Why Is It Important To Build Roman Buildings
Roman buildings were based on the Greeks architectural orders, the Doric, Ionic and Corinthian. In
additional to those they added one of their own, the Composite, which practically was a
combination of the Ionic and the Corinthian order. Although Romans didn t invent the wheel; they
invented something almost equally important, the concrete. The new material spread so fast and
took the leading position in the way buildings were constructed.
The innovation of concrete really transformed the appearance of their buildings. Its basic
component the pozzolana, a volcanic element was in abundance around Rome and not only made
concrete stronger than marble it could be easily decorated.(The Romans,n.d,par.2) Along with
concrete they used bricks to make buildings more solid and stones in various shapes to give an
aesthetic view to the buildings. But ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The arch allowed Romans to build larger and more varied buildings.
ROMAN ARCHITECTURE 3
Almost every Roman building included arches, but those can be seen in other places as well, at the
Colosseum, in aqueducts, at temples etc. They constructed circular temples as the Pantheon, or the
famous baths of Caraccala.
Triumph arches that had only a single or a double entrance had no other function than to celebrate
significant events like a military victory. (Cartwright, 2013)
Since its introduction, the arch applied to almost all future empires and all civilizations. The
Roman architecture influenced many nations and many monuments were designed in the same way
as the ones of the Roman period. Concrete and arch changed the way of construction and had an
impact on architecture in all over the world. That was the Roman legacy and it is no surprise that
Roman buildings are still standing in our time and treated with

Plastic Waste Of Plastics
Plastic waste Americans are generating more plastic trash than ever, and very little of it gets
recycled. Plastics and their byproducts are littering our cities, oceans, and waterways, and
contributing to health problems in humans and animals.Plastic pollution is one of the greatest
threats to ocean health worldwide. In spite of society s many efforts to properly dispose of plastic
waste, between 4 and 12 million metric tons of plastic waste enter the ocean each year enough to
cover every foot of coastline on the planet. And that amount is expected to more than double in the
next 10 years Stop using plastic straws, even in restaurants. If a straw is a must, purchase a
reusable stainless steel or glass straw.
How can you stop plastic waste
One of the easiest ways to keep plastic out of the landfill is to refuse plastic straws. Simply
inform your waiter or waitress that you don t need one, and make sure to specify this when
ordering at a drive thru. Can t fathom giving up the convenience of straws? Purchase a reusable
stainless steel or glass drinking straw. Restaurants are less likely to bring you a plastic one if they
see that you ve brought your own.The things about plastic bags that there are 1 million plastic
bags are used every minute, and a single plastic bag can take 1,000 years to degrade. If you re
already bringing reusable bags to the grocery store, you re on the right track, but if you re still

Analysis Of Getting Ryan By Chris Landreth
The long history of the combination of animation and documentary is one that stretches back to the
earliest days of moving image. One conjures up thoughts of comedy, children s entertainment and
fantasies, while the other carries with it the assumption of seriousness, education and evidence,
which can nonetheless seem oxymoronic. However these new and relatively explored sub genres
actually depict a new field in the documentarygenre known as animated documentary. Filmmaker
John Grierson defines documentary as the creative treatment of actuality, (Ehrlich 248) Meaning
that documentaries do not have to be presented as only live action filmbut rather a variety of
creative expressions to reproduce actuality. Though animationand documentary... Show more

Animation shifts and broadens the limitations of what can be shown about reality by offering new
and alternative ways of seeing the world. It allows for the conventional subject matter of
documentary to be presented in a non conventional way. It also has the potential to convey
conscious experiences, such as memories and dreams visually, which is traditionally beyond what a
live action documentary can achieve. Animation has the potential to the viewers insight into the
mental states of other people. This is the kind of technique is what Chris Landreth did when
creating the animated documentary Ryan. Landreth create metaphorical visuals and portrays the
exact way he feels and sees people around him and makes his own surreal interpretation. Landreth
explains Getting inside people s heads, and showing in a visual, metaphorical way, the thought
processes, the emotional processes... accentuates the realism of the story, and in this case a

effective and entertaining but also abruptly brings the viewer to recognise how sombre it all it.

Bluest Eye Thesis
Toni Morrison s book The Bluest Eye tells the story of Pecola Breedlove, an eleven year old
black girl who desperately wants blue eyes because she thinks they ll make her beautiful.
Because of her father, she becomes the epicenter of town gossip and a scapegoat that the people
use to make themselves feel superior. Pecola feels hated and ugly in her community because she
s black and seems convinced that if she had blue eyes, all her problems would go away. Morrison
s novel is a timeless work of art that explores and develops many themes such as the idea that
being white is equivalent to being beautiful. Like many incredible pieces of literature, the novel
continues to inspire people. After reading the novel, I realized that in a way, I m Pecola: I m a

In the novel, Claudia Macleer, the narrator and childhood friend of Pecola is given white baby
dolls, which she dismembers. As Claudia reflects on the fact that she occasionally feels the
impulse to do the same to little white girls, she asks: what made people look at them and say,
awwwww, but not for me (22)? While the circumstances in which she has this revelation are a bit
extreme, it shows that in her society, there is an implicit message that being white is equal to
being beautiful and that if you re a young white girl, you re beautiful but, if you re a young black
girl, you re a monster. At the age of eleven, Pecola detests everything about herself. She thinks
that because she s black she s ugly and doesn t deserve to be loved. She s convinced that if she had

Drum Brake Steps
ere are four things you need to know about fixing drum brakes that are different from fixing disc
brakes. If you already know how to repair disc brakes, this information will help you make the
transition to working on drum brakes a little easier.
#1 You Will Need A Few Special Tools
In addition to the typical tools that you use while working on your vehicle, you will also need
three specific tools that are designed to make working on drum brakes an easier and safer process.
Brake Adjusting Tool: This tool is designed to allow you to properly adjust the rear shoe on your
drum brakes. The adjustment process on drum brakes is especially sensitive. If you don t adjust
the brakes just right, you will have to push your brake in extremely far to ... Show more content on

Specifically, you need to make sure that you keep the brake friction surfaces clean. If any
contaminates get on the friction material, you may end up needing to completely replace the
friction material if the contaminates cannot be removed.
If you get oil or grease on the drum friction surface, try first to wipe it off with a rag dipped in
brake parts cleaner. If any contaminates are stuck on the friction surface, you may be able to
remove them with some fine sandpaper and a soft cloth.
#4 Don t Forget To Lubricate The Backing Plates
Finally, when you install the drum brake shoes, you need to make sure that the knuckles the drum
brake shoes rest on are well lubricated. You ll wantto clean the area first with a cloth and possible
some brake parts cleaner. Then you will want to apply white lithium grease to the knuckles the
shoes rest on. This will ensure that the shoes are able to move properly when you installed them.
Working on drum brakes requires a lot of the same skills and knowledge that you used when you
worked on disc brakes. However, the type brake systems are not identical. Keep in mind the tips
above when you work on your disc brake

Introduction. As A Child, I Always Dreamt Of Joining Law
Introduction As a child, I always dreamt of joining law enforcement. My dad peaked my interest
in the field. Years ago, he was a Correctional officer for the Weld County Sheriff s office; I always
admired him for what he did. I knew right then, that is exactly what I wanted to do. My
perception of law enforcement was based on what I saw on television, from C.S.I to Criminal
Minds and Cold Case. I thought the agencies functioned as a set team. A team who worked
together to solve the case. How they functioned was by having a call; without seconds of delay,
they were on the case, then a half hour later the case was solved. Everyone went home, the end, life
moved on. Reality stuck me when I first started studying law enforcement; I was just a... Show

