Taking a Look at the Original Sin
Original Sin In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth ex nihilo (out of nothing).
After God created the earth he made the adam out of the dust of the earth and by breathing into
his nostrils made the man living. Everything God created was Good, the man was also good but
only with woman was man complete. God created woman from the rib of Adam. Both Adam and
his partner Eve were both placed in the Garden of Edenwhere they were to live and eat from,
everything in the Garden except from the Tree of Knowledge, Good, and Evil. However one day
a serpent came to Eve and asked made her question the command of not eating from the tree. The
serpent told her that she could have knowledge and become like God if she ate from the tree. Both
Adam and Eveate from the tree and disobeyed God s divine command. God in turn cursed the
serpent as well as Adam and Eve. He told Adam that he would struggle and toil with the land and
also that he will return to the dust just as he was created from it. God had to punish Adam and Eve
for the disobedient act from where human corruption became apparent. After a British monk named
Pelagius fled Italy in 409 to escape an invasion and moved to Carthridge in North America, a clash
between this monk and Saint Augustine became inevitable. Both of these men who were teachers
and involved with the church had two completely opposite and opposing doctrines that were bound
to class. This inevitable debate finally occurred in what is known as the

William Shakespeare s Three Sets Nature And The...
The Sublime in Three Sets Nature and the Romantics are two sides of the same coin. In almost
every single poem we have read over the course of this semester we have been able to find hints
of the natural world. These instances were moments of hunger. While industrialization was tearing
landscapes up by their roots, Romantic poets were desperate to experience the euphoric sense of
sublimity they had come to associate with the highest level of consciousness. However, this sense
of sublimity is not a constant achievable state. For each poet the definition is different, and time
was altering the facets of this theory. This paper will look critically at two poets and one essayist in
an attempt to study the changing face of sublimity. For... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These pastoral farms, / Green to the very door; and wreaths of smoke / Sent up, in silence, from
among the trees! (17 19). The landscape is lush, green, and welcoming with mention to wreaths .
Smoke symbolizes warmth within these homes, as well. The reference to the word pastoral is
connotative with rural countryside based imagery. There is also a sense of innocence about this
landscape. Something the speaker is looking in on with feelings of elation. Wordsworth definition
of the word sublime is one of positivity, which is shown in the following quotation. ...felt along the
heart; / And passing even into my purer mind / With tranquil restoration: feelings too / Of
unremembered pleasure: (29 32). Wordsworth is giving us what is happening internally to our
speaker. He is lulled by this picturesque countryside into complete tranquility and peace. He is even
allowed the wonderful feeling of pleasure. For Wordsworth, the sublime is synonymous with
pleasure of the purest form. Other language that supports this claim are words such as beauteous
joy and dizzy rapture to describe the experience of looking down upon Tintern Abbey s splendor.
Further within the reading we find that the sublime is often tantamount to mystery and a deep sense
of the unknown. However, this mystery to Wordsworth is not a haunting one. The following
quotation expands on this characteristic of the sublime. Of aspect more sublime; that blessed

Case Study On Mergers And Acquisitions
CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.0Overview of Study Mergers and Acquisitions (M A) is a
precise significant strategic interchange to sustain in competitiveness within the global market
and it turns out to be one of a popular tools for corporate level strategy. M A is the amalgamation
of two corporate entities to convert into solitary legitimate entity by combining resources and
capabilities in order to attain a competitive advantage. Merger typically means reunion two
particular companies together on equivalent basic whereas acquisition ordinarily means a greater
sized corporation procuring a smaller sized corporation. The M A activity has been continuously
increased over the last 100 years and this phenomena is described by several M A waves (refer to

Violence In The Tell-Tale Heart By Edgar Allen Poe

Violence
While growing up, a child may hear their parents say violence is never the answer many times in
their lives, but sometimes the child will act out without thinking of the consequences. In The Tell
Tale Heart , Edgar Allen Poe tells a story about an unnamed narrator, who is driven to kill an old
man whose veiled eye strikes fear in the protagonist. The story is about one s view of reality as
the narrator of the story insists that he is sane while the reader knows that he is truly insane from
an outside view, away from fear the character felt. In The Tell Tale Heart Edgar Allen Poe uses the
narrator s, violent obsessive behavior to express how much his paranoia ... Show more content on

After the speaker makes his plan, he[...goes] to work ... [he] was never kinder to the old man...
[to avoid suspicion, but alas went on with his plan where he] for seven long nights, every night
at midnight would ...slowly ,very, very slowly ...undid the lantern ...so much that a single ray
fell upon the vulture eye (Poe). The paranoia of the speaker causes him to stalk the eye every
night of the week, but, the sleeping man won t open his offending eye. This behavior makes him
increase his obsession of wanting to get rid of the eye and finally causing him to conclude his
waiting game for the eye to open. Upon the eight night ... [he] could scarcely contain [his]
feelings of triumph he had decided that was the night the eye would stop bothering him forever.
After man hours if getting into the room, he had managed to ...drag him to the floor and pulled
the heavy bed over him... the heart beat on with a muffled sound... it ceased (Poe). After
successfully killing the man the narrator made ...wise precautions ... [and he] dismembered the
corpse... then took up three planks ...and deposited [it] all . Everything has been going so well
for the speaker until a group of policemen, that were called from a neighbor had heard a shriek,

Riots In Hotel Rwanda
In Hotel Rwanda, their are two cultures who do not getting along, the Hutu and Tutsi. The Hutu
feel indignation towards the Tutsi because years ago they were given special privileges and power
based on their skin tone, nose width, and height. The Hutu anger started to brew, and cause people
to bring about the idea of riots. The Hutus then started a genocide against the Tutsis because of the
special treatment they had been given years ago. Similarly, in the United States, African Americans
and Caucasians have a feud. As everyone know, before the civil war whites owned slaves, who were
mostly African American. The whites thought they were superior to the African Americans because

