Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

4. Film 1 FILM TITLE FILM GENRE
Grab My Hand: A Letter to My Dad Animation
What did I like about the movie?
I liked how the movie’s message is overflowing with love and care for your loved ones, which is so heartwarming and brings a tear to your
eye. I also like how the
graphics are simple, they are not complex and have no gradient shading or lighting. This creates a peaceful atmosphere due to how not busy
it is. The storyline clearly outlines what went on in the life of the individual and how he chooses to see it.
What didn’t I like about the movie?
I can definitely say there is nothing wrong with this film, it’s the perfect example of somebody having memorable words, such as the ‘Gate
check’, that was referenced throughout the film, which is touching because with one key word, things can change, for better or for worse.
How will this movie land for fans of the franchise / the genre / the director / the star?, How did it end up making you feel?
It is a really good cartoon, but more a personal cartoon. Cartoons everyday on television are mainly shown as funny, entertaining for
those who crave laughter. Whilst in this film, those who love to listen to personal cartoons, they would defiantly see that it falls within the
genre of animation, because, there’s more than one side to this genre, not just fun. The director, who probably made the animation himself
as well as being the star due to the story is about his family, his devotion to the family tree as well as the kindness and hope that surrounds
them is so touching and, it’s important to remember that you love that person, and even when they are gone, they are still in our hearts,
they are still superheroes.
Did it make you laugh? Did it scare you? etc?
I would defiantly say that it made me laugh due to how the two important words ‘gate check’ are two words that are funny when put
together.
Would you recommend it to someone else? Why?
Of course I would recommend this film because it has a strong personal touch and if you want top listen to a visual version of a some form
of autobiography or part of a happy life, this would be ideal.
If you were describing a short to a friend who hadn’t seen it, what would you write?
This film is about a boy who’s father and uncle were not only brothers, but best friends too. Until one day, the uncle falls ill, and the only
thing the father could say was……. ‘Gate Check’.
Can you link it to your project/FMP/Career ambitions/University courses?
I will use some animation towards my final project in which I will use some form of simple animation in order to shown the devil of my film.

Werewolf Comedy
What did I like about the movie?
I like how the creepy atmosphere is actually quite funny, hence why this video is credited as a comedy. I also
liked how, even though the searing is prone as bad, it also provides a funny almost-here of the vocals, not just
the visuals.
What didn’t I like about the movie?
I can definitely say there is nothing wrong with this video, for the comedy is great, however, the amount of
sharing is intense, and it wouldn’t be recommendable for the young audiences.
How will this movie land for fans of the franchise / the genre / the director / the star?
This films would bee a success for the fans who crave for this genre because it includes the classic elements

as professional directing behind the scenes.

Did it make you laugh? Did it scare you? etc
It did make me laugh a lot especially with the scary acting and funny 4th wall breaking.
Would you recommend it to someone else? Why?
I would recommend this film to those who are into advance comedy (swearing), but not to those who like to
keep it basic.
If you were describing a short to a friend who hadn’t seen it, what would you write?
I would say that it is a film full of humour, and maybe a bit of fright, but beware most of……….swearing. A
werewolf is on the loose, who will Lynch or who will be taken?
Can you link it to your project/FMP/Career ambitions/University courses?
