1. Ancient Civilizations Reflection
My Civilization: Ancient China
The Research Journey:
My favorite part of the research journey was researching from books
because I found that book had the correct answer and pictures. My
best research question was about what ancient Chinesepeople ate
because I got very many notes for that question. While doing my
research, I found it difficult to look for books that had the answer
because very much books didn’t have the correct answer or it told me
about other things, not about my questions. The most interesting
thing I learned about the structure of society was that men go to
work and women stay at home to look after their children.I think that
paper is an important legacy of ancient China because if there was no
paper we would need to write on other things now.
Report Writing
I am proud of my report because I put many details in my report.
While writing the report, I became better at spelling words. If I wrote
it again, I would improve my report by using past tense.
Archeology Presentation
I enjoyed looking for my artifacts because I looked all over my
house.I found it difficult to move things in my home to get the
artifacts. I am most proud of my buddist writing block artifact
because my mom gave it to me and I explained it very well.I enjoyed
the archeology presentation because I can taught many people about
ancient China.I found it difficult to use eye contact with the parents,
though. While preparing for this presentation, I became better at
speaking loudly.
What else?
During this unit I especially enjoyed making the time line in
Math/UOI.I took extra time to write my report so it was really
good. After this unit, I might continue to learn about ancient China
because I think Iwill learn more andmore if I keep researching.
