Argumentive Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "Argumentative Essays" can be quite challenging, particularly
because it requires a nuanced understanding of various viewpoints, the ability to critically
analyze evidence, and the skill to construct compelling arguments. To craft a compelling
argumentative essay, one must delve deep into research, explore opposing perspectives, and
present a coherent and persuasive argument supported by credible evidence.
The difficulty lies not only in articulating one's own viewpoint but also in anticipating and
addressing counterarguments effectively. Moreover, organizing thoughts logically and presenting
them in a structured manner is paramount to the success of the essay. It requires meticulous
planning, drafting, revising, and editing to ensure clarity and coherence throughout the piece.
Additionally, mastering the art of rhetoric and employing persuasive techniques can elevate the
essay and sway readers to consider the presented argument favorably. This demands proficiency
in language, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
In conclusion, while composing an essay on this topic can be arduous, it is also a rewarding
intellectual exercise that hones various skills crucial for effective communication and persuasion.

Inherent Thoughtfulness And Emotionalism In Life Is
Beautiful
Life can be very beautiful. In contrast, life for many people during World War 2
was not so beautiful. During this time, the world was at war. Gladly, during all the
madness, in 1945 innocent people broke free, and concentration camps were
liberated. The film Life is Beautiful, Guido demonstrated the three qualities; Inherent
thoughtfulness and emotionality, expressive coherence, and wholeness and unity.
Guido demonstrates the first quality, inherent thoughtfulness and emotionality,
when he first arrives at the Nazi Concentration Camp after him and his son were
taken from their home in Northern Italy by local German officials. Guido is
playing against his own emotions by setting aside all his personal worries and
doubts to do everything possible to be sure his son stays positive. Even though he
realizes that he just lost the chance to say goodbye to his wife, Dora, and what his
son is about to experience, he still plays the role of a sanguine character. When
Guido played against his own emotions it showed the audience what Guido mentally
and emotionally would be willing to put himself through to protect his family and
dignity as a Jew. As a father, and the greatest role model his son will ever have,
Guido protected his son from the dangerous world that he knew was up ahead. This
environment found in the Concentration Camp is something that no young child
should ever have to endure at such a young age. Guido realizes that once his son
becomes infected with this negative
The Struggle for Human and Labor Rights in Guatemala
Essay
In a time where the United States was guarding against the spread of Communism to
Latin America, the workers of Guatemala faced a difficult time organizing to demand
benefits and rights from their employers. Among others that struggled to form
organized labor through the various repressive governments, the union at the Coca
Cola Bottling Plant in the capital city was one of the most successful. This success
can be attributed to the favorable rulings of Guatemalan labor courts, the tenacity of
the union s members, international support and the cooperation of the transnational
corporation of Coca Cola, headquartered in the United States. Embotelladora
Guatemalteca S.A. (EGSA), the Coca Cola franchise in Guatemala City, was filled

This however, did not stop the President of the company, Texan John Trotter, from
sending Boche Morales home after he heard about the union. Indignity from this
action immediately drew 167 more signatories to the pliego, 80% of the work
force, in the next ten days (Frundt 5). The workers created a large single union
between the plant workers and post mix workers (including the drivers) which
made them stronger in the face of management. The management, in an attempt to
instill divisiveness, tried to convince the workers that they would negotiate wage
increases and other protections as long as they did not unionize. The workers
knew there would be no guarantees and rejected this offer. With the help of Marta
Torres of the Confederacion Nacional de Trabadores, they were able to get manager
Armando Fong sent to jail for five days with a $500 fine for dismissing Boche
Morales because of his part in organizing the union. Again management tried to
appease leaders of the workers by offering them $15,000 each and residence in the
United States to stop organizing. When they refused, the management threatened the
lives of all the union members. Israel Marquez, a union leader, recalled the early
attempts at forming a union, We continued to receive all sorts of threats and
harassment. Trotter personally threatened me, saying, The army is going to get you.

Organizational Planning And Functions Of Management

QUESTION 3: DISCUSS THE STEPS RELATED TO ORGANIZATIONAL

ineffective planning which potentially results in poor quality of products of dietary

type they would wanted to operate. Next, they made a business and organizational lay

the finances the business will initially need for start up. The organizational plan

Cultural Case Study
The cultural case study I have chosen focuses on the protection of indigenous and
cultural rights within Australia. Lack of knowledge in the wider community of
Indigenous cultural heritage has created confusion, misunderstandings and inequality
which have all continually placed pressure on the Indigenous heritage. Years of
European misperceptions and indifferences have adversely affected them. Thus, I
have chosen this case studyto increase my awareness and understanding of the
Indigenous community as well as their beliefs and systems. I would further like to
understand how the law affects the indigenous cultureand how it responds to issues
regarding the rights of native Australians.
The case study is essentially about a marine sacred site ... Show more content on

Although Magamarra and the Blyth River are registered as sacred sites, the physical
condition and integrity of them is under threat from unauthorised use by commercial
fishing vessels. There is a natural barramundi habitat in the estuarine waters of the
Blyth River and the only way to enter these waters is through Magamarra. Illegal
fishing activities at Magamarra are the most substantial threat to the condition and
integrity of the site. There have been several reported recurrent problems with
commercial fishermen disobeying customary laws and entering the site at night. In
April of 2011 a commercial barramundi fisherman was fined $5,000 for setting up a
gill net at Magamarra. After the court case, a Traditional Custodian observed that the
illegal fishing appeared to have stopped, but questioned for how long. The physical
condition and integrity of Magamarra is vital to the cultural wellbeing of the
Guwowura and Mareang A Jirra people. One Traditional Custodian explained that if
Magamarra is destroyed through misuse, then his grandchildren will have no
Cystic Acne Research Paper
Cystic acne is a condition that occurs as the result an infection deep in the skin. It
causes red, pus filled bumps to develop on the skin. It typically affects people who
are in their teens or early 20s. The exact causes of cystic acne are not known.
However, experts believe that androgens play a role in the development of cystic
acne. Androgens, which are the male sex hormones, increase when a person
becomes a teenager. Both men and women have androgens. Genetics may also play
a role. If you have a close relative with cystic acne, then you are at a greater risk for
developing. There are many things that you can do treat cystic acne. Below is a list
of treatment options: Nutrition Your diet could be triggering or worsening cystic acne.
Actually Dreaming with Wealth, Freedom, and Health
Actually Dreaming
When people think of the American Dream, typically the first three that come to
mind are wealth, living in freedom, and good health. Perhaps you ve heard through
tradition about these ideals, and through research, these three are the most prevalent
parts of what people think of the American Dream. There are other elements that
people can think of, of course, but as a general rule of thumb, these are the ones
that people default to. Most people have the same basic idea of the American
Dream, but most people are left ultimately unsatisfied with their lot in life and their
personal fulfillment of this Dream. The problem with the American Dream is that
the concept of it is not personal and the Dream is hard to achieve because the bar is
set so high that people believe the Dream means that anyone can be the next Bill
Gates or Whitney Houston. The American Dream should not be a one size fits all
ideal.
The American Dream is impersonal and vague; it doesn t describe the potential of
the markers set. Financial stability...is the most frequently cited characteristic of
living the American Dream (Longley). What does financial security mean in the
scope of the Dream? Barely being able to provide for a family is not an ideal
situation, but it is one that many (if not most) Americans are now having to
experience. Does this notion of barely scraping by fit into our idea of the Dream, or
must there be some kind of barrier, something keeping us from tipping into
Symbolism In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery
Authors use symbolism in order to substitute a hidden meaning within an action,
person, idea, object, or setting. Symbols carry the weight to make a story more
meaningful and can be used to help the reader make connections between the story
and the outside world. On the 27th of June, a village gathers to conduct a lottery,
where one chosen person will be stoned to death. This ritual, done each and every
year, is planted in biblical roots and exemplifies the role of tradition within the town.
This sacramental ceremony in Shirley Jacksons The Lotteryhas many aspects which
all possess a symbolic meaning and incorporate another degree of depth to the story.
One important aspect that authors use to express symbolism is character names. In

For example, Mr. Summers s name is being used to deceive the reader ( Symbolism in
The Lottery ). Although Summer is usually associated with happiness, fun, and
warmth, this is not the case. Unfortunately, every Summer, Mr. Summers is the one
who conducts the lottery and ultimately grants a death sentence upon a member of
the town. Ironically, he also directs the square dances, the teen age club, [and] the
Halloween program which are all contrary to the demeanor of the lottery (Jackson
140). In addition to this, the postmaster s name, Mr. Graves, undoubtedly symbolizes
death, which is the inevitable end to the lottery drawing. Another name which holds
symbolic meaning is Mrs.Delacroix, which translates to of the cross ( Symbolism in
The Lottery ). Through this translation the reader can see the community s
connection to biblical principles. Mrs.Delacroix s dedication to the tradition of the
lottery which is derived from divine beliefs is shown when she selected a stone so
large she had to pick it up with both hands, as she was preparing to stone
Mrs.Hutchinson, her best friend, to death. Furthermore, through Tessie Hutchinson,

Why Is Alexander Hamilton Wrong
Alexander Hamilton was one of the greatest founders of our country. He wrote the
majority of the federalist papers, was George Washington s personal assistant during
the war, and he founded our Nations Treasury. You may not know this but Alexander
Hamilton is on the 10 dollar bill. it is mistakenly thought that only presidents appear
on money. that is wrong because Alexander Hamiltonwas not a president. Without
Alexander Hamilton our country may have fallen into ruin. when America was trying
to create its government our country was nearly bankrupt, Alexander Hamilton knew
how to finance superbly so our country would not fall into ruin.