How Textiles And Fashion Designers Have Contributed And...
SUSTAINABILITY ESSAY Explore and comment on how textiles and fashion designers have
contributed and approached fundamental issues within ecological design. INTRODUCTION
Ecological design is the sole responsibility of innovation and the creativity of products and objects
that will sustain our society and future societies. It is critical that we change the way sustainable
design is perceived and interpreted, by beginning to develop an understanding of the history and
journey from Green design into Sustainable design as well as looking at the direction in which we
would like it to progress to. This requires a comprehension of what these initial terms mean and
how this relates to their cultural, social and economic context, all of... Show more content on

Finally, scrutinizing the information to form a conclusive paragraph reevaluating whether future
designers are considering these issues and whether a new sustainable design mentality is evolving.
GREEN, ECOLOGICAL OR SUSTAINABLE Concepts of ecological design are not necessarily
new or modern; it s the nature of re inventing and re visiting that the term is founded upon. But
there are differences between the terms, some more subtle than others. Typically Green design is
associated with getting the environmental message out there to the masses, focusing more on the
environmental issues and looking into plentiful natural resources. The key words being masses and
plentiful, instead of a less is more mentality that starts to be adopted in Ecological design this
suggests a substitution of product to fill that consumerism addiction. Green design became
particularly popular in the 1980 s, due to a foundation built by the environmental movement of the
late 60 s and 70 s, which sparked a growing awareness into environmental issues; it becomes a
pinnacle point of where Ecological design meets the mainstream. In an extract from Ecological
Design: A new critique, Pauline Madge (1997, p.44) informs us that because green encapsulated
green politics, current environmental concerns, and identified them with a specific colour, in an
unprecedented way, green design arrived with a ready made symbolism: green products, green
packaging, and numerous books

Class C Airspace
There was no need for airspace regulation in the US up until 1903 when the Wright brothers began
the modern age of air flight with a homemade aircraft. Then in 1905, the work of the Wright
brothers accumulated into the first practical aircraft that and subsequent improvements that allowed
aviation technology to develop into commercial aircraft as well as war capable planes which were
used in World War I.
Early aviation was quite dangerous as a result of no advanced navigational technologies or
automated flight systems. A great deal of human error was possible with these early aircraft.
During these times, pilots flew close enough to the ground so that they could tell where they were
going by using roadways and railways. This sort of primitive ... Show more content on

A class C airspace must have met a basic physical infrastructure of a control tower and a radar
controlled approach system. The altitude limit for class C airspace is usually 4000 ft above the
airport. The overarching shelf like space has an upper and lower region, each with a radius of 10
miles and 20 miles, respectively. Although prior authorization/permission is not needed, aircraft that
want to enter class C airspace must establish radio communication with local air traffic control
prior to entering the airspace or be faced with trespassing. Aircraft pilots wishing to enter this
area do not need special certification but a speed limit of 230 mph must be obeyed below the
altitude of 2500 feet and the immediate area surrounding class C airspace. Pilots must be willing
to follow commands from ATC including requests not to enter the airspace or to vacate the
airspace. Class C airspace designation is only to be effective while the control tower and radar
controlled approach system are active. Outside of these hours, the airspace becomes Class D or E
airspace depending on if the approach control is closed or the tower is

John Fitzgerald Kennedy Biography
John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born on May 29th, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts. He has 7
siblings, he was the second eldest child. He didn t know that one day he would be president or
changing things, or even saving the United States for that matter. But he did. He accomplished
much in his life span. For example he negotiated the nuclear test ban treaty, and initiated the
alliance for process. He also prohibited the testing of nuclear weapons underwater, outer space,
and in our atmosphere. John saved us from a nuclear war in 1962, mostly because of the
prudence of john, and the belted prudence of Khrushchev. They realized that once blood was
spilt, that it would be very hard to keep any problem under control, so the Cuban missiles did not
get fired. John also secretly agreed to take the missiles off of turkeys land, and not to invade Cuba.
But a little after that Cuba was caught lurking in the islands by Florida.... Show more content on

They were fighting in the civil rights movement. But they wanted different things, Kennedy
wanted to be united. But martin Luther king said how it s necessary to give freedom to each
race. Different topics, but in the end they wanted the same thing. John studied at many schools
such as Harvard law, Riverdale country school, Choate rosemary hall, and lastly Sanford
university/graduate school of business. He had a saying, do not pray for easy, pray to be a
stronger man. I think this quote means asking God to make you a stronger person; to face things,
then pray for things to be easy your whole life. Reasoning I m sharing about his quote is because it
influences me in a way to motivate.
John f. Kennedy was a good man, and hard working. He was president our president from 1961 to
1963. He ended up getting assassinated on November 29th, 1963 in Dallas, Texas on a motorcade.

Bad Grade Research Paper
Have you ever received a grade that did not reflect to how much work you put into the class?
This is a struggle for some students. Grades determine if students can pass on to the next grade
level and where one student is compared to the class. A student should not be measure how
intelligent he or she is because he or she made a bad grade. That student could have multiple
reasons why he or she did not do well on the test or in the class. A gradethat a student receives may
not reflect him or her and should not define him or her as a good or bad student. Also, some
students are so worried about getting a good grade they stress out over the test and do not focus on
learning the class material.
The grade system has been around for centuries and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students lives should not be dependent of a grade over a test. There are many reasons why a
student can be doing bad in a class but this should not make them a bad or good person. In
addition, students should not be measured on how intelligent by a grading scale because many
factors play in as to why they got the bad grade. Specifically, someone having a mental blockage
during a test. Teacher s needs to acknowledge students and help out as much as they can to get
this student the grade he or she deserves. The grading system will probably not change anytime
soon that s why teachers and parents need to be more aware and affected when kids work hard but