During my training at the academy, I saw the degree of hatred, madness, cruelty, and
indifference that individuals can harbor towards each other. It also verified the lack of
responsibility an individual takes for such a crime. My belief on an individual s ability to
rapidly change their mindset was reassured in college level courses. This was more so finding
the understanding of why a person acts the way that they do. I was able to get this is in my
psychology courses for my minor. These courses helped me to understand the true meaning of
what is cognitively going on in the person s brain that makes them think and act in a certain way.
Psychology, also, helped with the understanding of why there was a certain type of person that
would end up in the system. Judicial processes were another class that was able to provide a
better understanding of how the courts worked in their variety of aspects of law enforcement.
After taking judicial process, I learned the criminal justice system is not a perfect system. There
are many flaws in the system, which are, sadly, unchangeable. As we would all like to think there
is justice for all, with the safeguards to life and liberty, it is not always the case; many people who
are read their Maranda rights, who are supposed to be innocent until

Question 1: What strengths and what shortcomings do you see in the newly developed

tests. In the application process, tests such as the group exercise and the panel interview provide
a high level of consistency between the test items or problems, and the kinds of situations or

Road Bike Advantages And Disadvantages
MTB or ATB is an abbreviation for mountain or all terrain bicycle. Their construction differs from
a normal bicycle as they have suspensioned frame to stand the mountain trails, logging roads ,
washouts, loose gravel, roots and all other unpaved conditions they are often used in. Other than
that they have knobby treaded heavy duty wheels, more powerful brakes and lower gear ratios to
withstand steep hills with poor traction. As a result of this development in 1970s many kinds of
different mountain bikes appeared on the market as cross country, freeride and downhill MTBs.

produces zero pollution.
пїјпїјпїјпїјAvoid pollution
You might think that a cyclist sucks up more pollution than a driver of a car or a bus passenger,
but this is wrong according to the research conducted by Imperial college in London. The car
driver sucks up more exhaust fumes (ultrafarine particles that can damage our lung cells),an
average car driver sucks up more than 100 000 particles per cubic centimeter, more than 10 times
bigger amount of inhaled pollution than the cyclist does, as the cyclist rides at the edge of the road

A lot of people think that running is the best way for slimming down. This is right but think about

George Meredith s View On Modern Love Poetry
The poets view on modern love is scary because he uses death to represent love how someone
feels when the one they love dies and they don t know what to do with their self and all they can
do it just sit and mope around looking for a way to get over it but can t until death take over
them. By this he knew she wept with waking eyes George Meredith. When her husband died she

City Thrift Business Analysis
Social commerce is similar to e commerce, a way to buy and sale services and products on the
internet (Tuten Solomon, 2015). But social commerce goes a little farther with how it moves
through cyber world. It uses tools such as user s rates, referrals or social advertising. A small
business here in Jackson, Tn., I am familiar with is City Thrift, a consignment store that has a lot
of odds and ends, a little hidden treasure. There are several consignment stores around town which
makes the reason I have chosen this market. City Thrift can stand out if it enhances its social
commerce. It offers I feel to some others of its kind better selection of stuff should I say. You can

Rumours, by Fleetwood Mac Essay
In 1977, when Fleetwood Mac released their multi platinum album Rumours, I was 4 years old
and far too young to appreciate music. As I entered my mid 20s, I had acquired a passion for
music of the 1970s and fell in love with the Eagles, Rush, Led Zeppelin, but most importantly,
Fleetwood Mac. Their music had become a part of me. It had developed into my personal
therapeutic outlet and helped to keep me sane during any emotional upheaval that I might have
been experiencing. It was then that I realized that the passionate, heartfelt music of Fleetwood Mac
captured the very being of my soul and I became entranced. At any point of the day, whether at

There was not a single song on the album that did not come to life and cause all of us to relate to
every emotion within their songs. When listening to Go Your Own Way one hears the lyrics,
Loving you isn t the right thing to do. / How can I ever change things that I feel? / If I could
baby I d give you my world. / How can I when you won t take it from me? / You can go your own
way, go your own way. These lyrics capture your soul. They speak of the pain that accompanies
the demise of a relationship. On the other hand, Don t Stop provokes feelings of hope and
optimism instead of wallowing in the past. The entire playlist of Rumors causes lovers to reflect
upon their own past heartbreak and relate. The album s ability to make that kind impression on a
person s heart makes it phenomenal. We all desire to be able to relate to others and to feel
understood. Once we make that connection, it remains with us always.
Moreover, according to the Recording Industry Association of America, Rumourswas certified

Furthermore, the album spent 31 weeks on top of the Billboard charts and won the Grammy

Kuwait began as a nomadic population in the span of two hundred years it shifted from nomadic to

What is the biblical basis for deity?
Several basis of deity is that demonstration would show of God like attributes, teachings being
consistent and correspond to the wisdom of God. As Jesus deity he showed all the above that I had

That to Him is saying that you are the son of the father of lies.
What are the common objections to the traditional understanding of Christology, and how do you
respond to them?
Some objections were it being a philosophical idea than it being historical revelation. Another
was that there is no divine production of the world or there being three different people but as a
union. There s another one saying that Jesus didn t fully become man and didn t have the true
things of man. How I would respond to this is by starting off with saying yes it is true that He
didn t fully become man, but He still have all things that man have reason is because He would
not be able to come to save our souls and prolong our lives as well as being kept from
condemnation to the point where you won t have no chance to tell God who you are. We would
have been sent straight to hell without no anymore chances at all. But for Apollinaris saying He
didn t have any man like qualities or attributes that will show that He has came to us as a man.
In what ways is Christ in his humanity an example to you?
He is an example to me in a way that Love will and can conquer all. Also, being led by the Father
leads you in the right direction, give you knowledge and wisdom to do or say. That trusting in Him
you can receive things that are really more substantial than material

Insanity In Hamlet Essay
Questioning the Sanity of Hamlet In Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Hamlet s sanity is
questionable throughout the play. Insanity is defined as the unsoundness of mind or lack of the
ability to understand (Merriam Webster). In the play, Hamlet s father, King Hamlet, is murdered by
Claudius, Hamlet s uncle, in secrecy. To make matter s worse, Claudius then continues on to get
married in an inscetuous relationship with Hamlets mother, the queen. Emotions are heightened

Hamlet displays intelligence in the pursuit of avenging his father s death.
Hamlet again displays critical thinking when he does not blindly kill but first proves to himself
that Claudius is, in fact, guilty. To do this, Hamlet requests a player to perform a play that
Hamlet had edited to mimic King Hamlet s murder. If Claudius do blench, I know my course
(Shakespeare, II.ii.626 627), the course being murdering Claudius. By having a reaction to the
play, Claudius is inadvertently admitting to Hamlet that he is guilty of murder. Some think that
this is not enough evidence to commit treason, however, later in the play the readers learn that
Claudius admits to murder in the secrecy of the church; my offense is rank, it smells to the
heavens; It hath the primal eldest curse upon t, A brother s murder (Shakespeare, III.iii.40 42). By
admitting his guilt it is know Hamlet is not insane, rather is justified in his pursuit of revenge. It is
near impossible for Hamlet to prove Claudius guilty, and the play is the best way he can. It is
irrefutable that the play is better than nothing, and this is a clear exhibit of critical thinking a
quality insane people cannot posses.
During the second appearance of the ghost, Hamlet is the only one who can see it. Many argue
this is a sign the ghost is false, and Hamlet is crazy because he can see it. While having a
conversation with his mother, Queen Gertrude, Hamlet sees the ghost and converses with

Turning my focus back to the church building, I noticed several Bolivians standing inside the

The girls were dressed in shorts and tank tops, and most of the boys just wore a pair of ragged

as well as a few other buildings.

