2. THE PURPOSE OF INSTRUCTIONAL ANALYSIS
Is to identify the skills and knowledge that
should be included in our instruction.
There are two components that determine
the major components of the
instructional goal via the use of goal
analysis

10. THE STEPS TO
FOLLOW
Step: one – might be adding two numbers
or it might be striking a particular key on a
keyboard.
Step two – The learner would perform.
Step: Three, Four,
Step: Five – the process would be
completed and if not done properly it
would be considered a demonstration of
the performance goal.
Decision making is a behavior that cannot
be observe.
11. HOW TO CONDUCT A GOAL ANALYSIS
Recording your own steps in performing the goal
Find others who you know can do it
Ask them the steps that they will use
12. REQUIREMENT FOR ANALYSIS
The designer must either have intensive knowledge
The knowledge may have a downside if the designer has already taught
the topic
Have a routinely observed that novice designers to list the steps they
would follow in teaching goal rather than the steps that a learner
would use in performing the goal.
Finally, you may want t portray, in graphic form, and the steps that
someone would follow if they perform your goal.
13. PROBLEMS FOR CONDUCTING A GOAL
ANALYSIS
The inclusion of skills and the information that are “near and dear” to the
designer but are not really for the performance of the goal.
The designer will arise when the designer is working a SME.
Who insists on including a certain topic, skill or information
14. THE MAIN PURPOSE
The purpose is to provide an unambiguous description of exactly what the
learner will be doing when performing the goal.
One the goal is completed the designer can identify the exact nature of
each skill and any prerequisite skills that must be mastered.
