Common Programme Information

Programme Design – M.A. (Education) and M.A. (Development)
•   Duration: Organised into 4 semesters over 2 years
     •   Core Courses: Compulsory Foundation level courses
     •   Elective Courses: To expand knowledge and skills. Specializations may be gained
         by choosing a specified number of elective courses from within the area of
         specialization they are interested in.
     •   Open Courses: opportunities to explore themes related to the arts, culture, the sciences,
         and other subjects
     •   Practicum : Organised activities or experiences outside the classroom with an
         aim to deepen understanding of practice
     •   Independent Study/Project: Independently crafted field of study on a specific
         area of interest guided by a faculty member
     •   Fieldwork/Field Placement: Opportunity to explore the field, critically view
         current practice and understand ground realities

Admission Process
•   The University welcomes candidates with a passion to contribute towards education and
    development in India.

•   Selection Process: The selection process for both the University degree programmes
    will have a written test and a personal interview.

•   Written Test: Eligible candidates will be required to take an all-India Written Entrance
    Test on February 24, 2013 (Sunday). To enable easy access for students, test centres
    will be available across the country.

•    Personal Interview: Candidates shortlisted on the basis of written test performance
    will be called for a personal interview during the months of March/April.

•   Further details on the Admissions process will be made available on the University
    website and will be published in leading newspapers.

    The University is committed to diversity and encourages students from different socio-
              economic backgrounds, caste, class, religion and gender to apply.

Admission Process • The University welcomes candidates with a passion to contribute towards education and development in India. • Selection Process: The selection process for both the University degree programmes will have a written test and a personal interview. • Written Test: Eligible candidates will be required to take an all-India Written Entrance Test on February 24, 2013 (Sunday). To enable easy access for students, test centres will be available across the country. •  Personal Interview: Candidates shortlisted on the basis of written test performance will be called for a personal interview during the months of March/April. • Further details on the Admissions process will be made available on the University website and will be published in leading newspapers.
