Annual Appeal
1. “A little bit of mercy makes the world less cold and more just.” - Pope Francis
Dear Friend,
Last year over 30,000 Kensington residents accessed services and
programs at the CCV Center. This year, we expect even more. Imagine
waking up and wondering how am I going to feed my family? Will my
children make it to school safely today? Is there any hope for me to live the
“American Dream”? Unfortunately, this is the reality for the residents of
Kensington who must deal with the daily struggles of excessive crime,
drugs and sex trafficking and a wave of poverty which keeps most
constituents struggling with their daily lives.
You are the reason that we are able to provide these extraordinary and vital
services to over 30,000 people in the Kensington District. Whether you have
made a financial gift, volunteered, provided in-kind donations or offered kind
words you have helped someone. You have made a difference in
someone’s life. Our work would not be possible without you! Thank You!
“Now I can feed my family tonight thanks to
the food pantry.” – Local Resident
One day a young lady who was being sexually exploited got tired. She
visited our center and was put in touch with an Anti Sex Trafficking counselor
and with help from the FBI and the Center staff, she is now in school. This
would not have been possible without your support. Just imagine that you or
a friend were in a desperate situation and you have no where to turn. What
would you do? Where would you go for help?
Will you help us continue this important work for these underserved
families. Your gift will provide resources that will help this impoverished
community to become vibrant once again. It is not about Kensington alone, it
is about the City of Philadelphia and making the streets safe for the children.
Together we are changing lives and building brighter futures. Thank you for
your prayers and your support,
