The document discusses the development of various assets for a mental health awareness campaign, including a logo, posters, merchandise, and a website. For the logo, the author experimented with spacing and positioning of letters in Arial font before settling on squeezing the letters together and highlighting borders for clarity. Posters were based on statistics with appropriate photos to raise awareness without being too upsetting. Merchandise included t-shirts and bags in various colors to promote happiness while representing the campaign. The website was the most challenging as placement of elements was unsure, but the end result was bold, simple, and consistent in font usage with some color variation.
Harry Allinson reflects on the process of creating a football magazine cover and double page spread. He found an image of Harry Kane to use as the cover, removed the background, and added a blue solid color background. Borders and text were then added to complete the cover design. For the double page spread, Allinson layered images and adjusted their hue and saturation to highlight the players. While proud of his work, he acknowledges there is room for improvement and learning new skills from these projects.

The document summarizes key economic data and events scheduled for the coming days, including retail sales data on February 13th and a 10-year Treasury auction. It notes that bond markets have been grinding lower against a long-term trendline and are increasingly likely to break higher or lower. The 10-year auction results could cause markets to react more on Thursday depending on whether yields meet expectations.
The bond markets are attempting to hold declining support but wild cards abound that could push prices higher or lower. Treasury bond prices have been grinding into a long-term trendline and are at increasing risk of breaking above or below recent trading ranges. Jobless claims numbers coming out could impact the markets if they miss or beat forecasts. The bond auction scheduled for that afternoon also needs to not have issues in order to avoid breaking support levels. Overall, volatility is likely to continue in the coming days due to various economic reports and overseas factors.
A major snowstorm hitting the East Coast on Friday was adding uncertainty to the mortgage-backed securities (MBS) markets. With fewer participants than Treasuries and stocks, MBS prices are more susceptible to volatility when events decrease overall participation. If Treasuries hold their ground, MBS prices should remain near intermediate support levels set from prices on Thursday afternoon. Broader bond markets also face recent weakness, leaving Treasury yields little room to rise before facing challenges, making it difficult to find major motivation on Friday.
The document is an interactive homeownership calculator from Ginnie Mae that allows users to compare the costs of buying vs renting a home. It provides three examples of calculations with different input values. Even with less than ideal scenarios like only staying 3 years with 0% home appreciation, buying still makes financial sense compared to renting due to tax savings and equity earned over time. The calculator shows that in most housing market conditions, buying a home is likely to provide greater long term savings than continually renting a property.
1) The document provides an economic forecast for early 2013, predicting sluggish growth around 1.5% until mid-year due to fiscal restraints from taxes and spending cuts.
2) Business earnings are also expected to disappoint as growth slows in Europe and China, though the auto industry may see gains from European companies shifting production to the US.
3) The election remains close, with Obama favored but Romney potentially winning enough electoral votes, while recounts could delay final results in some states. Split ticket voting may help Democrats retain control of the Senate.
The document provides an overview of mortgage-backed securities (MBS) for those unfamiliar with the topic. It explains that MBS are bonds derived from pools of mortgages that have been packaged together. When mortgage loans are originated, they can be sold to investors in the form of MBS. The prices and yields of MBS fluctuate daily based on supply and demand, directly influencing mortgage interest rates.
IS IT WORTH IT JUST TO LOWER MY RATE BY A HALF OF PERCENTClint Hammond
This document discusses whether refinancing a mortgage is worth it for a small interest rate reduction. It argues that the common rule of thumb that a refinance is only worthwhile if the rate is reduced by 2% or more is misleading, as it does not consider transaction costs or the homeowner's goals. The document presents examples showing that a refinance could make sense even with a 1% rate reduction, and outlines different options for utilizing the savings, such as paying off the loan faster or investing the difference.
Is it worth it just to lower my rate by a half of percentClint Hammond
This document discusses whether refinancing a mortgage is worth it for a small interest rate reduction. It argues that the common rule of thumb that a refinance is only worthwhile if the rate is reduced by 2% or more is flawed because it does not consider transaction costs or the homeowner's goals. The document presents examples showing that a refinance could make sense even with a 1% rate reduction if the costs can be recouped quickly. It also argues that concerns about restarting a 30-year term are misplaced, as the homeowner maintains full control over extra payments to pay off the loan early.
The student created various pieces of work for a marketing project on Irn-Bru, including a magazine advertisement, website banners, and product packaging. Their planning process worked well for choosing colors but could have been improved by experimenting with more font options. Developing their work through multiple drafts and peer feedback helped improve the quality and catch errors. While the packaging design was most successful, all pieces served their intended purpose to promote the product. Further refinement is still needed, especially for the magazine ad, to make the designs more polished.

1) Redesigning the homepage to use landscape orientation with rotating property photos and changing the subheading. Mockups were created for redesigned interior pages.
2) Creating a "Developments" page with property photos/info in square boxes and a "Meet the Team" page with staff photos in circles that link to profiles.
The expert evaluated that the first idea was best as it uses clean, eye-catching designs that clearly showcase properties and would attract potential clients to learn more. Research was then done on the client's competition

The document discusses the technical and aesthetic qualities of the student's work on designing promotional materials for a new energy drink called Irn-Bru 32. Technically, the student focused on layout, font choice, and use of effects like drop shadows. Aesthetically, consistent colors and fonts were used to maintain branding across materials. The student also experimented with images to convey the drink's energizing properties. 3 simple steps to create your company logo - An essential guide for entrepren...Nishchal Par
Nishchal Par provides a 3-step guide for entrepreneurs to design a versatile logo for their company with minimal time and cost investment. The steps are to first get clarity on your business values, then use mind mapping and sketches to develop visual representations, and finally implement the design on a computer using vector graphics. Black and white versions should be made before adding color. The goal is to create a simple, identifiable logo that can be recognized across different mediums.
The document discusses why hiring a graphic designer is important. It notes that competition is increasing, demand for graphic designers is rising, and everything needs visual appeal. A good graphic designer can engage users and present information attractively for websites, advertising, and more. When hiring, creativity should be prioritized over experience. Experience has limits while fresh perspectives can generate new ideas. The cost of a designer should also be considered against the potential to earn more through their work. Hiring a creative and quick designer can help meet demands and grow a business.
This presentation talks about the definition of what design is. It also touches on the basics of design thinking. It showcases different types of design and concludes with how you can become and designer and what you would need to study design.
