Polar bears live in the Arctic for half the year and on the mainland the other half, hunting berries. They are classified as mammals in the order Carnivora and resemble brown and black bears but are true carnivores that eat seals and arctic fox. Their population is as low as 10,000 in some areas due to threats like global warming melting their sea ice habitat and reducing prey like seals.
