Comparing The Outrigger System And Braced Frame System
2.2 Braced Frame and Shear Walled Frame System
Rigid frame systems are not efficient for buildings taller than 30 stories, because lateral
defection due to the bending of columns causes the drift to be too large. On the other hand, steel
bracing or shear walls with or without rigid frame (brace systems and shear wall systems),
increases the total rigidity of the building and the resulting system is named as braced frame or
shear walled frame system. These systems are stiffer when compared to the rigid frame system,
and can be used for buildings over 30 stories, but mostly applicable for buildings about 50 stories
in height. However, there are examples for these systems reaching over 100 storey ... Show more

As an innovative and efficient structural system, the outrigger system comprises a central core,
including either braced frames or shear walls, with horizontal outrigger trusses or girders
connecting the core to the external columns. Furthermore, in most cases, the external columns are
interconnected by exterior belt girder. If the building is subjected to the horizontal loading, the
rotation of the core is prevented by the column restrained outriggers. The outriggers and belt girder
should be at least one and often two stories deep to realize adequate stiffness. Thus, they are
generally positioned at plant levels to reduce the obstruction they create.
Depending upon the number of levels of outriggers and their stiffness, the perimeter columns of an
outrigger structure perform a composite behavior with the core. When compared to single storey
outrigger structures, multi storey outriggers have better lateral resistance, and thus efficiency in the
structural behavior. However, each extra outrigger storey enhances the lateral stiffness, but by a
smaller amount than the previous

A Summary Of Vildar s Fight
Vildar flexed his fingers and put his elbow on the table. Tiber Grist shrugged and followed suit.
Arm wrestling. That s what the game is. Thought Holt. Probably not the best move Vildar had
made, especially drunk and against an opponent who was bigger and stronger than him. But
strength was not always the winner in these things, a little cunning always helped, and that s what
Holt hoped to adopt.
They took their positions, hands interlocking. Tiber Grist grinned crookedly at his challenger.
Immediately Vildar s arm was driven back. Holt watched as his muscles locked taking the strain.
Veins in his arms and temples bulged, threatening to burst as he tried to force the strongerGnomes
arm back. But it was no use, sweat beaded his forehead and eyes popping with the ... Show more

He cracked his knuckles. Very well, but I warn you, I am not very good at this.
Tiber Grist eyed him, deciding whether to believe him or not.
Holt had lied. In fact, he was very good at this. Eldon and himself often arm wrestled for fun, and
like Grist, Eldon was bigger and stronger than him.
But he did not need to win. For this plan to work. He needed to lose.
He took the strain, forcing the other Gnomes arm backwards. He might mean to lose the game but
it did not mean he was going to make it easy for Grist.
Holt continued to force the arm back. A look of startled surprise crossed Tiber Grist s features. A
bead of sweat ran down his face and dripped off the nose ring.
Slowly Holt released the pressure. Not enough to cause suspicion, just enough to let Grist think he
was gaining the upper hand.
Around them the other Gnome s bayed and chanted, slapping their hands and beer jugs on the
wooden benches.
Gradually Grist wrestled Holt s arm back until it was inches above the tabletop. Holt held it there,
showing the strain on his face. Then he let it go. Tiber Grist grinned in triumph. Well done, for a
moment there I thought you had me.
Lucky, I guess, Holt

Luther s Attitudes To Political Violence And Authority
This essay will indicate the reasons that determine Luther s attitude to political violence and
authority by quoting from his writings. Luther would be placed at the lower left, as his attitude to
political authority is Christ against culture , and especially Rejectionist (A), whereas his attitude to
political violence is Realism (10) Luther s attitude to political authority is quite similar to Augustine
s one, which stated that all authority is derived from God (p.168). He also mentioned, They (as
humans) should obey God s commands, not because they appear just, but simply because they are
God s commands (p.162). He also indicated that God is omnipotent, omniscient and transcendent
outside space and time, and humans cannot do anything

The Differences Between The Native Taiwanese And...
When I was younger, I didn t quite understand the differences between the Native Taiwanese and
Mainlander in Taiwan, where Mainlander referred to Chinese migrants during or after the period
of the surrender of Imperial Japan, and World War II. It wasn t until much later that I understood
why Taiwanese divided among themselves. I was told that my mother s side of family have
experienced the White Terror, which refers to the entire period from 1947 to 1987, during this
period, many of the family lands was confiscated by the Kuomintang, the Chinese nationalist party.
It was also during the White Terror period that Mandarin Chinese languagewas established as the
official language of Taiwan, and the other native language mainly Taiwanese was considered as
taboo and forbidden. The language differences are especially obvious between Northern and
Southern of Taiwan, while my mother s side of the family resident in the South, as I grow up in the
North, I speak mainly Mandarin Chinese, and I can understand but not quite fluent in Taiwanese.
My grandfather on my father s side was a general of the Chinese military that defeated the
Nationalists and declaring the People s Republic of China then retreat to Taiwan in 1949. He
stayed in the military and retired at an older age. As for my mother s side of the family whom
has resided in Taiwan during and likely before the period between 1895 and 1945, while Taiwan
was under Japanese rule and was a dependency of the Empire of Japan. They

Macbeth Opening Scene Analysis
The opening scene of macbeth is a dark atmosphere, it is set in a dessert place, in the middle of a
storm. In act one scene one the only characters that seem to appear in this scene are the three
witches. The witches also seem to set the mood for the play. The atmosphere in the first act
influences the whole play because it seems as dark and evil.
Knowing things like witchcraft and supernatural adds to our understanding of the play that there is
a supernatural darkness. It also is giving us an image of things that are unnatural that are accuring
in the play. Also gives us the knowledge that the process of kingship is not natural.
In the beginning macbeth is is seen as a nobleman, who is a fearless warrior. However the same
man seems to want to kill people and overthrow the king. This character must hide his true thoughts
from her beloved ones and peers.
Macbeth and lady macbeth both change throughout the course of the play. At the beginning of
the play macbeth is is a respected man who is loyal to the king. Later after he meets the three
witches he changes because of the prophecy that the witches tell him about. He is to kill the king
be then he he whimps out so lady macbeth kills the king. Because of macbeth whimping out is
now feels guilt. By the end of the play he has become evil and is destined for the power. He is
then killed at the end of the play. Lady macbeth at the beginning she is evil, cruel, heartless, and a
cold dark woman. However towards the end of the

Analysis of Robert FrostВґs Poem Out, Out Essay
Robert Frost s poem Out, Out is about a boy who has his arm sawed off during work and asks his
sister not to let the doctor amputate his arm, he then realizes he s lost too much blood and then
dies while doctors try to save him. After his death everyone else continues on with their work and
lives. Frost uses a lot of end stopped lines, enjambment, repetition and personification among others
in his lines of poetry.
Frost uses a lot of end stopped lines and enjambment in the lines of his poem. Both have an effect
on the way the poem is read by the readers. The lines which use end stops can be found throughout
the beginnings of the poem.