The Development Of Human Development Essay
Human Development in Children aged 11years
Human development refers to the biological and psychological development in the human being
throughout the lifespan. It consists of the development from infancy, childhood and adolescence to
adulthood.
In this essay I will analyse two practiced based experiences to demonstrate my understanding of
human development. For my first practiced based experience, I will be drawing on Lev Vygotskys
Sociocultural Development Theory. His key concepts of The Zone of Proximal Development, More
Knowledgeable Others, and Internalisation.
For my second practiced based experience I will draw on Erik Erikson s Theory of Identity
Development. His key concept of psychosocial development stages.
My first experience concerns an 11year old girl named Ella.
I was sitting in the library with Ella after she had completed her E asTTle testing. While we were
waiting to head back to the classroom Ella was completing a math s project. She explained to me
that she was in a higher learning level math s group and was completing a math s badge. Mrs.
Jones head of math s for year 7/8 is assisting Ella with her math s badge and told me that Ella is
doing extremely well.
My second experience was observing a group of 5 girls that had gone outside to practice their
presentation of an Anzac day story to be delivered before their peers. When one of the girls
proceeded to deliver her part of the presentation, Katy another of the girls in the group sidled up to

contention with her mother and aunts as the fact that they constantly try to control Maggie s
hair, just as they try to control Maggie s spirit. Maggie s decision to cut her hair shows her
attempt to try to control her life and do what she wants, not what others want her to do.
Furthermore, when we see second Maggie, her hair is more control. It is now in a tight braid,
pressed firmly against her skull. Maggie s attempt at trying to control her hair is representative
of her attempt to try to control the wild spirit from her childhood. She is trying to become a
more selfless, religious person, refusing to give into the world. However, there are wisps of hair
that cannot be tamed by the braid. This shows the part of Maggie s spirit that is unable to be
controlled, which we see in Maggie s interaction with the forbidden Philip Wakem. As much as
she tries to control herself, Maggie cannot control everything. Moreover, we see this change
happen again when we are introduce to third Maggie. Third Maggie is a dignified, regal young
women and her hair reflects that. Her hair is up in an elaborate updo based at the nape of her
neck. She has made the transitioned from girl to woman. This new hairdo shows how Maggie has
finally found herself, and is beginning to understand what she wants out of life: to be an
independent woman who is able to think and provide for herself. The changes in hairstyle reflect
Maggie s more permanent change in character as she grows up and finds herself through trials and

Through the years other stores have come into the picture using the same idea. Companies like
Safeway, Amazon, Whole Foods, Peapod, and others are the new entrants. The bargaining
power FreshDirect have over other companies is that they cater to a small area. (New York area
only) The threat of substitute services has cause FreshDirect to change their thinking in order to
keep up with demands. Companies like Whole Foods with their organic foods have cause
FreshDirect to offer more organic foods. Local grocery stores have options of in store pick up that
where people can order the non perishable food on line, the store will pack the non perishables and
the customers can come in the store and go directly to the fruit and vegetable section and meat
sections and pick out their food without having to explore the entire store. There is not too much
competition in the industry in the New York area, its FreshDirect and the other stores trying to
catch up.
STRATEGY USED
The strategies used to stay on top of the composition are what I like to call the ear to the wind

FreshDirect quickly started selling organic foods so that they don t lose their customers that wanted
that same type product. FreshDirect was successful in employing this method

10 Year Goal Plan Research Paper
I have currently set a ten year goal plan for myself. My first goal is to complete college in about
6 years, with a Master s/CPA degree. The next stage of my goals is to switch my career to a
position dealing with accounting, which will help me pursue a career position with
PricewaterhouseCoopers. In this paper I will discuss PWC as a company, how am I preparing

How am I preparing myself for my future? I am currently a freshman year student at Thomas

American Democracy Ideal Democracy
American democracy is not ideal democracy. Low voter turnout, excessive sums of money that is
poured into elections, and the increasingly unpopular Electoral College leaves American democracy
from being an ideal, well functioning democratic electoral system. American democracy, however,
has never been closer to an ideal democracythan it is now. The endless information voters have due
to the Internet allows voters to cast their ballots with more confidence and information than ever
before. More information available to voters means more accountability for elected officials. Voting
has become much easier and accessible than ever before. Absentee ballots and early voting allows
voters to cast their ballots without hassle and on their own time.

School Environment And The Classroom Environment
Do you remember ever as a kid dreading going to school? Somedays you just really didn t feel
like it, but you had to anyway. Now, was it you didn t enjoy school whatsoever, or was it really
the environment they put you in at school? Well, kids today are facing those exact same problems
each day. It s time to get to the bottom of it. The school environment children spend most of their
day is a place many kids across the nation do not enjoy. There are many flaws in today s school
environment that some may not realize. However, many schools tend to blame the kids by telling
them they simply do not wantto work and they are acting lazy. Even if there is a small percentage
of students where that really is the case, but for the other ninety percent, that is completely false,
and it is crucial we emphasize that. School environment issues include children being allowed to
have their cell phones in the classroom which is decreases their work time, the excessive amount of
homeworkkids are being faced with which is causing some kids to cheat and giving them anxiety
and stress issues, and the debate about extending the school which would push back students
schedules causing the to get less sleep, but still having to wake up just as early as before the in the
morning. To begin, some students and teachers are wishing to bring cell phones into the classroom
more often. They are becoming rather eager to have cell phones be the next step in transforming
our classrooms into techonology

Vast Mountain Mountains
Warren Wilson. How did I end up here? I could, be anywhere else. However, Appalachia
undoubtedly has to be the perfect place to foster my curiosity of the mountains. Throughout my life
I have been interested in protecting the environment, many different avenues of art expression, and
the cultural roots of mountain people. Now, all of those subjects are covered in The Encyclopedia
of Appalachia, but I can go further to tie all of those subjects into the main topic of agriculture,
specifically sustainable agriculture, which I just so happen to be majoring in (convenient, huh?).

Vast mountain ranges and rocky cliffs come to mind. Those are both some obvious factors as to
why agricultural practices may be hard in the region, but other than physical boundaries, what
are the difficulties of growing in this mountainous region? I will surely need to know these if I
plan to make a living off of growing in the mountains. My fascination for how native tribes work
with the land raised the question of what crops were originally grown/are native, in Appalachia
prior to the European invasion bringing about other crops. Were these new crops brought in
essential for a growing population or were they destructive to the soil, being invasive plants?
Tying into the idea of native crops, I would love to look more into the herbs found within the
forests of Appalachia. Wanting to be a doula and homesteader, I have found interest in researching
the benefits of medicinal herbs on the pains of childbirth. Finding those herbs right here in
Appalachia would be ideal. The encyclopedia had a section entirely on mushrooms. I did not dive
into what it said because at this point I am just seeking questions. I am wondering, however, why
do mushrooms grow well here? Is it simply because of the thick canopy of the forest providing
ample shade or do these mountains contain particular nutrients necessary for mushroom growth?
My father has always shown an interest in growing shiitake mushrooms. I have never spoken to
him about what sparked his interest, but living in the Cherokee National Forest, which is

Catullus 32 Analysis
For this assignment, I did the translation of Catullus 32. Within this poem, the author uses a
sexual tone. Originally, in the poem, it s a guy talking to a woman who people think is a
prostitute, but throughout the poem, it s a love poem to Ipsitilla. Within the original poem, the
reader can see how the author created their own word fuckification , how the tone starts to
change into more of lust, not loving about Ipsitillia, and also it s demanding in the way he wants
her to come see him. With this poem, people throughout the years have translated it, and
somewhat changed it up a little bit, but it s amazing to see how another person how they look at
the poem and interpret it. For example, in Translation 14, written in 1914 by C. Sesar, he states
and let me take a nap with you, (line 3); out of all the translations, Sesar is the only one to add that

of view of a woman talking to a guy, and I made it as they were in love and not just a fling. I guess
by changing the male and female role you can stay the poem is not the same anymore, but
instead, I said it was a woman talking to this guy about how much she wants him and cares for
him. That was the same thing the original poem was trying a convey, but it just showed it from a
male s point of view. Also, I took some of the more sexual words out, and instead of trying to
show a loving relationship between the two saying it s something deeper than what comes to the
surface. In my opinion, in the original poem and some of the translations it came off as lust for
the woman, but I wanted to take that in a way to show a loving relationship and how these two
people can t wait to meet up and see one another. From my rough draft to the revised translation I
really didn t take anything out I just added some lines so it could flow

