On July 17th 2014, Daniel Pantaleo killed a man by putting him in a chokehold and not releasing him even as the man said "I can't breathe" 11-12 times. The letter questions whether Pantaleo killed the man because he was selling untaxed cigarettes or because he was black. It discusses how black people are more likely to be judged, arrested, and sentenced to jail time than white people for similar crimes according to statistics. The letter argues that we should change societal views of minorities as history has shown they face higher risks of discrimination and imprisonment.

This document summarizes the symbols and history represented by the Cherokee flag. The old Cherokee flag from 1839 features a seven-pointed star in the middle representing the seven Cherokee clans, surrounded by oak leaves symbolizing the sacred fire. A second black star on the top right represents those who died on the Trail of Tears, the forced relocation journey that was devastating to the Cherokee people. A new flag was adopted in 1968, while the Cherokee now have three flags in total representing their tribe and the loss of their lands under Andrew Jackson's Indian removal policy.

The letter summarizes an incident at Hurley Medical Center where a racist patient demanded that no black nurses care for their newborn child. Despite initially refusing the demands, the hospital then complied by no longer scheduling any black nurses for the duration of the patient's stay. The letter argues that this was an unacceptable decision that went against ethics codes and supported harmful racial myths. It notes that skin color has no impact on a nurse or doctor's abilities, and that experienced black healthcare providers often face unfair barriers. By not standing up for its employees, the hospital is perpetuating systemic racism and missing out on the contributions of qualified professionals.

The American Revolution was revolutionary because it created a new political system that ultimately benefited the elites. While the Declaration of Independence claimed to help everyone, its vague language about suffering and vague causes of leaving Britain only truly applied to elite white landowners. It exploited the common people's mob mentality to start a war and overthrow British rule, allowing the elites to establish a new government with laws that served their own interests and status. Ultimately, revolutions just result in a transfer of power from one group to another rather than truly revolutionary change.

This artifact is a Sauk breechcloth worn by several Native American tribes in the Prairie style. It has different beadwork patterns on the front and back and uses a color palette typical of the Prairie style, including hot pink, pale blue, red, green, yellow, and gold translucent beads. The student was asked to further describe the purpose and cultural significance of the breechcloth.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

- 1. / Charlotte Bourbon Oct. 3, 2019 703 I find the tone of the book Eleanor & Park, written by Rainbow Rowell very powerful because it’s about two completely opposite people finding extraordinary love between each other. I guess what they say is true, opposites attract. The reason why I think the tone of the book is very powerful is that not only are they so different, but they are so in love. But because of how they don’t care about what other people think they know that they make each other happy and don’t need anyone's opinion about it. For example, “When he saw Eleanor walking toward him on Monday morning, Park wanted to run to her and sweep her up into his arms. Like some guy in the soap operas his mom watched. He hung on to his backpack to hold himself back… It was kind of wonderful. Park was just her height, but he seemed taller. Eleanor's eyelashes were the same color as her freckles. They talked about the White Album on the way to school, but just as an excuse to stare at each other’s mouths. You’d think they were lip-reading.” This shows that even if you are different then someone, there's nothing holding you back from loving them. Also that there is no reason to care what others think about your relationship. If you do care then you shouldn't be in that relationship in the first place.
