6. SECRETS
~Anne’s parents didn’t want their girls
to know about the war, and what was
happening to Jews in Germany because
they didn’t want them to worry.
7. LEAVING IT BEHIND
~The Franks packed up all they could and left
to go to the secret annex at half past 7:00 am.
They had to leave their cat, Moorje behind,
but they asked their neighbor to look over her.
9. LIVING IN THE ANNEX
~Living in the annex brought many challenges and new
experiences to the Frank family.
~Anne and her family had to share the annex with another
family, the Van Pels.
~Anne shared a room with Margot (her sister) and later with
Fritz Pfeffer.
11. PETER
~ Anne described Peter as rather soft, shy, gawky,
youth, and you can’t expect much of him.
~ Peter and Anne developed feelings for each other
while staying in the annex.
~ Anne had her first kiss with him.
13. BEING DISCOVERED
~ Otto Frank (Anne’s father) was on his way up to give Peter
his English lesson, when they heard strange men’s voices and
shouting from down stairs. A few minutes earlier five men had
suddenly entered the office building, one of the men was
wearing a German police uniform.
15. THE DAIRY IS LEFT
BEHIND
~The eight prisons were limited on what they could bring with them.
~They were then transported to the police station. Eventually they were
all separated and put into different camps.
~ Anne and her sister stayed together in a camp but due to conditions the
both passed away.
~Some of them lived, Otto Frank, but others like Hermann van Pels were
murdered in the gas chambers.
