Front Cover
Despite my magazine conforming to the themes mentioned above, the final outcome of my magazine did not
conform to the original plans and drawings I created. My drawn out plan of the magazine cover differed quite a bit
from the actual outcome, this in terms of positioning of text and images, and even material being taken of totally
or replacing something which is different. On my magazine cover, I had the issue release date on the top of the
page towards the right of the page, however on my drawn plans the date was placed at the bottom of the page
along with the price of the magazine. I changed this because firstly the price of the magazine should be placed near
the barcode, which in turn should also be at the bottom of the page where they are usually located. So it made
sense to place a barcode at the bottom right hand corner of the page with the price. I then placed the issue
release date at the top right hand side of the page. This improved the overall look of my magazine cover. Another
component of my drawn plan which was doctored with, was the image that I planned to place at the bottom left
hand corner of another artist. In my final outcome this image was replaced with a sentence saying "Undiscovered
Talents upcoming in new year". I changed this because I felt that the image would be unexpected and would look
random without any caption or sentence to go with it. This would affect the overall professionalism and quality of
my magazine cover. Another aspect of my magazine which was changed from the original plan was the artist
information which was supposed to be placed next to the image of the artist. I replaced this artist information
with another sub-article regarding something else. I changed this because I thought it would be unnecessary for
information about the artist to go right next to their image and thought on the whole that it would not look good
there. I could have placed the artist information on the right hand side as a sub-article, but this would look
unprofessional and not look as if it is something to do with the artist as they are separated. I also done this as a
quote would interest the readers more than the artist information, some readers may already know about the
artist as well.; so it made sense to put a quote as it may say something which the reader wants to find out about.
The final thing which I changed was the positioning of the sub-article on the left hand side of the page; on my
drawn plan I placed this sub-article towards the bottom of the page. I changed this because I thought there would
be too much space in between the sub-article at the top of the page and the sub-article at the bottom of the page.
Even though there is quite a bit of empty space on the left hand side, I left it like this as I did not any text or
images interfering with the artists close. I think by doing this the overall quality and professionalism of my
magazine is improved and looks up to business standard.
As you can see I have changed the
positioning of the sub-article’s on the left. As you can see I have added in
These sub-article’s were originally placed the date in which the issue
towards the bottom of the page came out. In my original plan I
                                                never had a date.

                                                 Here I have changed the
                                                 information from the artist
                                                 information which I originally
planned to use. I have now
changed it to a quote from
                                                 the artist.

   I have also added
   information instead
   of an image which I
   first planned to use.
   I done this as an
   image would look
   random and
   unexpected.
Contents Page
I will now comment on the development of my contents page from my original plan to my actual outcome.
The first component of the contents page I changed was the image and advertisement I placed near the
bottom of the page with the sub-heading and sub-articles. I planned to put an image related to the sub-
article of "This weeks special", next to it. However I completely decided against it and just had the sub-
article's, this is because my sub-articles were quite long and I was already having an image of my main artist
on the page. This image I planned to take up most of the right hand side and with the sub-article's being
long, I thought an image would not stand out and look nice where I planned to. So I took the image off the
page along with the advertisement I first planned to put on the page. I also took this off, again due to the
sub-article's being long and having a big list of information for the readers. I then went researching into
other existing magazine's and their content pages, I then found that only some content pages have
advertisements on there, so I decided against it. The only other change I made to the content pages was
adding in my logo. I added the logo at the top of the page because I felt it was necessary for the logo to be
visible to the readers; I also thought it would remind readers of which magazine they are reading. Overall I
believe all the changes I made to the page were successful to an extent, as firstly they cleaned up the mess
in places where they were not needed and improved the overall look and professionalism of my magazine.
However I believe I could have added in some other elements in the contents page which would have also
improved my magazine and the contents page on the whole.
I added in my logo at because I felt
it was necessary for the logo to be
visible to the readers; I also
thought it would remind readers of
                                which magazine they are reading.