When Hamilton first became the captain of the artillery unit, his first job was to
recruit people for the unit. Using the last of his money he tried to buy the men he
was the captain of the best clothes and equipment. He trained his men in the action
of positioning, loading, and firing the cannons they would be using. Hamilton and
his unit were placed under the command of Henry Knox. Henry was General
Washington s commander of artillery. Hamilton and his unit fought in the battle of
New York. In the battle of New York General William Howe had an army twice the
size of Washington s army. Washington took notice of Hamilton when he was
commanding his artillery unit in the battle of New York. Due to this Washington
asked Hamilton to be his Aide de camp. An Aide de Camp is a personal assistant in
the military. Hamilton did not want to become an aide de camp, he would have
preferred to stay in the field but his artillery unit was almost gone due to illness
and them deserting. Hamilton was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. Hamilton
would serve Washington at his headquarters. Hamilton was not Washington s only
Aide de Camp, there could be up to six other aides at once. Hamilton spent very
long hours writing letters and military orders. Only once when Alexander was an
Aide did he see action, he was outside Philadelphia in 1777 scouting and he came
under British fire. Hamilton grew to be friends with Marquis de Lafayette, he was
a 19 year old French noblemen. He also became friends with Colonel John Laurens,
later in their life they would try to convince Congress to create a regiment of slaves
who would become free if they served in the army. The Colonel was killed in a
skirmish between the British in 1782. Most of all Hamilton became friends with
George Washington. This friendship lasted more than 20 years. Due to this friendship
Washington got to see how Hamilton thought and how good he was at
The Seventh Man Murakami
Should The Seventh Man forgive himself for not saving k.? You may have
different thoughts in what you are about to read or you may even agree with me.
The Seventh Man has many evidence to support either thought. The Seventh Man
should not forgive himself for not saving k. My point of view is supported by The
Seventh Man by Haruki Murakami. For example, As clearly as i ought to be doing,
i found myself running the other way (143). This means that the seventh man was
able to save k. but instead he ran the other way. Furthermore, in his story The
Seventh Man , Haruki Murakami writes I stood alone on the break water, frozen in

The Authority Of Religious Elites In The 1640s Witch Hunts
The Authority of Religious Elites in the 1640s Witch Hunts The large scale witch
hunts that occurred from 1638 to 1651 gathered momentum via major happenings in
the political, societal, and religious domains developing at the time. Individuals who
had either political, religious or economic power in society, also known as elites,
together had absolute control over the pursuit and prosecution of individuals who
partook in witchcraft. The clergy played a crucial role in the witchcraft prosecutions
and were slower than the state and localities to desert their beliefs in the reality of
witches as the prosecution of witchcraft was, in their eyes, an effective tool to
eradicate social deviance. Though local authorities and the Parliament did contribute
to the witch hunts significantly, without the kirk of Scotlanddeclaring and
encouraging this sanction on witchcraft, both other parties would not have taken the
actions they ultimately did. This essay will provide a brief description of events that
took place from 1638 to 1651 and then utilize evidence from a multitude of sources
to argue that the religious elites were the most influential of these forces during the
witchcraft prosecutions that occurred in the 1640s. Due to the Scots dissatisfaction
with the current monarch, King Charles I, the National Covenant was formed by on
February 28th in 1638 at Greyfrairs Kirk in Edinburgh. All his subjects were

Copyright And Copyright Infringement Trials
Intellectual properties are anything that is created by the mind. This includes
inventions, designs, books, etc. Many people protect their intellectual by
copyrighting their work. Copyrights are trademarks or patents, and give the owners
of the work the right to claim their work and protect it from theft. Use or reference
of famous work is permitted when it is for transformative or limited use. This work
be considered fair use and many copyrightinfringement trials have been dismissed
because of this. Copyrights are an important tool to ensure that copyrighted work that
is referenced mentions the original inventor, rather than stealing their inventionand
claiming it as their own.

Trademark:
Trademark is a sign, design, or expression used in order to set a business apart.
Trademarks serves as two primary functions. The first is to provide protection to
manufactures and traders by not allowing unfair competition. It also protects
customers from impersonations. Trademarks today are governed on state and federal
level. Trademarks today are considered property, meaning that trademarks can be
sold, inherited, or even leased as long as it is not the intent to fool the customer.
Patent:
A patent gives all rights to the inventor and prevents anyone else from making using
and selling their idea. There are three different types of patents. The first is the utility

Real Estate Aerial Shot
Real Estate Aerial Shot Look From the Above
The best view comes from the sky!
No doubt, sitting in a private jet seeing the blue green oceans, the lofty mountains, the
chirping birds and a lot to see... Sounds great, isn t it?
This will prove that a view from the sky is unsurpassed and no one can have the
potential to deny this fact. The aerial shot is akin to it. Checking out your property
from the above will give you a unique experience, but it holds a massive amount of
importance.
How?
The aerial view embraces the ultimate significance when you have to sell your
property. Covering the real estate from various angles, including the interior, right
and left, will give a buyer a facile idea about your land. If you are thinking that the
aerial view won t be required to add in the real estate photography. Then, ditch your
thought now! The view from the above is also necessary and you can t overlook it.

There is not an iota of doubt in the fact that an aerial photography or videography
can increase the resale value of the property. It will happen only in the case, when
you will hire an expert or an experienced agency to click or shoot from the above.
Yes, it matters the most. On the flip side, if you rent an amateur or unprofessional
person, then it will degrade the value of the property, as they don t acquaint with the
right degree of the clicking or shooting from the sky.
If you ask that whether an aerial photography helps in the competent advertising of
your property, then the answer is a big Yes . Suppose you have to show the video or
the photographs to a buyer. In this case, if the video/photos are professionally clicked,
then only the purchaser can have the transparent idea about that particular estate.
And, then he proceeds in the direction to but that real estate. On the other hand, if it
happens adversely, then the results may be unfavorable for the property
The Monster s Transformation
Given that, maturity and familiarization become catalyst to the Monster s
transformation. The parent less environment forces the Monster to let his curiosity
serves as a starting point. Distort from their starting point, the Monster begins to form
an opinion about himself. I viewed myself in the transparent pool! At first I started
back, unable to believe that was indeed who I was reflected in the mirror: and when I
became fully convinced that I was in the reality the monster that I am, I was filled
with bitterest sensation of despondence and mortification (16. 116 17). The pool
serves as conduit to help The Monster notice the aesthetic differences between
himself and the cottagers. However, it sets the pace for the Monster to begin to
unfairly desire that which is unattainable. Exhibitive in the comparison, is the rapid
rate at which the Monster is acquiring knowledge. Amidst knowledge, and its
acquisition, it is paramount that misconceptions and comparisons to others, be put in
perspective, but this is impossible. On his own, he formulates an opinion and does
not have another individual to challenge his belief system. The philosophical
opposition would present an alternative viewpoint from which to see himself. The
silence that surrounds him plants the seed which creates the potential to manifest into
something more devious, and destructive, as per his superhuman abilities. Successive
to learning the disparity between himself and the humans, the Monster continues to
Puerto Rican Music and Its Significance Essay
Puerto Rican Music and Its Significance
Although the policies of Americanization and degradation of Puerto Rican culture
heritage improved by the United States in Puerto Rico during the early decades of the
twentieth century, the utmost concern for the United States was the strategic location
of the island for political and economic advantages, not of the people who inhabited
it. Puerto Rico, though a poor colony, was a rich cultural spot in an area of dynamic
cultural influence of the Caribbean. One aspect of the Puerto Rican culture that was
greatly influenced by its location in the Caribbean and by its repossession by the
United States is music. Music permeated the daily life of Puerto Ricans (Waxer, Oct.
29). Music was the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus the bomba became known as talking drums (Glasser, 1995).
The plena, another typical form of Puerto Rican music, was considered the singing
newspaper. It was developed at the turn of the century by a lower class mulato
population (made up of Puerto Rican freed slaves and migrants from the English
Antilles) on the coast. Themes for the music came from the idiosyncrasies and
normalcies of daily life, and was incorporated through a narrative verse taken from
the Spanish music culture through call and response . Call and response, another
African influence, is a component of traditional African musical expression in
which a phrase is sung (chanted by part of a group of people and that phrase is
responded to by a refrain by the other part of the group. Call and response is a
component of the bomba, the plena, and the danza and still exists today as an
important ingredient of Puerto Rican music. It facilitates dialogue, and encourages a
sense of community by enabling more people to join in, which then closes the gaps
between classes and races (Waxer, Oct. 29).
The third traditional form of Puerto Rican music is the danza. This genre, developed
by mulato artisans in late nineteenth century, reflected the race, class, and nationality
issues which were present at that time. As the plena and the bomba had African roots,
the danza had roots in English, French, and
Compare and Contrast Two Supply Chains, Drawing on...
To start, it is vital to clarify the concept of a supply chain. It consists basically of all
the process that the materials suffer as they flow from the source to the final
customer. There are many concepts linked to this term, purchasing, warehousing,
manufacturing, etc. Or more precisely: a supply chain is a system of business
enterprises that link together to satisfy consumer demand. The elements of a supply
chain can be contained in the same business or be part of different companies
(Riddalls et Al., 2000) For this essay I have chosen two very different companies;

