These autonomous vehicles could significantly impact transportation by improving safety, reducing traffic and lowering emissions while allowing people time for other activities while commuting. However, widespread adoption of driverless cars will likely disrupt the auto industry and related sectors by reducing private car ownership and insurance costs while changing energy demand. For driverless cars to be widely adopted, their benefits must be effectively marketed to consumers and issues like pricing and who is responsible in the event of an accident need to be addressed.
Orange3 car use does not help smallbusiness
The document discusses a study on shopping habits and transportation methods, finding that cyclists comprised the majority of customers for small businesses in commercial areas of cities. While motorists made up 25-40% of customers depending on the day of the week, they were less likely to make purchases requiring multiple bags and three-quarters had nothing to carry that would prevent using alternative transportation instead of cars. Sonics Customer Example Mobileye
Mobileye is using Sonics' interconnect technology in its next single-camera driving assistance system-on-chip (SoC). This represents the first use of Sonics' Smart Interconnect in an automotive application and will help Mobileye consolidate multiple driver assistance applications like adaptive cruise control onto a single SoC. Mobileye's vice president says their SoCs require a proven, efficient interconnect due to the high-performance video processing and real-time data transactions. Sonics' technology has already been used in wireless, digital media, and communications products by companies like Broadcom, Samsung, Texas Instruments and Toshiba.
How NFC Improves the Event Attendee Experience
The global pandemic kept theaters, stadiums, and arenas largely empty for months. Attempts to host safer, socially distanced events (when not totally banned) met with mixed success. The availability of vaccines will allow for life to slowly return to normal. But even after the vaccine, attendees likely have developed an enduring and increased sensitivity to safety and hygiene. Illustrated by real-life examples, this session will illustrate how NFC and its touchless operation can offer value for the event business – now more than ever.
