suggested through the

has not been advertised which
can also indicate that younger
people are not targeted.

youthful target market as

involve camping and
entertainment venues
aimed at teenagers and
young adults.

informs the targeted
consumers about the
artist’s upcoming
concerts and
festivals. As shown in
the picture, Dua Lips
has not got any
upcoming shows at
the moment.
On the ‘Music’ page, Dua Lipa presents
her Albums and Singles to the
consumer.

more information is represented which
tells the viewer where they can listen to
the product.

Store’ tabs lead the consumers

To conclude, it is
evident that Dua Lipa’s
website is mainly aimed
at youths. This is
evident through the
website’s use of colour
and visual effects.
Moreover, her clothing
is being sold at a
reasonable price,
meaning that on the
socio-economic scale
C1-A customers are
being targeted.
ConclusionThe purpose of an artist’s website is to commercially advertise the talents, achievements and the music compositions
produced by the artist. The generic conventions of a pop music webpage usually involves the use of bright colours,
photographic visuals of the artist and – in some cases – links where consumers can click on and purchase products from
the artist.
Dua Lipa has the most visual effects on her webpage, this strongly suggests that she is using her image in order to attract
her audience. Maroon 5 and Freya Riding on the other hand, don’t promote or sexualise themselves to their consumers
implying that they are trying to increase their popularity through the effect of their music.
Moreover, a conventional feature of music webpages include a homepage where a menu bar is present so that users can
easily access different sections of the page. A merch store and tour dates link is also very conventional for music websites
as these enable the artist to promote their music further by informing their targeted audience about upcoming festivals
and concerts. It may also increase their popularity and allow them to promote their musical content. Music can also be
available on many different platforms (YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud etc) as well as being advertised on the website.
Spotify and YouTube seems to the most used platform across the 3 performers I have analysed, this is because Spotify
and YouTube are the most popular platforms to promote soundtracks to mainstreamers.
Overall, it seems that Dua Lipa is the one with the most content on her page. This is evident through the promotion of
her many social media platforms on her website. This could be suggesting that Dua Lipa is aiming for a younger audience,
where as Maroon 5 and Freya Riding are aiming for a slightly older audience who aren’t as advanced with technology.

The artist aims to attract a male audience through her sexualised physical appearance.

The generic conventions of a pop music webpage usually involves the use of bright colours, photographic visuals of the artist and – in some cases – links where consumers can click on and purchase products from the artist. Dua Lipa has the most visual effects on her webpage, this strongly suggests that she is using her image in order to attract her audience. Maroon 5 and Freya Riding on the other hand, don’t promote or sexualise themselves to their consumers implying that they are trying to increase their popularity through the effect of their music. Moreover, a conventional feature of music webpages include a homepage where a menu bar is present so that users can easily access different sections of the page. A merch store and tour dates link is also very conventional for music websites as these enable the artist to promote their music further by informing their targeted audience about upcoming festivals and concerts. It may also increase their popularity and allow them to promote their musical content. Music can also be available on many different platforms (YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud etc) as well as being advertised on the website. Spotify and YouTube seems to the most used platform across the 3 performers I have analysed, this is because Spotify and YouTube are the most popular platforms to promote soundtracks to mainstreamers. Overall, it seems that Dua Lipa is the one with the most content on her page. This is evident through the promotion of her many social media platforms on her website. This could be suggesting that Dua Lipa is aiming for a younger audience, where as Maroon 5 and Freya Riding are aiming for a slightly older audience who aren’t as advanced with technology.