Nature is calm and serene, while this boy s life has changed in a matter of seconds from living to
dead in a tragic event. The end stopped lines and enjambments are used very well in the remainder
of the poem.
Frost s poem is interesting because he uses personification and repetition in describing the saw,
the saw is given life; it snarled and rattled . Frost talks about the saw as though it were a person
when as it ran light, or had to bear a load like the saw can feel the weight of its work. The narrator
depicts the scene as the saw and the boy interacting in a human way. As if to prove saws know
what supper meant, / Leaped out at the boy s hand, or seemed to leap
The boy and the saw connect during the boys excitement over dinner and Frost makes it seem as
though the saw was also excited leading to them both jumping. The saw is personified again as it
is said to have leaped to meet the hand and then cut it off. The following line continues the same
way. Neither refused the meeting. But the hand! The saw is brought to life and it becomes the
antagonist in the poem as it chops off the boy s hand and not once does Frost blame the boy in the
accident. After the hand is chopped off the saw is not mentioned again as the poem continues with
the boy.
Frost has a compelling way of writing the poem, in the beginnings of the poem there is a lot of
metaphors and descriptions of the setting and the saw and the boy. Once the boy is injured

The Art Style Of Art Nouveau, By Alphonse Mucha
Art Nouveau is a simplistic art style that was first introduced in 1880 in France, it then eventually
was driven across Europe. The style was the most popular art style at that time, which meant it was
produced in many different contexts and affected other art styles such as interior design,
architecture, households and jewellery making it a very flexible style. The style was flowing and
elegant with a whiplash effect, that resembled stems and blossoms of plants. This was aimed to
modernise design and escape the old historical style witch artists started to get tired off, this is
because their artwork started to almost resemble a photocopy, leading them to want something new
and unique. In the book art nouveauin fin de siГЁcle France Debra... Show more content on

resembling thick vines and doors becoming curvy, rather then simple rectangle. Many materials
where used such as glass, iron and ceramics and they contained features such as curved glass,
asymmetrical shapes, mosaics and arches. A good example of this type of architecture is the

Voter Registration Day
The two events I would not attend would be the National voter registration (9/17/15) and The
U.S.M.C. Recruiting day (10/21/15). While these are wonderful events to experience, these
simply don t peak any interests of mine. The United States Marine Corp is a fine military branch
to serve in; Having a brother who served four years in that very branch. But as someone who has
an established career, and currently is attending college to make a career change, Joining the
armed services would be counterproductive. As far as voter registration day, Which is an excellent
idea, getting people registered to vote is something I completely support. As a registered voter,
there is no need for myself to attend, but would be interested in volunteering to

Civil Service Research Paper
I believe that high school graduates should not be required a year of service before going to
college. Some students, by choice, will join the military or civil services; others may already be
set on a career they want to achieve. For example if someone wants to be a doctor, they already
have many years of school ahead of them. But, if students are not attending collegeimmediatley
following high school, they should be required a year of service. As a result, students are able to
learn valuable life lessons and give themselves a better life. For example they learn to be flexible,
make safe decisions, and self direct themselves. Students that are already set on going to college,
however, should not need to serve due to the commitment it takes.... Show more content on

Making a difference is a marathon, not a sprint, (gogoverment.org). Likewise, going into a civil
service job is not going to make you a ton of money like you may believe. Being in the civil service
or military takes for a lot of patience.
Joining the military or civil services after graduating can also be a very beneficial thing and
provides valuable life skills to students. It is important for students to serve there country and get
a feel for what the military is like. For example the military teaches you to be a leader and how to
work as a team, including all sorts of different personalities. Additionally, in most military branches
you can receive education. Now you can serve, and get an education. However, this would force
you to serve longer than one year.
In conclusion, I believe that you should not have to complete a civil service for a year after
graduating high school. In my opinion, it is good to get through college first so you can get a
career, then if you wish to serve for a year you have something to fall back on. There is many
benefits of joining the military, but there are many risks too. Not being in the military would allow
you to focus on your college studies and your career that lies

Autonomic Nervous System
The two divisions of the autonomic nervous system (ANS), sympathetic (SNS) and parasympathetic
(PNS), function in a complementary and integrated manner to maintain homeostasis. The output of
the autonomic nervous system is quick in comparison to the endocrine system functions. In most
cases, these systems have opposite effects, where one initiates a physiological response and the
other inhibits. The nerves of this system regulate vital internal functions which are generally
performed without conscious control (Khan Academy, 2014).
The output of the ANS effects smooth, cardiac muscle and glandular tissue (Betts et al, 2013)
The sympathetic division is associated with the fight or flight response, dominating in stressful
situations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The synapse at the axon terminal of the postganglionic neuron and the target effector cell (in the
form of muscle or gland) uses epinephrine/norepinephrine (adrenaline/noradrenaline) (AK Lectures,
2014)
The parasympathetic division however, is concerned with rest and digest responses and when
active, reverses the effects of the SNS. The PNS system increases blood flow to digestive organs
and excretory system and decreases the blood flow to skeletal tissue (an opposite effect to the SNS)
(AK Lectures, 2014) Salivary secretion is increased and gastric motility is stimulated to facilitate
digestion (McCorry, 2007). The PNS either originates at the start of the spinal cord or at the end
(Khan Academy, 2014). The preganglionic neuron is of long structure and uses acetylcholine to
transmit signals to the shorter postganglionic neuron. The postganglionic neuron continues to use
acetylcholine to transmit to the target effector cell (AK Lectures, 2014)

Effectiveness Of A Patient Applied 10 % Potassium Nitrate
REVIEW OF LITERATURE
Reinhart, T. C., Killoy, W. J., Love, J., Overman, P. R., Sakumura, J. S. (1990)
This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a patient applied 10% potassium nitrate glycerine
based gel in decreasing dentinal sensitivity on teeth with exposed dentin apical to the
cementoenamel junction. The patients were divided into 3 treatment groups: group 1 was treated
with a glycerine based 10% potassium nitrate gel; group 2 was treated with a glycerine gel without
potassium nitrate; and group 3 received no gel and no treatment (control). Following brushing
and flossing, groups 1 and 2 applied the gel to the test teeth using custom made soft acrylic trays,
for a period of 5 min/ day for 4 weeks. Patient responses to cold water stimuli were measured at
baseline (week 0), then at I , 2 , 3 and 4 week intervals. Group 1 patients showed a significant
decrease in sensitivity to cold at week 2 only. The group 2 patients showed a significant decrease
in sensitivity to cold after 3 and 4 weeks. A statistically significant decrease in sensitivity was
noted between group 2 and group 3 patients at week 3, the most sustained decrease in sensitivity to
cold was found on teeth treated with plain glycerine.