Onset of Breast Cancer
Onset of breast cancer:
Introduction:
DNA makeup our gene in each cell which control our functions. Gene which increases cell division
are called oncogene, others which slow down cell division, or cell die at right time are called tumor
suppressor gene.Certain changes or mutation in DNA turn on oncogene or turn off tumor
suppressor gene to cause normal breast cell to become cancerous.the stem cell mutation are the
actual root of cancer which causes cancer again and again we use different strategies to diagnose the
presence of these kind of mutation including different scans including CT
scan,ultrasonography,FED.
Inherited gene mutations
Certain genes that were mutated in parent can dramatically increase the risk of developing certain
cancer that run in families. For example BRCA gene are tumor suppressor gene a mutation that
can occur in one of these gene in parents cause tumor in progeny, as it no longer suppresses
abnormal growth and causes cancerous cell proliferation. (Bahcall O et al.,2013)
Genetic testing can diagnose women having inherited mutated gene BRCA1 or BRCA2 tumor
suppressor gene. These women can take step to prevent its proliferation. (Goodwin et al.,2009)
Mostly high penetrance mutation can cause the development of cancer although many women do
not develop the cancer due to high penetrance but can be caused by low penetrance or gene
variation causes cancer development. Each of these may have a small individual effect on cancer
development, but the overall

The Final Group Project Required Dedication
The final group project required dedication, in depth analysis and creativity regarding the video
clips and creating the paper. The paper will consist of video clips from Parks and Recreation, The
Big Bang Theory, and House. Each clip covers material or theories relating to organizational
behavior. Each clip covers a different concept and the paper will describe in detail how each
concept relates to the video being mentioned.
During the first clip chosen from the Big Bang Theory, it showed four friends (Sheldon, Leonard,
Howard, and Raj) trying to decide on where to go for dinner and a movie. They are trying to find
a location that satisfies their needs for dinner, concession stand food, and a reasonable start time
for the movie. They begin to have difficulties mostly due to one particular member of the group
and the criteria he has set. Right away there is trouble with the main characters that perfectly
represents FIRO B theory. This theory examines differences in how people relate to one another
based on their needs to express and receive feelings of inclusion, control, and affection (citation).
During the scene, one character Sheldon has specific criteria that needs to be met, so that he can
attend the movie. Other members of the group are trying to cater to him by only considering
Sheldon Approved restaurants, but they are not finding common ground. FIRO B theory says that
effective groups are ones that have similar needs; the group in the Big Bang Theory is very

Mayan Social Status
As far back as society goes, people have been placed in different social categories. Regardless of
what standing a person has in society, their status will affect their lives on a daily basis and on a
larger scale. It is clear that social status is an ever present and universal social determinate, since
differences between classes are as apparent in ancient civilizations as they are in contemporary
society. Evidence of status in ancient communities, such as the Maya, has been preserved for
centuries and is still detectable through the study of archaeology. The Mayans were people with a
culture deeply rooted in living within a stratified society, where the gap between the elite and the
poor was prominent both in life and death (Somerville et... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only does the presence of the vessel indicate some degree of wealth, but often they are
decorated and adorned with depictions of life in the Maya elite court (Jackson 2009:71). These
paintings provide iconographic evidence of social hierarchy through their interpretations of the
court through scenes and text (Jackson 2009:71). Due to the relatively small size of the vessels,
they are more readily available than large material aspects of culture, such as temples. As such, a
greater number of them exist for archaeologists to examine in terms of how they illustrate status
(Jackson 2009:72). The vessels, such as pots and containers, are often embellished with
elaborate drawings of what archaeologists believe to be an idealized concept of Maya court,
rather than actual day to day court activity (Jackson 2009:73). The depiction of idealism on the
vessels reveals trends of the values that were important in their eyes. It is clear from the paintings
on the vessels that status was a prominent aspect of Mayan life. Rulers were often shown
surrounded by others, and placed physically higher on the vessel to signify importance (Jackson
2009:74). Other subtle indications of status on the vessels became very clear as well: more
important figures were placed to the right of the authority figure, a gaze from one figure to another
signified a relationship of some kind (usually kinship), courtly figures would

The History Of Bach And The Baroque Era
Transitioning from the Renaissance Era to Baroque Era introduced a new approach musical
styles, such as concerto and sonata. Coming from the Portuguese term barroco, or oddly shaped
pearl , the Baroque Era was heavily influenced with the Catholic Church from the early 1600s to
the 1700s. The Renaissance Era focuses on the exploration, discovery and rebirth; on the
contrary, the Baroque Era focuses on the Catholic Church and its exaggerated expressions. The
Baroque Era came out with European Western compositions that most of us are familiar with
today, such as Pachelbel s Canon and Vivaldi s Four Season. Along with the eras well known
compositions, the Baroque Era also included well known composers like Vivaldi and Handel.
However, J.S. Bach is perhaps the greatest composer of all times during the Baroque Era with
famous pieces such as Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, Mass in B Minor and Brandenburg
Concerto. J.S. Bach, short for Johann Sebastian Bach, is a prominent composer during the Baroque
Era. Bach was born in Eisenach, Thuringia, Germany on March 31, 1685. He is the youngest son of
his parents, Johann Ambrosius Bach and Elizabeth Lammerhirt Bach. Because he came from seven
generations of musicians, it was not unusual that Bach became a musician and composer himself. In
fact, Bach s father and brother are both church organist. Although Bach is well known for his organ
skills, his musical career did not start with an organ. In fact, it started with violin lessons with

Women in the harem were considerably different than the low and middle class women (common

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Character Analysis
When Stieg Larsson s novel, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, hit the bookshelves, it was swiftly
heralded as one of Sweden s finest, and most popular crime novels to date. Published posthumously
after Larsson s death, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is an intricately designed and darkly ironic
piece of crime fiction. It must be emphasized, however, that it is indeed a work of Scandinavian
crime fiction, and is thereby subject to the clichГ©s and to the common characteristics of other
Scandinavian crime fiction novels. The best way to chart these similarities is through the guidance
of Bo Tao Michäels 10 Commandments of Scandinavian Crime Fiction. To best articulate this
point, this thesis will focus on one of the ten commandments the equality between genders and will
analyze its function within The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. One will find that Larsson s novelnot
only fits seamlessly with the parameters of Michäels commandments, but that it also expands one

antiquated sphere of domesticity. This motif plays a prominent role in the characterizations of
several characters in the novel; most significantly with the protagonists, Mikael Blomkvist and

protagonist of the novel, boldly defies numerous female stereotypes. There is a certain level of

