Apology Essays
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Apology Essays" can present both intellectual challenges and
emotional intricacies. The difficulty lies not only in the technical aspects of constructing a well-
organized and coherent piece but also in navigating the delicate nuances associated with
apologies.
Firstly, the challenge arises in the need for a nuanced understanding of the concept of apology
itself. It requires delving into the psychology of remorse, the cultural variations in expressing
regret, and the philosophical underpinnings of seeking forgiveness. This intellectual groundwork
is essential to provide a comprehensive and insightful analysis in the essay.
Secondly, the emotional dimension adds complexity to the writing process. Apologies often
involve personal experiences, interpersonal dynamics, and the intricacies of human relationships.
Effectively conveying the emotional aspects while maintaining a scholarly tone demands a
delicate balancing act.
Moreover, crafting an essay on apology necessitates addressing the cultural, societal, and
contextual factors that influence how apologies are perceived and understood. This requires
extensive research and a deep dive into various disciplines, including psychology, sociology,
ethics, and communication studies.
Additionally, constructing a compelling argument requires a keen awareness of the potential
counterarguments and opposing perspectives related to apologies. This involves critically
evaluating different viewpoints and incorporating them into the essay to create a well-rounded
and persuasive piece.

Project For Perpetual Peace
War. War never changes. The tagline from the popular video game series, Fallout,
suggesting that although the weapons used and how wars are fought my change,
conflict in human nature never changes. Is war an inevitable part of global
politics? According to Immanuel Kant the answer is no. Kant would have us
believe that a perpetual peace is possible. In this essay I will discuss whether war
is an inevitable part of global politics, and whether or not perpetual peace is
possible, with reference to the work of Immanuel Kant. The body of my essay will
consist of four main sections. What is meant by war and peace, in the global political
perspective, Immanuel Kant s position on the questions, and other theories and

clarity I am discussing each theory individually first is JIT is a continuous process

in to five segments which are JIT Partnerships which exist when a supplier and a
purchaser work together with open communication and a target of removing waste
and lowering down the cost. The second is JIT layouts which is designed to reduce
the movements. JIT materials layout place material directly where they are needed.
The third is JIT inventory which works to overcome any hurdle if arises in the way.
The fourth is JIT scheduling where effective schedules are communicated both within
the organization and to outside suppliers. By being able to utilize these methods
Nissan would able to overhaul their process and work to create a JIT environment to
utilize all methods and start saving tremendous amount of overhead and expenditures.
Like other theories there are some advantages and disadvantages of JIT. Advantages
include efficient replenishment systems, more free space, less manpower required to
maintain the inventory levels. The disadvantages are Vulnerable to any demand

Changes From The Progressive Era
Some of the most important changes from the Progressive Era were the Savers
ability to expand the role of the state. Public health increased which decreased infant
mortality, playgrounds were made for children to play in, and better school systems
were established leading to better educations (Mintz, 2004, p.173). The reduction in
infant mortality was due to cleaner living quarters and other health safeguards such
as pasteurized milk that was safer to drink (Mintz, 2004, p.176). School systems
today still separate childreninto their respective age groups as to not expose children
to things before they are ready.
During the Progressive Era, Children s Court was also established. This was an
important development because it gave children ... Show more content on

Over the past few decades many scientific advancements have led to the reform of
childrearing practices and the modern concept of adolescence. Three men, Charles
Darwin, G. Stanley Hall and Dr. Holt [what is Dr. Holt s first name? put that], made
some of the most crucial scientific advancements in this area. Studies by these three
men led to child rearing advice and drastically changed the way children were viewed.
After having a son of his own, Charles Darwin began to observe and study his child.
He examined whether behavior was learned or instinctual. He thought that children
needed to have freedom and express themselves. He helped society understand that
the minds, attitudes and emotions of children need to slowly be shaped overtime,
they are not naturally instilled at birth.
G. Stanley Hall was another great contributor to the advancements in the child
rearing reformation. In 1880, Hall conducted a set of experiments on 400 Boston
school children. Results of his study showed that children have minimal basic
knowledge like being able to identify body parts. In 1904, Hall wrote a book stating
that children were growing up too fast and needed to be in environments away from
adult temptation. He advocated for more child like environments such as schools
catering to the student s ages like kindergarten, middle school and high school. He
also indicated that extracurricular activities such sports were a great thing for children.

Separation Of Powers In Australia
Brief Background and Description of the Separation of Powers:
Australia adopted its democratic system from both the Westminster and United States
pre established versions. The structure of separation of powers intends to delegate the
power of the state to three branches in order to minimise the abuse of this power and
ensure justice through its protection. The powers pertaining to each branch are
mutually exclusive to each arm of government . The legislative branch, responsible
for the drafting and establishing of laws, the executive, aimed at putting the laws into
force and implementing them and the judiciary designed to interpret the laws, are
evidence of the exclusivity of each branches function within the Australian

jurisdiction and employing powers in which it did not have the authority to exercise.
The defending party acknowledged that it was open to the Communications
Authority to form an opinion on their actions. Ultimately the case was decided
against the position taken by Today FM and the appellant trial judges unanimously.
It was ruled that the ACMA was not exercising judicial power in their actions of
suspending a broadcasting license, there is no basis on which the Authority, in so
acting, could be said to exercise judicial power. None of the indicia of exclusively
judicial power would be present. The court then went on to make clear that The

Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Pros And Cons
The Israeli Palestinian conflict has been a tragedy, a clash between one very
powerful, very convincing, very painful claim over this land and another no less
powerful, no less convincing claim, (Oz, Amos). This conflict has been one that has
lasted multiple decades and continues to be a hotbed for controversial opinions and
arguments. One pressing issue in today s time is whether or not the United States
should continue to support what seems like a never ending conflict. The United
States Government should continue to pressure Israelinto a two state solution in order
to reap the benefits, which include the creation of democratic nations in the Middle
East, improved relations with bordering countries, and a decrease in violence.

As the world becomes more industrialized and interdependent, the need for good
relations in areas increases, especially with countries near Israel. The Middle East
is becoming a more prominent player in global relations today, making their
alliance extremely valuable to those who have it. The United States relationship
with countries in the Middle East is a pressing topic as terrorism in this region
grows. By pressuring Israel into creating two states, the United States can help
decrease the hostile relations between them and countries Palestine is allied with,
which include Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan among many other arab nations.
According to Chas W. Freeman of the Middle East Policy Council, our main
conflict with the arab states stems from our alliance and support of Israel while
they continue to oppress Palestinians. Thus, two states would lead to a relaxation in
these relations. As discussed in the paragraph above, two states would also lead to
the creation of the first two democracies in the Middle East. Through shared
political views, relations in the area will improve as well. Therefore, the pressure of
the United States to create two states will boost relations with countries in the Middle
East, which is vital in today s
Terrorist Cyber Attacks
Terrorist cyber attacks on national institutions will result in greater devastation than a
cyber crime directed against an individual. At the current rate in which technology is
increasing, establishments must constantly upgrade their system s security. If the
national institutions fail to be vigilant to the present day cyber threats, they will
become victims of terrorist cyber attacks. Our nation s government, military,
scientific, commercial and entertainment sectors all operate on the same networks as
our adversaries (Alexander 18). A terrorist cyber attackthat is successful, has the
potential to put people at risk, by allowing sensitive information to get into the wrong
hands, disrupting resources, or by altering system information in corporations, to
cause harm or confusion. Since a terroristic attack is focused on causing violence or
chaos, the targets at risk would be energy sources and electric grids, water and sewer
systems, manufacturing, banks, transportation and communication networks
(Brenner 15). The source of a terrorist cyber attack can be from a foreign
government or criminal entities, as well as a disgruntle employee. An example of a