The aim of the study was to investigate the reproducibility of commonly used measurement
protocols for dentine hypersensitivity on single or multiple teeth. In addition, newly developed

The Eight Heroes in The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan
In the novel The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan, four Chinese mother daughter pairs, each with her
own unique story, have deep connections with each other. At the beginning of the novel they each
seem like ordinary women, but as the novel progresses, it becomes clear that these women are
more than just mothers, daughters, or wives; they can also be considered heroes according to
Joseph Campbell. Joseph Campbell says a herois someone who undergoes a departure, where the
person is confronted with a problem that they must overcome; a fulfillment, where the person
finally overcomes the problem; and a return, where the person passes on what they gain and learn
from the experiences in the form of a life giving elixir (Campbell). This life giving... Show more

Standardized Testing In America
Standardized Testing: Declining the Education in America.
Every year, millions of students take long standardized tests, but do they improve the education of
American students? In 2000, the US ranked 18th in mathematics worldwide. By 2012, the US
dropped to 27th, with similar results in the remaining subjects. After passing the No Child Left
Behind Act of 2001, the lives of thousands were academically changed. NCLB s Mission Statement

available for teaching and the increased amount of higher order thinking involved in each test. As
Benjamin Franklin wisely stated, Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I

most defiantly have more success being taught in an environment conducive to long term memory.
This may be possible for some counties, but the tests have constantly increased the material and

Introduction
This paper intends to discuss the role of epistemology in research while defining knowledge as fact
or fiction in society which constantly changes. The writer intends to utilize various methods of
acquiring knowledge in both the natural tangible and intangible world composition. The end result
may offer the reader a better understanding of the influences and formulation of a management
research problem of knowledge itself.
Epistemology and Knowledge
What is knowledge? Easterby Smith et al. (2012, p. 21) note that epistemology is inquiring via
various methods regarding the composition of nature in both physical and social worlds.
Knowledge itself can be described on what insight is gained from the situation regardless if the ...

How we know what we know
How do we know what we know? The upbringing of an individual, experiences, communication,
research, observation, feedback and awareness are all particulars of how knowledge is gained and
transferred. It is of note that every individual is unique therefore fact and fiction will be perceived
in various manners. Theories and philosophies often are taken into consideration when management
research formulation or problems occur. Van Gich (2002) compares the epistemology disciplines in
science as modern physics versus social sciences. Both of these methods have evolved with our ever
changing society. Van Gich (2002, p. 201) mentions that Scientists believe knowledge should be
considered objectively without being persuaded by any extenuating circumstances such as people
or place whereas philosophers tend to argue that knowledge should be subjective to perception and
thought analysis. Easterby Smith et al. (2012) note there has been a long standing tension in the
conduction of management research. Should management research lead to an epistemological
stance? The writer believes that every situation is unique applying objective concepts in certain
circumstances and subjective concepts in others. Both concepts may be utilized in certain cases.
Conclusion
It is quite possible to gain knowledge from both tangible and intangible characteristics of our every
changing society today. The variables depend on the intended outcome. Epistemology in

The Five Competitive Forces That Shape Strategy
Central Theme In the article, The Five Competitive Forces that Shape Strategy, Michael Porter
argues that the five forces are an important element for managers and investors in the business
industry. Porter stated that it is important to understand the competitive forces, and their underlying
causes which many companies will use to determine if they will gain profitor not (Porter 80).
Companies determine their profitability of the industry through the level of the force that they
face. For instance, when the forces are favorable, most companies will be profitable. Porter gives
a detail description of the five forces and explains the importance of each force. The five forces
are the threats of new entrants, the power of the buyers, the power of the suppliers, the threats of
substitute for products or services, and the rivalry among existing competitors. Porter believes that
a company strategist who understands the competition extends well beyond existing rivals will
detect wider competitive threats and be better equipped to address them (Porter 93). In other words,
when strategists understand the different forces it will benefit them to make better decisions and to

Andrea Doria Research Paper
The Italian luxury liner Andrea Doria and the Swedish American ship Stockholm collided on the
night of July 25th, 1956. Prior to their collision, a study in 1948 had been done, on the busyness
of the New York harbor, and it recommended that ships traveling east go 20 miles south of the
Nantucket lightship. Had these ships heeded this advice a collision might never have occurred.
The Andrea Doria, captained by Piero Calamai, was headed towards New York harbor with 1,134
passengers on board. On this same night, the Swedish American liner Stockholm was leaving the
harbor of New York. Both the Andrea Doria and the Stockholm, relying on their radars, saw the
other s ship about 17 miles out, but both Calamai and the watch officer on the Stockholm

Turnover Rate in Corrections
The Nation Wide Dilemma in Corrections CJ 2500: CORRECTIONS Professor November 04, 2012
Running Head: Turnover Rate in Corrections Abstract Throughout the years, there has been one
major dilemma that continues to hassle the administration whose sole purpose is to provide
institutional sanctions, treatment programs, and services for managing criminal offenders. This
dilemma is the high turnover rate of the Corrections Officers, whom agencies nation wide are
losing at an extremely high rate. Recent statistics indicate that nearly half of all Corrections
Academy graduates will have left their agency within a two year period ( State questions high,
2004). This high turnover rate is causing a staff... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Officers are being ordered in on their off days or holidays, forced to work mandatory overtime, a
higher inmate to Correctional Officer ratio, as well as experienced Officers having to work with
an extensive amount of rookie or inexperienced Correctional Officers. This combining of
experienced officers with new hires, who have not received any type of prior training, raises the
stress level during dangerous interactions with inmates, as well lowering the morale of the
Officers who remain and attempt to complete their careers with a specific agency. This may be
due to long term employees realizing that many of the new hires are using their time as a
Correctional Officer to gain experience, or as a stepping stone to eventually become a road or
patrol Officer, which may involve more experienced Officers not spending the time necessary to
assist, or provide On the job training to the new hires. Additional causes of stress may include
the threat of inmate violence, actual inmate violence, inmate demands and manipulations,
problems with co workers, as well as having a poor public image. For example, Between 1990
and 1995, the number of attacks on correctional officers in State and Federal prisons jumped by
nearly one third, from 10,731 to 14,165 (Lommel, 2004). An additional stress added to a
Correctional Officers life is being able to balance and separate work from their personal
relationships. Workdays at a correctional facility

