Do you know what Agile means for your organisation?
Do you know what to do to become more Agile?
Are you feeling confused by the terminology?
Have you heard about Agile brands like Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®) but don't know what they mean?
Do you know who to involve in developing your Agile approach?
A key part of the cultural transformations that Melanie Franklin is involved in is the desire to become more Agile. A common issue across all these transformations is the confusion around what Agile is and what it will mean for the organisation.
In this webinar Melanie Franklin is going to start with the basics, explaining the different Agile brands, the principles of Agile working and how this translates into Agile processes and a lifecycle model. She will differentiate between development and project implementation and show how change management is a critical element of effective Agile working. Melanie Franklin will also use examples to show how Agile can be applied to all sorts of initiatives and that it is not just for IT.

This document discusses project management as a career move. It begins with an introduction of the presenter and an agenda. It then defines project management and lists industries that will need many new project management roles globally by 2020. It describes what to expect in a project management role, including managing a project team and responsibilities. Reasons why project management could be a good career move are listed, such as gaining experience managing people and projects from start to finish. The document also lists reasons why project management may not be suitable, such as a preference for working with technology over people or an inability to handle ambiguity. Finally, it provides steps to get into a project management role, such as gaining experience and keeping open to opportunities.
This document provides an overview of Lean principles for product managers from an Amazon senior product manager with experience at Toyota. It discusses Lean philosophy focusing on respect for humanity, customer first, continuous improvement, and genba (going to see firsthand). Tools like standardized work, kaizen, jidoka, and heijunka are meant to achieve stability and outcomes of highest quality, lowest cost/shortest lead time. Value stream maps are used as examples to identify wastes and challenges. The document emphasizes starting with philosophy over tools and assessing the current state to set SMART goals and drive continuous improvement through the PDCA cycle towards an ideal state.
CPO Game Changer Series – Volume 1: Early EngagementZycus
This document summarizes a web seminar presented by the Institute for Supply Management and Zycus on early engagement in procurement. The seminar featured presentations from Nora Neibergall of ISM, Andrew Bartolini of Ardent Partners, and Richard Waugh of Zycus. Bartolini discussed the state of the CPO role and importance of early engagement. Professional Project Manager Should Be Proficient in AgileNitor
This document discusses the benefits of being proficient in Agile project management. It begins with an introduction of the presenter and their experience in IT projects. It then contrasts the Waterfall and Agile approaches. Waterfall involves detailed upfront planning while Agile values adaptability and frequent delivery of working software. The document emphasizes that due to global competition, it is not enough to simply complete a project but to exceed expectations and adapt quickly. It provides examples of how companies like Nitor have seen success through Agile methods and discusses key Agile principles like small batch sizes and effective communication.
This document provides an overview and agenda for an Agile Foundation training session on Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe. The session will cover setting the context for Agile, the Agile Manifesto, Scrum basics, and keywords. It will also discuss Scrum Master certifications and provide a deep dive into Scrum fundamentals and an overview of SAFe. The session aims to be interactive with participation from attendees.
Is SAFe the right framework for my organization? After all, there are numerous other frameworks (Disciplined Agile, Nexus, LeSS, S@S, etc.) that claim to deliver similar results and impart comparable benefits…
This question is at core of our upcoming webinar.
In this session we will turn our focus to the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and how organizations have successfully implemented it. We will provide practical tips and tricks, examples, and approaches to implementing SAFe in a way that ensures the success of your agile transformation.
If you feel a bit concerned about the FUD, join this webinar to hear real life examples, best practices and experiences from the folks who help define SAFe and implement it across multiple verticals.

Ken Whitaker shares pragmatic techniques to help project managers and software development leaders put into practice innovative scheduling techniques, make consistent customer-centric decisions, reduce project risk, quickly negotiate with product owners the most important project scope, and transition teams to become more agile. Ken shares revealing statistical data on how waterfall is simply not suited for modern-day adaptive software development projects. With fellow participants, you’ll spend time performing a “Scrum walkabout” to get the idea of just how an agile project really works. These best practices are presented to motivate your team to deliver projects on time, every time. Although this tutorial doesn’t incorporate intensive role-play, we’ll have lively interaction that will incorporate lessons learned from actual case studies and attendees’ project experiences. Take away powerful, yet simple, ways to bridge the gap between PMI’s PMBOK® Guide and agile.

Healthy economic development requires properly managing the banking industry of any
country. Along with state-owned banks, private banks play a critical role in the country's economy.
Managers in all types of banks now confront the same challenge: how to get the utmost output from
their employees. Therefore, Performance appraisal appears to be inevitable since it set the
standard for comparing actual performance to established objectives and recommending practical
solutions that help the organization achieve sustainable growth. Therefore, the purpose of this
research is to determine the effect of performance appraisal on employee motivation and retention.

Is Agile dead? It depends on what you mean by 'Agile'. If you mean that the organizations are not getting the promised benefits because they were focusing too much on the team-level agile "ways of working" instead of systemic global improvements -- then we are in agreement. It is a misunderstanding of Agility that led us down a dead-end. At Org Topologies, we see bright sparks -- the signs of the 'second wave of Agile' as we call it. The emphasis is shifting towards both in-team and inter-team collaboration. Away from false dichotomies. Both: team autonomy and shared broad product ownership are required to sustain true result-oriented organizational agility. Org Topologies is a package offering a visual language plus thinking tools required to communicate org development direction and can be used to help design and then sustain org change aiming at higher organizational archetypes.

From Concept to reality : Implementing Lean Managements DMAIC Methodology for...Rokibul Hasan
The Ready-Made Garments (RMG) industry in Bangladesh is a cornerstone of the economy, but increasing costs and stagnant productivity pose significant challenges to profitability. This study explores the implementation of Lean Management in the Sampling Section of RMG factories to enhance productivity. Drawing from a comprehensive literature review, theoretical framework, and action research methodology, the study identifies key areas for improvement and proposes solutions.
Through the DMAIC approach (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), the research identifies low productivity as the primary problem in the Sampling Section, with a PPH (Productivity per head) of only 4.0. Using Lean Management techniques such as 5S, Standardized work, PDCA/Kaizen, KANBAN, and Quick Changeover, the study addresses issues such as pre and post Quick Changeover (QCO) time, improper line balancing, and sudden plan changes.
The research employs regression analysis to test hypotheses, revealing a significant correlation between reducing QCO time and increasing productivity. With a regression equation of Y = -0.000501X + 6.72 and an R-squared value of 0.98, the study demonstrates a strong relationship between the independent variables (QCO downtime and improper line balancing downtime) and the dependent variable (productivity per head).
The findings suggest that by implementing Lean Management practices and addressing key productivity inhibitors, RMG factories can achieve substantial improvements in efficiency and profitability. The study provides valuable insights for practitioners, policymakers, and researchers seeking to enhance productivity in the RMG industry and similar manufacturing sectors.