The United States remains in the forefront of cyber security. In my opinion, the
government is capable of dealing with terroristic cyber attacks and is aware of the
current technological advancements, which could compromise their defense. The
Secretary of defense, in 2009, created the U.S. Cyber Command department to assist
in the defense of our nation (Alexander 21). A strong cyber defense provides the
essential assurance for the government and private sector to operate securely. The
United States government is actively countering these cyber attacks, since very few

During a sweltering summer day, my brother, cousin and I decided to wade in
unfamiliar waters to cool down. When entered we definitely cooled down because
our teeth were chattering. Soon, something clung to my brother s leg. We got in that
situation when my mom, dad, brother, cousin and I went on a two week road trip to
Seattle, Washington. During that trip, we stopped at Yellowstone Park for two days.
During our stay there, we did few activities like seeing the many geysers, playing in a
lake, camping, and seeing some animals.
My family and I arrived in Yellowstone Park at around 3 PM. When we reached the
camping grounds, we found our camping spot and we tried to figure out how to set

Dylan found out, he started jumping and running like a maniac. Then, my dad told
Dylan to calm down so he could scrape the leech off with his pocket knife. I was

Neil was scared and acted like Dylan when he saw the leech. My dad was curious

Realism In Marcel Carne s Les Enfants Du Paradis
Carolina Alvarez Les Enfants du Paradis
The disillusionment of the Germans after World War 1 led to the rise of the racist
Nazi Party. They put the blame on innocent Jewish people as the cause of all their
problems. The Nuremburg laws were the beginning of the harsh treatment of the
scapegoats. Hitler planned to invade Europe to create his perfect society of blonde
haired, blue eyed Aryans. As Germany was invading France in 1940, the lives of
the French would change in every aspect of their lives. In Marcel Carne s Les
Enfants du Paradis, one can see that it fits into other movies that were made during
the German invasion of France. It follows the restrictions that were put on by Nazi
Party but also broke some rules to keep their artistic integrity and used it as a
means of escapism for the people of France. Les Enfants du Paradis tells the story
in a poetic realist way that was a very popular movie in 1945. Poetic realism centers
around working class characters and the theme of doomed love, the blending of
comedy and tragedy, the use of long shots and long takes, and narratives that
function as critiques of society (Glover). The movie revolves around 4 male
characters and their doomed love for a woman who choices affect everyone. Rotten
Tomatoes describes it as:
Even in 1945, Marcel Carne s Children of Paradise was regarded as an old fashioned
film. Set in the Parisian theatrical world of the 1840s, Jacques Prevert s screenplay
concerns four men in love with the
Theme Of Innocence In Catcher In The Rye
In The Catcher in the Rye, a harrowed teenager named Holden Caulfield can t
accept the fact that everyone has to grow up. He gets kicked out of his old school
and sets of on a wandering adventure throughout a bunch of cities including New
York and Agerstown, Pennsylvania. As we get to know Holden, we find out that he
believes that every adult in some way is corrupted in a sense. He also believes that
children are the only genuine thing in the world due to their innocence and their
purity. Salinger employs adult situations in Holden s journey to emphasize that loss
of innocence is inevitable; otherwise, you ll sight of yourselves and create a fantasy
world full of lies and false truths. In Holden s school, there are many instances that...

In chapter 13, Holden is offered a prostitute for 5 dollars by an elevator operator in
a hotel. Holden warily accepts the deal. The prostitute comes to his room and tries
to sexy talk Holden. Holden rejects her because he just didn t want to do it.
(Salinger 107) This event reveals something very important to the reader. It reveals
that Holden is still holding on to his innocence. According to the beginning of the
book, Holden talks about how there weren t many girls at the football games and
how he likes to stay close to them.(Salinger 5) This dialogue implies that Holden is
a sexual being, but if we look back at the situation with the prostitute, we see that
Holden is wary of actually having sex with the prostitute. Using the information
that we have, we can infer that Holden just wants to pretend that he isn t innocent.
Deep inside, Holden is still a kid. Now that we know that Holden is still trying to
hold on to his innocence, we can now fully understand his fantasy world of
phonies. According to Holden, most of the adults in the world is to some degree a
phony during a football game at Pencey.. I was surrounded by phonies. (Salinger

Sadako And The Thousand Paper Cranes By Rosemary

Rosemary Barilla, an eighth grade Language Arts teacher, felt an overwhelming
need to incorporate fine arts into her teaching. With each book read or study taught,
she added projects or outings that brought an aspect of the fine arts into the lesson.
When she had the class read Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes, she had the
students make one thousand Japanese origami paper cranes. During the class s study
of Haiku poetry, she had the class learn to do sum e brushstrokes of bamboo. By
combining art with the English curriculum, the students were better able to grasp the
topic and retained the lesson in a deeper, more meaningful way. She often did this
with the support and assistance of the school s art teacher. Ms. Barilla stated,
In The Wake Of The Plague Summary
In the novel In the Wake of the Plague by Norman F. Cantor he researches the
details etched into the minds of us Americans about the Black Plague. Cantor states
that the Black Death was probably not solely due to rodent borne forms of the
bubonic plague. He will begin to prove his argument by the use of biomedical
context. When a human contracted this disease without antidote, there is a four out
of five possibility that he will die within two weeks. The first stage is marked by
flulike symptoms, normally accompanied by high fever. In the second stage, black
welts and bulges appear on the victims. These bulges vary in size and are known to
be extremely painful. Diarrhea and vomiting also accompany this. The third and often
most fatal stage is basically pneumonia. Today if this was to outbreak once more, the
patient can be treated with antibiotics during the first two stages. If the patient
reaches the third stage, the antibiotics may not work. During the time of the bubonic
plagueand the Black Deaththey didn t have antidote to be treated with. Antibiotics did

Also, this subject is quite similar to what is going on in this day and time with the
wide spread virus known as Ebola. Surveying recent biomedical research on the
Black Death, he believes that two diseases were at work in the 14th century during
the Bubonic Plague, identified as the one of the major components of the Black Death,
and a variety of anti humanoid Anthrax. The result was devastating, with up to 40
percent of Europe s population dying from the diseases. Among the historical
consequences, Cantor believes it was the end of the Plantagenet s Anglo French
Empire, for the Black Death decimated the peasant population that supplied the
English kings with the skilled infantry archers that were the backbone of England s

Immediately upon looking at the walls residence, 93 little Hobart Street, one can
tell that the family is suffering from poor living conditions. The outside of the
house lacks any paint and there are many holes in the porch causing a safety

there is only one bathroom in the entirety of the house. The house is essentially

there are lots of paintings that line the walls of the home. All of the kids are
crowded into one bed; there is essentially mold on every wall of the house. There
are four children in the house named Jeanette, Lori, Brian, and Maureen. Jeanette is

Essay on Cultural Difference between Mexicans and
Americans
Cultural Difference between Mexicans and Americans
While Texas leader Stephen Austin initially had no contempt toward Mexicans, the
Anglo American citizens in the area did. The American Texans of the 1800 s defined
Mexicans as a race alien to everything that Americans held dear (De Leon 4). This
sentiment would serve as the primary catalyst to the Texas secession from Mexico.
When Austin began colonizing the area, he envisioned a place in which Anglo
Americans and Tejanos, Mexicansliving in Texas, could live together. Eventually,
though, the public opinions of North American settlers in the territory and in
Washington would make him realize that the goal of unity between the two groups
was impossible.