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer s Parole Problems
Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer is making a complaint about his parole division being understaffed

The Catcher in the Rye and 6 Degrees of Separation Essay
The human condition is as far from reason and judgement as anything can be, it is what we have
tried to explain for centuries and it is still a confusing maze we attempt and pretend to understand.
Holden from The Catcher in the Rye and Paul from Six degrees of
Separations help to explore the workings of the human condition, both boys are conflicted with
their lives and have difficulty fitting into their society. However these two texts do put the boys in
different positions in life, Holden has what Paul desires but it does not give him
the love and care he unknowingly needs. Paul takes on roles that disguise his own traits and turns
him into what he believes to be a person nobody can say no to. When he takes on these roles, he ...

about growing up and living by society s rules, and
to disengage from meaningful human connection. The realease of this book created a wave of
disagreement and contreversy but many saw this book as a symbol of cultural oppression. The
movie six degrees of separation also explored the consequence of

Long Lost Family
Several seasons back, there was a program on one of the cable television stations entitled Long
Lost Family . The premise of the program was to reunite family members who had been separated
for many years, sometimes decades, to make a family whole again. Sometimes the story was about
parents and children lost through adoption or custody situations. Most frequently, it was about
siblings who, because of family feuds or other dysfunctions, had been apart for many years.
Sometimes other siblings had polarized around the two who were separated, causing increased
tensions and rifts. Interestingly, many times the true cause of the rift as lost to time and memory.
Frequently, it came down to miscommunication and pride, a form of standing ground to not appear
weak or guilty. Through the intercession of the host of the program, the separated siblings would
communicate, have an opportunity to explain or make amends, and then reunite. At the end of the
program, the producers would post an update on how well the reunion and rebuilding of family
ties was progressing. It was always clear that rebuilding of the family ties would take time and
effort on both sides.
The analogy of disconnected family members is used frequently in the discussion of the centuries
long rift between Catholics and Jews. It is apt. For, in the 50 years since the promulgation of
Nostra Aetate by Pope Paul VI, Catholics and Jews have come far in healing 2,000 years of
miscommunication, false pride,

Persuasive Letter To Macbeth
Dear Thane of Cawdor, I forsake you and your cruel intentions as a traitor to the crown. Your
actions correlate with treason and must be held accountable in a court of law. Moreover, You must
reveal your wrongdoing and take responsibility for your bloodthirsty ambition. As vile as your
heart s aspiration is, betraying your own people is an unacceptable method to achieve success. How
could you slaughter the very man who dines in your castle and promotes you? Wisdom often tends
to distinguish men with hopeful determination from fools with fallacious ambition. Shall I declare
you a fool? Nevertheless, Macbeth, admit your exploits to the people and accept your punishment.
Destiny is never guaranteed, and fate cannot justify senseless actions.

Domestic Violence Seminar
On Thursday night I went to the Shatter the Silence, Stop the Violence seminar by the Sexual
Assault and Violence Education (SAVE) Committee. During the seminar I learned about several
parts of dating and domestic violence, as well as healthy, unhealthy, and abusive relationships. I was
familiar with many of these topics, but hadn t gone so far in depth with them before.
First of all, dating violence and domestic violence are completely different things. Dating violence
is when physical violence is used against or between one s significant other and oneself.
Meanwhile, domestic violence is violence against or between someone one lives with and
oneself. For example, dating violence is happening if one s boyfriend or girlfriend were to slap
one s face without consent. Domestic violence can occur between parents and children, husbands
and wives, or even roommates. So if I were to slap my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone had to assess the same statements, and circle either comfortable or not comfortable. Just
about every response was divided between comfortable and not comfortable, except for your partner

different people are comfortable or uncomfortable with different things, depending on how they
were raised and past dating experience. Thus, the lists of signs of healthy and unhealthy
relationships will not be completely accurate for different relationships.
I haven t had great experiences dating. While I won t go into details here, I feel I tend to be more
sensitive in my answers to the statements about what I am comfortable with in a relationship. Even
with that past relationship being done for over a year now, it still makes it so I m not interested in

Throughout history invaders and or conquerors from all over the world had terrorized small
villages, towns, cities, and slaughtered innocent bystanders regardless of age. These invaders
forced themselves into a new land and called it their new home and began a new settlement.
Whatever their agendas were, they were mostly for the same reason: land and its resources and
simply the opportunity to expand their influence. Many countries had suffered this type of

Edward The Elder Research Paper
Very little is known about Edward the Elder s childhood. His exact birth is unknown, but some
say it was around 871 A.D. in Wessex. He was the son of King Alfred the Great and Ealhswith of
Mercia. He was educated at court and his father trained him to be a warrior. Edward the Elder was
married 3 times and had fourteen children.
Edward the Elder became King in 899 A.D. when his father King Alfred died. He was crowned
King on June 8, 900 A.D. He reigned as King from 900 A.D. to 924 A.D. After King Alfred s
death, a rebellion broke out against Edward the Elder. His cousin Aethelwold did not support
Edward as King and he looked to The Norse Kingdom of York as an ally. Aethelwold and his
allies attacked Mercia and Wessex and he was killed at the Battle of Holme. Edward continued to
expand his territory and made peace with the north by 909 A.D. Along with Mercia, his armies
raided the northwest the following year. The West Saxons and the Mercians defeated the Northern
Vikings. Edward the Elder then focused on conquering the Danes. Along with his sister, Lady
Aethelflaed of Mercia, Edward the Elder continued to push the boundaries of Wessex and Mercia

Character Analysis Of King Henry The V
King Henry the V, a strong young man who has shown to be a natural leader as he time and time
again captures the hearts of people by his moving speeches. There is no denying that Henry the
V is an interesting character, both fear and loved by the people around him. As much as he can
be admirable leader clearly there are some very strange aspects about his character. When
reading through the play one tends to wonder who King Henry really is. As he enters in
different scenarios and interacts with different people we see a dramatic shift in his personality.
Though on one hand it is not a bad thing, perhaps he understands what type of people want in
different situation and he seems to mold his personality accordingly. On the other hand, however,
one can look at this as an act of deceit even comparing King Henry to the modern day politicians
who are often accused of being deceitful by putting up a character for their own advantage. All in
all, it is very evident that King Henry has a multi faceted personality and he uses it to his own
advantage. Shakespeare intentionally showed this in the play to show In his speechat the wall of
Harfleur King Henry shows a very brutal side of himself when trying to invade France showing
how merciless and how plainly vicious he can be . The purpose of this paper is to show how in
the play, Henry the fifth by William Shakespeareand the film version by Kenneth Branagh both
show that Henry is that although Henry is not a good person morally speaking but is a
successful king .Who uses his many faces to deceive people but also create his empire .During
the speech at the wall of Harfleur, King Henry shows a very brutal and harsh side of his
personality very different from what he has been showing before. In the dramatic text, the speech
was delivered in blank verse to show the status of who was speaking and to set the tone of the
speech. In the film version, Branagh too interpreted this scene as a very intense moment by the way
in which showed the scene in the film. The scene was set by putting Henry in a dark alley on his
horse , when he speaks the camera was put at a low angle to make it seem as though the audience
was looking up at him. He was placed in the dark with the