Comparing God And God In Greek Mythology
I had taken a particular liking to Greek mythology when I read a certain book series. I knew very
well about god at the time so despite me liking Greek mythology, actually believing it never
crossed my mind. I will explain the overall difference between Gods sovereignty and that of Greek
fatalism.
If you so happen to be a Christian that knows about Greek mythology, then one thing stands out the
most; there is only one god in Christianity besides there are several gods in Greek mythology.
Zeus (the highest and most powerful god) created all gods in Greek mythology, as in our god
that has been here since the beginning of time. Zeus is not a loving god. Zeus is more of a
figure that plays with puppets in this huge play room, he s more of an image of power and
greatness that wished to be worshiped at all times. Our God is a loving God that created
everything and controls everything. He has an image of power and love though has a personal
relationship with his followers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

powerful gods among most other gods. All of these gods can sometimes have children called
demigods which is a being that is half God half Man. God only has one child, Jesus. Since Zeus
could be defeated, he is not as almighty and powerful as God. God granted us the ability of free
will while as Zeus and all other Gods can manipulate, control and destroy its people at will. When
you die you would go the three realms, with God there is only heaven or

Hypertension is referred to as high blood pressure. Hypertension is frequently asymptomatic in the
early stages, and the initial signs are often vague and nonspecific. They include fatigue, malaise, and

key sign of hypertension. Because of the insidious onset and mild signs, hypertension is often
undiagnosed until complications arise and has been called the silent killer. The complications are
also asymptomatic until they are well advanced.
Pathophysiology
Hypertension is one of the most common chronic health problems seen in the primary care setting.
Hypertension in adults age 18 and older is defined as a systolic blood pressure (SBP) of greater
than 1400 mm Hg and or a diastolic blood pressure (DBP) of greater than 90 mm Hg, based on the
average of two or more properly measured seated BP readings on each of two or more office visits.
The Seventh Report of the Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and
Treatment of High Blood Pressure cites the following three categories for adults age 18 and older:
(1) prehypertension (SBP 120 to 139 mm Hg / DBP 80 to 89 mm Hg); (2) Stage 1 hypertension
(SBP 140 to 159 mm Hg / DBP 90 to 99 mm Hg); and (3) Stage 2 hypertension (SBP ≥ 160 mm
Hg / DBP ≥ 100 mm Hg) (Sisson, Rastegar, Rice, Prokopowicz, Hughes, 2010). In hypertension

Themes Of Sandra Cisneros
Readers of Sandra Cisneros are able to identify major themes throughout her work. She makes
these themes evident because growing up she experienced some of the feelings and emotions
that her characters do, which is why she is able to write with such passion. Displacement and
isolation are two themes that Cisneros makes evident in her work. Readers will see these
themes in Woman Hollering Creek, Mericans, and Eleven. In Woman Hollering Creek isolation
and displacement play a big part in the main character, Cleofilas , life. She marries a man whom
she believes she is going to be with forever, however that is not the case when her husband
decides to do things to her no husband should ever do. Cleofilas tries to pretend that everything
that happens to her is normal by faking everything she does and feels. At the ice house where
many people come to have a beer Cleofilas goes to accompany her husband because if she does
not she will be seen as a bad wife. [...] she is invited and accompanies her husband, sits mute
beside their conversation, waits and sips a beer until it grows warm, twists a napkin into a knot,
then another into a fan, one into a rose, nods her head, smiles, yawns, politely grins, laughs at the
appropriate moments [...] (Cisneros 223). She feels so out of place that instead of trying to make
conversation she would rather stay off to the side and pretend like everything is fine. Cleofilas first
longs to experience the American Dream, if there is such a thing,

Childhood Is It Me Or Are The Kids Of Today
Is it me or are the kids of today getting older younger? Envision this: an eight year old girl
watching movies containing sex scenes; a 12 year old girl wearing slutty adult styled clothing
accompanied with a face caked with makeup ;and finally a 14 year old boy having unprotected sex,
resulting in the girl becoming pregnant. What happened... to kids just being kids?
The kids of today are growing up too quickly. With today s rapidly changing society, keeping
children children for a long time can be a very difficult. Kids need to be told: once you grow up

The media can of course have good resources: education and entertainment, but at the same time
can be very toxic to kids. It can result in destructive mind sets and berserk attitudes in both boys
and girls. With the media, children are bombarded by sexual images, drugs and drinking day in
and day out. Popular children TV channels like Nickelodeon and the Disney channel have shows
where kids are kissing and showing small suggestions of sex. Kids are like sponges: they soak up
everything they see, hear and learn. Those in the media need to understand that whatever they do is
being viewed by kids all over the world and they are thinking it s okay to behave in an inappropriate
manner. The media is definitely one of the most dominant encouragements to the fast maturity seen
in the children of today.
It is no surprise that with the whole new world of technology young children nowadays are
becoming more and more obsessive in this realm, both at school and at home. Due to the
massive influence of technology, children are learning more, forcing them to grow up quickly

High School And Social Hierarchy
In high school, social hierarchy is typically determined by perceived popularity. Adolescents
experience many emotional, biological and cognitive changes during this time. Teenagers
struggle with their identity as social acceptance becomes an increasingly important factor in
their lives. Cliques are formed in high school as a representation of a small group of people with
common interests. Cliques are joined mostly by girls because it gives them a sense of security
and confidence they may otherwise lack, but boys are known to join cliques as well. Cliques
provide adolescents with a strong sense of self worth and can in fact help one grow as an
individual, sharing common interests and values. Adolescents who appear with high social power
tend to have similar qualities and group together. Those who are less popular tend to isolate
themselves more while befriending others with a similarly low social status. Often times, those
who are socially dominant are generally more influential, daring, physically attractive and socially
appropriate. (Closson 3) Cliques can foster community in a group of close knit individuals.
Different types of cliques provide adolescents with an opportunity to group together with those with
similar interests. They allow teenagers to satisfy their psychological needs such as gaining a sense
of belongingness and security. Although there are positive aspects of cliques, there is a correlation
between cliques and social pressure. Some cliquemembers deal

Essay On Summer Vacations
Mom! I am bored.
Summer vacations barely begun and children start a chorus of complaints. They are bored. They
have nothing to do. There is no excitement in their life. The days are too long, too dull or too hot
and the grumbling goes on and on. Children wait for summer holidays with a great deal of
anticipation but once vacations start they are no longer happy.
Most mothers are at a loss as to what to do and how to fill the long summer days with enough
activities and excitement to keep children occupied and out of trouble. Keeping energetic and
bored children cooped up inside homes for 10 weeks is like inviting insanity and trouble.