(Del Castillo 4) Americans believed they were the pioneers of the continent, who
would inevitably spread the benefits of democracy and freedom to the lesser peoples
inhabiting the region (Del Castillo 4).
The prevailing attitude of white supremacy was the justification Americans used to
rescue the wilderness from backwardness, indolence, and disorder (De Leon 65).
Mexico in its earliest days was primarily Indian, but the infusion of both Spanish and
black blood made it harder to define Mexicans. White Anglo Americans believed their
contrast to white and salient kindred to black and red made Mexicans subject to
treatment commensurate with the odious connotations whites attached to colors,
races, and cultures dissimilar to their own (De Leon 6).
Both Americans and Mexicans laid bricks creating cultural differences. America
prided itself on being a nation comprised of people working for a better future.
Mexicans were noted as focusing on the pleasures of life and ignoring their
responsibilities. David Woodman, a promoter for a New York and Boston land
company, is quoted in De Leon s They Called Them Greasers, saying Mexicans
habitually succumbed to indolence and ease and indulge themselves in smoking,
music, dancing, horse racing, and other sports (7). Many Americans who visited
Mexico were appalled
The Effects Of Climate Change On The North Atlantic
Region...
1.0 Introduction Climate change has progressively become more problematic for
coastal societies in recent history as a result of elevated greenhouse gas emission
levels across the planet. Increases in sea level and sea surface temperature, as well
as atmospheric pressure accretion, are unnatural effects directly linked to increased
carbon dioxide (CO2) release into the atmosphere. Some of the sources of these
increases have come from the greater use of coal and gasoline for industrial and
transportation purposes. Hurricanes (tropical cyclones), most common in the North
Atlantic region, have intensified due to this global warming . But occurrences of
such events are predicted to diminish (Emanuel, 2011). Hurricanes are expected to
form less frequently in the North Atlantic, but they will become more intense and
powerful over time. As high intensity hurricanes become more common events along
the densely populated eastern coast of the United States, more resilient engineering
solutions will need to be implemented by current generations to reduce their
destructive impact. 2.0 With or Without Rock Seawall vs. Hurricane Sandy On
October 29th of 2012, Hurricane Sandy stormed its way through the northeast region
of the United States, causing tremendous damage to coastal areas. The combination
of 80 90mph winds and waves in excess of 32ft high caused the destruction of
property in northern New Jersey. The level of damage varied even between

An Analysis Of The Friar In The Canterbury Tales
In the story The Canterbury Tales we are supposed to pick out which character we
thought was the most immoral. I chose the Friar because he broke almost every vow
he was supposed to follow, the members of the clergy have four vows they are
supposed to live by which is a vow of poverty, a vow of chastity, obedience, and a
vow of stability. So i m going to tell you about these very bad acts the Friar has
performed. The first vow he breaks is his vow of poverty when it says One should
give silver for a poor friars care (Chaucer line 236). This shows that he uses his
poorness as pity so that people will give him money when really he s not supposed to
care about any of that. The second vow he breaks is his vow of chastity he breaks this

quick and easy alternative to making a full dinner. Mr. Ando made the iconic snack
food for the true reason that fosters invention. He created it out of necessity. In Japan
there was a shortage of food after World War... Show more content on

Minimum Wage Advantages And Disadvantages
The issue of minimum wage has been a growing concern for quite some time, but has
been ignored in the U.S. Those affected most, fast food workers have started to join
social movement to express their anger resulting in state and local government
passing legislation implementing a raise in their states minimum wage. The forced
wagehike has caused a strain on business and it is time to find a solution. The
purpose of this study is to discuss the possible benefits of implementing the use of
automated equipment into the fast food day to day processes. To support this study,
literature and examples of the use of automation and the benefits it provides will be
discussed in this study.

Background The founder of McDonald has revolutionized the way world eat. Ray
Kroc brought the Henry Ford secret of success of the assembly from the auto
industry to the food industry s kitchen by making product that were uniform,
inexperience, and quality manufacturing (Staff). As McDonald continue to grow,
owner Ray Kroc continue to improve the process to make the restaurant run more
efficiently, but the world has changed. A process that worked in the 1950 s no long
hold purpose today and companies will have to make changes for the future or risk
being left behind. An issue facing fast food companies is the rising unhappiness
among its employees. With a rise in the cost of living and the stagnation of wages
in the U.S., Fast Food workers have joined the Fight for $15 movement demanding
a livable wage. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services have shown
than an individual making $11,880 annually is considered to be in poverty in 2016
(Computation). In the same year, fast food workers made an average salary of
$13,161.84 (Wage), though the companies made $206.3 billion in revenue. The
information provided has shown that the fast food industry is thriving but its
employees are living close to poverty. Due to this Local and State Government have
in acted laws that would mandate companies to pay a standard minimum wage.
Problem Statement The U.S. has ignored the wage issue facing Americans resulting
in local politicians to take actions.

Physical Therapy For Injuries
When an injury requires that a person immobilizes the area injured to prevent
movement during the healing process, it can cause muscles to atrophy. Tendons and
ligaments also become stiff and affect the range of motion when the injured area has
healed. An orthopedist will often send patients to an Injury Rehabilitation Clinic to
help the patient regain strength and range of motion, under the supervision of a
licensed physical therapist.
Physical therapy is used to reduce chronic pain, and to help restore physical function
once an injury has healed. Therapists will also explain to patients how to avoid
further injury in the future. They use manual therapy such as ultrasound, electrical
stimulation, and hot and cold therapy to relieve swelling
An Inspector Calls Eva Smith Character Analysis
Apart from Mrs. Birling, Priestley in his play An Inspector Calls, conveys women as
very weak and inferior characters; as the play was set in 1912, we can see how
women were stereotypically made to be obedient and loyal to their husbands.
Through the character of Eva Smith the theme of vulnerability is portrayed, and
through the character of Sheila we can see how women are shown as materialistic and
incompetent.
Throughout the play Priestley exhibits the character of Eva Smith as an impuissant
character; she is mentioned very frequently as she highlights the faults of society in
1912 due to the ill excused way she was treated, being inferior to males of her own
class as well as those much wealthier than her. Yet she never makes an appearance in
the play. When she is first mentioned she is portrayed as weak when the... Show more

From this we can infer that Priestley is portraying women as weak, as if they can
not speak their own mind, therefore Gerald had to talk for her since she could not
do it herself. He goes to open the door while Sheila takes her mother out. Then he
closes it and comes back in, from these stage directions we can see how Priestlety
conveys how the women are too fragile to be involved in important conversations.
The fact that Sheila takes her mother out , as the men stay inside and continue to
discuss, portrays that the women are not only too weak to handle the conversation
but also that they are unimportant in the matter, as they did not need to stay. This
concludes the fact that women are exhibited as insignificant and weak through Sheila
s unimportance and delicate

Description Of A Good Friend
Dearest Good Friend,
After having taken an entire course dedicated to design, I think that I ought to pass
on some of the information I learned in the form of some oh so friendly advice.
Although you, my good friend who has been seriously considering going into
design for some time, may already know a bit about design, I thought it a good idea
to let you know about what a few of the sources I have been reading have to say
about being a designer. Also, I wanted to let you know what these sources say in
regard to the place of designers and of designers work in the larger society.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to give you the full run down, but I have chosen
the best just for you. Jumping ahead a bit to my summary of findings, I found that
designers have special responsibilities lot of them. They have to think about the
people with which they work, the consumers of their designs, the manufacturers of
their designs, and the nature of the material with which they work. Also, design
should not be thought of as a way in which people show mastery and control over
the world. To do this is a bad idea because it can have a negative impact on a person s
morals. Now that I have given you an overview of my findings, I will let you know
more about how I came to these conclusions.
In deciding whether designers have any special responsibilities, I found the articles A

