, whether you are looking for a hostel, hotel, motel, a
flat or home rental, a swap, a couch surf or a hot camping spot, some tips are always valid.
1. No Dogs Allowed
Are you travelling with pets? Before you book an accommodation you will need to check to ensure
that they accept pets. It would be disappointing to arrive at your destination only to discover Rover isn
t welcome, so plan head when making your booking.
2. Location, Location, Location
One of the biggest mistakes people make is finding a good deal and not realising that it s located
nowhere near where you want to be. If you re heading to London you don t want to find yourself two
trains away from the centre of the city! So, take time to look at a map and see where your potential
accommodation is located when compared to your ideal spot. This is especially true if you re looking
to rent a flat or a house. If you do choose somewhere out of the way, make sure you know what public
transport is available and how often it runs. Otherwise, you will need to consider a car rental service.

Introduction Longchamp is a French firm created in Paris in 1948, known for its luxury fashion leather
and canvas goods, such as handbags and luggage. Thanks to its expertise, Longchamp is distributed in
more than 275 stores worldwide. We would like to expand our production; therefore we chose to open
a new factory in Romania. In this report, we will explain the reasons why we made this decision. 1)
Tax costs Regarding tax costs, Romania is as a highly taxed country, just like France. Indeed, income
and capital gains earned by corporation are taxed at a rate of 16%. More specifically, these data clearly
demonstrate that Romania has payments percentage and profit taxes higher than France. Even if
Romania is more taxed than France regarding corporate and income taxes, it is the opposite scheme
for labor taxes and contributions. This inversion is due to low labor costs. Certainly high tax costs can
be a constraint to produce in this country but we choose Romania for other reasons like the low labor
cost and the proximity with our primary market, France. 2) Legal environment Thanks to the
accession to the EU and the increasing integration in European markets, Romania s structural reform
has progressed. Romania s reform and liberalization process created large foreign exchange inflows
and a positive view of Romania s prospects. However, the judicial power is not entirely independent.

100 years, Ireland and England have had a parallel history for far longer than that. Since the Act for
the Union of Great Britain and Ireland passed in the parliaments of both England and Ireland in 1800,
Ireland has been considered a legal part of the United Kingdom. Prior to this unification by law,
Ireland had been under some sort of British control since the feudal rule under the King of Britain

Unlike in the War of Independence the IRA did not have the backing of many Irish Americans.
Probably the major problem with finding backing amongst their former allies was the fact that they all
almost universally welcomed the signing of the Treat. Even Irish strongholds like the city of Boston
were pro treaty, with one James Phelan telegramming the Lord Mayor of Dublin that he loved the
treaty saying he expressed the feeling(s) of all true friends of Ireland and England the world over .
Even the Catholic church in America refused to help the IRA. Former allies in Scotland were also of
little help as most were loyal to Joseph Vize, who was a member of President Collins inner circle.
With their assets in the United States frozen by Congress, the IRA had little chance of securing enough
money to buy firearms. In addition to this the lack of support of the Irish in the United States meant
that they would be unable to receive any substantial sum of money nor be able to secure weapons

Introduction
The technology of Pneumatics deals with the application and uses of a compressible gas such as air or
a suitable pure gas but hydraulics uses an incompressible liquid such as oil. The application started to
grow due to a gradual shift towards automated machines and equipment. The introduction of
pneumatics in manufacturing has introduced the cheaper mode of production in wide areas of
application such as Packaging machinery, Bottle filling Industry, artificial heart, logic control systems
and robotic materials handling devices etc. Due to several advantages, pneumatics is preferred over
hydraulics. The coming future technology in this field is further improving the hydraulics in terms of

The first compressors were seen around 3000 B.C. to provide small blows of air to aid in starting fire.
In around 1500 B.C, these simple devices were evolved into larger units and used in metal smelting.
Around the 18th century, mechanical compressors were used to do useful work, any many
experiments were done to test the power and applicability of pneumatic systems. Pneumatics was used
to power a tunneling project in Mt. Cenis, located in the Alps. If traditional drilling methods were used
(manual) the project would have taken around 30 long years. By using pneumatic drills, the tunnel
was completed in just 14 years and was open to traffic in 1871. This project caught the attention of
many government agencies and they began to talk of compressor stations for city wide power
consumption. (6)
Paris was actually the first city to try pneumatics in 1888 when a 65 horsepower (HP) rated
compressor fed 4 miles of main wire with 30 miles of branch circuits delivering 90 psi. By 1891 the
capacity of the motor was increased to 25,000 HP. Electricity would become the most convenient on
large scale energy transmission while pneumatics were used in more industrial applications including

The play Hamlet by William Shakespeare is about a king that was murdered by his brother and the
main character Hamlet, who is the prince and also the king s son was told by the ghost of his father to
avenge his murder. In the play Hamlet, there are many differences compared to the movie Hamlet
2000 directed by Michael Almereyda. The reason to these differences is to show a modern setting in
the movie Hamlet 2000 , to show the audience a better understanding of the characters, and the
difference in the way the movie ends compared to the original play by Shakespeare.
The first difference is the setting compared to the play and the movie. In the original play the setting
takes place in Elsinore, Denmark in the royal palace in the late Middle Ages around the 14th and 15th
century. The play starts off with the guards in the castle and Horatio who is one of the guards is the
first to see the ghost. But as shown in the movie the setting starts off in New York City in the 2000 s.