Dystopian Society In 1984
Many generations have muttered in protest, debates, or in hushed voices to their children, the
people should not fear their government, the government should fear their people to the point that
its origins have become lost. Still, the tone of such a statement is not lost to any person that is
aware of war or oppressive governments. Bengal born George Orwellhad been a soldier and the
atrocities he witnessed in the Spanish Civil War would lead to his penning of the dystopian novel

The Role Of Fear In Markandaya s Nectar In A Sieve
In the story Nectar in a Sieve by Kamala Markandaya, both hope and fear are present forces in the
story that affect the outcome of the situations they go through. Fear helps the family overcome
famine, monsoons, and death as time goes on. As situations get harder, the force of hope becomes
no more. Although hope is present in the story, fearis the more powerful force that keeps Rukmani
and her family alive throughout the story. Fear is a force that can make or break people. The
fear could either motivate you to higher heights or completely destroy you as a person. In this
case fear helped Rukmani and her family countless times. An example of this is when Rukmani

Nathan said somberly. The rains have destroyed much of our work, there will be little eating done

This upbeat melody takes me directly back to my childhood and all throughout high school. I am

Barbie song because it comes from my favorite movie Barbie and the Princess Charm School. The
reason I chose this as my opening credits is because it exemplifies how every girl is a princess in

Game Of Thrones Misogyny Analysis
Game of Thrones: A Disguised Misogyny Game of Thrones is currently one of the most popular
television shows that airs on HBO. Throughout its seven season run, Game of Thrones has
represented gender and sexuality in ways that often tend to simultaneously propagate popular
stereotypes and downplay them at other times. In the drama, the characters can be shown to be
representing distinctive characteristics being feminine or masculine and so its society is
generally viewed as misogynistic in the way it is structured. As we know, how in our society
today s women are so powerful and successful still they are considered weaker sex and dominated
by the men. This drama is a perfect example of the issues women of our society face every day.
The setting of the show is in Westeros and Essos, two fictional continents which have been widely
likened to the medieval ages. The show has various plot lines centering on three main story arcs.
The first focuses on the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms and pursues tangled conflicts and
alliances among the monastic noble families who either vie to claim the throne or fight to be
independent from it. The second story arc concentrates on the enduring brotherhood tasked with
protecting the realm from age old threats and apocryphal creatures from the far north, and an

Analyzing Sebastian Arredondo s Performance
This is a critique of Sebastian Arredondo s performance on the evening of Monday November 28,
2016 which took place in Recital Hall in Merrill Hall of the Jacob s School of Music. Arredondo
performed three pieces. His first piece was Domenico Scarlatti s Sonata in A Major, K.208 followed
by his Sonata in D Major, K.492. His next piece was Maurice Ravels Valses nobles et sentimentales
(1911) which contains 8 movements; Modere Tres franc, Assez lent, Modere, Assez anime, Presque
lent, Vif, Moins vif, and Epilogue: Lent. The last piece Arredondo performed was Franz Liszts
Sonata in B Minor, S.178. Scarlatti lived from 1685 1757 and the majority of his pieces were
published after his death. Maurice Raval lived from 1875 1937 and his piece Valses nobles et
sentimentales was published for pianoin 1911. Franz Liszt lived from 1811 1886 and his Sonata in
B Minor, S.178 was published in 1854.

person entered and his shoes squeaked with every step he took. And he didn t even just take a
seat in the back row, he walked about five rows in before he took a seat. I felt bad for Arredondo
but he handled it like a pro because he didn t let it phase him. Another aspect of the performance,
I didn t particular care for is how after every piece, the performer will leave the stage and then
come back out. I understand why they do it and that it s tradition but I found it a little strange. The
performance part however, I really didn t have any complaints. I was entertained and he held my

Diesel mechanics can have a high pay rate depending on where they live and what company they

Bloodstain Pattern Analysis Investigation
a. RATIONALE:
It s not uncommon to find bloodstains at a crime scene, especially if a violent crime has been
committed. These bloodstains are crucial for forensic scientists because, when analyzed, they can
fill in details about the crime that was committed and even help investigators solve the case. Each
bloodstain is distinctive and it s size and shape is dependant upon several factors like velocity,
location, and angle of impact. For this experiment, I will be investigating bloodstain pattern analysis
, or BPA for short. Specifically, I will examining how impact angle affects the size and shape of a
blood spatter. This experiment, but more generally, BPA as a discipline is important to maintain
the foundation of the judicial system. This may seem like a bit of an exaggeration, but it isn t. BPA
allows criminal investigators to gain a better understanding of the scenario that occurred at a crime
scene by analyzing the distinct blood spatters left behind. With this information, the investigators
are then able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I will be attempting to answer the question of how does the impact angle affect the size and
shape of a low velocity blood spatter? Going into my experiment, I believe that, as the angle of
impact decreases, the elongation of a low velocity blood spatter will increase and the spines and
satellites of the spatter will become more focused on the side opposite the angle of impact due
to the gravitational force acting upon the blood spatter. Therefore, I expect that, if the impact
angle is 90В°, the blood spatter will be nearly spherical. The closer to zero that the impact angle
becomes, the more oval like I will expect the spatter will become (i.e. it will become longer and
narrower). I also expect to see a distinct, though possibly small, change in shape at each level of
the independent variable because each consecutive variable will vary by