St. Augustine s Confessions In The History Of Christianity
Augustine of Hippo, also know as Saint Augustine, is one of the best known theologians in the
history of Christianity. He was born in Thagaste, modern day Algeria in North Africa. From the
very beginning, he struggled with finding himself and experimented with many religions. His
father was a pagan who believed in worldly values and in worldly achievements. His mother on the
other had was a very devout Christian woman who believed that Godcould and would help everyone
get to Heaven. His parents, though poor, wanted the best for their son and went to all lenghts
necessary to secure his eduacation. Augustine s conversion can be seen as one of the most famous
and dramatic through out history. Throughout Confessions Saint Augustine reflects upon his
spiritual journey toward adulthood and the challenged through which he must confess his sins to

Amusement Park Negligence
Amusement park owners are also required to have policies and practices in place that a reasonable
amusement park would have in order to ensure the safety of guests. Failure to have these policies in
place or to take care in hiring amusement park employees can result in a general negligence lawsuit
against the amusement park. In addition, when amusement park employees are negligent in
operating the rides or ensuring guest safety, their negligenceis considered to be the negligence of the
amusement park itself because of legal rules referred to as vicarious liability or agency laws. Since
the park becomes responsible for the negligence of its employees, people who are injured as a result
of improper ride operation or other related causes may... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All four of these elements have to be shown in order to recover on a negligence claim.
To put it simply, when an amusement park owner or operator fails to maintain the park or its
rides in a safe way, it can be considered in breach of a legal duty owed to customers under
premises liability law. This negligence can make the amusement park owner responsible for any
injuries that result, and the owner may be liable for medical costs, lost salaries, damages for pain
and suffering and emotional distress, and wrongful death damages based on lack of appropriate
warning
To sum it up, the negligence legal theory rests on the notion that an amusement park is
responsible for providing customers with a safe environment. The amusement park is responsible
for the actions of its employees. So if an employee is negligent, injured parties may sue the park
for that employee s actions. The park or its employees may be negligent by affirmatively doing
something or by failing to do something. Examples include: failing to post clear warning signs that,
for example, customers with blood pressure or heart problems should not go on a ride
posting signs that don t adequately warn riders of the risks

Guardian Angel Movie Analysis
Gabriel Gabby Messinger, a Guardian Angel who has trouble following the rules and is known for

Falls find its Christmas spirit again.
First of all, I want to say that this film surpassed all my expectations. Sometimes, I am hesitant
when it comes to angel films, but because of who the three stars are (and especially because of
the male lead), I was determined to give this film a chance. Furthermore, it is airing on
Hallmark, and how could I not watch it? If you are looking for a film that follows the Scriptural
teachings of angels, this might not be for you. I could speak to all the reasons why the theology
of the movie is unsound, but that is not why I watched this film. The film is so uncommonly
well written and acted with such depth that I could care less about whether the story could ever
happen or not. The values of the film are intact, and if nothing else, I applaud Hallmark for
emphasizing the concept of free will (something most Christians and church people esteem) and
including the Lord s Prayer (how often do we see that on network TV?). I did not plan on
becoming emotional during this movie, but I literally spent the last twenty minutes or so crying
off and on because the story was remarkably poignant (and I wasn t certain how it would end) and
the three main actors Rachel Boston, Paul Greene, and Beau Bridges are such phenomenal artists!

Caesarea Maritima Essay
The site of Caesarea Maritima contains many unique challenges for archaeological excavations. In
spite of this, through pottery analysis, archaeologists are able to learn about different aspects of the
site. Nonetheless, Caesarea Maritima has a variety of specific challenges associated with it for
archaeologists. Not only does it cover a significant section of the coastal region, but the immense
harbour, over time, has been completely submerged in the sea. Along with geographical challenges,
there are also historical ones. The site of Caesarea Maritima was inhabited from Hellenistic time
until the Crusaders, a period spanning over 900 years. As it was continuously inhabited, the

At the site of Tell el Hesi, Petrie noticed specific styles of pottery at different stages of the dig
(Petrie 1890). By a comparison of the different pottery forms with similar pieces dated from
previous sites, Petrie was able to date the surrounding material through the pottery. Significantly, by
studying the pottery forms, Petrie created an association between specific dates and forms of
pottery (Petrie 1891) thus created a chronology which revolutionised the archaeology of the Levant.
To give an illustration of the impact which Petrie s discovery has had upon archaeology in the
Levant, his chronology has been used on archaeological sites in the region throughout the past
century (Cole 1984; Tushingham 1986). In Caesarea Maritima Petrie s discovery of dating a site
through the pottery has assisted with dating both the city and the harbour of Sebastos. In the
harbour, the discovery of pottery was interpreted as evidence that the city was importing goods
via sea trade, during the 3rd century AD (Hohlfelder 1988). While excavating Caesarea Maritima
the Department of Antiquities in Israel discovered that an area they were excavating was
abandoned during the Arab conquest (Yeivin 1955, p. 123). Yet, because there was evidence of
pottery from the eighth and ninth centuries in addition to some lamps, it was evidence that after
the site had been abandoned it was resettled. Because of the discovery of Mameluke pottery, it
became apparent that the site was superceded during the Crusader period (Yeivin 1955, p. 123).
Petrie s discovery of the association between pottery and dating, therefore, has assisted in the
archaeology of Caesarea

Maycomb County had recently been told that it had nothing to fear but fear itself . This
statement made by Scout at the beginning of Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird shows that
Maycomb is a town in which the fear of change is rife. Lee s choice of Maycomb as a setting,
developed through narrative point of view and characterisation was vital to the text as it helped to
develop the theme of prejudiceand the consequences which result from the fixed attitudes of an

Beautiful things floated round in his dreamy head.
The choice of a small insular town in which to set a novel about racial prejudice helped Lee to
develop the idea that Persecution comes from people who are prejudiced. At first, the prejudices
displayed by the citizens of Maycomb seem benign and irrelevant. However, in this small
community these prejudices soon culminate into something much more serious: racial prejudice.
This prejudice is displayed in the trail of Tom Robinson in which the defence lawyer refers to Tom
as boy , while politely questioning white witnesses. This causes Dill to start crying at the unfairness
and injustice that is created by racism saying, it was just him I couldn t stand .
Maycomb also serves in showing how the persecution of innocent mockingbirds can result from
racial prejudice. Maycomb s highly defined social class system, in which blacks are considered
to be lesser equals, is the reason for the persecution of Tom Robinson. Robinson s persecution
came not only because he was black, but because he broke one of Maycomb s social mores by
feeling sorry for and helping Mayella Ewell You felt sorry for her? You felt sorry . The notion
that a black could be in a position to feel sympathy for a white was abhorrent for Maycomb s
citizens and this is why they allowed and indeed endorsed the persecution of an innocent man. Tom

Colorado Water Shortage Essay
Colorado s Water Shortage; a Localized Problem with a National Salience
The Issue at Hand
The State of Colorado has suffered from a water shortage in recent years; a difficult situation
which is easily visible when viewing the quickly shortening length of the Colorado River. Lake
Mead, for example, is roughly 130 feet lower than it once was, marked by the stained rock which
towers above the current water level. The river has become a perfect symbol of what happens
when we ask too much of a limited resource: it disappears. In fact, the Colorado no longer regularly
reaches the sea (Zielinski, 2010). Legislation was implemented early on to address this issue,
though the results were (perhaps not surprisingly) rather unanticipated, regarding ... Show more

