1. Cherokeeflag
This artifact represents the Cherokee flag. There are two types of flags there's an old
one and a new one. The old Cherokee flag was made on September 6th, 1839. The
new Cherokee flag was made on September 7th, 1968 on the old flag there is a star in
the middle the has seven points at the end. Of the star, each point of the start has a
meaning to it the meanings are all the seven different clans. All those seven different
clans are Bird, Wild Potato, Deer, Long Hair, Paint, Bule, and Wolf. Also, the seven-
point star is surrounded by oak leaves and that represents the sacred fire. But there's
also another star on the top right side of the flag. There is a black star that black start
represents all the people that died, of cold, hunger and also died due to dehydration. On
the trail of tears, they call is the trail of tears because of how devastating this journey
was. The trail of tears is where the Cherokee had to give up their land because of
Andrew Jackson Andrew Indian removal policy. But now they have three flags in total.