  • 2. Comparing The Outrigger System And Braced Frame System 2.2 Braced Frame and Shear Walled Frame System Rigid frame systems are not efficient for buildings taller than 30 stories, because lateral defection due to the bending of columns causes the drift to be too large. On the other hand, steel bracing or shear walls with or without rigid frame (brace systems and shear wall systems), increases the total rigidity of the building and the resulting system is named as braced frame or shear walled frame system. These systems are stiffer when compared to the rigid frame system, and can be used for buildings over 30 stories, but mostly applicable for buildings about 50 stories in height. However, there are examples for these systems reaching over 100 storey ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As an innovative and efficient structural system, the outrigger system comprises a central core, including either braced frames or shear walls, with horizontal outrigger trusses or girders connecting the core to the external columns. Furthermore, in most cases, the external columns are interconnected by exterior belt girder. If the building is subjected to the horizontal loading, the rotation of the core is prevented by the column restrained outriggers. The outriggers and belt girder should be at least one and often two stories deep to realize adequate stiffness. Thus, they are generally positioned at plant levels to reduce the obstruction they create. Depending upon the number of levels of outriggers and their stiffness, the perimeter columns of an outrigger structure perform a composite behavior with the core. When compared to single storey outrigger structures, multi storey outriggers have better lateral resistance, and thus efficiency in the structural behavior. However, each extra outrigger storey enhances the lateral stiffness, but by a smaller amount than the previous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. A Summary Of Vildar s Fight Vildar flexed his fingers and put his elbow on the table. Tiber Grist shrugged and followed suit. Arm wrestling. That s what the game is. Thought Holt. Probably not the best move Vildar had made, especially drunk and against an opponent who was bigger and stronger than him. But strength was not always the winner in these things, a little cunning always helped, and that s what Holt hoped to adopt. They took their positions, hands interlocking. Tiber Grist grinned crookedly at his challenger. Immediately Vildar s arm was driven back. Holt watched as his muscles locked taking the strain. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He cracked his knuckles. Very well, but I warn you, I am not very good at this. Tiber Grist eyed him, deciding whether to believe him or not. Holt had lied. In fact, he was very good at this. Eldon and himself often arm wrestled for fun, and like Grist, Eldon was bigger and stronger than him. But he did not need to win. For this plan to work. He needed to lose. He took the strain, forcing the other Gnomes arm backwards. He might mean to lose the game but it did not mean he was going to make it easy for Grist. Holt continued to force the arm back. A look of startled surprise crossed Tiber Grist s features. A bead of sweat ran down his face and dripped off the nose ring. Slowly Holt released the pressure. Not enough to cause suspicion, just enough to let Grist think he was gaining the upper hand. Around them the other Gnome s bayed and chanted, slapping their hands and beer jugs on the wooden benches. Gradually Grist wrestled Holt s arm back until it was inches above the tabletop. Holt held it there, showing the strain on his face. Then he let it go. Tiber Grist grinned in triumph. Luther would be placed at the lower left, as his attitude to political authority is Christ against culture , and especially Rejectionist (A), whereas his attitude to political violence is Realism (10) Luther s attitude to political authority is quite similar to Augustine s one, which stated that all authority is derived from God (p.168). When I was younger, I didn t quite understand the differences between the Native Taiwanese and Mainlander in Taiwan, where Mainlander referred to Chinese migrants during or after the period of the surrender of Imperial Japan, and World War II. It wasn t until much later that I understood why Taiwanese divided among themselves. I was told that my mother s side of family have experienced the White Terror, which refers to the entire period from 1947 to 1987, during this period, many of the family lands was confiscated by the Kuomintang, the Chinese nationalist party. It was also during the White Terror period that Mandarin Chinese languagewas established as the official language of Taiwan, and the other native language mainly Taiwanese was considered as taboo and forbidden. The language differences are especially obvious between Northern and Southern of Taiwan, while my mother s side of the family resident in the South, as I grow up in the North, I speak mainly Mandarin Chinese, and I can understand but not quite fluent in Taiwanese. My grandfather on my father s side was a general of the Chinese military that defeated the Nationalists and declaring the People s Republic of China then retreat to Taiwan in 1949. Frost uses a lot of end stopped lines and enjambment in the lines of his poem. Both have an effect on the way the poem is read by the readers. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nature is calm and serene, while this boy s life has changed in a matter of seconds from living to dead in a tragic event. The end stopped lines and enjambments are used very well in the remainder of the poem. Frost s poem is interesting because he uses personification and repetition in describing the saw, the saw is given life; it snarled and rattled . Frost talks about the saw as though it were a person when as it ran light, or had to bear a load like the saw can feel the weight of its work. The narrator depicts the scene as the saw and the boy interacting in a human way. As if to prove saws know what supper meant, / Leaped out at the boy s hand, or seemed to leap The boy and the saw connect during the boys excitement over dinner and Frost makes it seem as though the saw was also excited leading to them both jumping. The saw is personified again as it is said to have leaped to meet the hand and then cut it off. The following line continues the same way. Neither refused the meeting. But the hand! The saw is brought to life and it becomes the antagonist in the poem as it chops off the boy s hand and not once does Frost blame the boy in the accident. After the hand is chopped off the saw is not mentioned again as the poem continues with the boy. Frost has a compelling way of writing the poem, in the beginnings of the poem there is a lot of metaphors and descriptions of the setting and the saw and the boy. Once the boy is injured ... The style was the most popular art style at that time, which meant it was produced in many different contexts and affected other art styles such as interior design, architecture, households and jewellery making it a very flexible style. • 12. Civil Service Research Paper I believe that high school graduates should not be required a year of service before going to college. Some students, by choice, will join the military or civil services; others may already be set on a career they want to achieve. For example if someone wants to be a doctor, they already have many years of school ahead of them. But, if students are not attending collegeimmediatley following high school, they should be required a year of service. As a result, students are able to learn valuable life lessons and give themselves a better life. For example they learn to be flexible, make safe decisions, and self direct themselves. Students that are already set on going to college, however, should not need to serve due to the commitment it takes.