I. This photo was taken as part of a project to imitate the style of photographer Marilyn Minter. The goals were to capture macro shots and incorporate grungy body glitter effects, though the results did not fully meet the photographer's intentions. However, the photo has strong compositional aspects and an overall successful look. II. Perception and emotion are ways of knowing that are important for understanding photography. Individual perception influences how a work is interpreted, and people may perceive the same photo differently based on their experiences. The artist also aims to convey an emotion through their work, and understanding emotion helps analyze the significance of the photo.

1. I. Intro.<br />This is a photo that I did for a photo project where the goal was to imitate a famous photographer, I chose to do it on Marilyn Minter. My initial goal for the project was to do macro, just like Minter does in some of her photos. Another goal was do to a grungy or body glitter shoot. The shoots didn’t turn out the way I really wanted it, but I feel that they did turn out really well, and as you can see from the photo above, it has strong compositional aspects, and the overall look turned out well.<br />II. Major WoK<br />The major WoK that is seen through photography is perception and emotion. Perception is used in photography when looking at a piece. Everybody’s outcome of a work of art is always different; therefore, everybody has a different perception while trying to figure out the true meaning. For instance, someone looking at this piece may think “dark”, “glitter”, “intensity”, “focus” etc, but to the artist it may be “minimalistic”, “shadows”, “eye” etc. This shows that the perception of separate people influence the way that they look at a piece. Also, another factor that may go into the different perceptions may be the way that the person was brought up. The use of emotion also plays a part in understanding a piece of work, because in a piece, the artist tries to put forth a certain emotion. Through these ways of knowing, a person trying to analyze a piece of art will be able to come to a reasonable conclusion of what they think is the emotion, mood, theme or overall significance of a piece. <br />
