For a school research project, the author conducted a questionnaire about music preferences and magazine reading habits. Most respondents were between ages 16-20 and there was an even gender split. Rock was the most popular music genre. Kerrang and NME were the most popular existing magazines. Most respondents said they would pay £1-£2 for a new music magazine. The results provide guidance on targeting demographics, genres, styles and pricing for the author's proposed new music magazine.
