The 2017 Imperative for Global Airlines By CellPoint MobileVanessa Horwell
Today’s airlines and travel companies face a market in which innovation is driven externally. The ability to support a range of mobile transactions for their mobile-first passengers will soon emerge as a critical, defining brand characteristic.
In this new travel market, the push for mobile-first strategies and brand DNA must start in the executive suite and filter throughout the entire organization if airlines hope to keep pace with a fast-moving mobile market and its revenue potential. Emboldened by a mobile-centric strategy, airlines will be able to attract more passengers, create more opportunities and paths to purchase, cater to a younger, mobile-focused customer, re-energize their loyalty programs and position themselves for success in the mobile environment.
This report looks at the powerful imperative of mobile-first strategies for payments, loyalty, operations, interactions and airlines' ability to cater to customers who arrive with high expectations.
The document is a report from an airline ticketing survey conducted in 2018 that compares online travel agencies (OTAs) and airline apps. It finds that the majority of respondents booked flights online and used OTAs rather than airline apps and websites. While most respondents were aware of airline booking options, they had not used them frequently. The report concludes that airlines need to strengthen their digital offerings and promotions to increase direct bookings and customer loyalty.

This document discusses user experience (UX) considerations for connected vehicles. It notes that while technology promises future value in areas like infotainment, driver assistance, and vehicle health, many consumers do not adopt new technologies. Effective UX design requires understanding human factors and avoiding information overload. Interactions should feel more natural and contextual rather than relying on more screens. The future of mobility is expected to include a mixed economy with growth in alternative modes like ride- and car-sharing alongside private ownership, though changes may happen gradually rather than through revolutionary technologies.
Airlines are increasingly investing in technology to provide more personalized experiences for passengers. Major trends include using mobile apps and big data analytics to tailor services based on individual passenger needs and preferences. VisionMobile - Business models of mobile ecosystems - Digital WinnersSlashData
VisionMobile hosted a workshop on mobile ecosystems in November 2013. The document discusses the shift from mobile telephony to mobile computing and the fundamental changes this brought about. Ecosystems have become the gatekeepers for capturing value in mobile, challenging traditional telecom business models. Successful ecosystems like Apple, Google, Amazon and others redefine markets, boost demand for complements, and bundle value around their core products. Telecom companies face disruption from this asymmetric competition as value migrates to adjacent industries. Handsets are also transitioning from a hardware to a distribution role for digital services and e-commerce.
The document discusses the growth of O2O (online to offline) commerce in Brazil. It states that O2O fits Brazil's reality as the population is growing younger and demands more quality services. The prerequisites for O2O growth, such as smartphone and mobile broadband penetration, are being met. Popular O2O verticals in Brazil currently include food delivery, ride-hailing, ticketing and beauty services, and the market is growing rapidly, though it is still 2-3 years behind China's level of development. The outlook is that O2O will continue its fast growth in Brazil across many verticals.

The number of smartphones used is projected to increase 49.2% in 2011, with over 500 million smartphones by the end of 2011. Blackberry and iOS market shares are expected to decline as Windows and Android grow.
This document outlines 7 deadly sins of the internet in Brazil according to Yan Di, President of CEO of Baidu Brasil.
The sins are: 1) Ignoring offline opportunities and customers, as most of the world's economy is still offline. 2) Ignoring opportunities in China, which accounts for half of the internet and is a leader in innovation. 3) Failing to provide excellent customer service and thinking of extra ways to improve the user experience. 4) Creating fake demand rather than improving efficiency and customer income. 5) Not appropriately using pricing strategies to build brands and scale up. 6) Lacking cross-sectoral cooperation, as each sector in Brazil accounts for only 1% of that in China.

The document discusses the state of the post and parcel industry and highlights of high performing companies in the industry. It covers four key topics:
1) The post and parcel industry is being disrupted by digital trends like e-commerce, data analytics, and new entrants using innovative delivery models. High performers adapt by growing their parcel business, diversifying selectively, and transforming digitally.
2) E-commerce is driving strong parcel volume growth but also decreasing pricing power. Incumbents are investing heavily to transform and meet demand while new entrants use flexible models.
3) High performers drive superior value growth through acquisitions and organic growth, achieve high profit margins, and deliver better returns on investment than low

MSP Industry Brief - From Break / Fix to Recurring Revenue Madeline Titcomb
This industry brief highlights the industry and technology trends impacting MSPs now and in the future. It highlights ways for MSPs to take advantage of the cloud to create new revenue streams, address customer needs, and grow recurring
revenue for greater profitability and less volatility.
This document provides an illustrative sample business case analysis for selling cloud applications through a marketplace. It outlines three scenarios - low, mid, and high cases - based on levels of implementation of best practices for internal governance and go-to-market strategy. The mid case projects $16.8 million in additional gross revenue after 4 years with a 12 month payback period and 10% internal rate of return from cross-selling cloud services to an existing customer base of 1,500 SMBs. Key performance indicators like conversion and churn rates that can be improved over time drive higher revenue projections in the high case.
Supporting SMBs in their Journey to the Cloud with AppHelpMadeline Titcomb
This document discusses how small and medium businesses (SMBs) are increasingly adopting cloud technologies and solutions. It notes that while SMBs have begun using cloud solutions, most have not fully migrated their businesses to the cloud. The document then outlines some of the key benefits of cloud adoption that have motivated SMBs. It also discusses how service providers can play an important role in supporting SMBs throughout their journey to the cloud, including providing technical support, bundling services, and helping SMBs select the right cloud solutions.
AppDirect White Paper - Partnering for Cloud SuccessMadeline Titcomb
This white paper discusses the benefits of outsourcing cloud support to a third party provider versus building cloud support capabilities in-house. It outlines 5 key reasons why outsourcing is preferable, such as gaining access to an existing call center infrastructure and operational best practices, a cloud services enablement platform, certified technical staff, and a focus on customer service excellence to improve satisfaction and reduce churn. Outsourcing cloud support allows companies to quickly go to market while avoiding large investments of time and money required to develop these capabilities internally.
Big business in small business: Cloud services for SMBsMadeline Titcomb
Cloud services are gaining ground in all segments, but small and
medium-sized businesses present a unique opportunity. Understanding and addressing what sets them apart is the key to success.
AppDirect Cloud Service Commerce 101 White PaperMadeline Titcomb
This document discusses the opportunity for service providers to offer cloud services to customers. It notes that while 74% of SMBs want cloud services from their primary provider, only 45% currently receive them. Offering cloud services allows providers to generate new recurring revenue streams, deepen customer relationships, and move up the value chain. However, historically providers faced barriers to entry like high costs and risks of developing marketplaces in-house. The document recommends using a cloud commerce platform to reduce barriers and make it easier for providers to offer cloud services.