Essay about Preventing Plagiarism in Writing
TITLE : PREVENTING PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism is a act of imprinting another person s writing, conversation, or even ideas.
This even includes the information one gets from WebPages, the published papers
online and even articles
Paraphrasing is also considered plagiarism if done without proper internal citation.
Plagiarism stays still unclear because often the boundary between plagiarism and
research is unclear. Plagiarism is also considered as academic dishonesty and breach
of ethics. It s not a crime though which must have a legal action but in academy and
organizations or industries it is considered to be a serious offence. In educational
institutions plagiarism is defined in multiple ways. They ... Show more content on

In the discussion over plagiarism factors responsible for it , methods to avoid

Plagiarism is more common in academic world. There is a increasing lure among

Elizabethan Entertainment Research Paper
Entertainment in the Elizabethan Era There were many different forms of
entertainment and entertainers during the Elizabethan Era, or Shakespearean Age.
Most well endowed families in the Elizabethan Era were able to do a lot more in
order to entertain themselves. This is especially because they are not busy with the
hard work and tasks that lower classes have to handle on a daily basis. According to
Dylan Shore, the elite class enjoyed themselves by throwing large feasts, jousts, and
banquets. The jousts that were thrown consisted of a competition with two opponents
who fought on horses with lances. Jousting was a very popular sport during this era,
especially for the elite. Banquets were thrown with five courses, each course being
reasonably large and filling ( Entertainment in the Elizabethan Era). Because the elite
class had access to more, as stated in a BBC article, ...the invention of the printing
press and spread of education meant that gentlemen were part of an elitist culture
involved in intellectual pursuits, such as reading the classics, studying music,
hunting, and hawking. ( Life in Elizabethan England ). They also danced and listened
to music, which was a form of entertainment that lower classes also engaged in (

The Big Bang Theory And Evolution
Creation Theory
A young man who is a senior in college has the opportunity of a lifetime to conduct
research with professors in Israel on geological fossils for his major in Earth
Science. He had never been out of the United States before and only knew what he
had been taught: the big bang theory and evolution. Israel is made up of a very strong
Jewish community and, as this young man would soon find out, they did not view
geological findings through the Big Bang theory, but through the Biblical creation
theory. Due to their disagreements he had traveled to a different country only to fail
to understand his new professor s teachings The United States of America was
founded upon the Christian God but yet teachers are not even allowed to teach about
the Biblical creation theory of how Earth was made. They are forced to only teach
about the big bang theory and evolution. What students are being taught today is only
a scientific theory and can not be proved, so why not at least teach the theory our
nation was founded upon to the students. They are only being taught a single side of
the story with no option to learn any other theory. There are also many parents who
want their children to be exposed to different theories of the Earth s creation. Without
teaching multiple theories, there is no way for children to have an interest sparked in
them to investigate into the many theories that are in existence. Also, it is very
inappropriate in the school setting for the students to
Essay about Ricardo Semler And New Zealand
Introduction
The biggest challenge facing any business today is change. Ricardo Semlars
approach to management revolutionized they way in which Secom did business.
However it is of question if Semlars model of business can be successfully
transplanted into New Zealand s business environment and change the way in which
they operate. This essay will therefore discuss if Ricardo s unique approach to
business, and how it can be successfully used in the New Zealand business
environment.
This essay will firstly discuss the idea that profit sharing can motivate workers and
how this idea is set up in the New Zealand business environment. Secondly the ways

Another way of looking at this idea is that if an employee can directly relate to the
success of the company, with the amount of profits they will receive, employees
would join with management to improve the business profitability and productivity.
Bell and Hanson (1987) also believe that by implementing a profit sharing scheme
into a business, employees will have a greater sense of identity with the company
and have a greater share in the company s success. One example of successful
implementation of this idea in New Zealand is Mac Pac. Mac Pac is one of New
Zealand leading outdoor equipment providers. After 5 years of running the
business, CEO Bruce McIntyre has implemented a profit sharing scheme into the
business where Macpac distribute 20% of pre tax profits to staff each year. Other
business in New Zealand has followed this business model such as the CEO of
GMV Associates New Zealand, who believes that There are huge advantages in
profit share because the staff becomes totally committed to the company (Clark
Reynolds cited in Light, 1997, p.34). What this leads to is a decrease in employee
turnover and increase productivity of workers, because they now have a greater
interest in the company s success. This translates into a more successful company.
However New Zealand businesses wishing to implement profit sharing schemes
should not just look at shop floor workers buy managers as well. Currently in

Whether the information portrays the elected official in a positive or negative manner
does not correspond with whether the information is real or fake. The Protecting
American Integrity Act would be considered compelled speech, but would not be
considered prior restraint. The book defines prior restraint as an action taken by the
government to prohibit publication of a specific document or text before it is
distributed to the public; a policy that requires government approval before
publication (Trager, et al., 2016, p. 693). This means that information under prior
restraint requires permission from the government before it can be published.
An example of prior restraint is the case of Near v. Minnesota. Minnesota law
allowed the state to enjoin publication of any periodical that typically produced
malicious, scandalous, and defamatory content (Coyle, E., 01/25/17). There was
also a use of an injunction which is permission granted by a judge to require that
all publication of the scandalous or defamatory information be removed. Jay Near,
the defendant in Near v. Minnesota, published in his paper that city officials were
standing by as Jewish gangsters operated gambling, bootlegging and racketeering
business across the city (Trager, et al., 2016, p. 66). This caused an uproar after the
state of Minnesota reviewed the case and implemented a ban of

The two plates are the Pacific Plate and the Australian Tectonic Plate. The
Australian Plate goes north while the Pacific Plate heads west. They are moving at
a rate at about 3.5 cm per year. In the Wellington area, the faults move sideways but
sometimes they go up and down. The pressure on the crust has caused it to break up
into many large pieces. The plates have been moving for about 25 million years now.
The Wellington Fault had parted was around 300 500 years ago with a 7.6 earthquake.
Wellington mostly has small and medium size earthquakes. The larger earthquakes
occur every once 500 years. The very, large earthquakes are about every 1000 years.
The large earthquakes on the fault can cause deaths and injuries. Geoscientists believe
that the Wellington Fault could have an earthquake about every 500 1000 years. The
Fault forms a extraordinary landscape features that go right through the central city.
The Wellington Fault can produce earthquakes with the magnitude of eight. There are
five faults that could cause the most damage are the Wellington Fault, Ohariu Fault
(north and south), Carterton Fault, Wairarapa Fault and the Masterton Fault. Some
of these faults have shore which could increase the risk of tsunamis. The tsunamis
can cause even more damage after an earthquake. Houses and buildings in the area
are wooden and are stronger than most. The Wellington Fault divides the area in
two which creates the Upper Basin and the Lower Basin. The Upper Basin is
covered with soil gravel and sand. While the Lower Basin creates the Wellington
Habor because it is under water. The Upper and Lower Basin are some of the most
affected by the fault moving. The Wellington Fault is split up into three sections: The
Wellington Hutt Valley, the Pahiatua, and the Taraua. The Wellington Hutt Valley is
75 km long, curved fault. It s most recent earthquake was about 150 450 years ago.