What they do is listen to consumer preferences and what it is more popular and
produce what they want. That is why they always have fresh and trendy designs.
In terms of production, they have and control the main factory in La CoruГ±a
(north of Spain) to be able to supply as fast as possible all the stores. The fact of
having the factory in Europe and not in other countries such as China is high, but
it is something that is covered by lower transportation costs as well as the capacity
to supply demand almost immediately, which its translated in big amount of sells.
It is a very flexible demand based production. Another positive point of Zara, due to
high frequency of changing clothes is the low risk that this report. As they change
constantly the outfit, if there is a product that is working good it can be
immediately replace within a maximum of one week, while in other companies,
where the stock is bigger, it will need to be stored in the shops for longer time. This
will carry on low inventory costs. Zara, has an agile production that focus it
success in the quick response to demand even though it is no, a priori, predictable.
Dell s supply chain, on the other hand it is completely different that Zara s one.
The components of Dell s supply chain are the customers, Dell s website (which is
the only official place where you can buy a Dell computer), Dell s assembly plant
and Dell s suppliers. The way Dell computers production works is completely

My Most Memorable Experience
When we could get everyone rounded up and on the same schedule, my parents,
brothers and I would pack up and go on our one big vacation of the summer. When
I was8 one, we went to Mount Rushmore and witnessed the fireworks display. At
the age of two, we were at the grandaddy of them all, Cheyenne Frontier Days. In
2003, I was three, we went spelunking in caves to explore Ruby Fall, Tennesse. I
remember nothing about these vacations, except what I was told years later about
them. However, when I was the ripe young age of four, my family went on
vacation to Upper Peninsula Michigan. That vacation is, to this day, my favorite
one we ever took. This is probably due to it being the very first vacation that I can
actually remember. Over the years we have traveled to many different places, but
the vacation to Michigan is by far my most memorable experience. The events that
occurred on this trip instilled a sense of adventure and curiosity into me. When we
traveled, we did not fly, go by train, or stay in a fancy hotel. Nope, not my family.
We drove everywhere, even all the way up to Michigan. We were in a truck that
seated exactly six people, not necessarily a comfortable experience. In addition to
all of that, we stayed in our camper for the whole vacation, practically living on top
of each other. Good thing that we really love each other, huh? The trip was during
the first week of July, so on the Fourth of July my parents decided that we would go
to the Soo Locks in Sault
The Doors Of The Opera House
Becca barged through the doors of the Opera House weighed down by a heavy ballet
tote, a substantially stuffed garment bag, and an oversized platter of peanut butter

When she finally got to the changing room, only a few other girls had arrived. Miss
Claudine was in the back of the room talking on her cell. She waved at Becca.

I can t believe it s finally here, Shannon added with a bounce. We ve been practicing

Are you nervous, Becca? Abby asked.
Becca nodded. A little, but I m ready.
You don t have anything to be nervous about. You re, like, the best dancer. You re

Thank you, Becca replied with sincerity.
I don t know how you do it, Becca, Abby said with eyes bulging, especially the drop.
Miss Claudine finished her call and came over. You girls have worked so hard, she
said. I have a feeling tonight will be very special. The girls nodded in agreement, and
their teacher moved on to greet the next group arriving.
The dancers hurried into their costumes helping each other with zippers, extra
bobby pins, and hair spray. Becca was glad to be one of the first ready and to get out
of the stuffy commotion filled room. She went to the backstage area to begin
practicing her dance steps. Within fifteen minutes, she was surrounded by other
dancers doing the same thing.
To pass time, the dancers shared their plans for
Essay about A Summary of Beowulf
Beowulf begins with a history of the great Danish King Scyld (whose funeral is
described in the Prologue). King Hrothgar, Scyld s great grandson, is well loved
by his people and successful in war. He builds a lavish hall, called Heorot, to house
his vast army, and when the hall is finished, the Danish warriors gather under its
roof to celebrate. Grendel, a monster who lives at the bottom of a nearby mere, is
provoked by the singing and celebrating of Hrothgar s followers. He appears at the
hall late one night and kills thirty of the warriors in their sleep. For the next twelve
years, the fear of Grendel s fury casts a shadow over the lives of the Danes. Hrothgar
and his advisors can think of nothing to calm the monster s anger.... Show more

He tears off the monster s arm at the shoulder, but Grendel escapes, only to die soon
afterward at the bottom of his snake infested mere. The Danish warriors, who have
fled the hall in fear, return singing songs in praise of Beowulf s triumph. Hrothgar
rewards Beowulf with a great store of treasures. After another banquet, the warriors of
both the Geats and the Danes retire for the night.
Unknown to the warriors, however, Grendel s mother is plotting revenge (see
Grendel s Mother s Attack ). She arrives at the hall when all the warriors are
sleeping and carries off Aeschere, Hrothgar s chief advisor along with her son s
claw. (Click here to see the infamous claw!) Beowulf offers to dive to the bottom of
the lake, find the monster and destroy her. He and his men follow the monster s
tracks to the cliff overlooking the lake where Grendel s mother lives. They see
Aeschere s bloody head sitting on the cliff. While preparing for battle, Beowulf asks
Hrothgar to protect his warriors, and to send his treasures to his uncle, King Hygelac,
if he doesn t return safely.
Before Beowulf goes into the sea, Unferth offers him his sword, Hrunting. During
the ensuing battle Grendel s mother carries Beowulf to her underwater home. After
a terrible fight, Beowulf kills the monster with a magical sword, probably put there
by the Al Weilder, that he finds on the wall of her home. He also finds Grendel s
dead body, cuts off the head, and returns to
Altercation In Mark Twain s War Stories
The author starts War Stories off by telling about a dilemma between what they
describe as their uncle and a stranger. There was an altercation to where the uncle
punched the man so hard his eye came out (1 2). Throughout this story the author
ranges from a one on one altercation to a broader subject about red folks invent[ing]
the blues (31 32). Only thinking about the beginning is the author even telling the
truth about the altercation? The question arises because in the seventh stanza the
author states that they lied about the uncle and in fact he was a cousin who did not
really die (21 22). What stopped the author at that point from lying further in the
passage, or if what she said before was true? Why did the author feel the need
Drugs And Drug Use
Monkey see, monkey do is a phrase that almost everyone has heard this at least
once. This phrase means that people will do whatever they see other people doing.
In this case it relates to juveniles doing drugs. They do not just get the idea one day
to do drugs without first being exposed to it by someone close to them or just
seeing someone do it in front of them. Juveniles are still kids so they are curious
about how things work. Most times when a juvenile is a high risk youth and are
using drugs, they have usually seen a family member or a close friend doing a drug
and want to try. When adolescents become unable to function is when they abuse
drugs. If an adolescent is unable to attend or perform in school or to maintain social

Adolescents that use drugs and drink alcohol are more likely to get pregnant or
impregnate someone else. When they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol
they are hindering their brain, which makes it harder for them to think logically.
Once someone get pregnant or impregnate someone else they are more likely to
become a teenage parent, higher chances of dropping out of school, and
prematurely living independently from parents and guardians. Which then in turn
raises the chances of the adolescents using drugs or drinking alcohol. If a person
leaves school before graduation may not have any choice but a low paying
unskilled job, which in turn produces job instability and ongoing economic
disadvantages. There has long been a debate on whether drugs cause delinquency or
if delinquency leads to drug use or whether some other factors precede both
delinquency and the onset of drug use. Considerable research has shown that
delinquency tends to precede the use of drugs. Alcohol use follows a pattern of
minor delinquency and exposure to friends and parents who drink. Marijuana use
follows participation in minor delinquency and adoption of beliefs and values that
consistent with those held by peers but opposed by parents standards. There is very
little debate that
Physics Of The Solar System
Our solar system is home to many different types of planets and moons. These
differences can vary from the elements that make up the objects to the size of them.
While there are many different solar systems in the galaxy, they are unique in their
own way. The main reason for the differences in the solar systems is their formation

Phoenix can analyze the saltiness, pH, and other factors that can reveal if Mars s soil
could sustain life. A third source that can be used to find information about planets is
formulas. Over the years, formulas have been developed that, with the proper
information, can tell scientists the density, orbital period, or even temperature of an
object. Using the density of an object, scientists can infer what elements make it up,
as well as the orbital period and temperature to maybe find a planet that could support
life. Using information like this, scientists have guessed that Mars may have
supported life at some point in its existence, but that it is very unlikely Venus has.
Even though there are many differences, scientists have been able to use various
methods to learn much about the objects in our solar system.
In our solar system, the differences between planets and other objects mostly occur
because of their formation at the birth of our solar system. Although it is very
difficult to tell, most scientists believe that our solar system formed from a small
chunk of an interstellar gas cloud. If true, the composition of the gas cloud would
have caused the composition of our sun as well as that of other objects in our solar
system. Once the sun formed, that influenced the formation of the planets. Since it
was much warmer closer to the sun, only denser, metallic elements were able to
condense. This warmer
region is now home to the terrestrial planets, which

When we hear the word power politics many related words strike our mind that
together form its foundation. These words are treachery, diplomacy and hypocricy
which are the guiding principles in politics and act as a vehicle for a politician
towards great success and achievements. Political leaders increase their power
through manipulating peoples mind and emotions for their own benefits. The present
paper highlights the same fact by presenting the journey of transformation of an
innocent childish princess Vijaya into a strong and sensible political leader in Vijay
Tendulkar s play Encounter in Umbugland.