Rashid wants her children to develop creative and artistic abilities something she feels cannot be
done during regular school days. It is almost criminal to waste the time children have during
summer vacations. There are so many new things they can learn and experience. School books
and good grades are fine, but for today s competitive world, children need to learn new skills to be
confident and have a well rounded personality.
Other parents are of the view that summer camps bring organization and discipline in their children
s life during the holidays. I feel very frustrated when my children have breakfast at lunch time and
demand lunch in late afternoon. Routines disintegrate very quickly with bored kids. They sleep
away the morning and come alive at night like things out of a horror movie, one mother laughed.
When they have a new activity to look forward to, it is amazing how punctual and responsible they
can become.
While many mothers were unanimous in their approval of summer camps, they also agreed that
means of transportation and high fees charged by institutions were major deterrents especially when
there is more than one child to be sent. Although more and more schools, organizations and even
fast food restaurants are offering summer activities for kids, many remain out of reach of even

Mcdonald s System By George Ritzer
Reading: The McDonald s System, George Ritzer
Connection #1: Conley and Globalization As Conley discusses, globalization is a multidimensional
set of social practices interact to create and alter worldwide social exchanges and interdependencies
(555). Like McDonaldization, globalization works to change the way society interacts with other
cultures. It allows us to have the same foods in different location and to have foreign cuisine
without actually having to travel. This allows individuals to experience different cultures without
actually having to take a trip that they may not be able to afford. Through globalization and
McDonaldization, the world has become more diverse in some areas and introduced people to
topics and cultures that they once did not understand. Is McDonaldization an independent
phenomena or a continuation of another phenomena or societal change? Does it have synonyms or
is it unique? What would society look like without culture sharing and learning? Is society unique
because of culture, or culture ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ritzer discusses how the critics of McDonaldization are often overshadowed. His evidence
includes the lack of commercials explaining to people how unhealthy McDonald s is and why one
should refrain from consuming it. As discussed n lecture, there is one group or view that is
overshadowing another. The McDonald s and other positive commercials overshadow the negatives
associated with their products. Some commercials identify the negative side effects quickly,
preventing the listener from hearing them clearly. Should this be morally acceptable? If we are
only getting the positive side, how does one come to the conclusion if something is right or wrong?
How can one make a decision about something without having all the facts? Is society being

Biblical Worldview And The Christian Worldview
Biblical Worldview in Romans It is an important factor in a Christian s life to have a biblical
worldview that coincides with God s beliefs. A Christian cannot grow in their relationship with God
with just their own understanding and knowledge. They must surround their framework of beliefs
and ideas on Gods word and what he calls his children to live their life accordingly. That is why
Paul s letter to the Roman church is such as significant demonstration of the Gospel and the
Christian Worldview and we as Christian must be able to defend our worldview and apply it to our
lives.
The Romans teach about the existence and attributes of God by demonstrating that one attribute
cannot exist without the other.

For there is no teacher who taught him his wisdom for all things are from him and all knowledge
is through him. God s hope is spoken in Romans 15:13, Paul describes Gods hope as a place for
peace and comfort and through trust and the Holy Spirit there can be an overflow of hope. Finally,
in the last attribute of God demonstrated in Romans 16:26 it discusses how God is eternal and
nothing is before him.
Creation: What does Romans teach about origins? Paul s letter continues to teach in Romans
1:18 25 and 8:18 25 that in creation God revealed himself. Nevertheless, even though he showed
his power and gave people no reason for excuses, believers chose to not live by his ways. They
turned their backs to God and worship things that were not of him. They lived in lust and sexual
immoral behaviors. God designed a man and a woman to be fruitful, but they chose sinful
desires and gave into same sex relations. And those who chose to live in their wickedness and
live their life with being the only ones in control, God allowed them to live in their shamefulness.
Furthermore, Paul tries to convey to the Christian eye that we should be focused on where we are
with the lord and where we are taking the rest of the creation. Human nature and humanity were
central focus in Romans 1:26 32 and 3:9 20 at essence their human nature was on no level of good.

Successful Aging Essay
Successful aging can be defined in many different ways. Throughout the semester we have talked
about many different aspects of aging that help define the success within the process. We have
discussed the neurosciences of aging, the physical changes associated with aging, the longevity and
intelligence of individuals in relation to their life and abilities while aging, how relationships and
work can change as one ages, and how aging affects ones personality. After reading Childhood
Misfortune as a Threat to Successful Aging: Avoiding Disease and Successful Aging and Well
Being: Self Rated Compared With Rowe and Kahn, I have a better understanding of the objective
and subjective view of aging in relation to childhood factors.
Schafer and Ferraro define successful aging in a more objective way, stating that successful aging
is the avoidance of disease and disability, high cognitive and physical functioning, and engagement
within life (Schafer, M. H., Ferraro, K. F. 2011).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of disease, maintaining physical/mental functioning, and active engagement in life (Strawbridge,

definition in the previous article because it is not only taking into account the physical aspect of
aging, but the mental. In class we have talked about the importance of involvement in ones
community to successful aging. I know that from my childhood trauma that I was closed off to my

house one day she made Jem the most mad she had ever been by bad mouthing her Atticus
because he was defending Tom Robinson. She said Your father s no better than the niggers and

with Scout s baton he bought her after she insulted Atticus. Later that night when Atticus was

back by coming over and reading to her for 2 hours everyday for a month. Jem was not happy
about the idea but agreed to do it if she would not get in anymore trouble. On the last day they
had to be there to read Atticus went over there when they got home and let the kids know that
she had passed. He then told them that the fits she had and the reason she was so mean was
because she was a morphine addict and was trying to break her addiction before she died so she
could die pure. This is courage because not many people can break an addiction and she had a
mindset that she was going to and did. She also knew that in some things you rarely win but