Black And Tans
The essay explains how the Irish War of Independence was marked by terrorism
meant to counter the Black and Tans who were the British lethal forces. The
discussion explains how black and Tans used excessive forces on innocent civilians
where robbery, murder, and looting were common. Subsequently, the Ireland
Republican Army adopted terrorism as part of their offensive against the British
forces. The essay highlights that the use of terrorism was necessary due to lethal
forces that were used by the Britons. This is because it managed to counter excessive
forces used by Black and Tans who were also terrorizing them.
The Irish War of independence otherwise Known as the Black and Tan War started in
1919 to 1921 July (Augusteijn, 1996). This was a guerrilla warfare that consisted of
15000 soldiers of Ireland Republican Army that went against British Arm force and
constabulary totaling to 42,000(Augusteijn, 1996). The essay explains that the
Ireland army had no option but to use terrorism as part of countermeasures against
British forces.
The war resulted in nearly 2000 deaths with 750 of them being civilians (Augusteijn,
1996). The cause of conflict can be traced back to the election of December in 1918

Living In The City Vs City Life
Living in the city can be an exciting experience for a greater opportunity than living
in the country. The country provides a relaxing environment that the city may not
provide. Some would prefer to live the city life, others prefer the country life. People
who live in the country would probably have hobbies like fishing, hunting, and riding
dirt bikes versus people living in the city; People living in the city would much rather
go out to nice restaurants, live close to other people, and have an expensive lifestyle.
Living in the city is very different from living in the country because they are
different lifestyles with different atmospheres.
Residence in the city can have a greater variety of things to do and different
varieties of people to meet. Residing in the city can give you better opportunities to
make friends than the country because everyone lives so close together and the
county has property at a farther distance. Even though the property is separated out
the country area, it would be hard not to run into an individual that you may be
familiar with because they are usually in small towns. City life would be great for
individuals that love meeting new people every day and doing a variety of things in
their free time.
In the city, there are more to be entertained with like shopping outlet s, bowling
alleys, and special events that the country may not have. Individuals that are twenty
one and up can stop at bars and nightclubs with people that are befriended the

that advanced with tricks, they did have simple tricks because skateboarders knew
how to go up and down ramps (Care). In 1976, the first outdoor skatepark was
opened in Florida (Werner 108). Eventually, they did advance in tricks, and one of the
most common tricks used was finally invented. In 1978, skateboarding had a drastic

reliever. Not only does skateboarding give anyone who tries it physical benefits, but
it also gives you mental strength as well. Whenever you learn any sport, it

land tricks that you ve been practicing for a while (Awesomeinc.org).
Skateboarding helps people mentally by getting you away from everyday life and
the stresses that come with it. The more you skateboard, the stronger your self
confidence will become, allowing you to move on to more challenging tricks. Pretty
soon, you could be doing tricks no one else knows how to do, but you have to be

Ground Pool Research Paper
Aubrey, thank you for your post. I have also grown up being called a water baby . I
started swimming at a very young age and have loved it all my life. We use to have
an in ground pool at our house and I would swim for exercise and play with my
children in the pool. We had a winding slide and we use to make up games that
somehow involved going down the slide and diving into the water to find hidden
objects someone else had placed in the pool. Then we sold our house and I really miss
our pool now.
These days, the only time I get to swim is when we are on vacation. We go to the
beaches in the Caribbean several times a year and there s nothing more enjoyable
than heading to the beach and spending the day in the beautiful crystal clear warm
water.
“Beauty (Re) Discovers the Male Body” Essay
examples
Beauty (Re) Discovers the Male Body response In Beauty (Re) Discovers the Male
Body by Susan Bordo, Bordo writes an analysis on the male body in advertising.
Bordo discusses how in the society of advertising and fashion the male body isn t
really seen as a symbol of arousal compared to the female body. She continues saying
how the naked or half naked femalebody is seen as an object of mainstream
consumption (p.299), while the maleboy is just beginning to be a commercial
representation (p.299) object. She also talks about how the percentage of people
viewing these pictures with half naked males mainly only increased in the male
percentage of viewers instead of the females. Bordo continues by adding how women
feel the need... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sources help to show how looking thin and muscular or fit is the popular trend.
She explains that advertisements and movies have changed to fit the trend and that
she wishes the male body would look more natural rather than a sex object. In Bordo
s opinion the male body should be less sexual and more natural. Although this is a
plausible argument I believe that men in the ads should continue to appear as sex
objects (p.312). It would allow men to strive to look like what the ads show. It will
also motivate the men of our society to be fit. Bordo also believes that men get
aroused by the ads of men in underwear more than women but nowadays a lot of
women get aroused by half naked men. Women do actually survey (p.303) men
more than she thinks they do. Women like to read or look at pictures with men
toned, tan and sexy and fantasize about them. Bordo uses primary and secondary
sources from multiple companies to prove her argument that men rather than be seen
as sexy macho men they rather be seen for how the really look. She also touches
upon how society has changed in media fashion and advertisement concerning the
male body from just females just being the only ones in ads to male and females and
how it affects females in society
Durkheim Social Inequality
The video for my project1: Video/DVD analysis is about the social/individual
inequality of our society, and it will be focused on Durkheim s view. It is from the
youtube.com, originally from Khan academy for health and medicine contents. The
video is about the social/individual inequality in our society.
The video is briefly, but explained the details of social inequality depend on the social
classes of our society; upper class, middle class, and the lower (working) class and
how it is that the resources in a society are unevenly distributed. It is explaining how
each classes are treated in education and healthcare. One of them are the wealth
distribution in the United States; the fact that Top 20% of US are taking control of
72% of the world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His views can be divided into three different theories; the form of solidarity,
Anomie, and the division of labor. Durkheim explained that there are two different
types of the social integration; which is mechanical and organic solidarity. He
explained that the mechanical solidarity forms a group or community where
people affiliate and feel the comfort by regulated by the shared rules and the
systems of beliefs, which is we call common conscience. The mechanical solidarity
has a strong social morality compare to organic solidarity. The organic solidarity is
more like an opposite theory of mechanical solidarity. The organic solidarity is the
society that is more focused on individual s values, performance in different tasks,
and form a society that has less social morality with less common conscience.
Durkheim explained, as a society grows up, the division of labor increases and
become powerful. The mechanical and organic solidarity must exist in our society
to keep the balance between the inequality and equality. But at the same time, it also
makes big distance between the high class and working class and it is causing
working class to feel devastated because of the differences of advantages and
disadvantages between the high class and working
Presidential Campaign Of President Obama
Political campaigns can elevate a candidate s position, or a poorly run campaign can
doom that candidate s chances no matter how good the candidate is. At the end of the
day all that matters is winning. That is the goal of political campaigns in a nutshell.
There have been many tactics implemented when trying to run a campaign. Of the
tactics implemented there are those that are believed to work better than others. Of
those that work better than others are, mobilizing base voters by properly identifying
who they are, having a clear message and spreading that message to voters, debate
performances and fundraising efforts. In this paper the 2008presidential campaign of
current president Barack Obamawill be measured along with the 2004 presidential
campaign of John F. Kerry. In this paper both campaigns will be analyzed on what
tactics they used properly, where they were not as effective and what could have been
differently.
One of the most important factors when trying to run a successful political
campaign is properly identifying and mobilizing base voters. According to the
readings in the book Presidential Elections: Strategies and Structures of American
Politics, it gives reasons why people do and do not vote. One of the reasons people
do vote is because voting in some way or another makes the voter feel good.
However when a campaign properly identifies their base voters, they can pretty much
assume that those voters are going to go out and vote, but more importantly
President System vs Parliament System
Presidential Government VS Parliamentary Government
Canada and the U.S. are ruled under two different political systems of government
which are parliamentary government and presidential government. These two
government systems are the most fundamental and dominant government methods in
the world. The main issue and debate that has been concerned is that which form of
government is more superior to the other. It will provide on the characteristics of
parliamentary system and also characteristics of the presidential system. Moreover,
comparison of main elements of these two systems will be examined as well.
Contemporary examples from both the Canadian and the U.S system will be
illustrated to strengthen main differences. This paper will ... Show more content on