These ministers who were seasoned politicians like Vratyasom, Aranyaketu,
Pishtakeshi, Karkashirsha and Bhagadanta have a selfish motive behind crowning
princess Vijaya. They thought that they could misguide Queen Vijaya and fulfil their
selfish purpose as she is ignorant about political matters. The selfishness and
disloyalty of the ministers is visible throught what Vratyasom and Pishtakeshi speak
about honesty in politics.
VRATYASOM: Let us not open our mouths too wide about principles and honesty.
To observe these two virtues in politics is as inappropriate and stupid as celibacy

PISHTAKESHI : In politics one should have the hide of a rhinoceros, like

A Muslim husband in eastern Uganda killed his wife via strangling because she left
Islam and embraced Christianity, relatives and neighbors said.
On May 8, 34 year old Awali Kakaire strangled 30 year old Mariam Nakirya for
converting to Christianity. The Muslim husband left the house after the incident,
returned after two hours and forced his children into a garden hole, and has now fled
the Mbaale village, Morning Star News reports.
Kakaire was frequently away from his family for about a month at a time because of
business, so his wife and children often attended Sunday service at a nearby church.
He had started suspecting that his wife had embraced Christianity a month ago after
the local imam asked him why his family had been skipping mosque

Tokyo to Sydney. The idea behind the campaign from Clemenger BBDO Sydney, is
to show off the laptop s industry busting 17 hour battery life. The Made in 17 hours
campaign follows Matzu as he undertakes the challenge, demonstrating not only his
own unique talents, but the stunning battery life of the Toshiba PortГ©gГ© Z20t.

Lab Report Fractional Distillation
Discussion:
Fractional distillation is a process in which a mixture of unknown compounds are
separated based on their boiling points. Fractional distillation is distinguished from
simple distillation as the chemicals in the mixture will have a boiling point difference
of less than 25 degrees Celsius. In fractional distillation, the mixture is heated in a
round bottom flask and as the temperature rises, the mixture will begin to vaporize
and move up the column, as it is moving up the fractional column and down a
temperature gradient. As the vapor moves up the column there will be a cycle of
multiple vaporizations and condensations which consequently will cause the lower
boiling point compound to purify and move all the way through the column ... Show

The boiling points obtained for during fractional distillation also roughly aligned with
the correct unknowns, which were Acetone (low boiling point) and Toluene (high
boiling point). Any deviation in temperature may have resulted from a thermometer
placed too high in the fractional column. The gas chromatography portion of the
experiment produced three chromatograms with no apparent impurities. However,
fraction A was found to not be purely composed of Acetone, and fraction B was not
found to be a 50/50 mixture of Acetone and Toluene, yet, fraction C was found to be
pure Toluene. Therefore, the calculated ratio for the mixture, 40.95% acetone and
50.046% Toluene, was greatly off from the true ratio of 25% acetone and 75%
Toluene which can again be attributed to the impurities of fraction A. The retention
time reported for the Toluene was accurate at .861 minutes, however, the retention
time of acetone was slightly off at a value of .651 minutes when the true value is 0.64
minutes. The error of the acetone retention time may be attributed to the small
presence of toluene in the fraction A sample. Conclusively, while there is error in all
three sets of data the true identity of the high and low boiling point compounds are
able to be correctly determined through using the combination of retention time,
ratios, and boiling points to analyze which compounds align best with the overall
The Symbols of the Allegory of the Cave
The Symbols of The Allegory of the cave
The Allegory of the Cave , is a kind of theory by Plato. In the story, there are three
prisoners, sitting in a cave facing the back wall. They are chained at the neck and
cannot turn their heads. Behind them is a fire. Between the fire and the cave wall
there is a ridge in which puppets of sorts move along and cast shadows on the wall.
None of this can be seen by the prisoners. At the opposite end of the cave, behind
them, is the exit which leads up to the outside world. Then, one of the prisoner gets
free. It s painful to leave the cave physically as he hasn t moved in years and has
never seen real light of the sun, but once he gets used to it, he sees the world for what
it really is. Later, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also represents radiant energy. It is a good omen to have the sun shining in your
dream (Dreammoods.com). But to the prisoner the sun represents truth, those who
resided in the cave for so long lived a life of ignorance and watched shadows on the
cave wall. These shadows became their world, the shadows became their image of
their world. Those who chose to stay chose to accept how things are, but the few
who chose to see what is causing these shadows on the wall explored outside of the
cave and became temporarily blinded by the light from the sun (they became
enlightened) becoming temporarily blind from the sun represents that enlightenment
because now that you know what is causing these shadows you will never go back
into that cave because now you have discovered a world that is more real. What
causes us to see what we see is light, without light we are blind. Without truth we are
nothing.
The prisoners despise the freed prisoner who has been outside the cave who is
representing the philosopher, because he tells them everything they know is a lie
and unreal, and also because he appears to them to be a complete fool. He stagger
around in the darkness due to the fact he has been out in the sunlight and his eyes
have not adjusted to the darkness again. And if someone do that, They would put him
to death (Plato). The ability to listen to the freed prisoner and explore the world

Lion Leer Research Paper
A new species of lions have adapted to live in the temperate mountains regions in
Europe. A crossover between a lion and a deer has been discovered, the leer. The
leer, also known as the Leo Cervidae, it lives in the temperate mountain regions in
Europe. It has the body and characteristics of a lion, which are speed and
aggressiveness, but it also has the characteristics of a deer. It has horns like deer.
These horns are used for mating season. Leers use sexual reproduction and the
reproductive behaviors of these leers are that they fight with the other males by using
their horns. They attack and fight each other with their horns to show dominance of
the other leers. They use the horns because they do not want to kill each other, but to
prove who the strongest and most powerful leer is. Unlike regular lions, they fight
until death, but the leer is a rare species and they do not want their population to

Lions aren t usually accustomed to live in cold conditions, but the deer does. This is
a great combination because it can survive and stay warm in the winter while in the
spring and summer it loses its fur to be cooler. The leers can be found in the
temperate mountain regions of Europe. Temperate mountains tend to be a little colder
than the tropical mountains. In the spring and summer, there is a burst in plant life at
a high altitude of the mountains. This encourages these animals to climb up for food
Summary Of Poem For Happiness
In life we assign meaning to everything. We construct ideals for ourselves, and then
frequently fail to uphold our own decrees. We lazily allow meanings to run together
and they lose their value. We become so focused on the ideal of something that we
lose sight and understanding of the purposeful and essential things going on around
us each day. In Poem For Breakfast, written by Geoff Bouvier, and The Art of
Happiness, by Mary Ruefle; loss of meaningin everyday life is explored. Through
forms of repetition and concept connection, these authors build discursive and
dramatic structures which serve not only to organize their poems but also to question
the way society lives in accordance with the meanings it creates. In Poem For
Breakfast, author Geoff Bouvier links each stanzatogether with internal connectors,
just as paragraphs in an argumentative essay are smoothly joined by transitions. This
form of connection allows him to continually question the meanings of words while
still moving forward logically and expanding his argument. In the first stanza Bouvier
claims that Everything is food, and then explains and refutes his own statement,
immediately starting the process of questioning meanings. The second stanza
expands upon the first theme of food, beginning with the claim: Food is also called
fodder. Bouvier again immediately refutes his claim, remarking that calling food
fodder [is] like a misspelling where they let it keep the same meaning. While

s Letters in Pride and Prejudice In Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen s usage of
letters allows the reader to fully comprehend the situation and certain feelings of the

