take out cost, NOW what
should we do?

The need for Spot Buy in numbers
*) The remaining ~17% is unknown or ”other”
*
Significant numbers that need to be addressed
Example from Santander
”Let end users find the items they need and request it”
Development is driven by the ”millenials”
Expectations are high on:
• User experience
• Guidance
• Ability to compare and rate items
Ariba introduces a new way of thinking:
A separate tab ”Spot Buy” can be selected
if items are not found in the hosted catalog
Ariba Network Spot Buy –
available through ebay in the US
A dummy ebay supplier receives all Spot Buy Orders,
and payment is done via PayPal / SAP PCard
Availability for use
Probable launch in Europe: 2015/16
• No or very little change management since people are used to the concept of using
google, ebay etc.
• People are really happy about the solution – high user acceptance
• Users often find better prices on ebay than in the internal catalogues…
Testimonial from first customer (which is SAP)
