Wassily Kandinsky was a Russian painter and art theorist known for being one of the first abstract painters. He started drawing and painting later in life at age 30 after initially working as a lawyer and teacher. Kandinsky is well known for his study on the elements of art called Point and Line to Plane and his abstract paintings used shapes, lines, and colors to create a visual experience without realistic subjects.