Wickham as well as Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. However the seriousness of the
situation in itself, the relationship between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet is
furthermore developed because of these two letters. Elizabeth turns to Mr. Darcy
as soon as he appears and immediately notifies him of everything. This action of
hers illustrates the budding closeness between the two and how she relies on
Darcy. Both Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy blame themselves for not exposing Mr.
Wickham as the vagrant that he truly is. Therefore, this shared guilt provides the
nascent couple with a strong emotional connection and a universal principle. A
major factor of a couple s relationship is how they react in times of distress. Do they
turn to each other for support or withdraw from one another? Elizabeth s reliance on
Mr. Darcy is a foreshadowing of a wonderful relationship to come for the couple.
The two letters alone are a catalyst in exposing these emotions that might otherwise
be suppressed. The two letters will generally contribute to furthering the
development of Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy s relationship. Perhaps the reasoning
behind Lydia s actions could be her family and their attitudes toward certain subjects
such as men, romance, and marriage. Mrs. Bennet is consistently pressuring her
daughters to become married women in order to ensure social status and financial
security for the remainder of their lives. It seems that her only goal in life is
Human Science And Natural Science
Disagreement may aid the pursuit of knowledge in the natural and human sciences
because disagreement leads to new discoveries. Disagreement is about gathering
reliable knowledge as well as using this newfound knowledge, and occurs when a
group fails to reach a consensus over the logic of an argument. Knowledge is
composed of facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience
or education. Two areas of knowledge that are impacted by disagreement are human
scienceand natural science. Human science is the study of human behavior and how
humans gather information. Natural science is a branch of science that deals with
the physical world. In order for a disagreement to occur, one must be familiar with
the subject and have his or her own prediction that is different from the norm.
Therefore, to advance knowledge in the areas of human and natural science, people
must disagree. The roles of logic, reason, and emotion will be investigated to see
how they are used to help gain new knowledge in both human and natural science.
Many knowledge claims in human and natural science are based on theories. Jean
Lamarck proposed the theory of evolutionin 1801. The theory of evolution proposed
by Lamarck was based on the idea that organisms had to change their behavior to
survive. For instance, if a giraffe stretched it neck for a long period of time to reach
the leaves as the top of the tree, then a nervous fluid would flow in the neck and
make it longer. Thus, its
Examples Of Classroom Observation For Children
For my classroom observation, I am placed with Alice Hunt at Genesis Child Care
Center. It has a very nice atmosphere and the children all seem to really enjoy their
cooperating teacher and classroom. My classroom has a lot of positive areas and is
beneficial to the children s development and learning. On the other hand, there is
some room for improvement inside the classroom. I think by adding some things to
the classroom and taking some things away would help the classroom become a better
more interactive classroom for the children. There are some things as a future
educator that I would like to bring into the classroom that I feel would implement the
classroom also.
The three things that I feel are very positive for the children and that I feel makes
the classroom a positive environment is for starters the artwork and their writings
placed around the room. Having the children s artwork and other work around the
room is crucial for building a strong relationship with the child and the parents see
that you care about everyone s work. Also, the children build a very strong
confidence to keep improving on their artwork or their own writings. The article
that Natasha read from our discussion board recently said that by having the
artwork placed on the walls through the classroom the children feel a part of the
classroom and that s exactly how my children feel when they walk through the
doors. Secondly the materials are all available for the children to easily access

To Kill A Mockingbird Theme Analysis
Throughout the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the theme loss of
innocence is explored heavily. This theme is being explored through the main
character Scout, as she evolves and changes along the 3 year course of the novel.
Losing innocence was described as a sin by Atticus Finch and looked down upon for
unjustifiable reasons. This was demonstrated by using the metaphor of killing a
mockingbird to describe it s cruelty. Consequently, we see through the character
Scout, when she fights Cecil Jacobs only to back down, when she starts to question
gender roles when she used to not care, and through walking home her biggest fear
Boo Radley, that losing your innocence is not an awful,on the other hand, a
commendable thing to do. By Scout killing her mockingbird, she becomes more in
touch with the world and less ignorant. This makes her a more mature, kind hearted,
and understanding person. Firstly, when Scout was about to begin fighting Cecil
Jacobs for calling her father a negro lover, which was clearly an insult towards
Atticus Finch. She was on the verge of fighting Cecil, however Atticus s words
echoed and made her change her decision. Even so, Scout wasn t fully grown up
and strong enough to resist fighting Francis when he said vile things about her
father. Scout doesn t have much temper control and so she was very close to
fighting Cecil Jacobs. She drew a bead on remembering what Atticus said, then had
dropped (her) fist and walked away... It was the

A prison is a sex segregated community and sexual gratification can only be
achieved through a person of the same sex. 2. Although the behavior is forbidden
and regulated, it is often tolerated by corrections officers and other inmates. This
passive acceptance encourages the creation of status roles, where some inmates are
assigned more masculine identities while others are seen as weaker. 3. Insufficient
work opportunities lead to boredom and idle time for long periods. Inmates who
work are kept busy and are less likely to participate in deviant behaviors. 4.
Overcrowding of prisons causes close quarters for inmates, in which they watch each
other change clothes and use the bathroom. Older inmates often take advantage of
this situation with the younger inmates. 5. The current classification system of
inmates does not segregate individuals based on sexual preference. 6. Complete
isolation from the outside world and the norms of society can influence inmates to

The Historical Context of Ridda, Shura, and Shi a Essay
Shura is an Arabic word for consultation and it is this that forms part of the four
cardinal principles (human dignity justice and equality) in the Islamic organisation
of social policys and politics. It was a method that the pre Islamic tribes of the
Middle East would use to make major affecting decisions. The term Shura is
mentioned several times in the holy Quran and is also used as a name in parliaments
of Muslim majority countries. Consultation applies to the choice of the head of state
as well as to all the decisions executed by the state. (Waines, 2009)

Marketing Mix And Telephone Operator O2
Introduction There is no single indicator of performance but a variety of different
measures which provide an insight into a telephone operator s economic, social,

planet along with its inhabitants will surely succumb to the human lust of
consumerism and ultimately the waste that such hunger produces. The
implantation of ecofriendly green packaging options would see a sharp decline in
the amount of waste that is produced each year and give the ability to recycle and
to produce new items from previously used packaging. In this report the team
discuss the concept of biodegradable plastics and their future implementation as
green food packaging alternatives to the current form of non eco friendly plastics
that are in existing use. Biodegradability refers to a composites ability to be
degraded by bacteria or other living organisms, plastics such as these can also be
susceptible to water and ultraviolet rays as sources of decomposition with this
aspect being discussed within the chapters of this report. As apart of this report,
team members assess the discovery, life cycle as well as the current or future
applications of three different types of bio plastic. Contained within is discussion on

Pros And Cons Of Animal Adoption
In the world today, over four million animals are euthanized yearly. There are a few
different options on how someone can retrieve their new fur baby such as adopting
from a shelter and buying from a puppy store. There are plenty of pros and cons of
adopting and buying from stores such as saving animals, cheaper prices, finding what
s comfortable, supporting puppy mills, and foul treatment of animals. In order to
rescue and to stop supporting puppy mills that lead to indecent animals. I believe that
people should begin to stop shopping and to open their minds to adoption. Shelters
are always full of dogs and cats patiently waiting for their perfect owner to find
them, but most never make it out. There are No Kill Shelters and there are High Kill
Shelter and unfortunately most of those who enter the High Kill Shelters never make
it out. The major aspect about adopting is giving a loyal animala second chance at
life. A pro for adoption is the fact that you get to rescue an animal that may have been
next in line for the euthanasia list.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you plan on intending to buy a bully breed you must go through processing. This
involves plenty of interviews and questions to determine if you are the right fit for
the animal. The way this can go wrong is that you may not be selected to receive
the animal. Another way that can make adopting a pain is that you may not find
the breed you were intending on buying. This can make the process of retrieving
your furry friend much longer. Lastly, your new friend may reject you and turn out
completely different than you would have expected, but it takes time and patience
to learn about one another. The main exception of buying from a store is that you
are most likely going to get the breed you intend on getting right then and there.
Puppy stores usually do not scan like adoption centers do. So, you will be approved

The Reauthorization Of The Elementary And Secondary...
Every Student Succeeds Act was a new law that was signed into legislation in 2015
by President Barak Obama. ESSA is a biparty educational reform law was designed
from several aspects of No Child Left Behind. The United States Department of
Education (2015) stated that ESSA focuses on factors such as, advancing equity for
the nations disadvantaged students by investing more in preschool programs, local
innovations, reporting student progress on all high stakes assessments to all
stakeholders and promoting of collegeand career readiness by increasing rigor and
reporting student progress on all high stakes test and assessments to all stakeholders.
Furthermore, it replaced NCLB that was signed into law under... Show more content

With this law, students are tested once while they are in high school. For this reason,
states must make every effort to ensure that all test are aligned to the college and
career ready standards. However, more changes in the law shifted position of the
high stakes test. This simply means that more factors will be used to determine
accountability. Test scores will no longer be the only measure that is used to
determine funding for states and accountability for teachers. Thus, the revisions to
ESSA reduce the level of risk for schools and the worry concerning test and scores.
Today, states have been given the opportunity to design a more rigorous system for
testing that focus solely on innovation and technology. Furthermore, ESSA provides
a great opportunity for a fresh start. As we review where we were with ESEA we will
begin to see how ESSA was designed how both acts tried to ensure quality education
for all students.
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) provided a great deal of
funding from the federal government. This act made the federal government a partner
in our children education. The ESEA is an extensive statute that funds primary and
secondary education, emphasizing high standards and accountability. As mandated in
the act, funds are authorized for professional development, instructional materials,
and resources to support educational programs, and the promotion of parental
involvement. The
A Study On Phenomenology Of Perception
The first portion of this study was conducted using a combined phenomenological
and focus group methodology. To justify this unorthodox design, it should be noted
that phenomenology is used to investigate not only experiences, but also the essence
of such through one s perception of a phenomenon. This philosophical branch of
phenomenologyis founded on Maurice Merleau Pontys phenomenology of perception
(Merleau Ponty Thomas, 2004). Merleau Ponty s philosophical stance poses that
understanding the lived experience is achieved by exploring one s perception of a
phenomenon (Thomas, 2005). The focus group interview was conducted virtually
using an online chat forum. The focus group took approximately an hour and fifteen
minutes to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The findings of the analysis were then used to construct conceptual maps (see Figures
1 2). These provide a concise and organized view of the realized themes and their
relationships. Concept mapping has been shown to reveal insights, organize data,
demonstrate relationships, and provide visual depictions to aid in the understanding
of a topic (Butler Kisber Polymath, 2010). Independent analysis was initially
conducted to enhance validity through investigator triangulation. Member checking
was completed in an informal manner to ensure proper interpretation of the data and
to improve the credibility of the analysis.
Results
Five themes were identified based on the analysis of the data. The identified themes
include: guilt, finding balance, time management, coping strategies, and burnout (see
Table 2 for data analysis summary). For confirmability, the identified themes are
described and supported by select verbatim text from the focus group transcript (see
Appendix) .
Guilt
Guilt was found to be a significant concept described by the participants. The
participants felt that their competing responsibilities take away from family time. For
example, Participant 1 stated: I was feeling like I was missing out on opportunities
with my family because of everything I had on my plate...The hardest part for me
was when my daughter would get sad because mommy was busy (Appendix).
Similarly, Participant 2 stated: The

