Pick a resource and make a copy with the language code of your target language, for example:

Enter your translation in the msgstr lines:
$ vi translations/ACS_DOCS.pod-add/ml_IN.po
Push your translation
$ tx push -l ml_IN -r ACS_DOCS.pod-add -t
(replace the language code and the resource name with yours)

While working with Hadoop, you'll eventually encounter the need to schedule and run workflows to perform various operations like ingesting data or performing ETL. There are a number of tools available to assist you with this type of requirement and one such tool that we at Clairvoyant have been looking to use is Apache Airflow. Apache Airflow is an Apache Incubator project that allows you to programmatically create workflows through a python script. This provides a flexible and effective way to design your workflows with little code and setup. In this talk, we will discuss Apache Airflow and how we at Clairvoyant have utilized it for ETL pipelines on Hadoop.

Apache Cassandra makes it possible to execute millions of operations per second in scalable fashion. Harnessing the power of C* leaves many developers pondering about the following: - Is my data model appropriate and not going to end up as wide partition(s) causing heap pressure and other issues? - How do I tune my connection pool configuration? Organizations have a need to protect Personally Identifiable Information (PII). As Event Streaming Architecture (ESA) becomes ubiquitous in the enterprise, the prevalence of PII within data streams will only increase. Data architects must be cognizant of how their data pipelines can allow for potential leaks. In highly distributed systems, zero-trust networking has become an industry best practice. We can do the same with Kafka by introducing message-level security. A DevSecOps Engineer with some Kafka experience can leverage Kafka Streams to protect PII by enforcing role-based access control using Open Policy Agent. Rather than implementing a REST API to handle message-level security, Kafka Streams can filter, or even transform outgoing messages in order to redact PII data while leveraging the native capabilities of Kafka. In our proposed presentation, we will provide a live demonstration that consists of two consumers subscribing to the same Kafka topic, but receiving different messages based on the rules specified in Open Policy Agent. At the conclusion of the presentation, we will provide attendees with a GitHub repository, so that they can enjoy a sandbox environment for hands-on experimentation with message-level security.

In 1853 Britain’s workshops built 90 new gunboats for the Royal Navy in just 90 days: an astonishing feat of engineering. Industrial standardization made this possible - and in this talk, my first at Strata, I argued that data-sophisticated corporations need a new standardization of their own, in the form of schema registries like Confluent Schema Registry or Snowplow’s own Iglu. Talk abstract: At the start of the Crimean War in 1853, Britain's Royal Navy needed 90 new gunboats ready to fight in the Baltic in just 90 days. Assembling the boats was straightforward - the challenge was to build all of the engine sets in time. Marine engineer John Penn did an unusual thing: he took a pair of reference engines, disassembled them and distributed the pieces to the best machine shops across Britain. These workshops - latter-day micro-services - each built 90 sets of their allocated parts, which were then assembled into the engines for the new gunboats, ready for battle. This was the nineteenth century - how could the Admiralty be certain that the parts from all these independent workshops would come together to form 90 high-powered engines? The answer lay in a crucial piece of standardization: the Whitworth thread, the world’s first national screw thread standard, devised by Sir Joseph Whitworth in 1841. By the time the Royal Navy came knocking, this standard had been adopted by workshops across Britain; John Penn could be confident that engine parts built by any workshop to the Whitworth standard would fit together. In this talk, Snowplow co-founder Alexander Dean will draw on the story of the Crimean War gunboats to argue that our data processing architectures urgently require a standardization of their own, in the form of schema registries. Like the Whitworth screw thread, a schema registry, such as Confluent Schema Registry or Snowplow’s own Iglu, allows enterprises to standardise on a set of business entities which can be used throughout their batch and stream processing architectures. Like the artisanal workshops in 1850s Britain, micro-services can work on narrowly defined data processing tasks, confident that their inputs and outputs will be compatible with their peers. This talk will start with the rationale for putting a schema registry at the heart of your business, before moving on to the practicalities of an implementation, including: a side-by-side comparison of the available registries; best practises about schema versioning; strategies around schema federation across different companies such as Snowplow’s own Iglu Central.

We go through the basics of Query API calls, unauthenticated on the integration port and authenticated calls using the access and secret keys of a users and computing a signature. We show how to compute a signature in Python. We also highlight various CloudStack clients in many different languageas (java, php, ruby, clojure etc..) and show how to explore the API using firebug console in firefox or via the CloudStack interfactive shell cloudmonkey. This is a good complement to my talk on CloudMonkey.

Whether you are deploying a new application in Microservices or transitioning from a monolithic database application to a cloud-ready architecture, you will inevitably face the decision of either creating a service mesh of API’s – or – using an event bus for better durability, reliability and extensibility of your application. If you choose to go the event bus route, Kafka is an excellent choice for several reasons. One key technology not to overlook is Avro Schemas. They provide a definition for your event payload, just like an API, to ensure all of the event consumers can reliably consume the events. They also handle schema evolution as requirements change and much, much more. In this talk we will discuss all the nuances and considerations around using Avro Schemas for your JSON event payloads. From developer tools, to DevOps approaches, versioning, governance and some “gotchas” we found when working with Avro Schemas and the Confluent Schema Registry.

How to get started developing Camel microservices (or any Java technology for that matter) on a local Kubernetes cluster from zero to deployment. As a Java developer it may be daunting to know how to get started how to develop container applications that runs on Kubernetes cluster. Using minikube its very easy to run a local cluster and with the help of fabric8 tooling its even easier to install and run using familiar tools like Maven. In this talk we will build a set of Apache Camel and Java based Microservices that uses Spring Boot and WildFly Swarm. With the help of fabric8 maven tooling you will see how to build, deploy, and run your Java projects on a Kubernetes cluster (local or remote). And even live debugging is easy to do as well. We will discuss practices how to build distributed and fault tolerant microservices using technologies such as Kubernetes Services, Netflix Hysterix, and Camel EIP patterns for fault tolerance. In the talk you will also hear about related open source projects where you can go explore more such as fabric8, openshift.io, istio, etc. This presentation is a 50/50 mix between slides and demo.

API Design in the Modern Era - Architecture Next 2020