The prime minister can determine the ministers in each ministry (Johnson, 2004).
The head of government has certain degree of authority and freedom to delegate to its
ministers, and it can lead the government to more stable political situation because
fusion of power between the ministries and prime minister is achieved. Prime
ministers can also nominate members of the cabinet but their functions are not just
limited to advisory and consultative. The members must decide collectively broad
matters of policy, involving foreign affairs, finance, and other issues of concern to the
entire government (Hitchner, 1970). The collective body of cabinets reduces the role
of prime minister and his executive power. The presidential government has
distinctive characteristics compared to parliamentary system. According to
Hargrove, presidential government can be defined as by nature, single person
office, chosen for a fixed term by a uniquely national constituency, sharing virtually
all the powers of the federal government with an equally distinct and independent
congress (Hargrove, 1984). The president, who is directly elected by public, is head
of the government and also head of the state. It appears that the president has full
support from public and also symbolizes the national representative and unifying
figure. The separation of power and check and balance are main features in the
presidential form of government. According to Abueva, legislative power is vested in
Age-Related Hearing Loss
Not being able to hear what others are saying or respond to audible warning signals
can have detrimental effects on your personal relationships, your job, and your
ability to do everyday activities. Pacific Hearing Care, the leading provider of high
quality hearing aids in Honolulu and Mililani, attributes the primary cause of hearing
loss to aging.
To help you and your loved ones understand the common causes of age related
hearing loss, these experts share the following information:
Age: As we get older, nerve cells inside the eareither get damaged or die, diminishing
our ability to hear. About a third of people ages 65 74 suffer from age related hearing

The Devastating Power Of Pollution
The Devastating Power of Pollution Think about all the bodies of water on our
planet. Every river, lake, stream, and is essential to the way our world functions.
Unfortunately, our society has done very little to preserve these water sources and
as a result, our rivers, lakes, streams, and oceans are suffering from many forms of
pollution. Every oil spill, discarded water bottle, and obstructive dam continually add
to our already polluted waters, and very little is being done to reverse this problem.
The most prominent issue being studied today is stormwaterrunoff. The collection of
fine sediments, chemicals, and debris, are a serious pollution concern. Many
solutions and technologies have already been developed, but the number one... Show

They can range from anything such as grassed waterways and rooftops to rain
gardens strategically placed in areas of heavy storm water runoff. They can be
simple, like choosing a paint color that blends machinery into an environment, or
they can be complex like monitoring and production technologies. One of the most
effective BMPs used today are pervious surfaces. This can be applied to parking
lots, cul de sacs, and turf pavers. When a surface is porous, it reduces the amount of
stormwater runoff by absorbing the excess water into the pavement. It also doesn t
allow for the collection of sediments or other hazardous materials because the water
does not run along the asphalt.
The field of sediment pollution has many innovative solutions and techniques that
help reduce or eliminate the harmful effects of stormwater runoff. Some examples
include constructing porous asphalt, grass rooftops, riparian forest buffers (a grove
of trees and shrubs), bio retention lakes, storm water wetlands, and dry ponds (Metro
Council, nd). Each of those practices can make a dramatic change in amount of
pollution in urban and rural areas, but it is important to make sure BMPs are properly
constructed and maintained. If not, then there could be serious damage to the
environment and require great costs to the community. BMPs like to take advantage
of abundant energy sources, such as sunlight. By using a renewable
Holocaust Survivors Of The Holocaust
According to the texts and eyewitness accounts, the Holocaust had horrendous effects
on the people who lived through it. During this time Jews were being rounded up and
put into concentration camps by order of the German government. Writings and
testimonies from survivors of the Holocaust are around even to this day. According to
these sources, Holocaust survivors suffered tremendously since they were treated as
less than human , they lost loved ones, and were constantly abused. During the
Holocaust, people in the Nazi s custody were treated as less than human. According to
Jakob s Story , the Nazi s gave their prisoners little food and only one meal a day.
Jakob writes we ate one meal a day and it consisted of soup with potato peels;
scraps of food from the SS (Blankitny, paragraph 17). Here one can see that the Nazi

According to I m Telling the Story by Magdalena Klein, the prisoners were not
given proper clothing. She writes In rags, soiled, infested with lice (Klein, stanza
2) and Unclad frail feet were trudging in the snow (Klein, stanza 4). The Nazi s not
only neglect to give the prisoners proper clothing, they also force them to walk
barefoot through the snow! This problem is still present in the world today, not with
the Nazis, but tyrannical governments still do this. In short, Nazi prisoners were not
treated with the respect that is due to every human being, and suffered greatly
because of it. In conclusion, the Holocaust had detrimental effects on all that
survived. This was because prisoners were treated as less than human and not given
enough food. They also lost many of their loved ones, many of whom were
executed. And to top it all off, they were abused by their captors on a regular basis.
With these things happening, it s no surprise that survivors of the Holocaust suffered

Bp Management, Ethical And Social Behavior
In the month of April 2010, Deepwater Horizon exploded, killing 11 workers and
releasing oil from the well into an ocean. This paper will discuss BP management,
ethical and social behavior. BP along with a few of its partners Transocean and
Halliburton was involved in the gulf oil spill. The explosion of the drilling rig
Deepwater Horizon was the root cause of the oil spill. This paper will focus on BP
organization behavioral issues that caused the economic, environmental, and human
losses. The research further focuses on what BP leadershipcould have done as a
precautionary measure using highest ethics and managementbehavior.
BP Organization Culture
A unique set of principles, vision, and discipline drives corporate behavior and
culture. Robbins and Judge (2014) describe culture as, shared meaning held by the
members (p.465). The culture guides the employee motivation and their behavior
towards customers and the external world. One of the management skills is
supporting individual and team by understanding and communicating with them.
Ability to analyze and diagnose complex scenario is also a management skill.
Various levels of diversity bring rich skills to organization such as creativity,
interpersonal views. BP leaders constantly demonstrated poor leadership qualities by
acting the way they wanted. Displaying of one s emotions in the workplace has
greater impact on collaboration and productivity. Let us examine how BP culture
contributed to the oil disaster.

Examples Of Greediness In The Book Of Proverbs
Greediness
In the book of proverbs we are given advice to help us in our daily lives. An
important theme in proverbs is greediness. Greediness in this generation is very
common especially in adolescents. Most teenagers these days are more concerned
about what s in the media and what the new trend is. For example the hover boards,
phone accessories, jewelry, lipsticks, makeup, etc. In our generation everyone thinks
that if you have the latest gadget or trend you are popular, but that is where everyone
misses the point. In reality none of these things matter, what really matters is your
character, morality, etc. It is more important to please Godthan your friends. In an

All a person should want and need is good character, morality, and a strong
relationship with God. This verse applies to me as a 7th grader because this year
was filled with a lot of difficult situations and a lot of temptations to sin. I learned
that when I let myself in the gossip and all the middle school drama I ended up
losing because I didn t learn anything valuable and I could easily be blamed for
something I did not do. When I stopped paying attention to what was going on with
people that didn t concern me or affected my life I was better off because I was
focused more on myself than other people.
A proverb that relates to me as a seventh grader is , an inheritance gained hastily in
the beginning will not be blessed in the end . I refer to this verse throughout the
week a lot because it has a lot of meaning. For me it means that if I rush all my
homework at once and I don t check it to make sure I got anything wrong or
something that I need to change, and I just get it all done in less then 15 minutes I
m obviously going to get a bad grade because I didn t put any effort in to it. So
everyday when I m in a rush I take a moment and just due my