There are many differences between business organisations, beginning with the
purpose and goals of an organisation. Business organisations belong to various
different categories including the private, public and non profit sectors. This
assignment will discuss a business organisation from each of those sectors, outlining
the purpose, objectives, and stakeholders of each. It will also discuss the different

Their short term objectives would be increasing sales. The vision would centre
around employee co ownership with the happiness of partners as the ultimate
purpose. The mission is the satisfaction of employees. Finally, the value would be to
represent the best possible choice, as a result of providing the best quality, trust and
customer service.
As for BA, their vision is being the world s most responsible airline , their value is
centred on putting people first.
The mission of WVI is to dedicate themselves to work with children, families and
communities to overcome poverty and injustice
1 2 Describe the extent to which an organisation meets the objectives of different
stakeholders
Stakeholders have a significant influence on the aims of an organisation. They are
the people who are affected by or interested in the business. In some organisations
the shareholders are stakeholders, and at times have some of the decision power. In
trade organisations, customers are also considered stakeholders; therefore their needs
are part of the organisation s overall objectives.
The following table outlines the stakeholders for each of British Airways, John Lewis
and World Vision International. It also indicates the level of power each stakeholder
represents and the organisations interest in them.

Nietzsche s View On The Genealogy Of Morals
According to Nietzsche s assertions in the first two essays of On the Genealogy of
Morals, human beings suffer because they have lost the ability to enjoy life to its
fullest extent. A significant shift in morals occurred from the time of the ancient
Greeks and Romans, who carried out good deeds with a surplus of energy simply
because they could afford to do so, to the predominantly Judeo Christian era of self
repression. This transition demonstrates a decline in our ability to make sense of our
lives and understand our true humanpurpose. Nietzsche suggests that we have
become out of touch with the truth we are no longer present in our lives. He urges us
to recognize the social constraints to which we sometimes unknowingly submit...

Clearly the Greeks fully embraced life, allowing themselves to feel and express a
spectrum of human emotions. One of the reasons Nietzsche so highly values the
Greeks is because while they understood that life is essentially, and inevitably
painful, they still had the strength to affirm it and act decisively, even horribly
(Gemes, ch.12). This is Nietzsche s ideal affirmation of life.
The Judeo Christian mindset, on the other hand, differs in that it inspires self
repression of natural human instincts, leading to suffering in the name of a divine
force called God. They are miserable says Nietzsche, but they tell me their misery is
a sign of being chosen by God (BWE, 135). Christianity and the church were major
foundations of European society in the Middle Ages when life was particularly
difficult due to the plague, low standards of hygiene, and poor quality of education.
Given such horrible conditions, the possibility of an afterlife seemed quite
attractive. Christians were therefore consoled for all their earthly suffering by the
fantasy of an afterlife, so called The Kingdom of God (BWE, 137). They found a
way to rationalize and justify suffering, therefore experiencing it with acceptance
and joy. The idea was that if a person lived a pious earthly life, they would be
rewarded with a more
Computerized Accounting Functions and Organizations...
TYPES OF COMPUTERIZED ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS By Kathy Adams
McIntosh, eHow Contributor Businesses use financial information to create
statements and to file income tax returns at the end of the year. Some businesses use
manual accounting systems, but many businesses opt for computerized accounting
systems to simplify the process and reduce errors. Businesses can choose between
different types of computerized accounting systems. 1. Purpose * A computerized
accounting system serves many purposes for the business owner. It improves
accuracy, enhances reporting capabilities and simplifies recording. Accuracy
increases because math processes occur automatically without human error. The

At the end of each period, nominal accounts are wiped clean and their values

Revenue amp; Expenses By Alan Li, eHow Contributor Nominal accounts are
closed out at the end of each accounting time period. In accounting, the accounts
that record the values of individual items and phenomenons can be divided into
either real or nominal accounts. Real accounts are used to keep up to date on
lasting items such as assets, liabilities, and equities. In contrast, nominal accounts
are used to keep up to date on certain phenomenon such as revenues and expenses
within a set time period. At the end of each period, nominal accounts are wiped
clean and their values relegated to real accounts. 1. Cash and Accrual Bases *
Almost all accounting is done on either a cash or an accrual basis. Cash and
accounting bases differ on when revenues and expenses are recognized. Recognition
means to record the transaction on the accounts in acknowledgment of its occurrence.
Cash basis recognizes revenues and expenses when cash or cash equivalents are
either received or paid out for either. In contrast, accrual basis recognizes revenues
and expenses at the times of their occurrences. Revenue Recognition * Accrual basis

The Role Of Single Motherhood And Residential Mobility
As...
While the nation tirelessly debates the state of immigration in this country, far less
attention has been devoted to migrations within the country and the implications it
has on affordable housing policy. Residential mobility is one of the primary factors in
measuring housing stability, and it often has crucial ramification on housing policy,
research, and service orientations that address a multitude of issues ranging from
neighborhood povertyto racial discrimination. While residential mobility is
widespread across the economic spectrum, low income families have consistently
been shown to move more frequently (Coulton, Theodos, Turner 56). Frequent or
involuntary residential mobility can have an array of consequences for families,
including disruption of employment, interference with the educational attainment of
children, and interruptions within social networks (Crowley et al. 56). With
approximately 26 percent of children living with a single parent today, and an
estimated 31 percent of single parent households living under the poverty line
(census), the research in this paper will examine the relationship between single
motherhood and residential mobility as a measure of housing stability. (Horowitz,
Parker, Rohal 7)
Residential mobility can be defined as the frequent change of residence, either within
the same city or town, or between cities, states and communities (Coulton et al. 261).

Bebop Research Paper
Bebop Jazz
Jazz is a genre of music in which improvisation is typically an important part. Jazz
has had a major influence on most popular music genres in the 20th century such as
rock, hip hop, Latin and the list goes on. There s a genre of jazz for every single
individual out there which makes it such an interesting topic and from there branches
another very popular subgenre of jazz called Bebop.
Bebop is a style of jazz which was developed in the 1940s. Bebop had the effect of
removing jazz from the mainstream of popular tunes which was mainly for dancing
and focused on music that was presented as a form of art other than entertainment.
Just like many subgenres of jazz, bebop was invented by African Americans around

So many of our songs rely on the invention of bebop. This isn t only art. This is a
part of our history. I think that all his pie ces are so wonderfully constructed and
each piece has its own uniqueness but at the same time are so easy to identify as
Parkers compositions as they all at the end of the day, have the same effort put into
them and has Parkers signature alto sax. The history behind the pieces, Parkers
story of how his father left and his rough childhood send shivers down my spine
and I think that everyone can learn a lesson from this musical hero. You can be
anything your pursuit to be but should be wise as well. Parker followed his dreams
and what he wanted to do but because he didn t make smart choices with his life, it
ended too soon. I think without Parkers story and music; the world would be
different. Without his tragic passing, the legend would have lived on and continued
to stun us with more music. I strongly believe he is up there looking down at his
music and is proud of what he has contributed to this generation. As the sayings go