Cultural Groups In The Algonquin People
The Algonquin people, Jesuit missionaries, and French laborers are three separate cultural groups
that are important to understand in the context of Native American and French peoples interactions.
Each group plays a significant role in the history of early French exploration and colonies in North
America. When focusing on each group, it is important to understand how each cultural group is
portrayed, and who is portraying them. The better we can understand these interactions the more we
can learn from our past. Defining each cultural group itself is complex. There were separate groups
both within Native Americans and the French people. Identifying these groups, who belongs to
them and who doesn t, is not always black and white and sometimes gray areas can occur.
Distinguishing Algonquinpeople from other Native Americans is an easy task. It can be done by
looking at the area in which they live, who they are allies with, and who they trade with. Typically,
Algonquin people lived in the New England area, they were allies with local native tribes that were
regularly fighting the Iroquoispeople, and they tended to trade and work with French colonists.
They are usually described as savages, and portrayed as uncivilized people that are extremely
strong. Father Paul Le Jeune, a Jesuit living in French North America, describes them, They are tall,
erect, strong, well proportioned, agile; and there is nothing effeminate in their appearance (Paul Le

Rockefeller Essay
Arguments have raged over Standard Oil and its business practices since its prime in the 1870 s
and 1880 s. Was it a monopoly? Did it severely impede fair competition? If it was a monopoly, did
it hurt the consumer? These are the questions that have been argued in debates about Standard Oil
and its practices. Whether Standard Oilwas a monopoly or not, the more important question to
economists is, were the practices of the Standard Oil Company efficient and did it hurt the social
wealth of the country? The government s enforcement of the Sherman Antitrust Acton Standard Oil

A warehouse was built on the Hudson and East River in New York City and Standard Oil had
their own boats to transport the oil. They were also the first to transport the oil via tank cars and

production costs of Standard Oil.
Since Standard Oil was so large, it became economical to build a plant to create products from the

Why School Violence Have Such Of An Effect On Our Society...
Speech 131 T/TH 7:30 am Section 33282
Courtney Mathis ID # 2899247
Why does school violence have such of an effect on our society today? School violence is the
intentional use of physical force or power, group or community, with the behavior likely to cause
physical or psychological harm. Most school violence start from differences between teenagers.
Like for instance about some weeks ago this girl named Amy Joyner died over this boy. The
girls that jumped her was mad that she was dating one of the girl s ex boyfriends. It was not her
fault that the boy had no more interest in them and wanted to try something new. For the
careless actions upon the situation caused one girl to die and 3 charged with attempted murder
in the second degree. School violence is just a cry for help in need of attention because of the
home training they are lacking at home. I am arguing today we look past our differences and
actually communicate and come to some sort of agreement. Let your understanding speak louder
than your misconceptions. We as people have to own up to our mistakes and not make every little
thing an issue that causes another s life at jeopardy. In the article school violence by Jaana
Juvonen she states that Bullying and more serious violent behavior are not separate problems.
Childhood bullying predicts person oriented crime in young adulthood. How do you feel when
you lose another loved one due to violence? What if you try to make a change, but it has gotten so
worse

Pros And Cons Of Gun Control Essay
Gun control has been one of the widely debated topics in the United States and all over the world.
Public safety, economics, and the language of the second amendment are parts of the gun control
argument that might be considered. Considering that the topic is whether or not the right to bear
arms should include assault rifles, the definition of an assault rifleneeds to be established. According
to the NRA, an assault rifleis, By U.S. Army definition, a selective fire rifle chambered for a
cartridge of intermediate power. If applied to any semi automatic firearm, regardless of its cosmetic
similarity to a true assault rifle, the term is incorrect. The other key term that plays a major role in
this subject is the second amendment. The second amendment states this: A well regulated Militia,
being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall
not be infringed.
Public safety tends to be one of the biggest concerns when assault rifles are included in the
discussion. There are pro gun control advocates say that countries such as Australia with no guns
have a lower rate of gun related violence. The people that are against gun control believe quite the
opposite and cite the rate of gun related violence in Chicago as their proof against it. Another
argument that supports gun control is that the injuries that are treated with our tax money, and that
this is a waste of money that could be put towards other beneficial programs for

Domino s Pizza was able to strike a balance between simplicity and enforcement of the
application process without configuring the solution in a format that would be too cumbersome
for the average store manager. With the help of Taleo, we ve been able to solve our paperwork
compliance problem without sacrificing functionality or a simple user interface. There are no more
excuses of lost paperwork and we can now quickly see which applicants are missing documents,
therefore reducing liability, says Mayer.
Passing Information Directly to Timekeeping System
With the help of Taleo, Domino s Pizza also eliminated the need for the manager to enter application
information into the point of sale system which is also used as the timekeeping system in the
stores. Taleo passes basic human resource information for each new employee directly to the
timekeeping system within two hours after hiring. Because this eliminates manual data entry and
typos, data integrity improved dramatically.
Increasing Sourcing and Talent Pipeline Visibility
Since implementing Taleo, Domino s Pizza has seen improvements in several areas within its
recruiting process. First it improved decision support. Using Taleo, managers can drill down into
sourcing data and applicant flow. With its staffing report by store, the HR team can see how many
employees each store needs and how many qualified applicants are in their talent queue. This

November Cotton Flower By Jean Toomer Analysis
Jean Toomer s poem November Cotton Flower is a curious narrative work which tells a tale of
surprise and superstition. It chronicles the story of a grim and lifeless November, where water
reserves have dried, birds are dying, and cotton plants are bare. This barren landscape is flipped
on its head, however, when a lone cotton plant defies everything people know about plant growth
and sprouts a flower. The sudden blooming of this flower serves as a potent analogy for the Harlem
Renaissance, a sudden outburst of creation, culture, and connection, that drew millions of African
Americans from across the country. The Harlem Renaissance was a massive beacon of hope for
many African Americans. The great wealth of artistic and social innovations