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Making a difference is a marathon, not a sprint, (gogoverment.org). Likewise, going into a civil service job is not going to make you a ton of money like you may believe. Being in the civil service or military takes for a lot of patience. Joining the military or civil services after graduating can also be a very beneficial thing and provides valuable life skills to students. It is important for students to serve there country and get a feel for what the military is like. For example the military teaches you to be a leader and how to work as a team, including all sorts of different personalities. Additionally, in most military branches you can receive education. Now you can serve, and get an education. However, this would force you to serve longer than one year. In conclusion, I believe that you should not have to complete a civil service for a year after graduating high school. In my opinion, it is good to get through college first so you can get a career, then if you wish to serve for a year you have something to fall back on. There is many benefits of joining the military, but there are many risks too. Not being in the military would allow you to focus on your college studies and your career that lies ... Autonomic Nervous System The two divisions of the autonomic nervous system (ANS), sympathetic (SNS) and parasympathetic (PNS), function in a complementary and integrated manner to maintain homeostasis. The output of the autonomic nervous system is quick in comparison to the endocrine system functions. In most cases, these systems have opposite effects, where one initiates a physiological response and the other inhibits. The nerves of this system regulate vital internal functions which are generally performed without conscious control (Khan Academy, 2014). The output of the ANS effects smooth, cardiac muscle and glandular tissue (Betts et al, 2013) The sympathetic division is associated with the fight or flight response, dominating in stressful situations ... The PNS system increases blood flow to digestive organs and excretory system and decreases the blood flow to skeletal tissue (an opposite effect to the SNS) (AK Lectures, 2014) Salivary secretion is increased and gastric motility is stimulated to facilitate digestion (McCorry, 2007). (1990) This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a patient applied 10% potassium nitrate glycerine based gel in decreasing dentinal sensitivity on teeth with exposed dentin apical to the cementoenamel junction. The patients were divided into 3 treatment groups: group 1 was treated with a glycerine based 10% potassium nitrate gel; group 2 was treated with a glycerine gel without potassium nitrate; and group 3 received no gel and no treatment (control). Following brushing and flossing, groups 1 and 2 applied the gel to the test teeth using custom made soft acrylic trays, for a period of 5 min/ day for 4 weeks. Patient responses to cold water stimuli were measured at baseline (week 0), then at I , 2 , 3 and 4 week intervals. Group 1 patients showed a significant decrease in sensitivity to cold at week 2 only. The group 2 patients showed a significant decrease in sensitivity to cold after 3 and 4 weeks. A statistically significant decrease in sensitivity was noted between group 2 and group 3 patients at week 3, the most sustained decrease in sensitivity to cold was found on teeth treated with plain glycerine. It is of note that every individual is unique therefore fact and fiction will be perceived in various manners. Theories and philosophies often are taken into consideration when management research formulation or problems occur. Van Gich (2002) compares the epistemology disciplines in science as modern physics versus social sciences. Both of these methods have evolved with our ever changing society. Van Gich (2002, p. 201) mentions that Scientists believe knowledge should be considered objectively without being persuaded by any extenuating circumstances such as people or place whereas philosophers tend to argue that knowledge should be subjective to perception and thought analysis. Easterby Smith et al. (2012) note there has been a long standing tension in the conduction of management research. Should management research lead to an epistemological stance? The writer believes that every situation is unique applying objective concepts in certain circumstances and subjective concepts in others. Both concepts may be utilized in certain cases. Conclusion It is quite possible to gain knowledge from both tangible and intangible characteristics of our every changing society today. The variables depend on the intended outcome. The Five Competitive Forces That Shape Strategy Central Theme In the article, The Five Competitive Forces that Shape Strategy, Michael Porter argues that the five forces are an important element for managers and investors in the business industry. Porter stated that it is important to understand the competitive forces, and their underlying causes which many companies will use to determine if they will gain profitor not (Porter 80). Companies determine their profitability of the industry through the level of the force that they face. For instance, when the forces are favorable, most companies will be profitable. Porter gives a detail description of the five forces and explains the importance of each force. The five forces are the threats of new entrants, the power of the buyers, the power of the suppliers, the threats of substitute for products or services, and the rivalry among existing competitors. Porter believes that a company strategist who understands the competition extends well beyond existing rivals will detect wider competitive threats and be better equipped to address them (Porter 93). Officers are being ordered in on their off days or holidays, forced to work mandatory overtime, a higher inmate to Correctional Officer ratio, as well as experienced Officers having to work with an extensive amount of rookie or inexperienced Correctional Officers. This combining of experienced officers with new hires, who have not received any type of prior training, raises the stress level during dangerous interactions with inmates, as well lowering the morale of the Officers who remain and attempt to complete their careers with a specific agency. This may be due to long term employees realizing that many of the new hires are using their time as a Correctional Officer to gain experience, or as a stepping stone to eventually become a road or patrol Officer, which may involve more experienced Officers not spending the time necessary to assist, or provide On the job training to the new hires. Additional causes of stress may include the threat of inmate violence, actual inmate violence, inmate demands and manipulations, problems with co workers, as well as having a poor public image. • 27. Long Lost Family Several seasons back, there was a program on one of the cable television stations entitled Long Lost Family . The premise of the program was to reunite family members who had been separated for many years, sometimes decades, to make a family whole again. Sometimes the story was about parents and children lost through adoption or custody situations. Most frequently, it was about siblings who, because of family feuds or other dysfunctions, had been apart for many years. Sometimes other siblings had polarized around the two who were separated, causing increased tensions and rifts. Interestingly, many times the true cause of the rift as lost to time and memory. Frequently, it came down to miscommunication and pride, a form of standing ground to not appear weak or guilty. Through the intercession of the host of the program, the separated siblings would communicate, have an opportunity to explain or make amends, and then reunite. At the end of the program, the producers would post an update on how well the reunion and rebuilding of family ties was progressing. It was always clear that rebuilding of the family ties would take time and effort on both sides. Character Analysis Of King Henry The V King Henry the V, a strong young man who has shown to be a natural leader as he time and time again captures the hearts of people by his moving speeches. There is no denying that Henry the V is an interesting character, both fear and loved by the people around him. As much as he can be admirable leader clearly there are some very strange aspects about his character. When reading through the play one tends to wonder who King Henry really is. As he enters in different scenarios and interacts with different people we see a dramatic shift in his personality. Though on one hand it is not a bad thing, perhaps he understands what type of people want in different situation and he seems to mold his personality accordingly. On the other hand, however, one can look at this as an act of deceit even comparing King Henry to the modern day politicians who are often accused of being deceitful by putting up a character for their own advantage. All in all, it is very evident that King Henry has a multi faceted personality and he uses it to his own advantage. Shakespeare intentionally showed this in the play to show In his speechat the wall of Harfleur King Henry shows a very brutal side of himself when trying to invade France showing how merciless and how plainly vicious he can be . The purpose of this paper is to show how in the play, Henry the fifth by William Shakespeareand the film version by Kenneth Branagh both show that Henry is that although Henry is not a good person morally speaking but is a successful king .Who uses his many faces to deceive people but also create his empire .During the speech at the wall of Harfleur, King Henry shows a very brutal and harsh side of his personality very different from what he has been showing before. In the dramatic text, the speech was delivered in blank verse to show the status of who was speaking and to set the tone of the speech. In the film version, Branagh too interpreted this scene as a very intense moment by the way in which showed the scene in the film. Dystopian Society In 1984 Many generations have muttered in protest, debates, or in hushed voices to their children, the people should not fear their government, the government should fear their people to the point that its origins have become lost. Still, the tone of such a statement is not lost to any person that is aware of war or