  • 2. Inherent Thoughtfulness And Emotionalism In Life Is Beautiful Life can be very beautiful. In contrast, life for many people during World War 2 was not so beautiful. During this time, the world was at war. Gladly, during all the madness, in 1945 innocent people broke free, and concentration camps were liberated. The film Life is Beautiful, Guido demonstrated the three qualities; Inherent thoughtfulness and emotionality, expressive coherence, and wholeness and unity. Guido demonstrates the first quality, inherent thoughtfulness and emotionality, when he first arrives at the Nazi Concentration Camp after him and his son were taken from their home in Northern Italy by local German officials. Guido is playing against his own emotions by setting aside all his personal worries and doubts to do everything possible to be sure his son stays positive. Even though he realizes that he just lost the chance to say goodbye to his wife, Dora, and what his son is about to experience, he still plays the role of a sanguine character. When Guido played against his own emotions it showed the audience what Guido mentally and emotionally would be willing to put himself through to protect his family and dignity as a Jew. As a father, and the greatest role model his son will ever have, Guido protected his son from the dangerous world that he knew was up ahead. This environment found in the Concentration Camp is something that no young child should ever have to endure at such a young age. Guido realizes that once his son becomes infected with this negative
  • 3. The Struggle for Human and Labor Rights in Guatemala Essay In a time where the United States was guarding against the spread of Communism to Latin America, the workers of Guatemala faced a difficult time organizing to demand benefits and rights from their employers. Among others that struggled to form organized labor through the various repressive governments, the union at the Coca Cola Bottling Plant in the capital city was one of the most successful. This success can be attributed to the favorable rulings of Guatemalan labor courts, the tenacity of the union s members, international support and the cooperation of the transnational corporation of Coca Cola, headquartered in the United States. Embotelladora Guatemalteca S.A. (EGSA), the Coca Cola franchise in Guatemala City, was filled with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This however, did not stop the President of the company, Texan John Trotter, from sending Boche Morales home after he heard about the union. Indignity from this action immediately drew 167 more signatories to the pliego, 80% of the work force, in the next ten days (Frundt 5). The workers created a large single union between the plant workers and post mix workers (including the drivers) which made them stronger in the face of management. The management, in an attempt to instill divisiveness, tried to convince the workers that they would negotiate wage increases and other protections as long as they did not unionize. The workers knew there would be no guarantees and rejected this offer. With the help of Marta Torres of the Confederacion Nacional de Trabadores, they were able to get manager Armando Fong sent to jail for five days with a $500 fine for dismissing Boche Morales because of his part in organizing the union. Again management tried to appease leaders of the workers by offering them $15,000 each and residence in the United States to stop organizing. When they refused, the management threatened the lives of all the union members. Israel Marquez, a union leader, recalled the early attempts at forming a union, We continued to receive all sorts of threats and harassment. Trotter personally threatened me, saying, The army is going to get you. (Riding, Strife in

  • 7. Actually Dreaming with Wealth, Freedom, and Health Actually Dreaming When people think of the American Dream, typically the first three that come to mind are wealth, living in freedom, and good health. Perhaps you ve heard through tradition about these ideals, and through research, these three are the most prevalent parts of what people think of the American Dream. There are other elements that people can think of, of course, but as a general rule of thumb, these are the ones that people default to. Most people have the same basic idea of the American Dream, but most people are left ultimately unsatisfied with their lot in life and their personal fulfillment of this Dream. The problem with the American Dream is that the concept of it is not personal and the Dream is hard to achieve because the bar is set so high that people believe the Dream means that anyone can be the next Bill Gates or Whitney Houston. The American Dream should not be a one size fits all ideal. The American Dream is impersonal and vague; it doesn t describe the potential of the markers set. Financial stability...is the most frequently cited characteristic of living the American Dream (Longley). What does financial security mean in the scope of the Dream? Barely being able to provide for a family is not an ideal situation, but it is one that many (if not most) Americans are now having to experience. Does this notion of barely scraping by fit into our idea of the Dream, or must there be some kind of barrier, something keeping us from tipping into

The Authority Of Religious Elites In The 1640s Witch Hunts The Authority of Religious Elites in the 1640s Witch Hunts The large scale witch hunts that occurred from 1638 to 1651 gathered momentum via major happenings in the political, societal, and religious domains developing at the time. Individuals who had either political, religious or economic power in society, also known as elites, together had absolute control over the pursuit and prosecution of individuals who partook in witchcraft. The clergy played a crucial role in the witchcraft prosecutions and were slower than the state and localities to desert their beliefs in the reality of witches as the prosecution of witchcraft was, in their eyes, an effective tool to eradicate social deviance. Though local authorities and the Parliament did contribute to the witch hunts significantly, without the kirk of Scotlanddeclaring and encouraging this sanction on witchcraft, both other parties would not have taken the actions they ultimately did. This essay will provide a brief description of events that took place from 1638 to 1651 and then utilize evidence from a multitude of sources to argue that the religious elites were the most influential of these forces during the witchcraft prosecutions that occurred in the 1640s. At first I started back, unable to believe that was indeed who I was reflected in the mirror: and when I became fully convinced that I was in the reality the monster that I am, I was filled with bitterest sensation of despondence and mortification (16. 116 17). The plena, another typical form of Puerto Rican music, was considered the singing newspaper. Call and response, another African influence, is a component of traditional African musical expression in which a phrase is sung (chanted by part of a group of people and that phrase is responded to by a refrain by the other part of the group. Call and response is a component of the bomba, the plena, and the danza and still exists today as an important ingredient of Puerto Rican music. It facilitates dialogue, and encourages a sense of community by enabling more people to join in, which then closes the gaps between classes and races (Waxer, Oct. 29). The third traditional form of Puerto Rican music is the danza. This genre, developed by mulato artisans in late nineteenth century, reflected the race, class, and nationality issues which were present at that time. As the plena and the bomba had African roots, the danza had roots in English, French, and
  • 16. Compare and Contrast Two Supply Chains, Drawing on... To start, it is vital to clarify the concept of a supply chain. It consists basically of all the process that the materials suffer as they flow from the source to the final customer. There are many concepts linked to this term, purchasing, warehousing, manufacturing, etc. Or more precisely: a supply chain is a system of business enterprises that link together to satisfy consumer demand. The elements of a supply chain can be contained in the same business or be part of different companies (Riddalls et Al., 2000) For this essay I have chosen two very different companies; Zara, a Spanish fashion collection manufacturing company, and Dell, American multinational information technologic corporation. That is why they always have fresh and trendy designs. In terms of production, they have and control the main factory in La CoruГ±a (north of Spain) to be able to supply as fast as possible all the stores. The fact of having the factory in Europe and not in other countries such as China is high, but it is something that is covered by lower transportation costs as well as the capacity to supply demand almost immediately, which its translated in big amount of sells. It is a very flexible demand based production. Another positive point of Zara, due to high frequency of changing clothes is the low risk that this report. As they change constantly the outfit, if there is a product that is working good it can be immediately replace within a maximum of one week, while in other companies, where the stock is bigger, it will need to be stored in the shops for longer time. This will carry on low inventory costs. Zara, has an agile production that focus it success in the quick response to demand even though it is no, a priori, predictable. Dell s supply chain, on the other hand it is completely different that Zara s one. The components of Dell s supply chain are the customers, Dell s website (which is the only official place where you can buy a Dell computer), Dell s assembly plant and Dell s suppliers. The way Dell computers production works is completely different from

When I was8 one, we went to Mount Rushmore and witnessed the fireworks display. At the age of two, we were at the grandaddy of them all, Cheyenne Frontier Days. In 2003, I was three, we went spelunking in caves to explore Ruby Fall, Tennesse. I remember nothing about these vacations, except what I was told years later about them. However, when I was the ripe young age of four, my family went on vacation to Upper Peninsula Michigan. That vacation is, to this day, my favorite one we ever took. This is probably due to it being the very first vacation that I can actually remember. Over the years we have traveled to many different places, but the vacation to Michigan is by far my most memorable experience. The events that occurred on this trip instilled a sense of adventure and curiosity into me. When we traveled, we did not fly, go by train, or stay in a fancy hotel. Nope, not my family. We drove everywhere, even all the way up to Michigan. We were in a truck that seated exactly six people, not necessarily a comfortable experience. In addition to all of that, we stayed in our camper for the whole vacation, practically living on top of each other. Good thing that we really love each other, huh? The trip was during the first week of July, so on the Fourth of July my parents decided that we would go to the Soo Locks in Sault

  • 19. Essay about A Summary of Beowulf Beowulf begins with a history of the great Danish King Scyld (whose funeral is described in the Prologue). King Hrothgar, Scyld s great grandson, is well loved by his people and successful in war. He builds a lavish hall, called Heorot, to house his vast army, and when the hall is finished, the Danish warriors gather under its roof to celebrate. Grendel, a monster who lives at the bottom of a nearby mere, is provoked by the singing and celebrating of Hrothgar s followers. He appears at the hall late one night and kills thirty of the warriors in their sleep. For the next twelve years, the fear of Grendel s fury casts a shadow over the lives of the Danes. After another banquet, the warriors of both the Geats and the Danes retire for the night. Unknown to the warriors, however, Grendel s mother is plotting revenge (see Grendel s Mother s Attack ). She arrives at the hall when all the warriors are sleeping and carries off Aeschere, Hrothgar s chief advisor along with her son s claw. (Click here to see the infamous claw!) Juveniles are still kids so they are curious about how things work. Most times when a juvenile is a high risk youth and are using drugs, they have usually seen a family member or a close friend doing a drug and want to try. When they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol they are hindering their brain, which makes it harder for them to think logically. Once someone get pregnant or impregnate someone else they are more likely to become a teenage parent, higher chances of dropping out of school, and prematurely living independently from parents and guardians. Which then in turn raises the chances of the adolescents using drugs or drinking alcohol. If a person leaves school before graduation may not have any choice but a low paying unskilled job, which in turn produces job instability and ongoing economic disadvantages. There has long been a debate on whether drugs cause delinquency or if delinquency leads to drug use or whether some other factors precede both delinquency and the onset of drug use. Considerable research has shown that delinquency tends to precede the use of drugs. Alcohol use follows a pattern of minor delinquency and exposure to friends and parents who drink. Marijuana use follows participation in minor delinquency and adoption of beliefs and values that consistent with those held by peers but opposed by parents standards. There is very little debate that