Contrast in used to highlight the vessels in the body so they will show up bright on the image. The

The English language is not something that is complicated. It is just something that needs to be
practiced to perfection. Over a long period of time, it has slowly become something that is hard for
people to understand. It is just as difficult for people today as it would have been one hundred years
ago. Orwell makes this extremely clear in Politics and the English Language. Even though this was
written in 1946, there are many points and arguments that still have relevance today. One of his main
arguments is that the reason that this language has had an extreme downfall is because of politics and
economics. He argues that political language has become dull and somewhat useless. To clarify his

This essay was written right around the corner away from World War Two, which was an event that I
am sure was full of politics and economics. Orwell states that in his time, political writing was largely
the defence of the defensible. He is saying that the wrong acts of politician writers can be defended,
but only by the type of arguments that meet the same standards of their own. He goes on to illustrate
his argument by using examples of dropping atom bombs on Japan and the continuance of British rule
in India. Around this time in history in America when people saw this in the newspaper, they probably
thought that it was all ok. Maybe this would be because nothing happened to their country. Or because
the articles in the paper were written by the type of bad writers that Orwell expose in his essay. The
articles were probably sugar coated with huge words to overlook the fact that people were struggling
and being killed. Which means that the vagueness and euphemisms in these political writings are
obvious. No one really wanted to straight up say that America killed at least 129,000 people when
bombing japan. You can still see that this same problem occurs here in 2015. They will say that 200
citizens were killed in countries overseas by the Americans instead of saying that most of them were
innocent people and possibly even children and babies that were murdered and we don t really care
who they were. It s all about the way that the authors write their articles and how they want their
audiences to feel. Just to make them think that bad things are acceptable. This is what I get from
Orwell s essay. Not only does he want these so called politicians and their followers to write better but
he also wants them to create a better society for people by not covering up these brutal

Look out above.
Regardless of who you are or where you come from there s one instrumental factor we all share. We
all were raised by a parent, parents, or guardian that was key in who we became. While like many
things Americans cannot seem to agree on which stratagem is best in child rearing it is indelible that
the common goal of every parent is for their son or daughter to succeed and find happiness in life.
However, this has given rise to some extreme forms of parenting producing helicopter parents and
tiger moms; Parents that feel the need to control every aspect of their child s life to either keep them
safe or make them the best when compared to others. In the end everyone wants to be a good parent,
but helicopter parents and other groups like them are, in the long term, hindering more than helping
their child towards a successful future.
In the past 25 years alone parenting has been making a major shift according to marriage therapist
John Becker the general goals of parenting haven t see too much variance over the years but the focus

The key for a restaurant to run smoothly and efficiently, especially when there is only one register, like
Maurice s, is to have a well designed menu to explain the sandwiches and combinations enough so the
customer will not spend a lot of time asking the cashier questions. The main menu on display in
Maurice s Piggie Park BBQ does just that. Another important aspect the menu has is the prices, which
were a little higher than I had expected, some items were priced at almost twenty dollars. When I
visited Maurice s, I ordered a serving of banana pudding and five hush puppies and the order ended up
costing just over seven dollars, which is a whole meal and a milkshake at Cookout. I imagine the
owner s have to have it at this price, since everything is homemade and real southern cooking. The
prices also keep the noisy, crazy college students away, making the restaurant more of a family
establishment, attracting families and older people, the type of people who do not mind to spend a
little more for better quality food. Maurice s menu not only serves the obvious functions of showing
customers what is served and at what cost, but it also brings people together. The menu represents the
food people come in to order, so they can sit down and eat together. This heart of the restaurant shows
the love that is shown here when families choose to eat at Maurice s together, instead of eating by

44. The Importance Of Islam A Way Of Life
Islam is not only a religion, but a way of life. According to Al Shahri (2002), Islam means total
obedience or submission to the true and one Allah (Allah is the Arabic name for God). The source of
law in the Islamic legal system arising from Islam is the Qur an and Sunnah. The Qur an is the word
of Allah as revealed to Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon him [PBUH]) through the angel Gabriel.
Sunnah is the collection of words, actions, traditions, and deeds of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
Islam is the way of life within the system of values that advocate forgiveness, peace, repentance, and
mercy. These values are not only central to Islamic philosophy, but are universally held at the root of
nursing care. Islamic Philosophy provides guidance on moral, spiritual, personal, social, political, and
economic affairs for all aspects of Muslim s life (Rashidi Rajaram, 2001).
There are many concepts important to the underlying philosophy in Islam. The idea of tawheed is
central in Islam. Tawheed means unification and the Ones of God, which required maintaining God s
unity in all human activities: practically, intellectually, and spiritually (Rassool, 2000). Islam defines
human beings with specific paradigms, which include mind, soul and spirit, body, and heart. The
practice of the Muslim life reflects these paradigms in the individual s relationship with Allah.
According to Luna (1994), Tawheed implies that there is no separation of the spiritual dimension from
the body: in other words, there is body mind unity. In the past, the rise of positivism resulted in the
conceptual separation of mind and body and this concept then found its way into modern healthcare.
According to Rashidi and Rajaram (2001), this separation of body and mind has had a negative
influence on the holistic approach to providing nursing care (Rashidi Rajaram, 2001). In the Islamic
philosophy of nursing care, this idea of positivism has been rejected.
Muslims believe in predestination according to Allah s will. In the understanding of the spiritual life,
there is a belief in life after death and a Day of Judgment. At that time, it is believed that Allah judge s
people based on their deeds during earthly life. There are five

45. Sarcasm In Sarcasm
ABSTRACT
Sarcasm is a type of sentiment where people express their negative feelings using positive or
intensified positive words in the text. It is a kind of sentiment which acts as an interfering factor in any
text that can flip the polarity. While speaking, people often uses heavy tonal stress and certain gestural
clues like rolling of the eyes, hand movement, etc. to reveal sarcasm. In the textual data, gestural clues
are missing, making sarcasm detection very difficult for an average human. Due to these challenges,
researchers show interest in sarcasm detection of social media. The www is growing at an alarming