The upper basin states (including Colorado) were allocated a much greater percentage of the water
than the lower basin states, while the upper basin states were developing at a much slower rate than
those in the lower basin, notably California. Nevada (as of 1997) anticipated being unable to rely
just on this water by 2015, while in 1997 California was already exceeding its originally allocated
supply by diverting unused water from the upper basin states (Arizona.edu, 1997). It goes without
saying that this legislation from the early twentieth century is not going to be sufficient in coming
years as the development of these regions has progressed at a much faster rate than originally
anticipated, and it is the responsibility of state and federal governments, water management
companies, as well as appeals from farmers and non farming residents alike to come to an
agreement on how to apportion water and how to implement secondary hydration plans due to the
rapidly declining resource that the once magnificent Colorado River was able to supply us

Hardest Working Athletes
The Hardest Working Athletes and the Least Cared About Sport
Does the name Michael Phelps ring a bell? Here s a hint: he s the most decorated Olympian of
all time with a total of 22 medals, 18 of them being gold. Why is it that, even at the height of his
career, Phelps was talked about much less than pro athletes such as LeBron James, Tom Brady, or
Derek Jeter? Saying these other athletes are not also great would be unfair, but it must be
acknowledged that Phelps is underappreciated even though he is the most decorated Olympian of
all time (and there s really no other title higher than that). Phelps is underappreciated because
swimming is underappreciated.
Intensive training is the first thing to worry about on the path to become a higher level swimmer.
Starting at around seventh or eighth grade, swimmers begin a higher level of training two to
three hours a day, six days a week, fifty weeks a year. There are no days off and no excuses. Emily
Anderson, a senior at Shoreham Wading River High School, trains an average of 280 laps a day,
nine times a week (before school as well as after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays). Ranking 6th
in the state in the 100 yard breaststroke, 26th in the state overall and 98th nationally, her training

Haemolysis Test Lab Report
To find the first unknown bacteria, the microbiology student started by inoculating a sample on a
slide to stain with Gram s stain; resulting a gram positive cocci. He continued by looking at the
dichotomous key in the Lab Manual, afterwards doing a catalase test on an inoculated slide to
differentiate it from being either a Streptococcus or a Staphylococcus (2). He then put the hydrogen
peroxide on the inoculated slide, it immediately reacts, resulting on an excessive bubbling reaction,
concluding that the Gram positive species is catalase positive. He now had to inoculate a sample of
the bacteriato a 10% salt agar media to determine whether it is a Staphylococcus or a Micrococcus.
After inoculating and incubating at 37В°C for two days, it resulted with substantial growth. This
indicates that the unknown Gram positive bacteria s genus is a Staphylococcus. Following up, the
microbiologystudent needed to determine whether it of the species aureus, saprophyticus, or
epidermidis based on the selected characteristics table for staphylococcus (2). He conducted a
hemolysis test on a thawed plasma plate; resulting in a ОІ hemolysis, a complete lysis of red blood
cells. This test... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Peru Is One Of The Most Important Incan Empires
Have you ever been to Peru? I have not been to Peru myself. I spent a lot of time researching this
country. Peru is a very interesting country. Here are some facts about Peru. Peru borders Ecuador
and Colombia to the north. So by having these borders it means easy trades for crops and
clothing. It also borders the Pacific Ocean to the west. So if the ocean borders Peru they have lots
of fresh fishto eat and use because fish is one of the most important part of the economy. Peru
borders Chile to the south. So even more trades than the other countries.
The Andes Mountains run through Peru. lots of people have tried to climb the Andes Mountains

Fighting Charges of Assimilation in Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun and The Cosby Show
The critical reception of The Cosby Show, an enormously popular television sitcom in the 1980 s,
roughly paralleled that of A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry s highly acclaimed play of the
1950 s. Both the television series and the play helped change the way Blacks are portrayed in the
entertainment media. But despite being initially greeted with critical praise, both subsequently fell
under heavy scrutiny by many critics for being too assimilationist. However, in both cases, the
charges of assimilation may perhaps be too harsh. A Raisinin the Sun, a drama of a middle class
family in Chicago, should not be regarded as a wholehearted ... Show more content on

He longs for the socioeconomic advantages of the affluent people and assimilates to their ideas. As
Darwin Turner explains, Walter typifies the upward moving American male. He honors ruthless
capitalism (4). However, all of this is not to say that Hansberry s play condones or endorses this
kind of attitude or ideal. Nor is it accurate to assume that the play is against such assimilationist
goals. Instead, A Raisin in the Sun remains decidedly and deliberately ambiguous in any sort of
moral judgment.
The 1950 s was a decade in which black literature emphasized the issue of integration. Black
writers also consciously stressed the similarities between Blacks and Whites. Hansberry believed
that blacks and Whites had similar character traits and values, as A Raisin in the Sun
demonstrates. However, Hansberry assumed a consciously ambivalent stance in regard to social
integration (Turner, 4). The Youngers did not want to move into a white community merely out
of a desire to live with whites. They moved out of a desire for freedom and opportunity rather
than for social integration. But this motivation should not be construed as a desire to assimilate.
Instead, it is a desire to achieve an ideal shared by all Americans. In this regard, A Raisin in the
Sun is not a mere proponent of black assimilation the play deals realistically

Specific Heat Of Calorimeter Lab Report
John Yu
Meyer
AP Chem
9 October, 2016
In this experiment, hot water was mixed with room temperature water in a calorimeter to calculate
the specific heat capacity of the calorimeter. The specific heat of the calorimeter was then used to
find the enthalpy of sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid, ammonia and hydrochloric acid, and
ammonium chloride and sodium hydroxide by mixing each, respectively, into the beaker after each
other. The beaker was washed with distilled water after each reaction. The enthalpyof sodium
hydroxide and hydrochloric acid and ammonia and hydrochloric acid were subtracted together to
calculate the enthalpy of ammonium chloride and sodium hydroxide to prove Hess Law.
The lab errors that occurred in this lab would be the heat escaping while the reactants were being
added to the calorimeter because there is an opening and way for the heat to escape in that moment.
This caused the reaction to lose heat and energy to the lab and cause the reaction to report less
energy than there should be. Also, some of the heat was lost from the calorimeter because no
perfect calorimeter can exist. This caused the reaction to lose energy as well. The reactants have not

This lab observed the Law of Energy Conservation that all the energy in the reactions was from the
reactants breaking and forming new bonds. The Law of Energy Conservation was also observed
when the energy lost as heat from the beaker was found in the calorimeter. In the calculations, Hess
Law was tested and proved with adding the enthalpies of reaction two and three equalling the
enthalpy of reaction one. This lab also observed endothermic reactions through neutralization and
the forming of salts. Thermal equilibrium was observed temperature stabilizing in the calorimeter
with the mixing of hot and cold water. Since the reactions were giving off heat, the enthalpy of the
reactions were negative and the reactions are product

Death Is The Worst Thing
There is one thing in this world that no one can escape, that everyone fears, and makes people
who are close to that person miserable, and that is death. Death is the worst thing that can ever
happen to a person, and is just as bad for the people who are close to them. There is an emptiness
that comes with the death of a loved one or someone close. That blankness in the world does
something to the peoplewho encompass that person who passed. It changes people, whether it is
for better or worse. Death is a part of life and depending on how people are affected can dictate
whether it will leave a positive or negative changeto their life and that conversion happened to me
with the death of my mother, Fran. I can recall the day it happened, like it was yesterday, the air
had a certain emptiness to it. It felt cold, barren, but it just felt like any normal rough day, where
everything would not go your way. I arrived home from hockey practice like I do every Thursday
with my father and was ready to lay down before I did my homework. Then we got the call and
we bolted to the emergency room at Mercy Hospital. The nurse took us into a waiting room and
we heard the heartbreaking news from the physician and the room went still. It was not a typical
quiet but so quiet that you could almost hear your heart pounding out of your chest. When we saw
my Mother, and we shockingly gazed what the car crash did to her it was a completely eye
opening. This could not be your Mother; that is all