Using the density of an object, scientists can infer what elements make it up, as well as the orbital period and temperature to maybe find a planet that could support life. Using information like this, scientists have guessed that Mars may have supported life at some point in its existence, but that it is very unlikely Venus has. Even though there are many differences, scientists have been able to use various methods to learn much about the objects in our solar system. In our solar system, the differences between planets and other objects mostly occur because of their formation at the birth of our solar system. Although it is very difficult to tell, most scientists believe that our solar system formed from a small chunk of an interstellar gas cloud. If true, the composition of the gas cloud would have caused the composition of our sun as well as that of other objects in our solar system. Once the sun formed, that influenced the formation of the planets. Since it was much warmer closer to the sun, only denser, metallic elements were able to condense. This warmer region is now home to the terrestrial planets, which

Fractional distillation is distinguished from simple distillation as the chemicals in the mixture will have a boiling point difference of less than 25 degrees Celsius. In fractional distillation, the mixture is heated in a round bottom flask and as the temperature rises, the mixture will begin to vaporize and move up the column, as it is moving up the fractional column and down a temperature gradient. As the vapor moves up the column there will be a cycle of multiple vaporizations and condensations which consequently will cause the lower boiling point compound to purify and move all the way through the column ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The boiling points obtained for during fractional distillation also roughly aligned with the correct unknowns, which were Acetone (low boiling point) and Toluene (high boiling point). Any deviation in temperature may have resulted from a thermometer placed too high in the fractional column. The gas chromatography portion of the experiment produced three chromatograms with no apparent impurities. However, fraction A was found to not be purely composed of Acetone, and fraction B was not found to be a 50/50 mixture of Acetone and Toluene, yet, fraction C was found to be pure Toluene. Therefore, the calculated ratio for the mixture, 40.95% acetone and 50.046% Toluene, was greatly off from the true ratio of 25% acetone and 75% Toluene which can again be attributed to the impurities of fraction A. The retention time reported for the Toluene was accurate at .861 minutes, however, the retention time of acetone was slightly off at a value of .651 minutes when the true value is 0.64 minutes. The error of the acetone retention time may be attributed to the small presence of toluene in the fraction A sample. Conclusively, while there is error in all three sets of data the true identity of the high and low boiling point compounds are able to be correctly determined through using the combination of retention time, ratios, and boiling points to analyze which compounds align best with the overall

We lazily allow meanings to run together and they lose their value. We become so focused on the ideal of something that we lose sight and understanding of the purposeful and essential things going on around us each day. In Poem For Breakfast, written by Geoff Bouvier, and The Art of Happiness, by Mary Ruefle; loss of meaningin everyday life is explored. Disagreement is about gathering reliable knowledge as well as using this newfound knowledge, and occurs when a group fails to reach a consensus over the logic of an argument. Knowledge is composed of facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education. Two areas of knowledge that are impacted by disagreement are human scienceand natural science. Human science is the study of human behavior and how humans gather information. Natural science is a branch of science that deals with the physical world. In order for a disagreement to occur, one must be familiar with the subject and have his or her own prediction that is different from the norm. Therefore, to advance knowledge in the areas of human and natural science, people must disagree. The roles of logic, reason, and emotion will be investigated to see how they are used to help gain new knowledge in both human and natural science. Many knowledge claims in human and natural science are based on theories. Jean Lamarck proposed the theory of evolutionin 1801. The theory of evolution proposed by Lamarck was based on the idea that organisms had to change their behavior to survive. The three things that I feel are very positive for the children and that I feel makes the classroom a positive environment is for starters the artwork and their writings placed around the room. • 37. To Kill A Mockingbird Theme Analysis Throughout the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the theme loss of innocence is explored heavily. This theme is being explored through the main character Scout, as she evolves and changes along the 3 year course of the novel. Losing innocence was described as a sin by Atticus Finch and looked down upon for unjustifiable reasons. This was demonstrated by using the metaphor of killing a mockingbird to describe it s cruelty. Consequently, we see through the character Scout, when she fights Cecil Jacobs only to back down, when she starts to question gender roles when she used to not care, and through walking home her biggest fear Boo Radley, that losing your innocence is not an awful,on the other hand, a commendable thing to do. By Scout killing her mockingbird, she becomes more in touch with the world and less ignorant. This makes her a more mature, kind hearted, and understanding person. Firstly, when Scout was about to begin fighting Cecil Jacobs for calling her father a negro lover, which was clearly an insult towards Atticus Finch. She was on the verge of fighting Cecil, however Atticus s words echoed and made her change her decision. Even so, Scout wasn t fully grown up and strong enough to resist fighting Francis when he said vile things about her father. Scout doesn t have much temper control and so she was very close to fighting Cecil Jacobs. She drew a bead on remembering what Atticus said, then had dropped (her) fist and walked away... It was the

Although the behavior is forbidden and regulated, it is often tolerated by corrections officers and other inmates. This passive acceptance encourages the creation of status roles, where some inmates are assigned more masculine identities while others are seen as weaker. 3. Insufficient work opportunities lead to boredom and idle time for long periods. Inmates who work are kept busy and are less likely to participate in deviant behaviors. 4. Overcrowding of prisons causes close quarters for inmates, in which they watch each other change clothes and use the bathroom. The Historical Context of Ridda, Shura, and Shi a Essay Shura is an Arabic word for consultation and it is this that forms part of the four cardinal principles (human dignity justice and equality) in the Islamic organisation of social policys and politics. For this reason, states must make every effort to ensure that all test are aligned to the college and career ready standards. However, more changes in the law shifted position of the high stakes test. This simply means that more factors will be used to determine accountability. Test scores will no longer be the only measure that is used to determine funding for states and accountability for teachers. Thus, the revisions to ESSA reduce the level of risk for schools and the worry concerning test and scores. Today, states have been given the opportunity to design a more rigorous system for testing that focus solely on innovation and technology. Furthermore, ESSA provides a great opportunity for a fresh start. As we review where we were with ESEA we will begin to see how ESSA was designed how both acts tried to ensure quality education for all students. The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) provided a great deal of funding from the federal government. This act made the federal government a partner in our children education. The ESEA is an extensive statute that funds primary and secondary education, emphasizing high standards and accountability. Nietzsche s View On The Genealogy Of Morals According to Nietzsche s assertions in the first two essays of On the Genealogy of Morals, human beings suffer because they have lost the ability to enjoy life to its fullest extent. A significant shift in morals occurred from the time of the ancient Greeks and Romans, who carried out good deeds with a surplus of energy simply because they could afford to do so, to the predominantly Judeo Christian era of self repression. This transition demonstrates a decline in our ability to make sense of our lives and understand our true humanpurpose. Nietzsche suggests that we have become out of touch with the truth we are no longer present in our lives. He urges us to recognize the social constraints to which we sometimes unknowingly submit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Clearly the Greeks fully embraced life, allowing themselves to feel and express a spectrum of human emotions. One of the reasons Nietzsche so highly values the Greeks is because while they understood that life is essentially, and inevitably painful, they still had the strength to affirm it and act decisively, even horribly (Gemes, ch.12). This is Nietzsche s ideal affirmation of life. The Judeo Christian mindset, on the other hand, differs in that it inspires self repression of natural human instincts, leading to suffering in the name of a divine force called God. They are miserable says Nietzsche, but they tell me their misery is a sign of being chosen by God (BWE, 135). Christianity and the church were major foundations of European society in the Middle Ages when life was particularly difficult due to the plague, low standards of hygiene, and poor quality of education. Given such horrible conditions, the possibility of an afterlife seemed quite attractive. Christians were therefore consoled for all their earthly suffering by the fantasy of an afterlife, so called The Kingdom of God (BWE, 137). They found a way to rationalize and justify suffering, therefore experiencing it with acceptance and joy. The idea was that if a person lived a pious earthly life, they would be rewarded with a more

While the nation tirelessly debates the state of immigration in this country, far less attention has been devoted to migrations within the country and the implications it has on affordable housing policy. Residential mobility is one of the primary factors in measuring housing stability, and it often has crucial ramification on housing policy, research, and service orientations that address a multitude of issues ranging from neighborhood povertyto racial discrimination. While residential mobility is widespread across the economic spectrum, low income families have consistently been shown to move more frequently (Coulton, Theodos, Turner 56). Frequent or involuntary residential mobility can have an array of consequences for families, including disruption of employment, interference with the educational attainment of children, and interruptions within social networks (Crowley et al. 56). With approximately 26 percent of children living with a single parent today, and an estimated 31 percent of single parent households living under the poverty line (census), the research in this paper will examine the relationship between single motherhood and residential mobility as a measure of housing stability. (Horowitz, Parker, Rohal 7) Residential mobility can be defined as the frequent change of residence, either within the same city or town, or between cities, states and communities (Coulton et al. 261).
