Hosts on separate subnets communicate through routers to share resources. The devices must have the correct IP addresses and subnet masks configured for their respective subnets in order to communicate. After inspecting the IP addresses of myPC, myServer, and myRouter, it was determined they were on different subnets. myPC's IP address was changed to an available address within the subnet supported by myRouter's LAN interface to allow communication between myPC and myServer across the subnets.