  • 2. Taking a Look at the Original Sin Original Sin In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth ex nihilo (out of nothing). After God created the earth he made the adam out of the dust of the earth and by breathing into his nostrils made the man living. Everything God created was Good, the man was also good but only with woman was man complete. God created woman from the rib of Adam. Both Adam and his partner Eve were both placed in the Garden of Edenwhere they were to live and eat from, everything in the Garden except from the Tree of Knowledge, Good, and Evil. However one day a serpent came to Eve and asked made her question the command of not eating from the tree. The serpent told her that she could have knowledge and become like God if she ate from the tree. Both Adam and Eveate from the tree and disobeyed God s divine command. God in turn cursed the serpent as well as Adam and Eve. He told Adam that he would struggle and toil with the land and also that he will return to the dust just as he was created from it. God had to punish Adam and Eve for the disobedient act from where human corruption became apparent. In almost every single poem we have read over the course of this semester we have been able to find hints of the natural world. These instances were moments of hunger. While industrialization was tearing landscapes up by their roots, Romantic poets were desperate to experience the euphoric sense of sublimity they had come to associate with the highest level of consciousness. However, this sense of sublimity is not a constant achievable state. For each poet the definition is different, and time was altering the facets of this theory. This paper will look critically at two poets and one essayist in an attempt to study the changing face of sublimity. For... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These pastoral farms, / Green to the very door; and wreaths of smoke / Sent up, in silence, from among the trees! (17 19). The landscape is lush, green, and welcoming with mention to wreaths . Something the speaker is looking in on with feelings of elation. Wordsworth definition of the word sublime is one of positivity, which is shown in the following quotation. ...felt along the heart; / And passing even into my purer mind / With tranquil restoration: feelings too / Of unremembered pleasure: (29 32). Wordsworth is giving us what is happening internally to our speaker. He is lulled by this picturesque countryside into complete tranquility and peace. He is even allowed the wonderful feeling of pleasure. For Wordsworth, the sublime is synonymous with pleasure of the purest form. Other language that supports this claim are words such as beauteous joy and dizzy rapture to describe the experience of looking down upon Tintern Abbey s splendor. Further within the reading we find that the sublime is often tantamount to mystery and a deep sense of the unknown. However, this mystery to Wordsworth is not a haunting one. The following quotation expands on this characteristic of the sublime. Of aspect more sublime; that blessed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

