This document provides an overview of prehistoric art from the Paleolithic, Mesolithic, and Neolithic periods. It describes some of the earliest works of art including the Venus of Tan-Tan figurine from 300,000-500,000 BC and the cave paintings found in the Lascaux Caves in France dating back to around 15,000-13,000 BC depicting animals. Mesolithic art is described as being more schematic using only the color red, compared to the realistic, colored drawings of the Paleolithic. Neolithic art included pottery, figurines of Mother Goddess statues, and megalithic structures like Stonehenge built around 2200 BC.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

4. Paleolithic Period
The Paleolithic is a
prehistoric era
distinguished by the
development of stone tools.
It covers virtually all of
humanity's time on Earth,
extending from 2.5 million
years ago to the
introduction of agriculture
around 10,000 BCE.
5. The Earliest Art-i-fact
The Venus of Tan-Tan was
found in Morocco. It is 6
centimeters long.
Dated between 300,000 and
500,000 BC.
Made from quartzite, it was
painted with red ochre.
It was discovered in 1999, during
an archaeological survey by Lutz
Fiedler.
6. Lascaux Caves
Lascaux is the setting of a
complex of caves in
southwestern France famous
for its cave paintings. They
contain some of the most
well-known (Upper
Paleolithic) art, dating back
to somewhere between
15,000 and 13,000 BC. They
consist mostly of realistic
images of large animals.

7. Mesolithic Period
The Mesolithic period is the time
between the last glaciation (ca.
10,000 years BP) and beginning
of the Neolithic (ca. 5000 years
BP), when farming communities
began to be established. During
this period, humans hunted and
fished, and began to learn how to
domesticate animals and plants.
Such a large span of time
involves quite a bit of variety, and
the late Mesolithic hunters are
now known to have developed
pottery and a sedentary lifestyle.
8. Mesolithic Art
The rich art of the
Paleolithic is replaced by a
Mesolithic art with many
changes in style as well as
meaning. Upper Paleolithic
cave art depicts colored
drawings and expressive
features of animals. A full
range of color is used.
Mesolithic art in contrast is
schematic; no realistic
figures are present and only
the color red is used.
9. Neolithic Period
The Neolithic period, also called
New Stone Age, began when
men first developed agriculture
and settled in permanent
villages. It ended with the
discovery of bronze. The prime
medium of Neolithic art was
pottery. Other important artistic
expressions were statuary of the
universally worshiped Mother
Goddess and megalithic stone
monuments such as
Stonehenge.
10. Stonehenge
One of the most famous
prehistoric sites in the
world.
Located in the English
county of Wiltshire.
Archaeologists believe
the standing stones
were erected around
2200 BC.