Socrates and Virtue
At the beginning of Meno Socrates and Meno are discussing what they think the true definition of
virtue is. They debate over this matter for quite some time and Meno continues to throw definitions,
of what he thinks virtue is, at Socrates. It seems like every time Meno would come up with what he
thought virtuewas Socrateswould shoot it down. Socrates would not come out and say this is not
right, he would merely ask him a series of questions in order for Meno to realize it on his own. One
after another Socrates continues to find problems with Meno s reasoning behind his definitions.
After the fourth attempt they finally decide they would try to start over with a clean slate in order
to find out what virtue truly is. At this point... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Socrates says that all activities done by humans depends on the soul itself, and if you are going to
do some beneficial then it involves wisdom to a certain extent. So if in order to do something
beneficial you need wisdom and they defined virtue as being something beneficial, therefore
making the valid point that virtue is wisdom, for the most part ( Sections 87e В– 89b).
Virtue is what you make of it. Yes, to some extent, I agree with Socrates with virtue as wisdom,
but that is about as far as you can go with it. Really it is what you are willing to make of it in
your own life. There are good types of virtues and then there are harmful types of virtue. Now
you cannot really say that there are beneficial types of virtue and bad types of virtue. The reason
behind this is because, to some people, virtue can be beneficial in a bad way instead of the
beneficial that most people first think of. It varies from person to person. There is really no way
of putting one basic definition on virtue. Virtue encompasses so many different things, it would be
nearly impossible for us to slap a definition on it without finding a glitch or something wrong with
the definition. There will always be someone there to find a problem with it, because is that not the
way our society works? Somebody comes up with one thing, then after a while someone comes up
something wrong with that idea and proposes a new,

Mexican Economy Research Paper
Title: Oil prices and its effects on Mexican economy
Students name: Elcherik Daal
Name of the college: Palm Beach State College
Course: Macro Economics
Name of the instructor: Warren Smith
Date: April 5st, 2015
Abstract
This research paper will describe the demography, labor force and the business cycle of Mexico.
Mexico is a federal republic, and it consists of 31 states and the Federal District. The Constitution
established separation of powers. The country itself has a perimeter of 761,602 square miles.
Mexico underwent an increase in purchasing power living standards, as well as reforms in energy
and telecommunications passed by recently elected President Enrique PeГ±a Nieto. Besides the
reforms, the manufacturing sector ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The energy reforms will restore an industry that has had a deficiency in technology for quite
some times now. US oil companies will lend their resources that the Pemex currently doesn t
have. This is a good opportunity to help boost Mexican oil production, which has been falling
for years. We need resources, technology and knowledge. Therefore, it is important to work with
those who do have (PeГ±a Nieto). Mexico has been a top crude oil supplier to the US. However,
its petroleum production has declined in the last decade. The reform opened Mexico s oil and
natural gas sector to international companies that could potentially help Mexico reverse the
shortage/lag in the production. Besides US, Mexico has other trading partners like China, Japan,
South Korea and Germany (Clare Ribando Seelke). Ultimately, these reforms could create
investment opportunities for US companies, and it can expand the US and Mexican energy

The Importance Of Choosing An Internship
A part of being a student, who is preparing for a professional career, often includes seeking an
opportunity within an organization or business that would serve as a job training experience before
actually stepping into the competitive workforce. As much research has shown, it is an investment
toward your future that will lead you to be steps ahead of the rest. Although these programs, known
as internships, can be competitive, just like the workforce, there is a method in achieving success.
Once achieved, internshipprograms have shown to provide realistic expectations and better
organization involvement when seeking employment. Choosing this path to serve as the foundation
of your experiential development increases your chances of achieving the position in your dream
job. Choosing the right internship however, will be what successfully begin your career pipeline.
Research and studies performed by many institutions have provided factual support that finding an
dynamic internship and securing a spot in the program is attainable. Assessing whether or not your
career path requires the experience in a focused career specific orientation is a great start. Often
students wonder if there is a right time to start an internship and if there is, when would it be.
Students also tend to perceive this opportunity, in an internship, as a chance to develop their useful
capabilities as they apply the acquired knowledge from their education and learn in a working
environment. Gaining

Economy During The Enlightenment
The Enlightenment brought about ideas that united a revolution with human reason, progress, and
perfectibility. The economy during the Enlightenment improved due to bigger and better ships,
more canals, and roads for better forms of transports of good and services. Their was a fall in price
when it came to transportation, with this decline transportation prices allowed most individuals to
purchase coaches which paved the way for tourism. This brought about realistic thinking of the
opportunity of traveling which also created the idea that attitudes varied with individuals and
environments. Other signs of progress were in agriculture. The abundance in good allowed more
people to survive thus allowing population to grow. Healthy agriculture meant... Show more content

Philosophers during that time reveled in the concept of living the natural life happily. French
social reformer Jean Jacque Rousseau speculated on how and why human differences occurred
over time. He believed that though men were born free they were always seen in chains. He was
an advocate of happiness, and believed that to achieve this Utopian idea of self happiness one must
become advantageous. His belief was that individuals and society could become genuine and live
genuinely which explains why he is referred to as the hippie genius . He wanted society to return to
nature and with this he created a radical change in which society didn t refer to nature as a nuisance
but as a view to be appreciated for its beauty. His philosophy was dreamy and private which
influenced the Romantics. Romantics during the Enlightenment were the polar opposites of the
reasonable, skeptical, yet pragmatic philosophers of the time. They focused on the sentiments of
human nature. The idea behind self discovery . That the mysterious forces such as freedom, dreams

