Arctic foxes have fur that changes color with the seasons and compact bodies that minimize heat loss. They live in Arctic tundra regions and prey mostly on lemmings. Arctic foxes are endangered due to hunting for their fur and competition from red foxes. Conservation efforts include laws protecting Arctic foxes and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Arctic foxes typically mate for life and have litters of 5-9 pups that both parents help raise.