Greece: The Bronze Age Society in Minoan Crete
Everyday Life (1)
By Emily Gold
Entertainment and leisure activities:
Acrobatics was used in most leisure activities that the Minoan people used to keep
themselves entertained, as running and leaping supplied to success in warfare ad
hunting.
Bull leaping was the most famed and controversial of all Minoan sports, this sport
consists of an athlete who would sprint head long at a charging bull, grab the bulls
horns and jump onto its back, then the athlete would descend of the animal from its
behind. Many scholars argue whether bull leaping was a true sport in the Minoan
Society as some believe it would have been extremely dangerous to have participated
in this sport, yet other scholars state ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Honey was and is still the most famous in Crete as it was the only sweetener.
The food in the Minoan Society shows that the people in Minoan Crete relied on
their farming and crops for most of their resources in food. Also that they had a
extreme range of foods in their diet, which shows that this society was quite
prosperous.
Evidence of food in the Ancient Greek era were the Large Pithoi from a storage
room in Knossos, these large containers or pots were used to store food.
The Minoans wore artistically designed and competently made clothing, they wore
an assortment of complex clothing, the garments were sewn together much like
the way modern clothes are prepared. The Minoans sewed skirts and blouses that
were shaped to the body of the wearer. Minoan Crete had a hot climate, so layers of
clothes were not needed. The men wore only loincloths, this was small pieces of
fabric wrapped around the waist to cover the genitals which were made from a
wide range of materials, such as, leather, wool, linen and decorated with bright
colours and patterns. Many people had long aprons in the front and back with tassels
or fringes and the Minoans also had a decorative pagne or sheath that covered and
protected the penis. Early Minoan men usually did not wear any garment that covered
their chest, yet in later years of the Minoan civilization men frequently wore plain

The tagline from the popular video game series, Fallout, suggesting that although the weapons used and how wars are fought my change, conflict in human nature never changes. Is war an inevitable part of global politics? According to Immanuel Kant the answer is no. Kant would have us believe that a perpetual peace is possible. In this essay I will discuss whether war is an inevitable part of global politics, and whether or not perpetual peace is possible, with reference to the work of Immanuel Kant. The body of my essay will consist of four main sections. What is meant by war and peace, in the global political perspective, Immanuel Kant s position on the questions, and other theories and ideologies that would seek to... However JIT and Lean Combined together makes Toyota Production System. For more clarity I am discussing each theory individually first is JIT is a continuous process and it forces problem by reduced inventory. With this theory only material are called when they are needed according to the demand. The JIT is also broken down in to five segments which are JIT Partnerships which exist when a supplier and a purchaser work together with open communication and a target of removing waste and lowering down the cost. The second is JIT layouts which is designed to reduce the movements. JIT materials layout place material directly where they are needed. The third is JIT inventory which works to overcome any hurdle if arises in the way. The fourth is JIT scheduling where effective schedules are communicated both within the organization and to outside suppliers. By being able to utilize these methods Nissan would able to overhaul their process and work to create a JIT environment to utilize all methods and start saving tremendous amount of overhead and expenditures. Like other theories there are some advantages and disadvantages of JIT. Advantages include efficient replenishment systems, more free space, less manpower required to maintain the inventory levels. The disadvantages are Vulnerable to any demand fluctuation caused by reason i.e. natural disaster, dependency on their supplier is high because of the timely
  • 4. Changes From The Progressive Era Some of the most important changes from the Progressive Era were the Savers ability to expand the role of the state. Public health increased which decreased infant mortality, playgrounds were made for children to play in, and better school systems were established leading to better educations (Mintz, 2004, p.173). The reduction in infant mortality was due to cleaner living quarters and other health safeguards such as pasteurized milk that was safer to drink (Mintz, 2004, p.176). School systems today still separate childreninto their respective age groups as to not expose children to things before they are ready. Over the past few decades many scientific advancements have led to the reform of childrearing practices and the modern concept of adolescence. Three men, Charles Darwin, G. Stanley Hall and Dr. Holt [what is Dr. Holt s first name? put that], made some of the most crucial scientific advancements in this area. Studies by these three men led to child rearing advice and drastically changed the way children were viewed. After having a son of his own, Charles Darwin began to observe and study his child. He examined whether behavior was learned or instinctual. He thought that children needed to have freedom and express themselves. He helped society understand that the minds, attitudes and emotions of children need to slowly be shaped overtime, they are not naturally instilled at birth. G. Stanley Hall was another great contributor to the advancements in the child rearing reformation. In 1880, Hall conducted a set of experiments on 400 Boston school children. Results of his study showed that children have minimal basic knowledge like being able to identify body parts. In 1904, Hall wrote a book stating that children were growing up too fast and needed to be in environments away from adult temptation. He advocated for more child like environments such as schools catering to the student s ages like kindergarten, middle school and high school. He also indicated that extracurricular activities such sports were a great thing for children. [First Name] Holt had somewhat of a

Separation Of Powers In Australia Brief Background and Description of the Separation of Powers: Australia adopted its democratic system from both the Westminster and United States pre established versions. The structure of separation of powers intends to delegate the power of the state to three branches in order to minimise the abuse of this power and ensure justice through its protection. The powers pertaining to each branch are mutually exclusive to each arm of government . The legislative branch, responsible for the drafting and establishing of laws, the executive, aimed at putting the laws into force and implementing them and the judiciary designed to interpret the laws, are evidence of the exclusivity of each branches function within the Australian government. • 7. Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Pros And Cons The Israeli Palestinian conflict has been a tragedy, a clash between one very powerful, very convincing, very painful claim over this land and another no less powerful, no less convincing claim, (Oz, Amos). This conflict has been one that has lasted multiple decades and continues to be a hotbed for controversial opinions and arguments. One pressing issue in today s time is whether or not the United States should continue to support what seems like a never ending conflict. The United States Government should continue to pressure Israelinto a two state solution in order to reap the benefits, which include the creation of democratic nations in the Middle East, improved relations with bordering countries, and a decrease in violence. America ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the world becomes more industrialized and interdependent, the need for good relations in areas increases, especially with countries near Israel. The Middle East is becoming a more prominent player in global relations today, making their alliance extremely valuable to those who have it. The United States relationship with countries in the Middle East is a pressing topic as terrorism in this region grows. By pressuring Israel into creating two states, the United States can help decrease the hostile relations between them and countries Palestine is allied with, which include Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan among many other arab nations. According to Chas W. Freeman of the Middle East Policy Council, our main conflict with the arab states stems from our alliance and support of Israel while they continue to oppress Palestinians. Thus, two states would lead to a relaxation in these relations. As discussed in the paragraph above, two states would also lead to the creation of the first two democracies in the Middle East. Through shared political views, relations in the area will improve as well. Therefore, the pressure of the United States to create two states will boost relations with countries in the Middle East, which is vital in today s