  • 2. Why Is It Important To Build Roman Buildings Roman buildings were based on the Greeks architectural orders, the Doric, Ionic and Corinthian. In additional to those they added one of their own, the Composite, which practically was a combination of the Ionic and the Corinthian order. Although Romans didn t invent the wheel; they invented something almost equally important, the concrete. The new material spread so fast and took the leading position in the way buildings were constructed. The innovation of concrete really transformed the appearance of their buildings. Its basic component the pozzolana, a volcanic element was in abundance around Rome and not only made concrete stronger than marble it could be easily decorated.(The Romans,n.d,par.2) Along with concrete they used bricks to make buildings more solid and stones in various shapes to give an aesthetic view to the buildings. ROMAN ARCHITECTURE 3 Almost every Roman building included arches, but those can be seen in other places as well, at the Colosseum, in aqueducts, at temples etc. They constructed circular temples as the Pantheon, or the famous baths of Caraccala. Triumph arches that had only a single or a double entrance had no other function than to celebrate significant events like a military victory. (Cartwright, 2013) Since its introduction, the arch applied to almost all future empires and all civilizations. The Roman architecture influenced many nations and many monuments were designed in the same way as the ones of the Roman period. Concrete and arch changed the way of construction and had an impact on architecture in all over the world. That was the Roman legacy and it is no surprise that Roman buildings are still standing in our time and treated with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Plastic Waste Of Plastics Plastic waste Americans are generating more plastic trash than ever, and very little of it gets recycled. Plastics and their byproducts are littering our cities, oceans, and waterways, and contributing to health problems in humans and animals.Plastic pollution is one of the greatest threats to ocean health worldwide. In spite of society s many efforts to properly dispose of plastic waste, between 4 and 12 million metric tons of plastic waste enter the ocean each year enough to cover every foot of coastline on the planet. And that amount is expected to more than double in the next 10 years Stop using plastic straws, even in restaurants. If a straw is a must, purchase a reusable stainless steel or glass straw. How can you stop plastic waste One of the easiest ways to keep plastic out of the landfill is to refuse plastic straws. Simply inform your waiter or waitress that you don t need one, and make sure to specify this when ordering at a drive thru. Can t fathom giving up the convenience of straws? • 4. Analysis Of Getting Ryan By Chris Landreth The long history of the combination of animation and documentary is one that stretches back to the earliest days of moving image. One conjures up thoughts of comedy, children s entertainment and fantasies, while the other carries with it the assumption of seriousness, education and evidence, which can nonetheless seem oxymoronic. However these new and relatively explored sub genres actually depict a new field in the documentarygenre known as animated documentary. Filmmaker John Grierson defines documentary as the creative treatment of actuality, (Ehrlich 248) Meaning that documentaries do not have to be presented as only live action filmbut rather a variety of creative expressions to reproduce actuality. It allows for the conventional subject matter of documentary to be presented in a non conventional way. Animation has the potential to the viewers insight into the mental states of other people. This is the kind of technique is what Chris Landreth did when creating the animated documentary Ryan. While the circumstances in which she has this revelation are a bit extreme, it shows that in her society, there is an implicit message that being white is equal to being beautiful and that if you re a young white girl, you re beautiful but, if you re a young black girl, you re a monster. To do this, Hamlet requests a player to perform a play that Hamlet had edited to mimic King Hamlet s murder. If Claudius do blench, I know my course (Shakespeare, II.ii.626 627), the course being murdering Claudius. By having a reaction to the play, Claudius is inadvertently admitting to Hamlet that he is guilty of murder. Some think that this is not enough evidence to commit treason, however, later in the play the readers learn that Claudius admits to murder in the secrecy of the church; my offense is rank, it smells to the heavens; It hath the primal eldest curse upon t, A brother s murder (Shakespeare, III.iii.40 42). Maggie s decision to cut her hair shows her attempt to try to control her life and do what she wants, not what others want her to do. Furthermore, when we see second Maggie, her hair is more control. It is now in a tight braid, pressed firmly against her skull. Maggie s attempt at trying to control her hair is representative of her attempt to try to control the wild spirit from her childhood. Now, was it you didn t enjoy school whatsoever, or was it really the environment they put you in at school? Well, kids today are facing those exact same problems each day. It s time to get to the bottom of it. The school environment children spend most of their day is a place many kids across the nation do not enjoy. There are many flaws in today s school environment that some may not realize. However, many schools tend to blame the kids by telling them they simply do not wantto work and they are acting lazy. Even if there is a small percentage of students where that really is the case, but for the other ninety percent, that is completely false, and it is crucial we emphasize that. School environment issues include children being allowed to have their cell phones in the classroom which is decreases their work time, the excessive amount of homeworkkids are being faced with which is causing some kids to cheat and giving them anxiety and stress issues, and the debate about extending the school which would push back students schedules causing the to get less sleep, but still having to wake up just as early as before the in the morning. • 24. Vast Mountain Mountains Warren Wilson. How did I end up here? I could, be anywhere else. However, Appalachia undoubtedly has to be the perfect place to foster my curiosity of the mountains. Throughout my life I have been interested in protecting the environment, many different avenues of art expression, and the cultural roots of mountain people. Now, all of those subjects are covered in The Encyclopedia of Appalachia, but I can go further to tie all of those subjects into the main topic of agriculture, specifically sustainable agriculture, which I just so happen to be majoring in (convenient, huh?). Those are both some obvious factors as to why agricultural practices may be hard in the region, but other than physical boundaries, what are the difficulties of growing in this mountainous region? I will surely need to know these if I plan to make a living off of growing in the mountains. My fascination for how native tribes work with the land raised the question of what crops were originally grown/are native, in Appalachia prior to the European invasion bringing about other crops. Were these new crops brought in essential for a growing population or were they destructive to the soil, being invasive plants? Tying into the idea of native crops, I would love to look more into the herbs found within the forests of Appalachia. Wanting to be a doula and homesteader, I have found interest in researching the benefits of medicinal herbs on the pains of childbirth. Finding those herbs right here in Appalachia would be ideal. The encyclopedia had a section entirely on mushrooms. I did not dive into what it said because at this point I am just seeking questions. I am wondering, however, why do mushrooms grow well here? Is it simply because of the thick canopy of the forest providing ample shade or do these mountains contain particular nutrients necessary for mushroom growth? My father has always shown an interest in growing shiitake mushrooms. I have never spoken to him about what sparked his interest, but living in the Cherokee National Forest, which is neighboring the Appalachian Mountains, I could find this information ... Originally, in the poem, it s a guy talking to a woman who people think is a prostitute, but throughout the poem, it s a love poem to Ipsitilla. Within the original poem, the reader can see how the author created their own word fuckification , how the tone starts to change into more of lust, not loving about Ipsitillia, and also it s demanding in the way he wants her to come see him. With this poem, people throughout the years have translated it, and somewhat changed it up a little bit, but it s amazing to see how another person how they look at the poem and interpret it. That was the same thing the original poem was trying a convey, but it just showed it from a male s point of view. Also, I took some of the more sexual words out, and instead of trying to show a loving relationship between the two saying it s something deeper than what comes to the surface. In my opinion, in the original poem and some of the translations it came off as lust for the woman, but I wanted to take that in a way to show a loving relationship and how these two people can t wait to meet up and see one another. Failure to have these policies in place or to take care in hiring amusement park employees can result in a general negligence lawsuit against the amusement park. In addition, when amusement park employees are negligent in operating the rides or ensuring guest safety, their negligenceis considered to be the negligence of the amusement park itself because of legal rules referred to as vicarious liability or agency laws. To put it simply, when an amusement park owner or operator fails to maintain the park or its rides in a safe way, it can be considered in breach of a legal duty owed to customers under premises liability law. This negligence can make the amusement park owner responsible for any injuries that result, and the owner may be liable for medical costs, lost salaries, damages for pain and suffering and emotional distress, and wrongful death damages based on lack of appropriate warning To sum it up, the negligence legal theory rests on the notion that an amusement park is responsible for providing customers with a safe environment. Sometimes, I am hesitant when it comes to angel films, but because of who the three stars are (and especially because of the male lead), I was determined to give this film a chance. Furthermore, it is airing on Hallmark, and how could I not watch it? If you are looking for a film that follows the Scriptural teachings of angels, this might not be for you. I could speak to all the reasons why the theology of the movie is unsound, but that is not why I watched this film. The film is so uncommonly well written and acted with such depth that I could care less about whether the story could ever happen or not. In spite of this, through pottery analysis, archaeologists are able to learn about different aspects of the site. Nonetheless, Caesarea Maritima has a variety of specific challenges associated with it for archaeologists. Not only does it cover a significant section of the coastal region, but the immense harbour, over time, has been completely submerged in the sea. Along with geographical challenges, there are also historical ones. The site of Caesarea Maritima was inhabited from Hellenistic time until the Crusaders, a period spanning over 900 years. As it was continuously inhabited, the archaeological layers contain the remnants of many different cultures.