 Also called Authoritative leadership style
 Leader has complete control
 Leader takes decisions independently
 Leader has clear expectations as to what, when
and how work should be done
 Suitable where subordinates are unskilled or
semiskilled
 Also called Participative leadership style
 Encourages open communication
 Leader takes decisions after consulting the
subordinates
 Focuses more on people than on tasks
 Subordinates are more motivated and creative
 Also called Laissez Faire leadership style
 Leader offers no guidance to subordinates
 Power is vested on the subordinates
 It is suitable where subordinates are highly
qualified, skilled and experienced