INTRODUCTION Ecological design is the sole responsibility of innovation and the creativity of products and objects that will sustain our society and future societies. It is critical that we change the way sustainable design is perceived and interpreted, by beginning to develop an understanding of the history and journey from Green design into Sustainable design as well as looking at the direction in which we would like it to progress to. GREEN, ECOLOGICAL OR SUSTAINABLE Concepts of ecological design are not necessarily new or modern; it s the nature of re inventing and re visiting that the term is founded upon. But there are differences between the terms, some more subtle than others. Typically Green design is associated with getting the environmental message out there to the masses, focusing more on the environmental issues and looking into plentiful natural resources. The key words being masses and plentiful, instead of a less is more mentality that starts to be adopted in Ecological design this suggests a substitution of product to fill that consumerism addiction. Green design became particularly popular in the 1980 s, due to a foundation built by the environmental movement of the late 60 s and 70 s, which sparked a growing awareness into environmental issues; it becomes a pinnacle point of where Ecological design meets the mainstream. In an extract from Ecological Design: A new critique, Pauline Madge (1997, p.44) informs us that because green encapsulated green politics, current environmental concerns, and identified them with a specific colour, in an unprecedented way, green design arrived with a ready made symbolism: green products, green packaging, and numerous books ... Regardless of what standing a person has in society, their status will affect their lives on a daily basis and on a larger scale. It is clear that social status is an ever present and universal social determinate, since differences between classes are as apparent in ancient civilizations as they are in contemporary society. Evidence of status in ancient communities, such as the Maya, has been preserved for centuries and is still detectable through the study of archaeology. Due to the relatively small size of the vessels, they are more readily available than large material aspects of culture, such as temples. As such, a greater number of them exist for archaeologists to examine in terms of how they illustrate status (Jackson 2009:72). The vessels, such as pots and containers, are often embellished with elaborate drawings of what archaeologists believe to be an idealized concept of Maya court, rather than actual day to day court activity (Jackson 2009:73). The depiction of idealism on the vessels reveals trends of the values that were important in their eyes. It is clear from the paintings on the vessels that status was a prominent aspect of Mayan life. Rulers were often shown surrounded by others, and placed physically higher on the vessel to signify importance (Jackson 2009:74). Coming from the Portuguese term barroco, or oddly shaped pearl , the Baroque Era was heavily influenced with the Catholic Church from the early 1600s to the 1700s. The Renaissance Era focuses on the exploration, discovery and rebirth; on the contrary, the Baroque Era focuses on the Catholic Church and its exaggerated expressions. The Baroque Era came out with European Western compositions that most of us are familiar with today, such as Pachelbel s Canon and Vivaldi s Four Season. Hypertension is frequently asymptomatic in the early stages, and the initial signs are often vague and nonspecific. They include fatigue, malaise, and sometimes morning headache. Consistently elevated blood pressure under various conditions is the key sign of hypertension. Because of the insidious onset and mild signs, hypertension is often undiagnosed until complications arise and has been called the silent killer. The complications are also asymptomatic until they are well advanced. Pathophysiology Hypertension is one of the most common chronic health problems seen in the primary care setting. Hypertension in adults age 18 and older is defined as a systolic blood pressure (SBP) of greater than 1400 mm Hg and or a diastolic blood pressure (DBP) of greater than 90 mm Hg, based on the average of two or more properly measured seated BP readings on each of two or more office visits. The media can of course have good resources: education and entertainment, but at the same time can be very toxic to kids. It can result in destructive mind sets and berserk attitudes in both boys and girls. With the media, children are bombarded by sexual images, drugs and drinking day in and day out. Popular children TV channels like Nickelodeon and the Disney channel have shows where kids are kissing and showing small suggestions of sex. Kids are like sponges: they soak up everything they see, hear and learn. Those in the media need to understand that whatever they do is being viewed by kids all over the world and they are thinking it s okay to behave in an inappropriate manner. Adolescents experience many emotional, biological and cognitive changes during this time. Teenagers struggle with their identity as social acceptance becomes an increasingly important factor in their lives. Cliques are formed in high school as a representation of a small group of people with common interests. Cliques are joined mostly by girls because it gives them a sense of security and confidence they may otherwise lack, but boys are known to join cliques as well. Cliques provide adolescents with a strong sense of self worth and can in fact help one grow as an individual, sharing common interests and values. Adolescents who appear with high social power tend to have similar qualities and group together. Those who are less popular tend to isolate themselves more while befriending others with a similarly low social status. Often times, those who are socially dominant are generally more influential, daring, physically attractive and socially appropriate. (Closson 3) Cliques can foster community in a group of close knit individuals. Different types of cliques provide adolescents with an opportunity to group together with those with similar interests. Mcdonald s System By George Ritzer Reading: The McDonald s System, George Ritzer Connection #1: Conley and Globalization As Conley discusses, globalization is a multidimensional set of social practices interact to create and alter worldwide social exchanges and interdependencies (555). Like McDonaldization, globalization works to change the way society interacts with other cultures. It allows us to have the same foods in different location and to have foreign cuisine without actually having to travel. This allows individuals to experience different cultures without actually having to take a trip that they may not be able to afford. Through globalization and McDonaldization, the world has become more diverse in some areas and introduced people to topics and cultures that they once did not understand. A Christian cannot grow in their relationship with God with just their own understanding and knowledge. That is why Paul s letter to the Roman church is such as significant demonstration of the Gospel and the Christian Worldview and we as Christian must be able to defend our worldview and apply it to our lives. Finally, in the last attribute of God demonstrated in Romans 16:26 it discusses how God is eternal and nothing is before him. Creation: What does Romans teach about origins? Paul s letter continues to teach in Romans 1:18 25 and 8:18 25 that in creation God revealed himself. Nevertheless, even though he showed his power and gave people no reason for excuses, believers chose to not live by his ways. They turned their backs to God and worship things that were not of him. They lived in lust and sexual immoral behaviors. God designed a man and a woman to be fruitful, but they chose sinful desires and gave into same sex relations. And those who chose to live in their wickedness and live their life with being the only ones in control, God allowed them to live in their shamefulness. Furthermore, Paul tries to convey to the Christian eye that we should be focused on where we are with the lord and where we are taking the rest of the creation. Throughout the semester we have talked about many different aspects of aging that help define the success within the process. We have discussed the neurosciences of aging, the physical changes associated with aging, the longevity and intelligence of individuals in relation to their life and abilities while aging, how relationships and work can change as one ages, and how aging affects ones personality. After reading Childhood Misfortune as a Threat to Successful Aging: Avoiding Disease and Successful Aging and Well Being: Self Rated Compared With Rowe and Kahn, I have a better understanding of the objective and subjective view of aging in relation to childhood factors. • 34. Cultural Groups In The Algonquin People The Algonquin people, Jesuit missionaries, and French laborers are three separate cultural groups that are important to understand in the context of Native American and French peoples interactions. Each group plays a significant role in the history of early French exploration and colonies in North America. When focusing on each group, it is important to understand how each cultural group is portrayed, and who is portraying them. The better we can understand these interactions the more we can learn from our past. Defining each cultural group itself is complex. There were separate groups both within Native Americans and the French people. Identifying these groups, who belongs to them and who doesn t, is not always black and white and sometimes gray areas can occur. Distinguishing Algonquinpeople from other Native Americans is an easy task. It can be done by looking at the area in which they live, who they are allies with, and who they trade with. Typically, Algonquin people lived in the New England area, they were allies with local native tribes that were regularly fighting the Iroquoispeople, and they tended to trade and work with French colonists. They are usually described as savages, and portrayed as uncivilized people that are extremely strong. Father Paul Le Jeune, a Jesuit living in French North America, describes them, They are tall, erect, strong, well proportioned, agile; and there is nothing effeminate in their appearance (Paul Le Jeune, America Firsthand, p. ... Speech 131 T/TH 7:30 am Section 33282 Courtney Mathis ID # 2899247 Why does school violence have such of an effect on our society today? School violence is the intentional use of physical force or power, group or community, with the behavior likely to cause physical or psychological harm. Most school violence start from differences between teenagers. Like for instance about some weeks ago this girl named Amy Joyner died over this boy. The girls that jumped her was mad that she was dating one of the girl s ex boyfriends. It was not her fault that the boy had no more interest in them and wanted to try something new. For the careless actions upon the situation caused one girl to die and 3 charged with attempted murder in the second degree. School violence is just a cry for help in need of attention because of the home training they are lacking at home. I am arguing today we look past our differences and actually communicate and come to some sort of agreement. Let your understanding speak louder than your misconceptions. We as people have to own up to our mistakes and not make every little thing an issue that causes another s life at jeopardy. In the article school violence by Jaana Juvonen she states that Bullying and more serious violent behavior are not separate problems. Childhood bullying predicts person oriented crime in young adulthood. How do you feel when you lose another loved one due to violence? What if you try to make a change, but it has gotten so worse ... Public safety, economics, and the language of the second amendment are parts of the gun control argument that might be considered. According to the NRA, an assault rifleis, By U.S. Army definition, a selective fire rifle chambered for a cartridge of intermediate power. If applied to any semi automatic firearm, regardless of its cosmetic similarity to a true assault rifle, the term is incorrect. The other key term that plays a major role in this subject is the second amendment. The second amendment states this: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Public safety tends to be one of the biggest concerns when assault rifles are included in the discussion. There are pro gun control advocates say that countries such as Australia with no guns have a lower rate of gun related violence. The people that are against gun control believe quite the opposite and cite the rate of gun related violence in Chicago as their proof against it.