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the site of Tell el Hesi, Petrie noticed specific styles of pottery at different stages of the dig (Petrie 1890). By a comparison of the different pottery forms with similar pieces dated from previous sites, Petrie was able to date the surrounding material through the pottery. Significantly, by studying the pottery forms, Petrie created an association between specific dates and forms of pottery (Petrie 1891) thus created a chronology which revolutionised the archaeology of the Levant. To give an illustration of the impact which Petrie s discovery has had upon archaeology in the Levant, his chronology has been used on archaeological sites in the region throughout the past century (Cole 1984; Tushingham 1986). In Caesarea Maritima Petrie s discovery of dating a site through the pottery has assisted with dating both the city and the harbour of Sebastos. In the harbour, the discovery of pottery was interpreted as evidence that the city was importing goods via sea trade, during the 3rd century AD (Hohlfelder 1988). While excavating Caesarea Maritima the Department of Antiquities in Israel discovered that an area they were excavating was abandoned during the Arab conquest (Yeivin 1955, p. 123). Yet, because there was evidence of pottery from the eighth and ninth centuries in addition to some lamps, it was evidence that after the site had been abandoned it was resettled. Because of the discovery of Mameluke pottery, it became apparent that the site was superceded during the Crusader period (Yeivin 1955, p. 123). At first, the prejudices displayed by the citizens of Maycomb seem benign and irrelevant. However, in this small community these prejudices soon culminate into something much more serious: racial prejudice. This prejudice is displayed in the trail of Tom Robinson in which the defence lawyer refers to Tom as boy , while politely questioning white witnesses. This causes Dill to start crying at the unfairness and injustice that is created by racism saying, it was just him I couldn t stand . Maycomb also serves in showing how the persecution of innocent mockingbirds can result from racial prejudice. Maycomb s highly defined social class system, in which blacks are considered to be lesser equals, is the reason for the persecution of Tom Robinson. The river has become a perfect symbol of what happens when we ask too much of a limited resource: it disappears. In fact, the Colorado no longer regularly reaches the sea (Zielinski, 2010). Instead, A Raisin in the Sun remains decidedly and deliberately ambiguous in any sort of moral judgment. The 1950 s was a decade in which black literature emphasized the issue of integration. Black writers also consciously stressed the similarities between Blacks and Whites. Hansberry believed that blacks and Whites had similar character traits and values, as A Raisin in the Sun demonstrates. However, Hansberry assumed a consciously ambivalent stance in regard to social integration (Turner, 4). The Youngers did not want to move into a white community merely out of a desire to live with whites. They moved out of a desire for freedom and opportunity rather than for social integration. Specific Heat Of Calorimeter Lab Report John Yu Meyer AP Chem 9 October, 2016 In this experiment, hot water was mixed with room temperature water in a calorimeter to calculate the specific heat capacity of the calorimeter. The specific heat of the calorimeter was then used to find the enthalpy of sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid, ammonia and hydrochloric acid, and ammonium chloride and sodium hydroxide by mixing each, respectively, into the beaker after each other. The beaker was washed with distilled water after each reaction. The enthalpyof sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid and ammonia and hydrochloric acid were subtracted together to calculate the enthalpy of ammonium chloride and sodium hydroxide to prove Hess Law. The lab errors that occurred in this lab would be the heat escaping while the reactants were being added to the calorimeter because there is an opening and way for the heat to escape in that moment. This caused the reaction to lose heat and energy to the lab and cause the reaction to report less energy than there should be. Also, some of the heat was lost from the calorimeter because no perfect calorimeter can exist. This caused the reaction to lose energy as well. The reactants have not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This lab observed the Law of Energy Conservation that all the energy in the reactions was from the reactants breaking and forming new bonds. The Law of Energy Conservation was also observed when the energy lost as heat from the beaker was found in the calorimeter. In the calculations, Hess Law was tested and proved with adding the enthalpies of reaction two and three equalling the enthalpy of reaction one. This lab also observed endothermic reactions through neutralization and the forming of salts. Thermal equilibrium was observed temperature stabilizing in the calorimeter with the mixing of hot and cold water. Since the reactions were giving off heat, the enthalpy of the reactions were negative and the reactions are product ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Death Is The Worst Thing There is one thing in this world that no one can escape, that everyone fears, and makes people who are close to that person miserable, and that is death. Death is the worst thing that can ever happen to a person, and is just as bad for the people who are close to them. There is an emptiness that comes with the death of a loved one or someone close. That blankness in the world does something to the peoplewho encompass that person who passed. It changes people, whether it is for better or worse. Death is a part of life and depending on how people are affected can dictate whether it will leave a positive or negative changeto their life and that conversion happened to me with the death of my mother, Fran. I can recall the day it happened, like it was yesterday, the air had a certain emptiness to it. It felt cold, barren, but it just felt like any normal rough day, where everything would not go your way. I arrived home from hockey practice like I do every Thursday with my father and was ready to lay down before I did my homework. Then we got the call and we bolted to the emergency room at Mercy Hospital. The nurse took us into a waiting room and we heard the heartbreaking news from the physician and the room went still. It was not a typical quiet but so quiet that you could almost hear your heart pounding out of your chest. When we saw my Mother, and we shockingly gazed what the car crash did to her it was a completely eye opening. This could not be your Mother; that is all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Socrates and Virtue At the beginning of Meno Socrates and Meno are discussing what they think the true definition of virtue is. They debate over this matter for quite some time and Meno continues to throw definitions, of what he thinks virtue is, at Socrates. It seems like every time Meno would come up with what he thought virtuewas Socrateswould shoot it down. Socrates would not come out and say this is not right, he would merely ask him a series of questions in order for Meno to realize it on his own. One after another Socrates continues to find problems with Meno s reasoning behind his definitions. After the fourth attempt they finally decide they would try to start over with a clean slate in order to find out what virtue truly is. At this point... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Socrates says that all activities done by humans depends on the soul itself, and if you are going to do some beneficial then it involves wisdom to a certain extent. So if in order to do something beneficial you need wisdom and they defined virtue as being something beneficial, therefore making the valid point that virtue is wisdom, for the most part ( Sections 87e В– 89b). Virtue is what you make of it. Yes, to some extent, I agree with Socrates with virtue as wisdom, but that is about as far as you can go with it. Really it is what you are willing to make of it in your own life. There are good types of virtues and then there are harmful types of virtue. Now you cannot really say that there are beneficial types of virtue and bad types of virtue. The reason behind this is because, to some people, virtue can be beneficial in a bad way instead of the beneficial that most people first think of. It varies from person to person. There is really no way of putting one basic definition on virtue. Virtue encompasses so many different things, it would be nearly impossible for us to slap a definition on it without finding a glitch or something wrong with the definition. There will always be someone there to find a problem with it, because is that not the way our society works? Somebody comes up with one thing, then after a while someone comes up something wrong with that idea and proposes a new, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The energy reforms will restore an industry that has had a deficiency in technology for quite some times now. US oil companies will lend their resources that the Pemex currently doesn t have. This is a good opportunity to help boost Mexican oil production, which has been falling for years. We need resources, technology and knowledge. Therefore, it is important to work with those who do have (PeГ±a Nieto). Mexico has been a top crude oil supplier to the US. However, its petroleum production has declined in the last decade. The reform opened Mexico s oil and natural gas sector to international companies that could potentially help Mexico reverse the shortage/lag in the production. Besides US, Mexico has other trading partners like China, Japan, South Korea and Germany (Clare Ribando Seelke). Ultimately, these reforms could create investment opportunities for US companies, and it can expand the US and Mexican energy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The economy during the Enlightenment improved due to bigger and better ships, more canals, and roads for better forms of transports of good and services. Their was a fall in price when it came to transportation, with this decline transportation prices allowed most individuals to purchase coaches which paved the way for tourism. This brought about realistic thinking of the opportunity of traveling which also created the idea that attitudes varied with individuals and environments. Other signs of progress were in agriculture. Philosophers during that time reveled in the concept of living the natural life happily. French social reformer Jean Jacque Rousseau speculated on how and why human differences occurred over time. He believed that though men were born free they were always seen in chains. He was an advocate of happiness, and believed that to achieve this Utopian idea of self happiness one must become advantageous. His belief was that individuals and society could become genuine and live genuinely which explains why he is referred to as the hippie genius . He wanted society to return to nature and with this he created a radical change in which society didn t refer to nature as a nuisance but as a view to be appreciated for its beauty. His philosophy was dreamy and private which influenced the Romantics. Romantics during the Enlightenment were the polar opposites of the reasonable, skeptical, yet pragmatic philosophers of the time. They focused on the sentiments of human nature. The idea behind self discovery . That the mysterious forces such as freedom, dreams /nightmares, imagination, and feelings could inspire human ...
