This project document describes an autonomous solar car with an anti-falling mechanism. The solar car uses solar panels to generate electricity that charges rechargeable batteries. A microcontroller controls DC motors based on input from infrared sensors to navigate autonomously and change direction to prevent falling. The aim is to conserve non-renewable resources like petrol and diesel, promote green energy, and enhance safety. Components include solar panels, batteries, motors, sensors, and a microcontroller. Advantages are that solar energy is renewable, pollution-free, and requires little maintenance. Future prospects involve improving solar panel efficiency and reliability while reducing costs and weight.

The wind and solar powered car has high efficiency and is a maintenance free vehicle. The car works on the concept of charging and discharging of the battery on board. When the vehicle runs the motor consumes power from the battery and after certain kilometers, it needs to be recharged. In this car, power is generated from wind turbines and the solar modules and are directed to the battery for the charging. The battery is recharged on board and the car doesn’t need to be standby for charging. To conserve the energy and to utilize it at best we are designing a vehicle which will run on the battery which will get charged by free energy sources. tidal energy and wind. Today, solar energy and wind
energy have significantly alternated fossil fuel with
big ecological problems.
With the development of the science and

wind power is gradually known by more and more
people. And it is widespread used in many developed
countries. The merits of the solar and wind power
generation are very obvious-infinite and nonpolluting.

solar power generation only works by daylight. In
addition, this kind of power generation has no
exhaust emission and there is no influence to the
nature. But it also has some shortcomings. Because
of the imperfect of the technology, equipment of the
solar and wind power generation is very expensive.
By far, it cannot be widely used.

weather very much, so it has obvious defects in
reliability compared with fossil fuel, and it is difficult
to make it fit for practical use the lack of economical
efficiency .Because of these problems it needs to
increase the reliability of energy supply by

7. Solar panel:
• A solar panel is a packaged, interconnected assembly of solar
cells, also known as photovoltaic cells.
• The solar panel can be used as a component of a larger
photovoltaic system to generate and supply electricity.
• A photovoltaic system typically includes an array of solar
panels, an inverter, battery and interconnection wiring.
8. How much electricity do we
use?
• A typical Indian home uses about 1 kW of power, or about 24
kWh per day
• If we average over everything – homes, factories, schools, etc.
we use about 37 kWh per day for each person.
10. MOTOR DRIVE:
Here we used H-BRIDGE to drive the motors, whatever
signals it receives from the microcontroller on the basis of
that it will drive the motors.
An H-BRIDGE is an electronic circuit which enables a
voltage to be applied across a load in either direction.
H-BRIDGES are available as integrated circuits, or can be
built from discrete components
11. Rechargeable battery:
Solar cars use a range of batteries including
• Lead-acid batteries,
• nickel-metal hydride batteries (NiMH),
• Nickel-Cadmium batteries (NiCd),
• Lithium acid batteries
• lithium polymer batteries without any pollution.
A rechargeable battery or storage battery is a group of one or
more electrochemical cells.
Rechargeable batteries come in many different shapes and sizes, ranging
anything from a button cell to megawatt systems connected to stabilize an
electrical distribution network
12. SENSOR:
In this project we use infra red led and photodiode to check
the interruption
Infra red led transmits the rays in the air and these rays are
reflected back by the surface and focus on the photodiode
photodiode provide a signal to the controller and controller
change the direction of the solar car automatically
13. DC MOTOR:
Electric motor, operation is based on simple electromagnetism.
A current-carrying conductor generates a magnetic field.
The internal configuration of a DC motor is designed to harness
the magnetic interaction between a current-carrying conductor
and an external magnetic field to generate rotational motion.

We use I.C 89s2051 as a main processor to control all the
sensor’s and output motor’s.

• Solar energy is a completely renewable resource.
• Oil, which is what most people currently use to power their

power or energy.