oppressive governments. Bengal born George Orwellhad been a soldier and the atrocities he witnessed in the Spanish Civil War would lead to his penning of the dystopian novel 1984 (Orwell, 1950). While his work shares the sentiments of the aforementioned quote it is also a warning to its readers about tyrannical governments. Orwell need not lack inspiration for portraying a government that feeds its nation false stories when Germany kidnapped a Polish prisoner, killed him, and used this murder to as their Polish invasion excuse (Tindall, 2013, p. 1151). Other lies by the Nazis included blaming the Jewish population for Germany s failing economy. This behavior led to neighbors turning on neighbors and the country being in a constant police state. With questioning the government s actions a crime and deemed unpatriotic, children were being raised in an atmosphere where there was nothing worse than doublethink , not unlike schooling during World War II in German occupied cities. Along with the Ingsoc indoctrination, children were allowed to join the Spies, which could be equated to Gestapo Boy Scouts. Everyone became easier to brainwash because they joined militarized hobbies and the language, called Newspeak, was removing any words from the language that could allow a conversation that denounced their regime. As those that remembered a time before Ingsoc were killed or died naturally and all memory of the truths of history were written out and a mentality of this is how it has always been was beginning to be adopted, Winston frequently griping that if he dared to challenge a statement he had no proof aside from his memory. • 35. The Role Of Fear In Markandaya s Nectar In A Sieve In the story Nectar in a Sieve by Kamala Markandaya, both hope and fear are present forces in the story that affect the outcome of the situations they go through. Fear helps the family overcome famine, monsoons, and death as time goes on. As situations get harder, the force of hope becomes no more. Although hope is present in the story, fearis the more powerful force that keeps Rukmani and her family alive throughout the story. Fear is a force that can make or break people. The fear could either motivate you to higher heights or completely destroy you as a person. In this case fear helped Rukmani and her family countless times. An example of this is when Rukmani and Nathan are talking about the effects that the monsoons will have on them. It is a bad season , Nathan said somberly. The rains have destroyed much of our work, there will be little eating done this year (40). Since the rain destroyed most of the family s land, they have a fear of starvation and that they might not survive this season. • 37. Reann And Barbie Song Analysis 1) Opening Credits You Can Tell She s a Princess by Reann This upbeat melody takes me directly back to my childhood and all throughout high school. I am a child at heart. Barbie movies have followed me from when I was first introduced to them in Kindergarten all the way until my senior year of high school. This song in particular is my favorite Barbie song because it comes from my favorite movie Barbie and the Princess Charm School. The reason I chose this as my opening credits is because it exemplifies how every girl is a princess in her own way. Which alone is a powerful message of its own, as well as sentimental value of youthfulness. Barbie represents all girls and she is a positive role model for all. Throughout its seven season run, Game of Thrones has represented gender and sexuality in ways that often tend to simultaneously propagate popular stereotypes and downplay them at other times. In the drama, the characters can be shown to be representing distinctive characteristics being feminine or masculine and so its society is generally viewed as misogynistic in the way it is structured. As we know, how in our society today s women are so powerful and successful still they are considered weaker sex and dominated by the men. This drama is a perfect example of the issues women of our society face every day. The setting of the show is in Westeros and Essos, two fictional continents which have been widely likened to the medieval ages. The show has various plot lines centering on three main story arcs. The first focuses on the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms and pursues tangled conflicts and alliances among the monastic noble families who either vie to claim the throne or fight to be independent from it. The second story arc concentrates on the enduring brotherhood tasked with protecting the realm from age old threats and apocryphal creatures from the far north, and an imminent winter which poses a threat to the entire realm. • 39. Analyzing Sebastian Arredondo s Performance This is a critique of Sebastian Arredondo s performance on the evening of Monday November 28, 2016 which took place in Recital Hall in Merrill Hall of the Jacob s School of Music. Arredondo performed three pieces. His first piece was Domenico Scarlatti s Sonata in A Major, K.208 followed by his Sonata in D Major, K.492. His next piece was Maurice Ravels Valses nobles et sentimentales (1911) which contains 8 movements; Modere Tres franc, Assez lent, Modere, Assez anime, Presque lent, Vif, Moins vif, and Epilogue: Lent. The last piece Arredondo performed was Franz Liszts Sonata in B Minor, S.178. Scarlatti lived from 1685 1757 and the majority of his pieces were published after his death. Maurice Raval lived from 1875 1937 and his piece Valses nobles et sentimentales was published for pianoin 1911. My main problems were with things out of his control. I found myself frustrated and annoyed by the audience who for the majority of the performance either left while he was in the middle of the piece or entered the auditorium during a song. To make matters worse, it was pouring outside so at one point in Liszt s Sonata in B Minor, it was a really quiet part of the piece and one person entered and his shoes squeaked with every step he took. And he didn t even just take a seat in the back row, he walked about five rows in before he took a seat. I felt bad for Arredondo but he handled it like a pro because he didn t let it phase him. Another aspect of the performance, I didn t particular care for is how after every piece, the performer will leave the stage and then come back out. I understand why they do it and that it s tradition but I found it a little strange. The performance part however, I really didn t have any complaints. Then as I got older when he would work on it I would always be right there helping him. Sometimes I would just be handing him tools other times I would be right next to him helping take parts off and on. Ever since a young kid I have always wanted to be a diesel mechanic. Diesel mechanics do a variety of things revolving around diesel engines. • 41. Bloodstain Pattern Analysis Investigation a. RATIONALE: It s not uncommon to find bloodstains at a crime scene, especially if a violent crime has been committed. These bloodstains are crucial for forensic scientists because, when analyzed, they can fill in details about the crime that was committed and even help investigators solve the case. Each bloodstain is distinctive and it s size and shape is dependant upon several factors like velocity, location, and angle of impact. For this experiment, I will be investigating bloodstain pattern analysis , or BPA for short. Specifically, I will examining how impact angle affects the size and shape of a blood spatter. This experiment, but more generally, BPA as a discipline is important to maintain the foundation of the judicial system. This may seem like a bit of an exaggeration, but it isn t. BPA allows criminal investigators to gain a better understanding of the scenario that occurred at a crime scene by analyzing the distinct blood spatters left behind. With this information, the investigators are then able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I will be attempting to answer the question of how does the impact angle affect the size and shape of a low velocity blood spatter? Going into my experiment, I believe that, as the angle of impact decreases, the elongation of a low velocity blood spatter will increase and the spines and satellites of the spatter will become more focused on the side opposite the angle of impact due to the gravitational force acting upon the blood spatter. Therefore, I expect that, if the impact angle is 90В°, the blood spatter will be nearly spherical. The closer to zero that the impact angle becomes, the more oval like I will expect the spatter will become (i.e. it will become longer and narrower). I also expect to see a distinct, though possibly small, change in shape at each level of the independent variable because each consecutive variable will vary by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Telehealth has improved capabilities to reduce travel time, increase access to specialty care, and improve patient safety, quality of care, and provider support.1 Traditional models of telehealth involve care delivered to the patient at a series of originating (or spoke) sites from a specialist working at a distant (or hub) site.