I changed the image and
advertisement I placed near
the bottom of the page with
the sub-heading and sub-
articles. I planned to put an
image related to the sub-
article of "This weeks
special", next to it.
Double Page
Spread
I will now talk about the development phase of my double page spread and how it has been modified
from my original plan to my final outcome. The first component of my double page spread which I
changed was, the text which I initially placed on the left and right hand side of the artist's picture. The
picture would take up the whole of the page and the text on the left and right hand side would consist
of captions and quote's. However I replaced the proposed text and just added a quote from the artist
saying, "Peace cannot be kept by force, it can only be achieved by understanding". This quote I placed
at the top of the page above the artist's head; here it looked more suited and looked more
professional. The only other change I made to the double page spread was that I displaced the
proposed image on the second page of the double page spread and just left it with the interview of
the artist. I changed this because, I felt it would be random and unnecessary for an image to appear in
the middle of an interview. This would also affect the organisation of the page and make it look
squashed an messy. Thus, affecting the overall look and professionalism of my magazine and the
 double page spread.
I changed the text which I initially placed on the
left and right hand side of the artist's picture. The
picture would take up the whole of the page and
the text on the left and right hand side would
consist of captions and quote's.

I displaced the proposed image on the second page of the double
page spread and just left it with the interview of the artist. I changed
this because, I felt it would be random and unnecessary for an image
to appear in the middle of an interview.

As media c+d ( development), with final outcome

  • 1. Front Cover Despite my magazine conforming to the themes mentioned above, the final outcome of my magazine did not conform to the original plans and drawings I created. My drawn out plan of the magazine cover differed quite a bit from the actual outcome, this in terms of positioning of text and images, and even material being taken of totally or replacing something which is different. On my magazine cover, I had the issue release date on the top of the page towards the right of the page, however on my drawn plans the date was placed at the bottom of the page along with the price of the magazine. I changed this because firstly the price of the magazine should be placed near the barcode, which in turn should also be at the bottom of the page where they are usually located. So it made sense to place a barcode at the bottom right hand corner of the page with the price. I then placed the issue release date at the top right hand side of the page. This improved the overall look of my magazine cover. Another component of my drawn plan which was doctored with, was the image that I planned to place at the bottom left hand corner of another artist. In my final outcome this image was replaced with a sentence saying "Undiscovered Talents upcoming in new year". I changed this because I felt that the image would be unexpected and would look random without any caption or sentence to go with it. This would affect the overall professionalism and quality of my magazine cover. Another aspect of my magazine which was changed from the original plan was the artist information which was supposed to be placed next to the image of the artist. I replaced this artist information with another sub-article regarding something else. I changed this because I thought it would be unnecessary for information about the artist to go right next to their image and thought on the whole that it would not look good there. I could have placed the artist information on the right hand side as a sub-article, but this would look unprofessional and not look as if it is something to do with the artist as they are separated. I also done this as a quote would interest the readers more than the artist information, some readers may already know about the artist as well.; so it made sense to put a quote as it may say something which the reader wants to find out about. The final thing which I changed was the positioning of the sub-article on the left hand side of the page; on my drawn plan I placed this sub-article towards the bottom of the page. I changed this because I thought there would be too much space in between the sub-article at the top of the page and the sub-article at the bottom of the page. Even though there is quite a bit of empty space on the left hand side, I left it like this as I did not any text or images interfering with the artists close. I think by doing this the overall quality and professionalism of my magazine is improved and looks up to business standard.
  • 2. As you can see I have changed the positioning of the sub-article’s on the left. As you can see I have added in These sub-article’s were originally placed the date in which the issue towards the bottom of the page came out. In my original plan I never had a date. Here I have changed the information from the artist information which I originally planned to use. I have now changed it to a quote from the artist. I have also added information instead of an image which I first planned to use. I done this as an image would look random and unexpected.

However I replaced the proposed text and just added a quote from the artist saying, "Peace cannot be kept by force, it can only be achieved by understanding". This quote I placed at the top of the page above the artist's head; here it looked more suited and looked more professional. The only other change I made to the double page spread was that I displaced the proposed image on the second page of the double page spread and just left it with the interview of the artist. I changed this because, I felt it would be random and unnecessary for an image to appear in the middle of an interview. This would also affect the organisation of the page and make it look squashed an messy. Thus, affecting the overall look and professionalism of my magazine and the double page spread.
