Many businesses already see the writing on the wall: Only 8 percent of companies
say their current business model will remain economically viable if their industry
keeps digitizing at its current course and speed.2 But to become a modern digital

Uber has introduced several in-app features to enhance the customer experience in India. For
example, UberPOOL allows users to share rides with others traveling along similar routes, reducing
costs and environmental impact. Additionally, features such as "Share Trip" and "Emergency
Button" provide users with added security and peace of mind during their rides, particularly
important in countries like India where safety concerns may arise
8. Better Risk Management
Technical agility enables better risk management by promoting rapid prototyping and iterative
development, automating processes through CI/CD practices, leveraging microservices
architecture for resilience, implementing real-time monitoring and alerting systems, adapting
security measures to evolving threats, and fostering cross-functional collaboration and knowledge
sharing. By embracing technical agility, organizations can proactively identify and mitigate risks,
enhance resilience, and maintain a competitive advantage in an ever-changing business
environment.
Example:
Amazon big billion day sale – Auto scaling using cloudwatch in AWS
9. Faster Time to Market
Technical agility enables faster time-to-market through its emphasis on iterative development, rapid
feedback loops, and streamlined processes.
Example:
Airbnb initially launched as a platform for renting air mattresses in a spare room but quickly pivoted
based on user feedback to focus on short-term vacation rentals. This nimble approach enabled
Airbnb to grow rapidly and disrupt the hospitality industry.
10. Empowered Team
Technical agility empowers cross-functional teams to take ownership of their work, make
autonomous decisions, and drive outcomes. By fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, and
accountability, organizations can unleash the full potential of their teams and harness their
collective creativity and expertise. Empowered teams are more motivated, engaged, and
productive, leading to better outcomes for the organization as a whole.
Example:
Acko harnesses the power of data analytics and machine learning to make informed decisions and
drive business growth. For instance, Acko analyzes vast amounts of data from various sources,
including customer interactions, claims history, and market trends, to identify patterns, insights, and
opportunities. By leveraging its technical agility, Acko empowers its teams with real-time access to
actionable data and insights, enabling them to make data-driven decisions that drive innovation and
improve business outcomes.
11. Optimized Resource Utilization
Technical agility enables organizations to optimize their use of resources, both human and
technological. By automating repetitive tasks, streamlining processes, and leveraging cloud
computing and microservices architecture, organizations can maximize efficiency, reduce waste,
and allocate resources more effectively. This optimization allows organizations to achieve more with
less and focus their efforts on value-adding activities.

13. Challenges in Implementing Technical Agility
05 – COMPLIANCE RISK
04 – RESOURCE
CONSTRAINTS
03 – COMPETENCY GAP
02 – TECH DEBT
01 – CULTURAL RESISTANCE
Rapidly adopting new technologies can introduce security
vulnerabilities and compliance challenges if not managed
properly.
Achieving technical agility often requires significant
investments in training, infrastructure, and talent acquisition,
which can strain limited resources.
Addressing competency or knowledge gap is a critical
challenge to be addressed while adopting Technical Agility
Adopting new technologies without properly addressing
technical debt can lead to complexity, compatibility issues,
and increased maintenance costs.
Overcoming resistance to change and fostering a culture that
embraces agility can be a significant hurdle, requiring strong
leadership and effective change management..
Scalability and Performance Optimization: Paytm swiftly scaled up its infrastructure to handle the unprecedented increase in transaction volumes. By leveraging cloud computing resources and optimizing its systems for high performance.
Rapid Feature Development: Paytm demonstrated agility by quickly introducing new features and functionalities to meet the evolving needs of its users. For example, it introduced the "Nearby" feature, allowing users to locate nearby merchants accepting Paytm payments.
Streaming Technology: Netflix pioneered the shift from physical media to streaming technology, fundamentally changing the way people access and consume entertainment.
Personalization and Recommendation Algorithms: Netflix leveraged advanced data analytics and machine learning algorithms to personalize the user experience and recommend content tailored to individual preferences.
Original Content Strategy: Netflix disrupted the entertainment industry by investing in original content production, creating a vast library of exclusive shows, movies, and documentaries.
