Several documents discuss how Apple technology is being used in classrooms to improve education. Teachers are using iPads and iPods to enhance learning activities like reading out loud, doing math problems interactively, and monitoring students' test answers in real time. One teacher created a spreadsheet on his iPad to track student photos, grades, and attendance. While Apple saw a decline in the education market in the 2000s, the lower price of the iPad has helped Apple recapture about 25% of the education technology market share by 2015.

2. Menu Each classroom should be in the business of evolving. No other company has been pushing the envelope in technology quite like Apple does. Merging the two of those is going to be a key step in bringing classrooms forward. Apple in the Classroom: Students using iPods, iPads to improve reading, math. How the iPad Put Apple Back in the Classroom. [Apple in Education] Midland Teacher Uses Apple iPad to Keep Classroom Innovative and Organized.
3. Apple in the ClassroomVisit The teachers at Logan School system are using iPods on an overwhelming basis in class. Each classroom gets on average 6 iPods to use and share. The district is able to buy refurbished iPods using money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. They can even save money by purchasing Apps instead of calculators or books.
4. Apple in the Classroom Students are able to use the recording Apps to listen to the way they read, and make on the spot corrections. They are able to use these Apps to learn math by using an interactive tool. Administrators are finding a way to use these to better monitor classrooms.
5. Apple in the ClassroomMy Thoughts I enjoy looking at the way educators are using Apple technology to help improve classroom learning procedures. I thought it was great that they were able to improve reading in 15 short minutes just by recording themselves. I was also intrigued by the way Administrators were able to use iPads to create ways to track classroom progress. I also think it is important to be able to get real time answers to questions the teachers may not know.
6. How the iPad Put Apple Back in the ClassroomVisit Traditionally Apple has held a 50% share of the educational market in classrooms. Over the last few years, they had that figure dip by 20%. With a 500 dollar asking price on the iPad, Apple has made a large resurgence on the market. Recently the Apple market has captured just over a 25% share of the technology used in college dorms.
7. How the iPad put Apple Back in the Classroom North American universities report an 18% rise in Apple tech from 2009-2010. They also predict it will rise another 20% by the end of 2015. Apple reported being in 200 schools in in 2003 compared to 2500 for PC’s. By 2009 Apple closed the gap to 1400 to 1700. Click here to watch a video about the iPad.
8. How the iPad Put Apple Back in the ClassroomMy Thoughts The stark decline in the early 2000’s was somewhat different from what I had expected. I had thought they were doing well in the classroom as I had seen quite a few of their things in schools. Just how much better they are doing now is a testament to the strength of their product. The fact that schools and students want to spend more to get a better product is also a strong indicator of quality.
9. Midland Teacher Uses Apple iPad to Keep Classroom Innovative and OrganizedVisit A teacher in Midland Public Schools, Anthony Bauer, uses his iPad in his science class to innovate the way he is teaching his students. He has been able to create a spreadsheet that not only links his students pictures to an attendance record, but also gives him the ability to access all their grades. That is a specific feature he likes to use during parent teacher conferences to show student progress immediately.
10. Midland Teacher Uses Apple iPad to Keep Classroom Innovative and Organized Perhaps one of the most promising ways he is using the iPad is to monitor students test answers in real time. He can actually see what each student is answering on their laptop from his synced iPad. Bauer says he is eagerly awaiting the iPad 2’s ability to plug into a high definition screen or computer, so he can actually play videos he finds appropriate.
11. Midland Teacher Uses Apple iPad to Keep Classroom Innovative and OrganizedMy Thoughts Many classrooms are leaning toward integrated grade books and online monitoring of classes, so the ability to access this any time from your iPad would be great. I think it is great that the teacher bought his own iPad to use in his classroom. One of the things teachers should always do is to take the extra step to be successful.