At the current rate in which technology is increasing, establishments must constantly upgrade their system s security. If the national institutions fail to be vigilant to the present day cyber threats, they will become victims of terrorist cyber attacks. Our nation s government, military, scientific, commercial and entertainment sectors all operate on the same networks as our adversaries (Alexander 18). A terrorist cyber attackthat is successful, has the potential to put people at risk, by allowing sensitive information to get into the wrong hands, disrupting resources, or by altering system information in corporations, to cause harm or confusion. Since a terroristic attack is focused on causing violence or chaos, the targets at risk would be energy sources and electric grids, water and sewer systems, manufacturing, banks, transportation and communication networks (Brenner 15). When entered we definitely cooled down because our teeth were chattering. Soon, something clung to my brother s leg. We got in that situation when my mom, dad, brother, cousin and I went on a two week road trip to Seattle, Washington. During that trip, we stopped at Yellowstone Park for two days. During our stay there, we did few activities like seeing the many geysers, playing in a lake, camping, and seeing some animals. My family and I arrived in Yellowstone Park at around 3 PM. Neil was scared and acted like Dylan when he saw the leech. My dad was curious and looked in the water for leeches and he saw a bunch of them! I saw them and I was no longer confused because Dylan picked up the log right next to the bunch of leeches. Not to mention, we found a sign that says no swimming/ wading. • 10. Realism In Marcel Carne s Les Enfants Du Paradis Carolina Alvarez Les Enfants du Paradis The disillusionment of the Germans after World War 1 led to the rise of the racist Nazi Party. They put the blame on innocent Jewish people as the cause of all their problems. The Nuremburg laws were the beginning of the harsh treatment of the scapegoats. Hitler planned to invade Europe to create his perfect society of blonde haired, blue eyed Aryans. As Germany was invading France in 1940, the lives of the French would change in every aspect of their lives. In Marcel Carne s Les Enfants du Paradis, one can see that it fits into other movies that were made during the German invasion of France. It follows the restrictions that were put on by Nazi Party but also broke some rules to keep their artistic integrity and used it as a means of escapism for the people of France. Les Enfants du Paradis tells the story in a poetic realist way that was a very popular movie in 1945. Poetic realism centers around working class characters and the theme of doomed love, the blending of comedy and tragedy, the use of long shots and long takes, and narratives that function as critiques of society (Glover). The movie revolves around 4 male characters and their doomed love for a woman who choices affect everyone. Rotten Tomatoes describes it as: Even in 1945, Marcel Carne s Children of Paradise was regarded as an old fashioned film. Set in the Parisian theatrical world of the 1840s, Jacques Prevert s screenplay concerns four men in love with the

He gets kicked out of his old school and sets of on a wandering adventure throughout a bunch of cities including New York and Agerstown, Pennsylvania. As we get to know Holden, we find out that he believes that every adult in some way is corrupted in a sense. He also believes that children are the only genuine thing in the world due to their innocence and their purity. Holden warily accepts the deal. The prostitute comes to his room and tries to sexy talk Holden. Holden rejects her because he just didn t want to do it. (Salinger 107) This event reveals something very important to the reader. It reveals that Holden is still holding on to his innocence. According to the beginning of the book, Holden talks about how there weren t many girls at the football games and how he likes to stay close to them.(Salinger 5) This dialogue implies that Holden is a sexual being, but if we look back at the situation with the prostitute, we see that Holden is wary of actually having sex with the prostitute. Using the information that we have, we can infer that Holden just wants to pretend that he isn t innocent. Deep inside, Holden is still a kid. • 13. In The Wake Of The Plague Summary In the novel In the Wake of the Plague by Norman F. Cantor he researches the details etched into the minds of us Americans about the Black Plague. Cantor states that the Black Death was probably not solely due to rodent borne forms of the bubonic plague. He will begin to prove his argument by the use of biomedical context. When a human contracted this disease without antidote, there is a four out of five possibility that he will die within two weeks. The first stage is marked by flulike symptoms, normally accompanied by high fever. In the second stage, black welts and bulges appear on the victims. These bulges vary in size and are known to be extremely painful. Diarrhea and vomiting also accompany this. The third and often most fatal stage is basically pneumonia. Today if this was to outbreak once more, the patient can be treated with antibiotics during the first two stages. If the patient reaches the third stage, the antibiotics may not work. Essay on Cultural Difference between Mexicans and Americans Cultural Difference between Mexicans and Americans While Texas leader Stephen Austin initially had no contempt toward Mexicans, the Anglo American citizens in the area did. The American Texans of the 1800 s defined Mexicans as a race alien to everything that Americans held dear (De Leon 4). This sentiment would serve as the primary catalyst to the Texas secession from Mexico. When Austin began colonizing the area, he envisioned a place in which Anglo Americans and Tejanos, Mexicansliving in Texas, could live together. (Del Castillo 4) Americans believed they were the pioneers of the continent, who would inevitably spread the benefits of democracy and freedom to the lesser peoples inhabiting the region (Del Castillo 4). The prevailing attitude of white supremacy was the justification Americans used to rescue the wilderness from backwardness, indolence, and disorder (De Leon 65). Mexico in its earliest days was primarily Indian, but the infusion of both Spanish and black blood made it harder to define Mexicans. White Anglo Americans believed their contrast to white and salient kindred to black and red made Mexicans subject to treatment commensurate with the odious connotations whites attached to colors, races, and cultures dissimilar to their own (De Leon 6). Both Americans and Mexicans laid bricks creating cultural differences. America prided itself on being a nation comprised of people working for a better future. Mexicans were noted as focusing on the pleasures of life and ignoring their responsibilities. David Woodman, a promoter for a New York and Boston land company, is quoted in De Leon s They Called Them Greasers, saying Mexicans habitually succumbed to indolence and ease and indulge themselves in smoking, music, dancing, horse racing, and other sports (7). Many Americans who visited Mexico were appalled
  • 16. The Effects Of Climate Change On The North Atlantic Region... 1.0 Introduction Climate change has progressively become more problematic for coastal societies in recent history as a result of elevated greenhouse gas emission levels across the planet. Increases in sea level and sea surface temperature, as well as atmospheric pressure accretion, are unnatural effects directly linked to increased carbon dioxide (CO2) release into the atmosphere. Some of the sources of these increases have come from the greater use of coal and gasoline for industrial and transportation purposes. Hurricanes (tropical cyclones), most common in the North Atlantic region, have intensified due to this global warming . But occurrences of such events are predicted to diminish (Emanuel, 2011). Hurricanes are expected to form less frequently in the North Atlantic, but they will become more intense and powerful over time. Through the character of Eva Smith the theme of vulnerability is portrayed, and through the character of Sheila we can see how women are shown as materialistic and incompetent. Throughout the play Priestley exhibits the character of Eva Smith as an impuissant character; she is mentioned very frequently as she highlights the faults of society in 1912 due to the ill excused way she was treated, being inferior to males of her own class as well as those much wealthier than her. Then he closes it and comes back in, from these stage directions we can see how Priestlety conveys how the women are too fragile to be involved in important conversations. The fact that Sheila takes her mother out , as the men stay inside and continue to discuss, portrays that the women are not only too weak to handle the conversation but also that they are unimportant in the matter, as they did not need to stay. Unfortunately, I will not be able to give you the full run down, but I have chosen the best just for you. They have to think about the people with which they work, the consumers of their designs, the manufacturers of their designs, and the nature of the material with which they work. Also, design should not be thought of as a way in which people show mastery and control over the world. To do this is a bad idea because it can have a negative impact on a person s morals. She explains that advertisements and movies have changed to fit the trend and that she wishes the male body would look more natural rather than a sex object. In Bordo s opinion the male body should be less sexual and more natural. Although this is a plausible argument I believe that men in the ads should continue to appear as sex objects (p.312). It would allow men to strive to look like what the ads show. It will also motivate the men of our society to be fit. Bordo also believes that men get aroused by the ads of men in underwear more than women but nowadays a lot of women get aroused by half naked men. Women do actually survey (p.303) men more than she thinks they do. Women like to read or look at pictures with men toned, tan and sexy and fantasize about them. Presidential Campaign Of President Obama Political campaigns can elevate a candidate s position, or a poorly run campaign can doom that candidate s chances no matter how good the candidate is. At the end of the day all that matters is winning. That is the goal of political campaigns in a nutshell. There have been many tactics implemented when trying to run a campaign. When a surface is porous, it reduces the amount of stormwater runoff by absorbing the excess water into the pavement. It also doesn t allow for the collection of sediments or other hazardous materials because the water does not run along the asphalt. The field of sediment pollution has many innovative solutions and techniques that help reduce or eliminate the harmful effects of stormwater runoff.
